9/28/09 Hawain Party....lots of fun

Went and visited dad today. Shoveled while I was there and filled his bird feeder.
We probably got about 3 inches of snow. He snowblowed his driveway and his neighbors. What a sweetie he is. Kenzie got home and decided she wanted to play outside. She had fun copying her uncle Jared and making an igloo and then she wanted a candle to put in it. She came in and we ate and got ready to go to youth.
I got ready to go to our Hawian party with our All Stars. The kids had lots of fun and so did we adults. We played musical beach towels, hot potato with kiwi, ring a pineapple, bean bag toss in the hula hoop, limbo, and hula hoop contests. We also had a contest for the best outfit. The kids were so funny when I walked in. They started running to me and said you're going to win the contest. You look really good. They were so sweet. I told them they could only vote for kids, as last time some did vote for me. We made smoothies for everyone and the time flew by.

Grandpa with his Amarylis...it had 8 blossoms altogether. He enjoyed watching it grow so much and so did I.

Kenzie and her dog Mocha. They are always excited to see each other after Kenzie gets out of school.

1/24/09

Bill and I slept in this mornng. We were blessed with a gift card in the mail so we decided to go out to breakfast. We stopped at dad's so I could check on him and bring in his newspaper. We asked him to go with us, but he had already eaten. Bill told him he could come and get a piece of banana bread and a drink with us so he decided that was a good idea. Bill had eggs, pancakes and sausage. I had blueberry pancakes with blueberry topping...yummy!!!. Dad saw cherry bread so ordered that with orange juice. We had a nice visit. Went to a sporting goods store so they could put in for their turkey permits. We dropped dad off and decided to go get Bill some insulated underwear so he would be warm when we went to the snowfest. We also went to look around at Circuit City. At about 4:45 we dropped off venison and potatoes made in the pressure cooker to grandpa and headed to Melissa and Bruce's house. Hailey's and Melissa's haircuts looked really cute.
We headed for the snowfest. We were all bundled up as it was a very cold day.
We walked to the play area first so the kids could see the petting zoo and ride the horses. I took some pictures on Melissa's camera of the kids riding. It was too cold to dig my camera out so I only took pictures in the fudge shop. The kids were so cute and well behaved. Jack was a good baby like usual. We headed to the warming tent, but it was so packed we couldn't get the stroller in. Decided to go across the street and get something to eat there. We went in the small warming tent and ate hot dogs (crisp hot dog buns from sitting out) and drank hot chocolate. Then we headed for the fudge shop. We watched them making fudge and then saw the fireworks starting. The guys took Hailey and Max outside to watch and Melissa and I stayed inside with Jack and watched through the window. After a while they came in and watched inside with us. Jack was intently watching the fireworks. He was so cute. As we were walking we saw the hot air baloons lighting up. They were beautiful. We headed back to the car, stopping at the bakery
on our way and getting some cookies. While we were walking Max said, Can we get some hot chocolate to warm us up, can we. I love the way he talks. It was such a fun night even though it was so cold.

1/19/09

Kenzie got up this morning and while I was typing a funeral up for Bill she decided to clean out her closet. I couldn't believe the pile. After a big sigh, I got her a vacumn bag and we put the clothes in it. She sucked the air out of it so it would be ready for the attic. We went to grandpas and took Mocha with us. While we were watching a video of grandma, grandpa went to where Mocha was lying in the sun on the floor He got down on the floor with her and started petting her. He wants her to like him and not run away when he comes by her. She stayed right there so that made him very happy. Kenzie and i went to get a blizzard and then went to the book store. She had a gift card. She picked out a book and we headed home. At about 3 we went back to dad's to meet Vikki and Rody.
Rody was trying to get grandpa's kitchen tv to get more channels. Headed home and
called Bill. We decided to go out to eat and make out our Vision (goals) for 2009. We usually have it done by now, but haven't had time. We had a nice time and great food.

Hailey wanted to learn to sew.....1/18/09

Went to dad's to get his paper for him this morning. I almost got stuck in his driveway. I shoveled and he got the snowblower out. I had to go to church so told him I would be back later if he needed me. He said Brenda would be there in a little while so she could help him. Chuck and Sue came to our house after church. We had soup and strawberry shortcake for lunch. Melissa, Bruce and the kiddos came over for a while. Bruce was loading up wood and taking it to his house. Nice to have them visit. Hailey wanted to learn how to sew so we got the sewing machine out and a stool and she began. It was so much fun watching her. She did great. Max wanted to have a turn too so he was next. He did great too. They picked out the stitch design they wanted and they were so happy to see it on the material. Kenzie wanted to spend the night. She doesn't have school tomorrow so it will be nice to have her for the night. Don't have her much right now. She went to her friend, Madison's grandma's to spend time together after church. The get along so well and are great friends. They have been friends since they were 2. Madison is a very sweet girl so I love to see them get together. They will be going on the missionary trip together this summer.
