11/29/15

Peyton and Isaac in front of their pretty Christmas tree!

Mocha is always happy to go to Vikki's.  Peyton and Isaac put a princess crown on her! Ha Ha  No wonder she loves it there.  They treat her like a princess

Love my slippers Vikki gave me today and my headband from Kimmy.  They are so talented to make such nice things for their mama.

Went to church.  We were happy to see Kenzie and Cole there.  They sat behind us.  Good message today.  "If you lie to your fellow man, you lie to God."  God made everything and owns it all.  He owns us to.  He is the owner and we are the manager of what he has given us.  After church, I got my Sunday School lesson prepared for next Sunday, then Bill and I went to Bob Evans for dinner.  He got the Farmer's Breakfast and I got the senior Turkey dinner.  We were full after that.  Went to get more Christmas lights for outside at Sam's, then a light checker from Walmart.  Also stopped at Meijer's to get more yarn for dish cloths.  Came home and watched two good Christian Christmas movies.  Going to bed early as tomorrow is Bill's knee replacement surgery.  Second time for this knee.  Sure am praying for a successful surgery and amazing recovery with no complications.  God is Awesome!

Got the house decorated for Christmas!

11/27/15 Left the Shack and headed for home

Louise in front of a huge antique ice cream maker in the museum at the Shack

Louise in front of a car from the year she was born.  The one next to it farther back is  a car from the year her husband was born.  There are lots of neat things in this museum
Took these pictures of Peyton and Isaac.  Neither turned out very good.  Above they are saying cheese and below is their school picture smile.

11/26/15

We were so happy Louise came with us.  She was so much fun and is so sharp.  You would never know she was 92 by looking at her.

Bill was into his  book so while it was our turn to deal this is what he did. Ha Ha

We got up and had a great breakfast.  They had scrambled eggs, potatoes, ham, sausage, toast, peaches, and tiny tangerines and  on the buffet. They had orange juice, coffee and milk to drink. We ate lots of good food.  We played cards, visited, walked around the inside of the Shack.  At 1 we went and sat at a window table.  Monica (Stub) was our waitress.  We had her last year too. We had asked for her because we liked her so much before.  We went to the buffet and got Turkey, Mashed Potatoes, dressing, sweet potato, beans, rolls, bread pudding, cranberries, salad, cole slaw, applesauce and cottage cheese jello dessert.  They also had pumpkin pie, apple dessert, banana cake and peach pie.  We were stuffed after that.  We ladies went to Louise's room to watch a Hallmark movie while the guys read their books and rested.  They served spaghetti at night but we were all too full to eat again.  However, we did have room by the time banana split time rolled around.  Lots of Amish (probably about 80) were there. They are nice and friendly.  We played some eucre and 3-13 cards.

11/25/15 Left to go spend a couple of days at the Shack

Sue, Louise and I at Jenny's Restaurant in Shepherd

Bill and Charlie at Jenny's Restaurant

The back porch at the Shack.  It was warm and nice when I started my walk

The porch facing the other direction

It was so beautiful on Wednesday when we got there.  This is right out our window

Decided to go for a walk

Went on this Gazebo as I walked

This was along the trail.  Cute little bear planter

I came to the little chapel

Went inside and spent some time praying for Kenzie.  Then prayed for all my other dear grandkids, kids and son in laws.  Loved the Bible on the table and the other book.

These three swans were beautiful.  There were lots geese too.

This walk was absolutely beautiful and so peaceful.  Just what I needed

I got all the way around and Sue called my phone, so I walked it again with her.  Everyone was in their room resting when I left

We went to Charlie and Sue's at 9:45 to leave to go to the Shack in Jugsville.  Louise met us there and we rode in her van.  Bill drove.  We stopped at Jenny's Restaurant in Shepherd for breakfast. They make the best breakfast and it was delicious.  Left there and went through Blanchard where Praise Unto Jesus used to be.  We went through Canadian Lakes where Bill and the kids ran with the Fisher's when they were young.  We got to the Shack, unpacked and everyone wanted to rest.  I wasn't tired, so I went for a nice walk around the trails.   Walked around a second time with Sue.  I needed exercise so I was happy about that.  Got back and shopped in the little shop for a while.   At 6:15, we went the the dining room to eat.  They had delicious chicken, tender yummy beef, mashed potatoes, green beans, salad, rolls.  We sure were full after that.  They played cards and I knitted a dishcloth after that.  At 8:30 we went back there for amazing banana splits. They had about 12 different flavors to choose from.  I picked 1 scoop chocolate, and 2 of white chocolate raspberry.  Then I put strawberries, pineapple and chocolate on it Marv (who is almost 82) and his wife Jeanette (87) were serving.  He scooped and she cut the bananas.  Bill poured water for people and kept ice in it.  He did this both nights.  I helped with some things and got Bill his banana split.  Charlie, Sue, Louis and I ate ours and drank coffee with it.  It was so delicious.  We went back to our rooms after that.  Bill and I enjoyed the hot tub in our room.  Watched a Hallmark Movie and went to bed.

11/24/15 Hailey, Max and Jack had a special Thanksgiving Chapel at their school.

Hailey in her classroom

Peyton and Isaac

Went to Bethlehem Lutheran for their Thanksgiving chapel the kids invited us to.  Dad went into Max's class, Melissa went into Jack's class and I went into Hailey's class.  We learned a little about their class and teacher and then went to chapel.  It was such a great chapel with a great message.  The music was beautiful.  Hailey's class did a really nice skit and Max's class played their recorders really nice and sang.  Jack's name was drawn out of the box of kids caught being good.  It was so nice being there.  We saw Ginny and her family and Melissa picked up the baby she watches. He was so cute and such a good baby.  Got home and started rearranging furniture to make room for the tree.  Bill helped.  We took a rest and went to Applebee's to eat.  We used Bill's $5 gift card he got from Applebee's for Veteran's day and I had another gift card.  Had a nice lunch and nice visit.  Took Mocha to Vikki's for her to watch while we are gone.  Took that cute pic of Peyton and Isaac.
Love hearing from Kimmy as they travel to Georgia.  She called me the first time and then Messaged me from Ohio, Kentucky, and Tennessee. I called her when I got the message about them being in Tennessee.  They will be stopping in a half hour to sleep at a hotel.  They are about 3 hours from their destination.  Watched a Christmas movie with Bill.  Went to see Kenzie at Culver's.  The tree is up and the stuff is all downstairs, but I will wait to decorate when we get home from the Shack.

11/23/15 Went to meet Melissa at CJ's as they are having their van fixed.

Bill called and told me Melissa would be calling to let me know where to pick her up at 9am.  She called and I met her at CJ's.  We went to Bob Evan's for breakfast and had a nice talk, then came back to my house and watched the movie, Do You Believe.  Such a great movie.  We had a turkey sandwich after that and I took her home.  Dropped off Christmas songs at Elaine's (she goes to Faith Riders) and then stopped at Vikki because it was too early to pick up Melissa's kids.  Went at night to watch "Do you Believe with Vikki.  She liked it too.

11/22/15 Beautiful snowy day

Beautiful snow on the ground and trees.  Went to church.  Not such a good day afterwards. Bill upset with me because I didn't want to let a couple at church take my car to Missouri.  I was fine when he offered his truck, but Melissa had said their van wasn't running good and needed to be fixed before they could go to Muskegon and we are going to the Shack and Louise who is 92 is coming with us and I didn't think she could get in Chuck's truck so wanted to have the car to take.  He asked me right in front of the couple and I didn't have time to think.  Then sad news about Kenzie leaving home.  My heart is sad but my faith is strong and I know God is listening to our prayers and answering. Was glad when Kenzie stopped here to get clothes and Bill asked if she wanted us to pray for her and she said yes.  Know God is answering that prayer and Kenzie will turn out fine with His help.

11/21/15 Celebrated Thanksgiving today! So much to be thankful for!

So happy Sue and Chuck came over to celebrate with us.  Love this picture of her and Isaac

Ten blessings from the Lord I am so very thankful for.

Fun playing Apples to Apples.  Such a fun family I am so very thankful for.

Evan, Peyton and Isaac

Uncle Bruce showing Jacob something on his phone

Cocoa time for the grandkids!  Poor Peyton burned herself drinking hers.  She finished it when it was cold though.  One of the kids only got 1 marshmallow because I ran out and Jacob gave them one of his.  He is so thoughtful.

Jacob and Isaac being blessings and picking up the legos.

Fun family dictionary time.  We had such a good time.

Peyton and Evan very carefully putting the dominoes in the box so the cover will fit.

Love this picture of Peyton!  Cute of Evan except he wasn't looking at me.

Love this picture of both of them!  Happy Evan gave me such a nice smile this time.

These pictures are worth a thousand words.  None of the girls had scrapers in their cars so the guys had to use brooms.  It took us a while to find ours too, but now they are in our car.

Got up at 6 and started preparing the Thanksgiving meal.  Started making dressing and realized I didn't thaw out any burger for it.  Went downstairs and found a small pack so put it in a dish and defrosted it in the microwave.  Then cooked it on the stove.  Stuffed one turkey ( I could only get 14 lb. ones for the 59 cents a pound this year so bought two.  When I went to get the other turkey out of the basement frog,  I thought it felt like it wasn't quite thawed.  Went to take innerds out and they had a packet of gravy stuffed in it that was frozen solid.  I put the turkey in water to thaw it and it only took about a half hour.  Got the ham cut off the bone and going in the crockpot.  Got ready and did my hair and then peeled potatoes  Had the food all set when the kids got here.  Happy when Kimmy, Jared and the boys got here.  Jacob played a lot of songs on his clarinet.  Lots of Christmas ones too.  He is amazing as he has only been playing 3 weeks and knows so many songs and plays so well.  I loved listening to him.  Very proud of him.  Took videos of everyone.  Kimmy made the punch for me.  She also brought two delicious apple pies.  Adam made one by himself and cut the apples for the other one.  They were so good.  Melissa and her family and Vikki and her family got here around noon  Bruce got called into work so we quickly got all the food ready and Bill cut the turkeys. Kimmy and Jared did the potatoes, Kenzie wanted to make the gravy also the second batch of punch. Chuck and Sue got here just in time to pray with us and then we ate.  Bruce left, but wasn't gone too long.  We had our dessert after we rested a while and let our food settle.  Then we played Apples to Apples and then pictionary.  So much fun with this special family God has blessed us with and special friends too.  When the kids went to leave, there was lots of ice and snow on their cars.  None of them had a brush or scraper in their cars.  Bill looked in our car and we didn't have one either.  At least I did know where mine was and told Bill so he got it for them.  They had to use the broom for a scraper too.  They all made it safely home.  God is so wonderful and Awesome.  I give Him thanks for who He is and what He has done for me.  I also thank Him for my girls, son-in-laws and grandchildren and so much more.  Could write a book on all He has done for me and my precious family.  We are truly blessed.

11/20/15 Ruth Kish's funeral, Vikki Eddy's presentation

Went to Ruth Kish's funeral showing this morning.  I couldn't stay for the funeral because I had to meet my best friend, Vikki, but Bill stayed for it.  Went to Logan's to meet Vikki at 11:30.  We both ordered grilled salmon, potato and one side dish.  Mine was a salad and she got veggies.  We spent a long time visiting afterwards as we didn't have to be at her brother's business until 1.  When we got there, her brother, his daughter and son, Vikki's mom and dad, and Stephanie's boyfriend were there.  Vikki did an amazing job giving her presentation.  How nice that most of her family could be there to listen and comment and that she invited me.  I stopped at Meijer's on my way home to get sherbet for the punch and jello salad for tomorrow's Thanksgiving dinner.  Meijer's was all out of orange so I had to go to Pat's in Freehand to get it.  When I got home, Bill had a new Stable made for my outside  nativity.  He put hinges on it and made it out of treated wood.  Now he can just fold it up each year.  It's beautiful.  Made rolls, pies, jello salad, and cranberry relish.  Watching a Mandie movie and then going to bed.
