4/30/17...Happy Birthday to Evan, Went to church, went to Olive Garden, went to see "Greater" (Movie Jessie Karls wrote an d directed)

Happy Birthday to my grandson, Evan.  I love you and I'm so thankful God gave you to us.  You are always so cute, silly and sweet.  You bring us so much joy!  Birthday hugs to you sweetie!

Melissa and Bruce made these cute treats for Evan's Birthday to take to his class.  The kids are going to love them.

Bill, in front of the Temple Theatre.  We went and saw the movie "Greater"

Went to church.  Vikki and her family went to Rody's mom's church and Melissa and her family went to Bethlehem to church.  Stacie wasn't at church either, so our row wasn't as full as usual. Gayla's Brother and his wife visited our church and sat behind us.  We had a nice visit with them.
After church, Bill asked if I wanted to go out to eat.  Of course I said yes.  We were trying to decide between Harvey's and Olive Garden and decided on Olive Garden.  We just got seated and noticed Debbie and Jeff Davis were sitting in the other dining room.  We asked them to come sit with us so they did.  They had discussed going to Harvey's too, but decided on Olive Garden.  We had a wonderful meal and visit.  After that we came home and I started putting our Faith Rider's newsletter for April together.  Bill fell asleep on the couch and then went to bed to nap better.  Kenzie messaged me and wanted to come visit.  She got here and brought her cat with her.  Her cat was really nice and did a lot of purring.  She showed me her hula hooping routine.  She is very good at it.  She's talented at whatever she does.  I gave her a book and calculator so she can study for her tests.  She had a grilled cheese sandwich, some salmon and some peanut butter with pretzels dipped in chocolate while she was here.  I invited her to go to the movie with us, but she got a phone call from Trevor and he was pretty upset about his cousin, Tanner that just died.  People at work were asking him about him.  Kenzie headed to his work instead of going with us.  We met Wes, Gayla, Melissa, Bruce and Hailey at the Temple Theatre.  Jessie Karls wrote and produced the movie, "Greater".  It was good and sure makes you think and see how great God is.  Greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world!!!  There were a couple of things they could have left out of the movie to make it better.  Loved that it was filmed in our town.  Neat to see all of the familiar buildings and places in it.  We ordered a DVD.  It was filmed right in our town so that was pretty cool.  A kid from our church, Joel Curry was in the movie and did a really good job.

I dressed in layers for our motorcycle ride to Shepherd for the Maple Syrup Festival.  Eight of us rode on bikes.  Seven came in cars.  It was in the 40's when we left but I dressed nice and warm and had great gloves so didn't get cold.  There was a huge line all the way down the hallway of the school one way and then back the other way.  It didn't take too long though and we were at the breakfast room.  We had delicious pancakes and yummy sausage.  Young kids served us our drinks and brought extra food if we wanted it.  Bill and I sat across from a young guy who went to Central Michigan.  He a group of special needs people with him.  He was very nice and friendly.  I asked him if he was a believer in Jesus and he said he was.  He pointed and said his pastor was down at the end of our table.
He was so nice to the guys with him.  So nice to see a young man be so caring.
We shopped at the school....they had so many homemade things.  I bought a really pretty bracelet and a spinner.  They had a lot more stuff this year than they have all the other years we have gone.
The ride home was warmer (in the 50's).   I prefer 70's and 80's.  We watched a movie when we got home.

We went to garage sales again.  Met Kimmy and headed out.  We went to the subdivision by the school.  It was pretty cool and windy when we started but much nicer once the sun came out.
We didn't find much.  Kimmy did find a nice heavy duty gate for her new puppy when she gets it. I found some girl legos and Vikki found more clothes.   After we finished at that subdivision, we went and had lunch at Leaman's again.  This time I made chicken salad sandwiches.  We also had strawberries, goldfish, and pretzels that were left from the day before.  We had chocolate, peanut butter pretzels for dessert.  Another yummy lunch.  We went to a Subdivision on Palatial Drive and I got a table and chair set for the deck.  The chairs are so comfortable and recline at different positions.
The girls came to our house and helped set up the chairs, table and umbrella and unloaded all my other stuff too.  Bill and I went to the Sportszone to meet Wes, Gayla, Gary and Dorthy for a fish dinner.  It was really good.  Charlie and Sue were there too.  They sat with Vicky and her sister, Penny.  I got home and started washing the cushions to the chairs I got.  Melissa called and wondered if I was coming to the kid's school.  I forgot they were displaying their science fair projects and also putting on a musical.  I got there about 10 minutes before the musical, Esther, began.  I was so happy to see Hailey, Ally and Max. (Bruce and Melissa too, of course).  Jack and Evan did a really good job and I was happy to see them afterwards too.  Max took me to his room and showed me his science project and told me all about it.  Did a great job too!   Hailey had taken hers to the van already so she showed it to me when we were leaving.  She did amazing also.  Stopped at Vikki's on the way home and looked at the stuff she had gotten at the sales.  She got lots of clothes for the kids, a Kirby vacuum (I tried it), and a beautiful quilt and sham for Peyton's bed.  Got to see Shiraz again too!  Such a pretty dog.  Lenny sure was excited to see me.

4/27/17....Vikki came over and we met Kimmy to go to garage sales....Went to the Rescue Mission

This is the doctor that did Hailey's Spina Bifida Surgery.  She has Spina Bifida herself but was made Chief of Pediatric Neurosurgery (first female to hold this title in the U.S.)  She has spina bifida herself so this is an amazing accomplishment.  Lauren, Kenzie's cousin, is in the picture with her.  She also operated on Lauren for her brain tumor.    Dr. Muraszko was suspended from the ceiling for two of Lauren's 12 hour surgeries.  Hailey is a miracle girl and so is Lauren and God used this doctor as an instrument in their lives.  God is Awesome!

Vikki came over and we visited until we got a call from Kimmy saying she was getting close.  We met her at Pat's and rode with her to go to garage sales for the Walleye Festival.  We found lots of stuff right away and had a van full pretty quick.  We went to one that was just setting up and I found a whole big box of legos.  There are 3/4's of a tub of legos.  Amazing sets are in it and the lady had all the books.  I found a large rectangle electric frying pan and a griddle.  Lots of good finds.  We stopped for lunch at Leaman's and Kimmy had made us yummy egg salad with her chicken's eggs.  We also had delicious strawberries (Vikki asked if she could eat one at a time ha ha.  She's so cute.)  We had pretzels too!  Such a great lunch and we sure were full.  We went shopping again and we found two fold up bikes that we can take camping.  We got them from a Pastor's house.  I had to run to an ATM and then we dropped stuff off at Vikki's car so we would have enough room for the bikes.  Kimmy and Vikki tested the bike for me.  We sure had lots of fun and good laughs while we shopped.  We saw Bruce and Melissa while they were shopping too.  It was so cute!  Melissa came running towards us when she saw us.  I sure love my girls.  They are loving and giving and always willing to help.  Vikki and Kimmy came back to my house and we went through my stuff again.  Bill and I had to leave to go pick up the popcorn for the guys at the Rescue Mission to eat while they watch God's Not Dead 2.  The guys loved the movie and even started singing "How Great Thou Art" when they sang it in the movie.  Bill led the guys in a Salvation prayer afterward and we were able to pray individually with some of the guys who wanted prayer.  I prayed for a guy named Bob who was on oxygen.  He wanted prayer for his health and a place to live.  Please keep him in prayer!  We got home and I made steak and baked potatoes.  We at kind of late but it sure tasted good.

My class working on a paper quilt in class.  They will be taping all of these plus the other classes pictures together and hanging them and then taking a picture of all the kids with it.  They are writing something they are going to let go of on it so they can put others first.  Such sweet kids!

I met Nancy at Riverside Restaurant and she shared about how the Holy Spirit touched her at a retreat she went to over the weekend.  God is so amazing.  I want to go to the next one in November.  We had a nice visit.  Left there and headed to Catherine's for my hair appointment.  We had a nice visit too and I got to pray for her before I left.  Believing for a miracle for her back so she doesn't have to have surgery.  Went to Tim Horton's and picked up a Mocha for Melissa (She called and said she was upon lil 3 and needed some caffeine.  I got a French Vanilla Cap. and each of us a nutty donut.  Nora was really cute and played so nice.  She has the cutest laugh.  Picked Peyton and Isaac up from school because Vikki was helping her Aunt Debbie.  They were excited to see me and ran to give me hugs after they hugged their teacher and told her goodbye.  We went to McDonalds in Shields to play and it was so nice there.  Such a high slide and play area.  The kids loved it.  The kids had a chicken nugget happy meal and I got 6 chicken nuggets free because the Tigers won.  I got it off the App.  Thanks, Vikki, for letting me know about the app and the freebie.  We went to the Park after that and they had lots of fun playing.  There was a little boy about 6 there who was in a wheelchair.  He didn't have any legs, but he would get his wheelchair close and then get off and pull himself up the slide.  He was quick and pretty strong.  So cute and very determined.  We came back to my house and did a chicken craft where they had to match up colors with numbers and put cute colored squares on top of the numbers.  They worked on them for a while and then went outside to jump on the trampoline.   Bill's friend that I went to school with, Emil Franz, brought his trailer back.  Bill wanted me to come out and talk to him so I did.
We went to class and it was so nice out, we let the kids play outside for 45 minutes and then gave them ice cream sandwiches for their snack.  Lots of happy kids.  We went in and did their coloring page for the paper quilt and then had our prayer time.  Love how the kids are so happy to pray for each other.
