Wed., 9/30/2020, Rained on and off, Made a roast, Finished the mirror for the dresser, Vikki, Rody and kids came over

The storm went all around us and missed us totally!  So thankful!

Isaac had a little problem shuffling

Peyton loves her dog

Spent time with the Lord Worshipping and reading the Word.  Peeled potatoes and also carrots from the garden.  Made brownies and then put the roast in.  Used onions from the garden too.  Cooked a squash from the garden too.  Lots of good smells in the kitchen.  I gave the dresser mirror the last coat of paint on the side I couldn't do before.  Vikki, Rody, Peyton and Isaac came for dinner.  We had a nice time and Vikki was a huge help.  Peyton and Isaac spent the night.  We played the rest of our 3-13 game we started on Tuesday, then watched a couple of Full Houses.  We read the Action Bible and then we said our prayers.  I tucked them in and at first said Pop up like toast in the morning, but changed it to sleep like a log ha ha!  Sure love these kiddos!

Tuesday, 9/29/2020, Watched Peyton and Isaac, Walked 2 1/2 miles,

Playing 3-13 with these fun kiddos so they can work math when adding up their scores.  Trouble was, they got pretty low scores today.  At least they didn't get a lot of practice subtracting 10's

Dresser finished with new knobs and handles Bill got an put on for me.  He had to drill new holes for the handles.  He did a great job!

Lots of dark clouds rolling by...got a little rain, but not much

Bill with mantle he cut, stained and varnished for Vikki

Vikki brought Peyton and Isaac at 8 this morning.  I made her a coffee to go before she headed to work. I put ingredients in the bread maker and started it.  I also boiled eggs to make egg salad.   Peyton and Isaac ate breakfast and then we worked on spelling.  They had a real hard list of 20 words this week.  I gave them a test before they studied and they got most wrong this time.  They wrote the words they missed 5 times and then I tested them on those.  We studied a long time and they were so patient and good and so much fun.  We played 3-13 after that so they could relax for a little while.  We didn't finish the game, because we had to do our reading.  They wanted to hear 2 chapters instead of 1 of the book I am reading to them.  After that they took turns reading their books out loud.  Vikki came, and we ate our lunch.  Peyton loved the egg salad on homemade bread.  Isaac tried it, but didn't like it.  Bill put the handles and knobs on the dresser for me.  It looks so nice!  I had to finish a side of the mirror, so will have him put it on when it's done.  I went to the SportsZone and walked the rail trail.  Went 2 1/2 miles...almost to our road, and then turned around and came back.  Gave the mirror another coat of paint.  Talked to Kimmy and Melissa today and texted with Adam.  Watched the Debate.

Monday, 9/28/2020, Updated CMA Website, Made up a list to fill out for Peyton and Isaac's reading, Finished 2nd & 3rd coats of paint, visited James

I fixed our breakfast and we did our reading, then I painted a second coat of grey on the dresser.  Also did the round table.  I worked on updating our Faith Riders Group on the CMA website.  I also typed up a list for recording books Peyton and Isaac read while they are here and the time spent reading.  We went to do an outside social distance visit with James and his mom under the Pavilion of Great Lakes.  It was raining and a little cool out, but I put lots of layers on, so I was warm.  Bill didn't wear layers, and said he was shivering by the time we left.  Poor James didn't know it was so cold out and came out wearing shorts and a tee shirt.  His mom called one of the workers and had them bring him a sweatshirt out.  We had a really nice visit.  It's the first time he could have visitors in quite a while because of Covid.  He has been in lockdown since April.  He was very happy to see us, and we were very happy to see him.  We ate dinner and then I talked to Vikki and she is bringing the kids in the morning instead of tonight, so I gave the dresser and table the 3rd and final coat.  YAY!  Bill is picking up new knobs and handles tomorrow that match the color of my vanity table.  It will be nice to put everything back in the drawers.  So proud of Adam.  He messaged me that he only has 400 more pages to read and he will be finished reading his Bible.    He's a pretty amazing kid.

Its all over the garden by where it was originally
Got the first coat of grey paint on the dresser

Went to prayer time, then church.  Wonderful worship and a great message from Pastor Ken.  Came home and picked the garden and gave the veggies to Amy and Dennis.  I painted the first coat of grey on the dresser upstairs.  Melissa, Bruce and the boys came over.  It sure was nice to see them.  The boys cut down the corn stalks.  Max did lots.  They are hard workers.  Misty came and took some cornstalks home with her.  She gets some every year.  It was nice talking to the boys.  I had a very nice visit with Melissa and Max on the deck.  Papa was letting Jack drive the tractor and pull Evan in the wagon.  Jack sure loved it and did great.  Then Papa and Bruce let Evan drive Jack.  Melissa and I didn't think that was a good idea.  It made us both nervous when we heard them telling Evan to stop.  Evan did stop right away though, but Bruce got on with him and helped him with the pedals because Evan couldn't reach them good.  Melissa and I breathed a sigh of relief ha ha.  Bill and Bruce came up on the deck to visit with us.  Jack drove the tractor by the garage and loaded the pumpkins from our garden they wanted in and hauled them to the van.  Bruce took some squash too.  Nice that the garden did so good this year.  Always nice to share.  Hailey face Timed Melissa and found out they were at our house.  She told her she should have let her know so she could have come.  We told her to come then and she came a few minutes after her mom and dad had left.  We had a nice visit on the deck and then we went to Coco Loco's to get our favorite Nachos and dine outside.  It was very nice and they took care of everything outside in the fresh air and wore face masks.  We sanitized our hands after we read the menu.  The food was nice and hot and tasted delicious.  We each got half orders and couldn't eat all of that even.  I brought a plain half order home to Bill.  They messed up his order and put cheese sauce on it, so I had to run back and get the right food.  I painted after that and finished the first coat of grey on the drawers and mirror.  Came downstairs and relaxed in our recliners in the loveseat after that.  Talked to Vikki for a while and face timed her.  Adam texted me.  I love getting his texts.

Met Bill and some friends from Faith Riders after the soccer games
Greg, Merijo, me, Bill, Daryl, Barb, Elaine and Don at Lucky's.
Adam by the round bale.  He looks so tall by it now.  He used to look really short by them. I borrowed this from Kimmy!

After I ate and read my Bible, I started painting the dresser upstairs with primer.  I finished in time to get ready and go to Eli and Adam's games.  I watched half of Eli's game first.  He did great and was really on the move and in the action.  He kicked the ball a bunch of times.  At halftime, Jared and Jacob came to watch the second half of Eli's game, and Kimmy and I went to watch the second half of Adam's game.  Adam played great too, and when ever the ball came down at his end where the other team was trying to make a goal, he kicked it and got it going in the right direction.  He was on the move lots too.  I loved watching them play.  They are moving really fast, with all the practice they are getting at home.  They wore face masks the whole time they were playing.  Kimmy and I were hot just sitting there wearing our face masks.  Can't imagine playing soccer in one.  I met Bill and some friends from Faith Riders afterward.  It was pretty out with some of the trees we passed, starting to change color.  I gave the dresser a second coat of primer.

Eli called me over to look at what he made.  I didn't have my camera, but he told me his mom took a picture.  Thanks Kimmy...I borrowed both of them

Sanded the dresser tonight

Bill and I went to Menards, then Vikki's and Home Depot.  We measured Vikki's fireplace for the mantle Bill is working on for it.  Bill had a coffee.  I took pictures of the kiddos.  We went to Home Depot afterward, so I could get the primer and paint for painting the dresser.  When we were checking out, a older gentleman in line who reminded me of my dad, turned and noticed Bill was a Marine.  He told him Semper Fi and they talked about their time in the service.  I thanked him for his service.  He was so nice.  After he paid, he threw a $20 bill on our paint can in our cart.  He told us to put it towards our stuff.  Bill gave it back to him, but he put it right back on the can.  He told us God had blessed him, and he had to bless others so to keep it.  Bill told him we were Christians too and asked him where he goes to church.  He was such a blessing to us.  We prayed for him when we walked back to our car.  When we got back to our house, I started cleaning out the drawers in the dresser I'm going to paint. Kimmy called me and told me they were here on the back deck.  I was so happy to see them.  We visited on the deck and social distanced since they have a probable case of Covid at Jacob's school.  Vikki and the kids got here next.  She made her, Kimmy and I a specialty coffee that was like Starbucks!  It was delicious!  I made pizza and put it on the deck for lunch.  Vikki sanitized and dished it up.  Also warmed up stuffed peppers and baked potatoes for those that wanted them.  The boys practiced their soccer.  It was fun watching them.  It was a beautiful day and we all enjoyed sitting out on the deck visiting.  I am so thankful every time I look at the deck and think of all the hard work the kids all did and the love they showed us by being such blessings to us.  Joel called us and told us he was using his birthday gift card we got him at Cracker Barrel.  He said his food was really good and thanked us.  We love Joel!  Everybody left to go home.  Jacob and Eli did their famous stand out the window wave.  I talked to Melissa a long time and had a nice talk.  Took the handles off and sanded the dresser upstairs.
