Bill and I went to Kimmy's yesterday and we took lots of pictures while we were there. We got some very cute ones of the boys, even though Jacob likes to run away when he sees a camera now. In one both Adam and Papa are biting their lips. Then there are a few of Sammy. We took him some apples. Jacob carried three for him and the picture turned out so nice. Sammy was his loving, happy self now that the vet took care of him. He sends a big smile to all of you. (See picture) He's my favorite horse in the world and it's so good to see him so happy again. Nutmeg liked her apples too, but she is very lonely now that Celeste isn't there with her.
I especially like the picture of Bruce's laundry on the line. I think he took lessons from Bill as they both hang clothes out the very same way. They need to take lessons from my dad, 91 yrs. of age, who hangs laundry out perfectly. Mom trained him well! I had a good laugh when I saw Bruce's hanging job. He is doing a terrific job taking care of Melissa, Hailey, Max and Champ. I took Hailey to her dance class. I set the video camera up in the corner and taped the teacher so she could practice during the week. I also got Hailey on camera. At first she didn't participate, but when she turned to look at me (I was kneeling behind her) I whispered to her that if she did what the teacher said, I would take her for a surprise when she was done. She stuck her little foot out there and tapped, tapped, tapped. By the end of class she was doing everything and the teacher high-fived her. All the teachers said how great she did this week and asked her if she wanted to lead the train. The kids form a train and march out the door. She said yes and walked right over to get in front of the line. She was so cute. I had to smile. When we got out to the car, she told me she wanted to go to Tim Hortons. Off we went and got donuts for Hailey and the rest of us. I told her I will take her bowling when she goes into her dance class by herself. Now she is talking about doing that so we are excited. When we got to her house and watched the video, she did every single move. Max did all the moves too and was adorable to watch.
Today, Bill did a wedding. It was beautiful and a gorgeous day for it. We went to the reception and God opened the door again to share the miracle He did for Melissa with the couple we were sitting with. I love tellling "what good things the Lord hath done". God is great! On the way home from the wedding, we stopped at a moving sale and hit the jackpot so to speak. Bought a beautiful couch and I don't know what you call the other chair thing. Also got a beautiful patio set with two glider chairs and 4 regular chairs, thick cushions, big table with umbrella and small round table. Also got some nice other things, including a basketball hoop for the grandchildren. Maybe the big children in the family too.

Who are these cuties???

9/27/07

Bill was off early to help a lady that comes to our Bible study with her water heater. It broke and she had to go to work so Bill and Wes got the old one out of her house for her and then Bill spent the day getting a new one and hooking it up for her. She is the nicest lady so it was nice to see her be blessed. I did my daily routine of taking Kenzie to school and then checking on dad. Today dad wanted to find an old coffee pot they used when they camped. We looked and cleaned out many cupboards and finally found it under the benches to the table. He was so happy.
Bill called me when I got home to bring a mop and bucket and mop up the water mess from the hot water heater. I had just been defrosting the freezer in the basement but I put that on halt while I ran down to help. Did a couple of loads of laundry and got it put away when Bruce and the kids stopped over. Hailey put on a concert for us. She really got into her dancing as you can see from the one picture of her. Max was dancing with us quite a bit too. I'm putting on a couple of pictures of him too, but everytime I would snap the picture he would quit smiling. They had to have snacks before leaving nana's of course. Hailey wanted to smell my Yankee candle so I told her to stop and smell the roses as I thought it was a rose fragrance. She smelled it and said it's an apple rose. It actually was cinnamon apple flavored. She was so funny. Went back to dad's after Kenzie got out of school. My visit was cut short when Bill called again and needed me to run him some matches to light the pilot. Kenzie decided to redo her room. She started rearranging the closet first. Did a very good job of organizing it but you should see the rest of the room right now. She has a pile for Jacob, Hailey, Max and trying to find something for Adam. When Bill finally made it home, we went to our favorite Coney place. Bill and I got coneys, fries and a root beer. Kenzie got a hamburg in a basket and a root beer float. It was a fun time out together. We stopped at Melissa's and Bruce's house afterward. She was feeling good at the time and was reclining on the couch. She was getting quite a bit of enjoyment watching Bruce taking care of the kids. We thought we would stop and be entertained too.
I told her she was getting her medicine because the Bible says laughter is like medicine and she sure was laughing. Max said he was nana's boy again, but then he boo booed and said papa's boy. He said it four times. I finally gave up on the little stinker. Came home and ran off the wedding I typed for Bill for Sat. Rehearsal is tomorrow night. I won't be able to go as I am taking Hailey to her dance lesson. I am excited about taking her and seeing how she does.

Today we had lots of fun with Max. He was such a good boy that I didn't even need to put the gates up. I was about to take Kenzie to school when papa came walking out with Max. He had been standing up in his crib. So papa got to enjoy Max's cuddling time instead of me. Boo Hoo. By the time I got home after stopping at dad's, Max had eaten 2 bowls of cereal. He was all smiles. We played for a while, then watched Elmo. We talked to Melissa on the phone. He said Elmo nice and plain to her and gave her a big kiss and also blew her a kiss. He really enjoyed playing with the big cars to the play house and then also with the set of little playschool cars. He ate 2 big bowls of goulash for lunch, then went happily to bed for his nap. It's almost like he was looking forward to going to sleep. We went to pick up Kenzie when he woke up. He likes going to school and seeing all the kids coming out.
We stopped at grandpas and Max started putting his trucks and blanket down in the car as soon as the car was about to stop. He wanted to go in and see grandpa.
He played with the kid toys and also emptied the dog toys. We left for home and played some more. He was really gentle with Mocha. He was just such a good little boy. Took an afternoon nap and by the time he woke up it was time to eat and get ready for Bible Study. I did get my cuddle time in first though. Everyone was happy to see him when they came for Bible Study. He was very good. He told everyone nite nite then off to bed he went. No crying again, he just went right to sleep. Kenzie shared a couple of wonderful testimonies in Bible Study. She is growing up fast on us. Melissa had a terrible headache and called me to have everyone pray for her at Bible study. We usually do prayer requests at the end, but I asked if we could pray for Melissa right away so she wouldn't have to wait until the end of Bible Study for her headache to go away. I talked to her afterward, and she said her headache went away at 7:30 which was the time we were praying. God is great!!!

Melissa had her surgery today so yesterday, after we met at the Texan with Rich and Jane, Hailey came home with papa and I. She was so very good and just as sweet as could be. She is also very helpful. I thought it was so cute at bedtime when she had a snack and she told me she had to brush her teeth right away so her tooth wouldn't crack like mommy's did. She showed me after she brushed and her teeth just sparkled. She's very organized and the minute she got here she started going thru the food bag to plan the menu. After about an hour she was sitting next to me on the couch and she looked up and said. Can we set the timer now for me to go to Aunt Kimmy's. She has really been looking forward to spending the night at Aunt Kimmy and Uncle Jared's. When we went the next day, we got off the expressway and right away she said, this is Aunt Mi Mi's road. She sure is observant. Today we traded and now I have Max. He has been a very good boy too. It was a very big day in his life today. He was calling me Nanny and I said who's boy are you and he looked up and smiled and said Nanny's. First time I have been able to get him to do that. I've had all the other grandkids trained to do that for quite some time and now finally Max said it. Yeah! Hip Hip Horay!!! Kenzie's friend came and spent the day. They had lots of fun. Played here, then we went and got caramel apples, then off to the park we went. On our way to take her home, we got a call from Bruce saying Melissa was home. We stopped over to see her. She's laying down because she gets a headache if she sits up so we are praying it goes away fast and that there is no more swelling in her back. I was so happy when I got the call that they got the pump out successfully. I was concerned as they have never taken one out before. I have been thanking the Lord today. Bill waited with Bruce at the hospital, and I sure wish I could have been there. It was awful waiting at home, but I did enjoy having the kids. Kimmy made lunch for us all when we traded kids. I didn't get pictures of Max and Hailey today, but I will make up for it tomorrow with Max and then also next time I have Hailey. I can't believe I didn't think to take some of Hailey this morning. Guess I was too concerned about Melissa and what she was going through.

9/22/07

Today was another beautiful and fun day. I went to dad's to check on him and see if he wanted to go for a ride up north. While I was there Sara Jo's fiance, Brian, stopped to see if grandpa wanted to go to a sporting good's store. He said yes to both, so he went with Brian and then Bill and I stopped back later to pick him up. Bruce put Taylor's drops in for us and also fed him and let him out while we were gone. We headed up to Tawas and had such a nice drive. Stopped at one garage sale, but didn't see anything we wanted. Walked a ways out on the pier but it was pretty windy out there so didn't want to take dad out too far as his balance isn't the best.
There was a wedding party having their pictures taken by the water. We took a few pictures, then got a call from Kimmy. Jared wanted to borrow our trailer and wanted Bill to ride with him to get something he bought at the auction. We headed to their house. Got there and set up our camping chairs outside and waited for them to get home with the trailer. It was perfect weather for sitting outside. I went to see the horses and take their pictures. Sammy came right up to me and let me pet him. Then he headed quickly for his stall. I went in and he was there waiting for me to give him a treat. I gave him 2 alpha treats. He chomped them right down. He looked so happy. He's my favorite horse in the world. Kimmy and Jared got there after we waited about 20 minutes. I was happy to see the boys again. Grandpa enjoyed seeing them and commented on how good the baby was...just like Jacob he said.
We went in and Kimmy fed us chili for super. She always takes good care of us when we visit. Bill and Jared ate when they got home and then we all had ice cream with chocolate syrup. Jacob played really good while we were there. Adam kept staring at grandpa so grandpa would talk to him and smile at him. Tomorrow I get to have Hailey so I will have pictures of her to put on my blog.
