Fun Pie in the Face game after we left

Melissa brought a fun game called Moose, Match, Mayhem.  We played it while we were there, then Jared, Adam and Hope played after we left.  Fun game!

We read our Bibles and devotions in the morning.  After that, I made meatballs and cream of chicken soup with onion soup mix in the crockpot.  I made plain ole ham rollups with just onion in the center for my fussy Bill.  I bought a stick of Hickory Stick at Jacks and had them slice it up for me so that was super easy.

About an hour before we had to be at Vikki and Rody’s we took about an hour nap.  That’s what we do when we know we have to bring in the New Year.  We got ready and went to back the Jeep out and the garage door opener fell off of Bill’s visor.  We looked for it but couldn’t see it so Bill said he would get out and look when we got to Vikki’s.  It was raining lightly out as we drove there.  Well, we went right in and brought all of the stuff in and totally forgot about the garage door opener.  Vikki had made delicious been dip, plain for Bill, with no burger for Kimmy and regular for the rest of us.  She also made a beautiful veggie plate and had dip for it.  She had everything set up so nice.  Bruce brought a big foil pan of yummy dirt with worms in it.  Yum!  Bill and I were the first ones to get there.  Kimmy and family came second and then Melissa and family came last.
We had lots of fun playing bingo, Apples to Apples, a game Regan and Peyton wanted to play where you draw cards and have to do what it says.  I declined though when one card said to soak my socks in cold water and wear them the rest of the time and then the next one said dump a glass of water over my head.  I got out of those two.  The rest were silly and pretty doable.  Peyton and Regan sure had fun playing it.  They did some of the ones like singing etc that we didn’t want to do.  Next Melissa brought a game and we played Moose Match Mayhem.  I was terrible at that game, but Kimmy was very good.  We turned our cards over after saying that phrase, then we grabbed a card, unless someone threw an avalanche card down. If that happened and you touched a card, you had to turn all of your cards that you were trying to make pairs with.  I needed a couple more sets of eyes I guess.

We played games until it was close to the count down.  Then we put goblet cups Vikki got at the Dollar Store together and poured either Sparkling Juice or pop in them, depending on what each one wanted.  We did the countdown, even though we were off a little a few times.  It was so much fun bringing the New Year in as a family.  We all toasted and wished each other Happy New Year.  Bill and I left after that.  They continued to have fun with the pie in the face game and Melissa’s Moose game.  It was a very fun night.  Bill and I tried to get the garage opener again when we got home.  We couldn’t see it at first, but then saw it between the seat and the consul.  We couldn’t get it, but it did land in a way that it at least opened the garage door for us.  We had to laugh when we saw it go up.  We tried for quite a while, then we saw it go under an inch crack under the consul.  Bill said he would have to take the seat out tomorrow.

We sat in our recliner love seat and wished lots of friends Happy New Year, than at 2, I went to bed.  Bill came to bed a half hour later.

Monday, 12/30/24, Nice day in the mid 40’s, Went grocery shopping to get stuff to make meatballs for New Years Eve party,

No pictures today.  We read our Bibles and devotions and then Bill went out in the shed to work, and I went to Jack’s to get Hickory Stick Sausage and ground beef for the Party at Vikki’s tomorrow night.  Went to pick up a prescription at Walgreens, but the line was so long it blocked cars parked by people who went into the store.  Then when they tried to leave they were blocked in.  I decided to get out of that mess and long line.  I will go back at an off time when it’s not so busy.

I FaceTimed with Vikki and with Kenzie today.  Rehvyn was sure cute playing with his two trucks.  He sure likes to put them on their sides and spin the tires with his hands.  He’s a smart and very cute boy!

I started back on my prescription for Eczema today.  Haven’t had to take anything buy Benadryl for 6 months, but my doctor had warned me about winter flare ups.  I called but couldn’t get an appointment til March and I was already scheduled for my yearly checkup.  The nurse was very nice though and just started me back on what I was on.

We watched a Christmas movie in the evening.  It was a Hallmark movie and was ok, but have seen better.

Sunday, 12/29/24, Went to prayer, then church. Went to Culver’s with Vikki, Rody, Peyton and Isaac, Vikki and Peyton came over

Isaac and Peyton at Culvers, two of the sweetest kiddos ever!
Peyton wanted to look at the Barbies she used to play with.  We went upstairs and got them out of the attic.  She was so cute looking at them and their clothes again.  They were Kenzie’s when she was little.
The candle that Vikki bought me today smells so good.  It reminds us of the smell when we went into stores when the kids were young.

Rainy morning, got really windy later.  We went to prayer, then into the church service.  Worship was really good and the message was so good too.  After church, we went with Vikki, Rody and the kids to Culver’s for lunch.  We all got sundaes with our free scoops coupons.
Bill and I went to Meijer on our way home.  I got another pair of soft jeans and a sweater and Bill got some nice shirts.  They had really good sales so Bill told me to get whatever I wanted.  We came home and he needed a bigger size in one shirt and I needed a bigger size in the jeans because there is no elastic and no zipper.  I took and exchanged them, then came back home.  It was still raining pretty hard, so I sure was thankful to pull into the garage and keep dry.  Bill put the balls he ordered up in the garage to mark where we are supposed to park with having 2 vehicles in there now.

I talked to Vikki and she wanted to come bring me something she bought for me today at Bath & Body Works.  It was a candle she loved the smell of because it brought memories of walking through Penney’s when she was young.  I put it under my candle melter and it made the whole house smell so good.  It stirred up some good memories for me too.  Thank you Vikki, that was so sweet of you.  Peyton wanted to go through the Barbie stuff upstairs, so we went and got it out of the attic.  She had lots of fun going through them and it was fun watching her.  They have been around for a long time as they were Kenzie’s when she was little.  I sure enjoyed their visit and loved my surprise.  They had to leave, so I waved from the door as they went.  Vikki always honks when she leaves too.

Bill did some calling to see what Area Reps are going to Iowa so he can let Jay know to book the rooms at the hotel.  I called Marie and talked to her for a while.  She and Roy are doing well and Roy goes to the doctor tomorrow and finds out if he can drive again.  He couldn’t drive for two weeks after his pacemaker was changed.

Bill and I watched a movie called, Summer Rain, that had the same stars in it as last night’s movie.  It was a good movie too.

Saturday,12/28/24, 57 degrees today, snow is gone! sorted through some old pictures, Bill got one light done on the jeep, Have new area reps for Saginaw and Flint yay!

Isaac walking on the treadmill while I was FaceTiming so I could see it work
Where did the treadmill go?  Where did Lucy go?  I see one under the couch and one under the table.  Very cool how the treadmill fits under the couch.  I’m so happy for Vikki to have it so handy.
My Crown of Thorns plant is blossoming again
Lots more blossoms and buds on the Christmas Cactus too
All the snow disappeared today!  I don’t miss it.

I slept in until 9 this morning.  Bill was already reading his Bible.  I made a coffee for both of us.  He took his out to the shed with him while he worked on the Jeep Lights. I drank mine while I read my Bible.  I went through a box of pictures today and put them in order and moved them to the right places.

I’m having to water my plants more often with them in by the kernel burner.   It’s my best spot for plants, so I’m just going to leave them where they are.

Bill finished the one side of the Jeep, and did a great job.  He is so good at things like that.
He also got a couple to be new Area Reps for CMA in Saginaw, Bay City plus another area which will be assigned.  They were praying on it and called today to let us know they would do it.  Bill is such a great leader and trains up others to become leaders too.  He was sure the right person to become State Coordinator.

We had spaghetti for dinner and now will pick out a movie to watch this evening.

Friday, 12/27/24, Bill had an ECHO done this morning at 7, Kimmy and family headed to Indiana, stopped over to pick up something, visited friend Linda in Rehab, returned Jeans to Amazon at Kohls, Bill worked on the jeep all day

Looks like Kit Kat is trying to be part of the window Nativity
What a Cat

Bill went and had an ECHO done at the VA Hospital.  He read his Bible before he left.  When he got home, he napped for a while in his recliner.  I went in by the fireplace in the family room and read my Bible, made a return slip for some jeans Bill got me, and ate my breakfast. Kimmy, Jared and the boys stopped over to pick up something really quick on their way.  It was nice seeing them in the van, ev

I went to Burger King to pick up a couple of Jr. Whoppers for my friend, Linda, I was going to visit at the rehab.  There were 7 cars ahead of me and only one line.  I let Linda know I was going to be a little late.  When. I finally got up to the place to order, the girl told me they ran out of patties so I couldn’t get Jr. Whoppers.  I checked to see if I could get a regular whopper and she said yes, only the small patties were out.  I picked the food and a Diet Coke up and went to visit her.  She was sitting in her wheelchair. I sat and visited with her while she ate her lunch.  She was happy to have good food.  I helped get nurses when she needed them.  They are short staffed there which makes it hard for the patients who need help getting to the bathroom.  She had a couple of long waits for someone to come help her. I stayed for a couple of hours and then had to leave.  She is so lonely, she cried when I had to leave.  That made me sad.

When I got home, I saw the light on in the shed, so I walked back to talk to Bill and see what he was doing.  He had the fender off the Jeep and was working on putting the new headlights on.  Big job!  I started praying that God would give him wisdom and it would go well.  He worked for a couple more hours, then had to quit and go into town to get some clips for it.

I ate leftovers, but the only thing left that Bill likes was turkey and corn.  I asked him if he wanted me to pick something up for him, and he told me he had to go into town so he would pick something up.

I talked to Kimmy, Melissa and Vikki today.  I am blessed with wonderful, caring daughters.

We watched a very touching Christian movie tonight.  It was called Til I found you.  Sad in the beginning but sure had a wonderful middle and ending.

Thurs., 12/26/24, Bill put his Jeep tire cover on, I fed my hungry birds, Vikki, Rody, Peyton and Isaac came over for leftover day

I was FaceTiming with Kenzie and Rehvyn today, and tried to take a screenshot, but lost Kenzie and could just hear her.  She laughed because that always happens to me.  She told me she would take pictures and send them to me.  She took these first three.  He is a happy and sweet boy!

We slept in til 8:30.  Got up and read our Bibles and devotionals.  I did a couple of loads of laundry.  I washed all the nice kitchen towels Melissa and family got for me, so I can start using them.  They are so soft and nice, besides being pretty.  I wore my two pairs of shoes I got for Christmas.  They are so comfortable!

I went outside and fed the birds.  Vikki and family got me another bird food deck storage container.  I put it by my other one and put the big 50 lb. bag of food in it.  It is so nice to have everything I need to feed the birds, on the deck close to where I feed them.  It got up to 37 degrees out today and was a nice day to fill the feeders.

Kenzie and Rehvyn FaceTimed me and we had fun.  Rehvyn was so cute!  I look forward to them FaceTiming me.

Bill went and got the jeep washed, then he put the tire cover the girls got him for Christmas on.  It looks so nice.

In the evening, Vikki, Rody, Peyton and Isaac came over for leftovers.  It is our tradition.  We ate good food and then had fun hanging out together.   I forgot to take pictures of the kids.  They wanted ice cream for dessert instead of pie.  So I told them where it was and they got it out, filled their bowls, and ate.  Isaac gave me a hug goodbye and then left with Rody.  Vikki and Peyton went out to the car, and Peyton came back to the front door and gave me a hug because she forgot.  I sure love hugs from grandkids.
