We went to the 9 am service at church today.  Got there early so Bill could pray over Pastor with the elders.  I went back in my Sunday School room and got things ready.  My helper for today, Renee came in the room and introduced herself.  I hadn’t met her before.  She was so nice.  We went into the church service.  Worship was amazing.  Josh was singing again after having some problems with his voice and much prayer for it.  Melody was singing and a new girl.  Brittany was playing the piano for worship for the first time and did great.  The songs were so moving.  We took communion after worship and it was a worshipful time too.  Pastor Ken does the best job explaining communion, stressing to examine our hearts and gives us time to do so, explains it so well and makes it such a special time of remembering what Jesus did for us.

I went back to teach Sunday School.  Marika was my teen helper.  Coleen was back to help Thomas.  They were all amazing helping with the kids.  The kids were amazing too and no one got their name on the board.  They listened and answered the questions so well.  Love these kiddos.

After church, we came home, changed, then went to meet Bev and Jim at the Midland Fairgrounds to walk through the flea market.  It was so huge.  Lots of stuff to look at. After we were done looking, we got food to eat.  The three of them got hamburgers and I got a walking taco.  We all liked our food and had a nice time talking while we ate.

We went to the Country Creamery afterwards and got ice cream cones and Jim got a shake.  Their ice cream is the best.  Their waffle cones are fresh and delicious too.

Bill and I went to Stacie and DJ’s after that.  She had called and wanted to know if we could come over because we hadn’t gotten together for Mother’s Day.  She is like a daughter to us.  We drove by our two previous homes on our way.  Always fun to do that.  Brings back lots of great memories.  We visited with Stacie and DJ on their back patio which they have worked on and made so nice.  Stacie also took me in to show me their screened in porch which they have re done.  It’s her happy place now.  So beautiful and I am so happy for her.  She is such a sweet caring person.  They gave me a very pretty and sweet Mother’s Day Card.  We had such a fun time visiting with them.

We got home, and I turned the sprinkler on and watered the garden.  Bill put the butterfly bell garden stake in the garden for me.  I used the sprinkling can and watered our plants we just planted.

Wes and Gayla came at around 7.  We visited in the living room and talked about out plans for our upcoming camping trip to Irons.  After that we played 3-13.  I didn’t start out so well, but then Gayla accidentally threw me a wild card.  Then she dealt the next hand and turned up a wild card for me.  Then I got about 3 pat hand winning hands.  Wow!  I just kept going backwards and ended up winning.  Gayla had said that whoever wins gets the red camping chairs with the umbrella in the family room.  Ha ha!  I sure did good after she said that.  We ate M & M’s, cashews and pecans mixed together for our snack.  Vikki FaceTimed me and we all got to see Rehvyn outside practically running.  He loves it outside so much.  I wish I could have got the wagon over to her.  I am taking it to her tomorrow.  He’s going to love being pulled in that.

Saturday, 5/31/25, Took Sue to Aldi’s to get groceries, took Peyton home, went to Lapeer, won $250 worth of things at fundraiser,

Jim, Bev and Jim’s Guardian that was appointed for his Honor Flight in June
Bill and I at the fundraiser dinner for the Honor Flight.  The food was so delicious.
Bev by her bike.  She just started driving it again after having shoulder surgery
Bill loaded all of the $250 worth of stuff we won in the motorcycle.  I was pretty amazed that he could fit everything in it, especially the wagon in the trunk.  I carried the blue beach blanket on my lap, with the strap over my shoulder.

On our ride home.  It was very windy.  We were happy to get home sweet home.
Below are the pictures of what we won!

Nice chair set with umbrella, cooler storage and pockets we won
Nice almost 7 ft. x 7 ft. Beach blanket we won with the chair set
Nice Wagon we won with the chair set

Pretty wrapped Store’s gift box we won
This is what was in the S'mores gift box...a Nice wire basket, graham crackers, 4 marshmallow expandable roaster sticks, square marshmallows, Hershey bars and mosquito spray (the sunscreen is in the picture, but came with the beach chair set)
Ha Ha, Bill and I took a selfie in the chairs.  They are really comfy and the umbrella covers all of us!

Started the day out by picking up my friend Sue and taking her to Aldi’s to get groceries she needed.  She had made her list out so it was easy.  I picked up a few things I needed too and we kept them separate in the cart.  We saw Sarah, Nathan, and their new baby who is 5 months old, Thor, in the store and talked to them for a while.  We packed up our groceries and I took her home and carried things in for her and helped her put some of the groceries away.  She gave me a nice long hug and thanked me and prayed for me.  She is really missing Charlie who died last August.  I can’t even imagine how hard that would be.

I took Peyton home and on the way I was thinking of how I always said a scripture to Kenzie on the way to school or wherever I took her. I would usually say Psalm 103:1-5 to her because I wanted her to memorize it.  I was thinking of that, but then I started thinking I should tell her the scripture that says Seek Ye first the kingdom of God and all these things will be added unto you.  I was going to tell her it when I got to her house before she got out of the car.  Well Kimmy called, and we talked to her and I completely forgot about it.  I had given Peyton $5 and told her it reminded me of a cute video she sent me.  Well when I got to her house, before she got out of the car, she told me she hid it on me.  She got out to get her stuff out of the backseat and I saw it hidden under something in the cup holder.  I quick threw it out the door just before she shut it.  I locked the car right away, making her take it.
When I drove and was about a mile away, a new song came on the radio.  It was Seek Ye first the Kingdom of God and was so beautiful.  I knew God was letting me know I needed to call Peyton and tell her that Scripture.  I love it when God does those things.

Bill and I got ready and left on the motorcycle to meet Jim and Bev in Lapeer for a fundraiser for the Veteran’s Honor Flight.  They had such yummy food and desserts.
We had a nice time visiting with Bev and Jim and also Jim’s appointed guardian for the honor flight and his wife.  Bill’s honor flight guardian called him and it is a 40+ year old lady.  That seems kind of weird.  There were a few ladies at the dinner who were guardians for the honor flights.  We will have to meet Bill’s and see what we think.  You would think they would put men with men.  We won a S’mores basket first with a blue ticket.  Then we won the beach chair set with a red ticket.  We had only bought 3 red tickets.  We were amazed we won and were very happy.  Bill thought we could get everything loaded on the Trike.  I wasn’t so sure.  He was right thought.  We did!  I carried the blue beach blanket on my lap which was easy.

We had to ride in some pretty strong wind, so we were very happy to get home.  I worked more on my Sunday School lesson when I got home after we went through everything ad added up the prices.  Unbelievable that it added up to $250.  Such a blessing from the Lord.
I FaceTimed with Vikki, then Kimmy, then Melissa.  That’s the order they called me.  It was fun showing them and talking to them.  They are always so happy when we get blessed.  We are when they get blessed too.  Family Love!  Eli talked to me on FaceTime and let me know how hard he worked taking the old fence down and rolling it up and carrying it.  He got sunburned too, but says it’s a tan and it doesn’t burn at all.  I prayed with them in agreement that it won’t.  I am super proud of how hard he worked and how helpful he is.

Friday, 5/30/25, Peyton slept in, Kimmy, Vikki and Isaac came over, Sue came over, great day hanging out together, sat outside lots, Bill took to v

I went to pick Sue up and while I was gone Kimmy edged my whole flower garden.  She did a great job and did it super fast.  We got back 20 minutes after I left.  Thank you so much Kimmy!  That wasn’t an easy job to get it that good.

We got up before Peyton.  She was still watching a movie when I went to bed at midnight, so I let her sleep.  I blew off the deck, then washed the tables off that are on the deck.  I put cones up for Sue to see so she wouldn’t miss the step again.  I got the 2 loaves of bread out of the bread makers and put them on the cupboard to cool.  I covered them with towels.  Kimmy got here and we talked to Vikki on the phone.  She wanted us to come to an Estate sale she and Isaac were at.  We went there and it was the nicest Estate sale I’ve ever been to.  So organized and such nice things.  I spent $90.  I got a bench, a heater for the camper, a cute metal planter/stand, a really soft blanket, a pair of scissors, some storage containers, and a deep big cookie sheet. The girls got lots of stuff too. The girls working were so nice.  When I was in the basement, one girl came and got the blanket I was carrying and a pair of scissors I called Bill and told him he should come look at stuff.  Isaac carried the bench way down the road where we were parked and I carried the rest of my stuff.  The van was locked so Isaac and I sat on the bench.  It was very comfortable.  Kimmy and Vikki finished and we headed home.  We passed Bill, so he stopped and Isaac got out and went with him back to the sale.   He bought stuff too.  We got home and Vikki and Kimmy looked up prices of things we bought and wow did we save lots of money.  I went to pick up Sue and when we got back, Kimmy had my flower garden all edged really well so grass would grow into it.  I was so thankful.  I felt bad though because I could see Kimmy worked really hard.  Thank you Kimmy.  I cut the bread and got the egg salad out and we all made our sandwiches for lunch.  We had sheet cake for dessert, except Kimmy wouldn’t eat any when she heard it had sour milk in it.  We went outside and sat on the swings on the deck for a long time visiting.  Sue was having a hard time with depression and this was so good for her to be able to talk and have people around.  I’m going to take her to get groceries tomorrow, so will get her out of the house again.  It started raining so we stayed out for a while, then later when the rain picked up and it got windy, we came back in the house.  We visited more at the table and ate a whole big bag of kettle corn.  We came in the living room and Kimmy and Vikki decided to bring the mattress in our room downstairs upstairs, and the one we’ve been sleeping on upstairs downstairs.  The one going up was super heavy.  Kimmy was on the bottom and Vikki and Isaac on the top and they were telling me I couldn’t help.  Well I was worried about Vikki’s shoulder and Kimmy by herself on the bottom, so I went and helped.  It was a good thing.  That mattress was so hard to get upstairs.  It took all of us holding it away from the rail and away from the chandelier plus getting it up the steps.  Kimmy changed places with Isaac.   We did it, but we sure were tired.  Then Vikki and I made the beds up while Kimmy visited with Sue.  Jack and Evan got here and they left will Bill to go meet Eli and go to the Loons game.  It was sprinkling.  They had a delay, but then it got nice out and they enjoyed themselves.  They got food there because the Meijer food coupons they had were only good for Tuesday’s.  That had been their plan.

Everyone left and I took Sue home.  Peyton stayed at my house so we could watch the K Love Fan Awards.  We loved watching them.  They were so good and such great singers who love Jesus and sing about the gospel.  We watched it a second tie with Bill.  It was such a fun night.

Thurs., 5/29/25, Made a sheet cake, went to visit Marie and Roy, Peyton came over to spend the night, we watched The War Room movie

Peyton, my sweet granddaughter who is spending the night
Peyton and I sitting on the bench while we had been watching the fish
My Clematis is getting lots of blossoms now.  it is so pretty.

We slept upstairs and had a great sleep on that mattress again.  I made a mocha latte coffee and then went in the living room with Bill and we read our Bibles.  I started making a sheet cake.  I wanted to take some to Marie and Roy.
I made the biggest mess ever making it. I turned the mixer on by mistral instead of moving the lever to lift the beater part up. Splash splash I got a bath and so did the mixer, the cupboard and the floor. It’s amazing what can happen in 2 seconds. lol.  Then I used a 15x12 cookie sheet. It was full but i thought I could be really careful and put it in the oven without spilling it. Wrong! I looked down and there was a puddle of cake mixture on the floor. I cleaned the cookie sheet bottom and sides off, the tried again with success.  It was done in 15 minutes, so I cleaned up the big messes while it baked and made frosting.  I frosted it and the frosting started running over the edges.  Yikes.
I called Marie to let her know I would be late.  I left after I packed some cake for them.  I stopped at Souper Cafe and got some Pot Pie soup for Roy since he loved it last time.  I got there and they needed my help.  They had ordered two twin bed 3 piece bedspread sets and Roy had put one on one of the beds in the extra room and they couldn’t find the other one in the package.  Of course I prayed first which is what they had done too Roy said.  We looked all over then Roy said we should look in the basement.  He and I went down and looked all over and then he was going through drawers in a big cabinet when I turned the corner by him and found it in a bag. We were all so happy.  We sat in the living room and visited and prayed together.  Marie sent me home with some yummy homemade vegetable soup they had made.  That was so sweet of her.  I also took some pots, pans, cookie sheets, cake pans and the two bedspreads they took off the twin beds which are beautiful.  I am going to donate them to ministry partners of our church when we have the collection at church.  I came home and Peyton came to spend the night.  We watched the War Room and she loved it.  I thought she would.  She said me and the older lady that was the prayer warrior could be great friends.  I love my Peyton girl!  She watched another movie, but Bill and I went upstairs to bed.

Peyton by my favorite bush

Had a good night sleep again last night upstairs.  Bill did too until he woke up at 4:30.  He wss sleeping again when I woke up.  I got up at 6 and went outside and planted the pumpkins and cucumbers in the back garden.  I realized I forgot Butternut Squash.  I also tried some long branches in the woods by my plants.  I came in and called Vikki to see if she was bringing the kids.  She had forgot so it’s a good thing I called.  She brought them over and we all worked on planting the garden.  They have been helping us plant our garden since they were little.  We were thankful for all their help again.  They make the job go fast.  They work hard and do it with a great attitude, having fun while working.  We talked to Kimmy a long time while we were resting in our chairs for a while.

After we were done, Bill left to go pick up Max.  They went to Clare.  Vikki, the kids and I went to Chick-fil-A.  Vikki and I had a grilled chicken wrap, chicken noodle soup and lemonade.  The kids had chicken strips, fries and shakes.  We all love our food.  I sure made a mess with that huge wrap.  I probably won’t get one of those again just because my mouth isn’t big enough to eat it nicely.  I made a mess.  When we were done eating, a nice kid came and started sweeping under our table while we moved our feet.  He apologized for the mess and I told him I was sorry because I made the mess.  He cleaned it up nicely and was going to mop it when we left.  Chicken pieces fell out of my wrap.  Vikki ate hers nicely without making any mess.  We left and went to Goodwill.  Vikki found those cute lamps and I got them. She took Isaac home and then went to therapy for the last time for her arm.  I brought Peyton home with me.  We watched a Podcast she likes.  I almost fell asleep during it because I was so relaxed in my recliner.   Vikki came to pick her up as soon as she got done with therapy.  She walked around the house with me to look at my new plants before she left and then she took a picture of Peyton by my snowball bush.  Bill got home and I asked him if he noticed anything different.  He didn’t.  I showed him the lights.  I went to Walmart and picked up some Butternut Squash and some parsley.  I also got a pretty plant I am going to plant and hang outside.  It is small, yellow and very pretty.

Melissa called me while I was in Walmart, so I called her back when I got hme.  We FaceTimed each other and she showed me the planter she and Hailey planted flowers in.  It was beautiful. I had given it to her and now she refills it each year.  I showed her the new shrubs we got too, and my planters.  I talked to Sue earlier today and she might come to spend the day with us Friday.  She has been having a hard time and still grieving so I told her it would be good for her to get out and come for lunch and to hang out.  She sounded like she wants too.  Marie called me and said she had a good doctor’s appt.  She told me all about it.  I was happy to hear it went well.  She does have to have an X-ray to make sure there are no fractures from her fall again the other day.  I am going to visit her tomorrow.

Bill and I had a banana split at home after we had a chance to relax.  We only ate lunch today, so I guess you could say that was our dinner.  Vikki, Rody and the kids went to Chick-Fil-A because Rody hasn’t been there.  Vikki and the kids didn’t mind going again she said lol.  I worked on my blog.  So very thankful for family that is always willing to help.
