Tuesday, 1/7/25, Jacob’s moving day, Kimmy, Jared and Jacob stopped, Bill went to lunch with TBone and his brother, got three rooms cleaned here, made chili,

Kimmy took this picture of me and Jacob this morning when they stopped over
Jacob in his room when it was all done

I warmed the leftovers from yesterday’s Denny’s breakfast.  We read our Bibles, then Bill had to leave to go meet a friend from church and his brother.  Kimmy, Jared and Jacob stopped to pick up the stuff Vikki had for Jacob’s apartment, and also the stuff I got together for his apartment. We sure love our Jacob.  After they loaded everything in Jacob’s car and their van, they left to go move him in.  I cleaned three rooms while Bill was gone.  Next week we go to Iowa, then when we get back there are only a few days before we have our Christmas party for Bill’s side of the family.  The day before our party I’m staying with a dear friend to help her out, so the more I get done before we leave the better.

Kimmy took a video of his apartment and sent it to me. She also sent me some pictures.  I was sure thinking about them a lot and was so happy when I got the pictures and video.  It was nice talking to Kimmy.  I made chili while Bill worked in the shed on some locks for the Jeep.  I called Sue to see if she wanted some chili and she did, so I dropped some off to her.  We visited for a few minutes, then I headed home before my car cooled off.  It is super cold with the wind chill.  Bill and I each had a bowl of chili for dinner, then I packed up some to take to Maddy tomorrow when I meet her for coffee.  Her baby just got over RSV and her 2 year old just got over having pneumonia,  I wanted to drop food off when they were going through that, but too much was going on and also had an eczema flare up so didn’t really feel like doing much or going anywhere.  Last night I was up most of the night because it was so itchy.  Vikki sent me an amazing worship song this morning and it was right on time and just what I needed to hear.  I sent it to my friend, Tina, from church.  I also worshipped to a song called The Blood, a friend posted yesterday.  It is a powerful song because it’s Jesus blood that sets us free from our sin and shame and the song declares this, and there is so much thankfulness expressed in the song for what Jesus did. I just have to stop and raise my hands and worship Him.  My eczema was so much better today!  Praising Jesus.  I spent time thanking Him for Bill which I am doing often.  He is such a godly man and such a caring and wonderful husband, such a great dad to the girls, and such a wonderful grandpa to the grandkids.  He just keeps getting better and better.

Kimmy called and had taken another video of Jacob’s room all done, and also a picture.  She said the landlord came and he had brought a toaster, coffee pot, a spatula and some other things for the kitchen so the boys could use them.  Jared and Kimmy think he is very nice.  They met Jacob’s roommate whose name is Jared, and his mom and thought they were nice too.

We had banana splits again for our dessert.  Yummy cookies and cream ice cream and lots of toppings.

Monday, 1/6/25, Bill picked up Vikki’s stuff for Jacob’s apartment, We met Debbie at Bob Evans, Got things Kimmy needed from Walmart, went to Melissas,Went to Trinity Riders meeting

Pretty silver ring Debbie got me and all of the sisters for her
being a two time cancer survivor.  So sweet of her

Bill went to pick up stuff Vikki has for Jacob’s apartment and also was picking up some things I needed to make chili. I put on worship music and then was going to drink my coffee and eat breakfast.  Debbie called me and said she was in town for tests and wanted to know if I could meet her for breakfast at 11:15.  She asked me to let Bill know too.  I called him and he was almost home.  He dropped off the stuff for the chili, then he had to pick up a snowplow attrachment for his John Deere tractor.  He was going to try to meet Debbie and I.
Debbie called me and made the time for later because she didn’t get called back for her appointment yet.  That worked out better, because when she called and said she was going to Bob Evans, Bill had just got back.  He unhooked the trailer and then we left to go meet her.  I couldn’t believe the parking lot was so full. Hadn’t see that happen for a very long time.  We went in and Debbie was sitting waiting for us.  They were short handed because some of their help didn’t show up.  We waited, then decided to go to Denny’s.  We got right in.  We had a great breakfast and a great visit.  Debbie gave me a ring she had made by a jeweler that her niece works for.  It is pretty and shiny.  She gave me a typed note explaining the meaning behind the ring....being cancer free twice now.  I know all of the other sisters will be happy when they get theirs too.

We came home and then Bill went out to put the plow on the tractor and I went to Walmart to pick up some things for Kimmy.  I went to Melissa’s after that.  My mouth was very dry from taking benedryl, so I asked her if she had a water bottle.  She was sweet and got one for me.

In the evening, we went to Trinity Rider’s CMA meeting.  It was nice seeing everyone because we haven’t gone there for a while.   We just had coffee and dessert because we were still full from our big breakfast.  Bill shared some things he needed to let the chapter know.
When we got home, I bagged up all the stuff for Jacob so it’s all ready when they come to pick it up in the morning.  Then I went in with Bill and relaxed and worked on my blog.

Sunday, 1/5/25, Went to prayer, than church service, picked up night stand for Kimmy, gathered stuff I have to give Jacob for his apartment,

Our ice cream snack. Mine above, Bill’s below!

Woke up to another very cold and windy day.  Went to prayer, then into church service. Amazing worship this morning. I taught Sunday School today.  After church, we picked up the night stand that Kimmy ordered.  It wasn’t far to go.  We came home and ate burgers and mashed potatoes for dinner.  We read our Bibles and devotionals. I listened to Pastor’s message online.  It was really good.

I gathered the things I have to give to Jacob for his apartment and sent Kimmy pictures so she would know so she wouldn’t have to buy it.  He moves in on Tuesday.

Bill and I had ice cream with bananas and our favorite toppings.  Talked to Kimmy and Vikki for a while.  Vikki was excited about a Bible she got and read some to me with the commentary.  My kids and grandkids are faithful to read the Bible.  It makes me so happy because the Word of God is life changing!  It transforms us by the renewing of our mind the Bible says.

We watched the Lions Game.

Sat. 1/4/25, Hailey and Peyton got up at 9:30, Bill went to pick up something he found for the Jeep on Facebook Market Place, went shopping with Peyton, played games

I had so much fun playing Tonk and 3-13 with Peyton.  I tried to help her by letting her have the card that was wild she threw back, but I still won.
Made these Texas Roadhouse rolls today.  They were a fundraiser of Evan’s and we bought 2 batches.  They tasted so good with the special butter that came with them.  YUM!
Baby Mason is all better today and looking so cute.  Maddy sent me these pictures.  I am sure happy they are both feeling good now.
Brielle happy and her pneumonia is gone. Yay!

Bill and I got up at 9.  I had my coffee and Bill drank his protein drink.  We read our Bibles and devotions.  The girls came downstairs at about 9:45.  They told me they went to sleep at midnight.  Bill left to go pick up his FaceBook Market Place item in Birch Run.  Peyton sat by the heater in the living room while Hailey and I ate cereal and drank coffee at the kitchen table.  We had a nice talk about a lot of things.
Peyton came out and said she would have eggs when she went home.  I asked her if she wanted me to make eggs and she said yes and told me she would make the toast.  I made her eggs over medium like she wanted and she made toast for herself and a slice form me. Hailey left to go to her house at 11:40 because they were celebrating Christmas with Grandma Debbie and Grandpa Ron.
Peyton and I decided to go look at some “Converse” shoes at Under the Railroad Resale Shop.  Her friend had texted her about them.  We got there and found them and they were too small.  Bummer.  We decided to go across the street to the Salvation Army Store.  We didn’t find anything there either.  We went to the Pet Store next door and I got a vacation 2 wk feeder for my fish in the basement for when we go to Iowa.  We came home and played a game of Tonk and a game of 3-13.  She is so fun to play with.  I won both games and right away she said Winner Picks Up so that meant me.  She said I was the one that came up with that lol.  She snacked on Chicklet Chops while we played.  That’s how she said Chocolate Chips when she did Virtual School here during Covid.  She showed me lots of funny You Tube videos and lots of Lauren Daegle videos.  After we finished playing she was ready for me to take her home.  It was 5pm, and was so bitter cold, in the low 20’s and very windy.  She wore my heated jacket home because she didn’t bring a coat.  I always like to make sure we have warm stuff when we go out in this weather in case we get stranded for some reason.
Best to be prepared.  I went in and visited with Vikki for a few minutes and said hi to Rody and Isaac. Lucy wanted lots of attention from me so I gave her lots.  I didn’t stay real long because I didn’t want the car to cool off.  I got home and baked the Texas Roadhouse rolls and made hamburgers and mashed potatoes.  After we ate, we relaxed in our recliners.  I talked to Melissa for a while and then Kimmy for a while too.  I did some filing upstairs so now I can pack all the 2024 files away and start new 2025 files.

Friday, 1/3/25, Went to the VA Hospital in Ann Arbor for Bill’s MRI, Picked up Peyton and met Hailey at Coco Loco, the girls spent the night, watched Little Houses

Fun time with Peyton and Hailey at Coco Loco
Hanging out and watching Little House Episodes....I think Papa and I watched it more then they did

We got up at 8 and got ready to go to Bill’s appointment.  He showered and I packed Hickory Stick, chips, candy bars to take on our road trip to Ann Arbor.  I also made us coffee to drink on the way.  We had time after getting ready to read our Bibles and devotions and I went out and fed the poor hungry birds.  There were sure lots of them out there trying to get the food that was left out there.  It was cold in the 20’s and very windy.  Brrrrr.
Kit Kat is really liking being in her igloo house.

We had a nice trip, enjoyed our snacks and were happy the roads were clear all the way.  We got to the VA Hospital at 1:30 and his appt. wasn’t til 2:15, but they took him back for his MRI 15 minutes after we got there.  We even had time to walk through the VA Patriot Store while we were there.  We were able to get home sooner to pick up Peyton and meet Hailey at Coco Loco.  We got seated right away.  I had my usual 1/2 size beef and bean Nacho, Bill had the same with no cheese or cheese sauce, Hailey had a taco meal with Guacamole, and Peyton had chicken nuggets and fries.  We all drank water so we wouldn’t be full so fast.  That was Hailey’s idea and we all followed.

We came home and Hailey wanted to take a shower right away so she didn’t smell like Mexican food.  She’s too funny.  Later we watched Little House Episodes and snacked on chips, M & M’s, and trail mix.  I didn’t remember seeing one episode we watched.

Thursday, January 2, 2025

sThurs., 1/2/25, Fun day having Eli and Evan here, Bill showed Mike V. our motorhome, Kimmy, Jared, and Jacob stopped to pick up Eli, Bill and I took Evan home and got some things to have for when Peyton and Hailey spend the night, Ran into Vikki and the Mulder’s in Menards

Evan and Eli came in from outside.  I had Brandon Lake playing on Google.  Evan told me he loved the song “Can’t Count em” that was playing.  Then they both went in to the living room and started singing.  They would pick worship songs they liked and sing them.  I love hearing them.
When Jacob got her I took this picture of the three boys
Nice dishes we found for Jacob

Bill and I got up at 9.  We got ready and then drank our coffee and read our Bibles. I read some on my book that a friend from church wrote and got published.  It’s called Beginning a New Intimacy with Jesus and the Scriptures.
The boys didn’t get up until almost noon.  They stayed up until 3 in the morning, so needed extra sleep.  They came downstairs and relaxed for a few minutes in the family room, then ate breakfast.  I offered to make eggs, but they wanted cereal.  Bill and I ate some Frosted Mini Wheats.

The boys had fun hanging out and playing ping pong.  They went outside a few times, but didn’t stay out too long because it was cold and very windy. They had fun singing when they came in.  They are both good singers and sing right out.  I listened from the kitchen, because I was unloading the dishwasher and doing some other small tasks.

Kimmy, Jared and Jacob stopped over to pick up Eli.  They had success finding a place for Jacob for this semester of college.  It looks really nice.  I had baggies of M&M’s and gave Evan and Eli a bag.  Then I packed up three more bags for Jared, Jacob and Adam.  I packed up some homemade bread that was buttered for Kimmy.  They left so they could get home to Adam.  He stayed home while they went apartment hunting.  Bill showed Mike V. our motorhome as he is thinking of getting one and wanted to see what our was like.

After they left, Bill and I took Evan home in the Jeep.  Evan loved riding in it for the first time.  We dropped him off, then went to Jacks Market to get deli Oven Roasted Turkey which Hailey likes.  We went to Walmart after that and got some things Hailey and Peyton like for when they stay tomorrow night.  Looking so forward to that!  Kenzie called and talked to me while I was walking around in Walmart.  We found some really nice plastic microwave and dishwasher safe dishes for Jacob that were only 50 cents each.  I had some here but then thought about it and they are Corelle flowered design and kind of girly for a guy apartment.  We paid and left there and decided to walk around Menards so it would be dark when we drove home.  Vikki called Bill and was in the store too.  She had seen our Jeep in the parking lot.  We met her in an aisle and then the Mulders (Tasha, Ryan and Jacob) joined us.  We left after we tried to help Vikki find a bulb for a light she needed.  Bill said he has one in the shed he can give her.  It was dark which was good because Bill wanted me to see how nice the new headlights he put in the Jeep are.  Wow, I could sure see good.  He did an amazing job putting them in and wiring them.

We watched a movie.  It was a Faith and Spirituality movie on Prime, but I can’t remember the name.  It was a cute movie.

Wed., 1/1/25, Happy New Year! Slept in til about 10, Bill worked on the Jeep lights and got them in, Rody came to hook them up to Bluetooth, Eli and Evan are spending the night, Yay!

Snowy day outside

Beautiful mushrooms Lela made and I was blessed that she thought of me and gave me two.  Thank you so much sweet friend and also mother of our amazing son in law, Jared.
Lots of work and love went into cute stitching and putting buttons on.  She sure made them look cute!  They will look so cute in my flower garden!

I made coffee for both of us and used Kimmy mugs.  They always make the coffee taste better.  Hailey always drinks water out of the tumblers Kimmy made for me and she says the water tastes better in her tumblers too.  I guess that confirms it.  I listened to worship while I was eating,  then went in by Bill and we both read our Bibles,  He went out to work on the Jeep lights afterward and I organized some pictures and did yesterday’s blog.  Vikki stopped and had Peyton run my purse up to the door. I forgot it at their house last night.  They had to take Regan home and it was close by.

I got a text from Eli asking if he and Evan could spend the night.  I texted him back as soon as I saw it and said sure!  I love it when grandkids want to spend the night.  Rody came over to help Bill set up Bluetooth for the lights on the Jeep.  He told me he had a meatball sub today with the meatballs I left there.  I told him I had one too.  He had to photograph a wedding today and it was an outside one.  Rody said it was short, about 45 minutes, but cold because the wind was blowing.  I talked to Melissa, Kimmy and Vikki today on our phones.

Eli wanted his usual Pizza for dinner and Evan, Bill and I had mashed potatoes with meatballs and gravy on top.  I made corn too, but it took so long all of us were too full to eat it.  I usually get steamable but got the regular corn that takes lots longer.

The boys are having fun hanging out, Bill is napping in his recliner by me, It’s a relaxing night.
