Melissa had her surgery today so yesterday, after we met at the Texan with Rich and Jane, Hailey came home with papa and I. She was so very good and just as sweet as could be. She is also very helpful. I thought it was so cute at bedtime when she had a snack and she told me she had to brush her teeth right away so her tooth wouldn't crack like mommy's did. She showed me after she brushed and her teeth just sparkled. She's very organized and the minute she got here she started going thru the food bag to plan the menu. After about an hour she was sitting next to me on the couch and she looked up and said. Can we set the timer now for me to go to Aunt Kimmy's. She has really been looking forward to spending the night at Aunt Kimmy and Uncle Jared's. When we went the next day, we got off the expressway and right away she said, this is Aunt Mi Mi's road. She sure is observant. Today we traded and now I have Max. He has been a very good boy too. It was a very big day in his life today. He was calling me Nanny and I said who's boy are you and he looked up and smiled and said Nanny's. First time I have been able to get him to do that. I've had all the other grandkids trained to do that for quite some time and now finally Max said it. Yeah! Hip Hip Horay!!! Kenzie's friend came and spent the day. They had lots of fun. Played here, then we went and got caramel apples, then off to the park we went. On our way to take her home, we got a call from Bruce saying Melissa was home. We stopped over to see her. She's laying down because she gets a headache if she sits up so we are praying it goes away fast and that there is no more swelling in her back. I was so happy when I got the call that they got the pump out successfully. I was concerned as they have never taken one out before. I have been thanking the Lord today. Bill waited with Bruce at the hospital, and I sure wish I could have been there. It was awful waiting at home, but I did enjoy having the kids. Kimmy made lunch for us all when we traded kids. I didn't get pictures of Max and Hailey today, but I will make up for it tomorrow with Max and then also next time I have Hailey. I can't believe I didn't think to take some of Hailey this morning. Guess I was too concerned about Melissa and what she was going through.

Today was another beautiful and fun day. I went to dad's to check on him and see if he wanted to go for a ride up north. While I was there Sara Jo's fiance, Brian, stopped to see if grandpa wanted to go to a sporting good's store. He said yes to both, so he went with Brian and then Bill and I stopped back later to pick him up. Bruce put Taylor's drops in for us and also fed him and let him out while we were gone. We headed up to Tawas and had such a nice drive. Stopped at one garage sale, but didn't see anything we wanted. Walked a ways out on the pier but it was pretty windy out there so didn't want to take dad out too far as his balance isn't the best.
There was a wedding party having their pictures taken by the water. We took a few pictures, then got a call from Kimmy. Jared wanted to borrow our trailer and wanted Bill to ride with him to get something he bought at the auction. We headed to their house. Got there and set up our camping chairs outside and waited for them to get home with the trailer. It was perfect weather for sitting outside. I went to see the horses and take their pictures. Sammy came right up to me and let me pet him. Then he headed quickly for his stall. I went in and he was there waiting for me to give him a treat. I gave him 2 alpha treats. He chomped them right down. He looked so happy. He's my favorite horse in the world. Kimmy and Jared got there after we waited about 20 minutes. I was happy to see the boys again. Grandpa enjoyed seeing them and commented on how good the baby was...just like Jacob he said.
We went in and Kimmy fed us chili for super. She always takes good care of us when we visit. Bill and Jared ate when they got home and then we all had ice cream with chocolate syrup. Jacob played really good while we were there. Adam kept staring at grandpa so grandpa would talk to him and smile at him. Tomorrow I get to have Hailey so I will have pictures of her to put on my blog.

9/21/07

Here are the fun pictures from yesterday and some from today when I babysat Jacob and Adam. The boys both slept thru the night. Adam woke up at 6:45 and ate really good for me. I held him for a while then he went back to sleep until 9:30. Jacob didn't wake up until 9:45. He ate 3 bowls of cereal. Papa taught him how to eat a cereal from the scoop on his tractor. I videoed it. Jacob asked to get down while he was eating to go potty. He went, then got back up in his highchair and finished his breakfast. What a big boy! We hung laundry out. Jacob handed me the clothes pins and had so much fun bringing them to me. Then we played outside for a while.
We went in for lunch and Jacob ate 2 pieces of pizza. He is a growing boy I guess.
He and Adam were just a joy to have. They are so good natured and happy. I loved having them. Kimmy and Jared came and I started fixing chili for a motorcycle run on Sunday. Then I made goulash to take to dad before heading over to meet Melissa at Hailey's dance place so I could watch Max for her. He played with 2 trucks and kept himself entertained. He watched Hailey through the window with me for a while.
She looked so cute. She really improved from the week before as she is a little shy about going by herself. Went home and Bill and I took Kenzie to Melissa's while we went up to the hospitals to visit 3 people. Had very nice, prayerful visits that were very touching. On the way home we talked to Vikki, so she, Rody and Kenzie met us at Culvers for a burger and Cememt Mixer (like a Blizzard at Dairy Queen). Had fun visiting with them.
