Hailey and Nana's trip to the Apple Orchard

Today Hailey and I went on her field trip to the pumpkin patch. Her teacher was really nice and is great with the children. I like helping her as she just tells you what's needed and doesn't keep you wondering. She had a plan and she told everyone what their part to do was. The pumpkin patch was only two driveways past Aunt Vikki's mom and dad's house. First we went in and learned all about pumpkin seeds and how they grow. I learned some things I didn't even know.
Next we learned all about squash and gourds. Then it was time to walk and see the animals. The kids were well behaved and Hailey was as good as can be. When I would go to take a picture of her she would pose for me. Another mom must have trained her son for pictures because a couple of times he would see me taking Hailey's picture and say "You can take my picture too" and then he would go stand or sit by Hailey. It was so funny. We went into the big teepee and a lady dressed up like an Indian talked to us. She had everyone close their eyes and imagine they were an Indian. She showed us different animal skins ...rabbit, opossom, fox, coyotte...
Then she showed us a carved wooden spoon, and a flask made out of a turtle's shell.
We left the teepee and the kids went to a roped off area and picked out any pumpkin they wanted to take home. Hailey loved her pumpkin and was so happy to carry it and take it home. We stopped at our house and she went potty, then we went to the apple store for lunch and a cookie. She played outside for a while afterwards. We came home and she played for a while and then we went to grandpa's to take his doggie to the vet. Spent time with grandpa afterward...had m & m's...and drinks. Came home and had a half hour before Kenzie got off the bus. The girls raked leaves and played outside...I'll put those pictures on tomorrow. Soon it was time to go to church for All Stars and youth group. Papa watched Hailey and read to her and tucked her in at bedtime.

We waited outside for the bus to pick up Kenzie this morning. Hailey loves watching for the bus. Came inside and got ready to take grandpa to the dentist. While he was at the dentist, we went shopping. Picked grandpa back up and went to his house. Taylor was good for his IV so I was really happy that went well. Grandpa sure is a good helper. Took Hailey out for lunch and ice cream, then we came home and got ready for Bible Study. She played really good with her toys and the dollhouse while I got stuff ready. Kenzie came home and she and Hailey played some games and drew pictures. We ate dinner and Cathy came while we were eating. Offered some food to her but she had already eaten before she came. She tried out dad's AB chair and liked it. We had twelve of us plus three children at Bible Study. We broke up into groups for discussion and it went really well. We are studying about loving each other and we are getting to know each other and be there for one another. Marie made beautiful harvest bouquets for each family which was really sweet of her.
The kids were all great during Bible Study. When I told Hailey it was time to go to bed she came right away. I read her a story and prayed and then she went right to sleep. She's such a good girl. Kenzie helped get the other 4 yr. olds pj's on and was a very good helper. She had a good testimony she shared with everyone too. She always wants to have input and shares good stuff. Now she is sleeping too. Time to go clean up my part downstairs. Dad has already got his part done and is reading the paper.

Kenzie in her jewels after winning at pretty pretty princess!

I can tell Hailey has been trained by her mommy the photographer. When I took one picture she asked me to take more with different poses.

Took Hailey to school this morning. Good thing she knows where to go in her school. She took me right to her room. Her teacher asked her if I was her grandma. Hailey told her yes and the teacher and I introduced ourselves to each other. I told her I could go on the field trip coming up and she said that would be great. She was very nice.
After dropping her off, I went to pick up Champ. He was snuggled sound asleep in his bed. I woke him up and let him outside to go potty. Then we headed off to my house so he could spend time with me and Mocha while Hailey was in school. At first he was restless and kept walking all over. I gave him a couple of handfuls of food and then he settled down. Took him back home, visited with Connie, Mel and Bruce's neighbor and then went to get Hailey. She was looking out the window when I got there. I thought she got out at 11:30 but she gets out at 11am. Good thing I was early. I got there at 10 after. I had planned to sit in the car and read grandma's journal til she was out. We stopped at grandpa's on our way home. Grandpa was happy to see Hailey again. He also told me he felt bad because he didn't thank Kenzie for the card she made him. He said it really was nice and it meant alot to him and he felt so bad he didn't tell her. He was waiting for her to get done playing and then he forgot. He was so sweet and caring about that little girl making that for him. Said it was so thoughtful for her to think of him. Came home and read while Hailey played with the dollhouse. She play so good by herself. We called Aunt Kimmy so she could talk to Max and Jacob. She was happy to talk to them.
We went out later in the rain with our umbrellas to see Kenzie get off the bus. She was really happy about that. She and Kenzie played pretty pretty princess again.
She wanted Kenzie to read her bedtime books to her. Then we had prayer time. Kenzie and her both prayed really good. Now they are both tucked in. Hailey is already sleeping, but I hear Kenzie chomping on ice.

We had a great service in church today. We had two missionaries. The one was from the Philipines and had such a great testimony it had lots of us in tears. God is so good and it was wonderful to hear how he sent a missionary to reach this person way in the jungles and now he is a missionary himself. Hailey said her memory verse and came out with a star on saying she knew it. We came home and ate and Kenzie stayed with papa while I went to grandpa's house. When I got home we went to the playground for a while. Hailey had me follow her all over so I got my exercise. She was going down the tire ladder and said she wanted to try something different. She sat down so I thought she was going down on her bottom. Well she tried to jump through the hole in the tire and go down through it but went too fast and hit her chin. She cried for a minute while I held her and a little girl came up and asked why she was crying. She was so caring. We talked and found out she was 4 like Hailey. We played more and then went to McDonalds. When we got home we watched a movie. Rody and Kenzie surprised us and stopped in which was nice. Kenzie played pretty pretty princess with her. Hailey had asked how many days till her mommy, daddy and Jack were coming home. She goes to the refrigerator and looks at Jack's picture and says how much she misses him and rubs his picture gently. She says she misses mommy and daddy too. We were waiting for Melissa to call and when she did, Hailey talked to her for a few minutes, but because Kenzie had just gotten here she wanted to play with her so gave me the phone back right away. She always loves it when her mommy calls. She loved taking a bath with Kenzie's bath baby tonight. She shampooed her hair and washed her up good. She only could take a 5 minute bath because we wanted to get her in bed on time since she has school in the morning.
We did her bedtime routine and she went to sleep right away. She slept all through the night last night too. We are enjoying having our little sweetie. I should have taken a picture of Kenzie when she was here but I forgot. She looked beautiful and of course was as sweet as ever.

Thankyou for this surprise snapshot on my camera Rody!

Great picture Rody. We are very proud of you and were glad God placed you in our family.
