Josie came to church...9/2/07

Josie came to church with Kenzie today. I was so happy to see her. She went in Kenzie's class for Sunday School. I taught Sunday School today and the kids were just wonderful. I played a new kids worship song and the kids did the actions to it. They kept begging me to let them worship to the song again. It was so touching to see them so excited about worship. I teach K-1 which is an adorable age. Josie came over with Kenzie after church and spent the day. They swam for a couple of hours which surprised me as the water was cold. They had so much fun playing together. I took videos and we watched them when they came in to eat. After lunch they painted their nails on the top part of the swing. Josie took a picture of me swinging on the swing. She is such a sweet little girl. I love her and I'm so happy she visited today. Vikki and Rody came over and picked the girls up. After they left, we went to visit a lady from our church who is in the hospital with pneumonia. Then we stopped at Rody's parents to pray with his dad who is fighting cancer and to meet his mom's brother. Much of the family were there. They were all so nice to us.

Took dad to Meijers...9/1/07

This morning I took grandpa to Meijers. Poor guy, I got a cartful and he only got three or four things. He was very patient with me and smiled the whole time, even while I picked out some tennis shoes. Went back to his house and Bill was pulling in right as we were getting out of the car.
I left and came home to put groceries away. I started making blt's for Bill and me when we got a nice surprise. Kimmy, Jared and the boys came through the door. We all had lunch then Bill and Jared played ping pong.
Jared was happy he won some games. Kimmy and I practiced on the computer so I could learn how to do a better, easier job on my blog.
She's really quick and good at it. Bill has a wedding at 3:30 today so he's off in a few minutes to go there.

Great day for a ride... 8/31/07

We left early and headed for Oscoda. We went on the motorcycles with Wes and Gayla.
It was a relaxing ride with just the right temperature outside. Stopped for breakfast and while we waited for our order we ate some of Gayla's homemade oatmeal cookies. They were so yummy. Headed out and Bill's loud pipes set off someones car alarm. We went all over, checking out State Forest Campgrounds, Landmarks, etc. In the picture above, you can see
Bill looking at the water. Well the story behind that picture is that I told him to turn around so I could take a picture of him with the water behind him. Instead he faced the water and jumped. I about had heart failure. I didn't know there was a ledge below him. He jumped onto it, but it looked to me like he was jumping in the water. I screamed of course. If you look at the pictures of the benches, you can see what retirees do. Ha Ha!!! We came home and played Anniversary Uno, which is very different from regular uno. It was fun and we had lots of laughs. I won't mention how stressful it was playing with Bill. I always have to throw some pictures of my beautiful grandchildren in. I love them to pieces and love to show them off.

Got to watch Jacob and Adam...8/30/07

Got to watch Jacob and Adam tonight so Kimmy and Jared could go out for their anniversary. Had lots of fun and the kids were great. Kenzie was a big help to me as she stays at Aunt Kimmy and Uncle Jared's so much she knows everything to do the way they like it (at least that's the way she came across when she took charge of Jacob). The funny thing is that he listened so well to her and did what she said. Then he would give her a great big hug and wanted her to Hold Hold him. Adam was cute and as smiley as ever as you can see from the pictures I took. Mocha went with us, but she stayed right under the chair most of the time, hiding from Truman. Kimmy made me some delicious coffee before she left with special creamer that I like. It was a fun evening and when I got home, Bill had the bed made (I had washed all the bedding), the dishwasher was going, and all the laundry was hung up and put away. I love retirement!!!
