9/20/07

Took Kenzie to school as usual, stopped at dad's and picked his rubarb. Helped him cut it up so he could cook it. Left there and came home to get Bill so we could meet friend Danny for breakfast at 9:30. Had a great time visiting with him. Left the restaurant and went to Tractor Supply and Meijers. Bought Mocha a new dog brush to keep the mats out until my groomer, Kimmy, gets her new clippers. Met pastor and his wife at Horizons at 11am and had a wonderful dinner with them and very good visit. They are just the nicest people to be with. Got home and had a half hour before I had to pick Kenzie up from school. Thought I'd lay down to rest for a half hour. The next thing I know, the phone was ringing. It was Vikki calling. I had just woke up and realized I had ten minutes before I had to get to school so could only talk a minute. We went back to dad's and then left for home as Kimmy was supposed to stop over if we were home. I didn't want to miss her visit as I always love seeing them. Jared got there before Kimmy and of course he and Bill had to play ping pong... I didn't ask the outcome of the game. It wasn't long before Kimmy and the boys came. I don't know how those boys could get any cuter, but it does seem to me they are cuter everytime I see them. We went outside for a while and then Kimmy and I made pizzas for supper. They were so yummy. Charlie came over to see Bill's trailer, my dad's neighbor blessed him with. He had been going to buy one and then my dad mentioned his neighbor had 2 trailors sitting out back that he hadn't used in a long time. Bill called and he said he could just have the one. Praise the Lord!! Those are the kind of deals retired people need.
We just finished eating when Melissa and family came over too. Max has a tractor type toy that Jacob just loves. Melissa found the same one and got it for Jacob. He was so happy to have his own. Melissa is so good hearted and such a loving aunt. We all decided to have a bonfire in the back yard. It was fun and we all enjoyed it. I will show pictures of it tomorrow night. Jacob and Adam are spending the night tonight. It is Adam's first night. It was hard on Kimmy to leave him at this young age, but I guaranteed her I would t take really good care of him. She is such a loving mommy. After Kimmy left I stood and watched Adam. He was so adorable in his bed, talking away in baby talk and looking up at me smiling. He is sleeping now after finding his tasty thumb. I am going to have fun tomorrow just enjoying the two boys. How blessed I am.
By the way beware of a strange picture on Kimmy's blog. She will probably try to convince everyone that I had a part in it. I don't know if I would fall for it if I were you....

9/18/07

Took Kenzie to school and then stopped in to see dad. Had a glass of orange juice with him and some of his egg beaters. Came home and Bill and I changed the furniture in the living room around so we would have more room for chairs for our Bible Study. Bill wanted to try a new way and it looks really good. Bill left to go to dad's and mow his grass. I got the house ready and made a blueberry desert and also brownies to have for our treat tonight. I surprised Bill and mowed most of our grass. Didn't quite get finisihed as I had to go pick up Kenzie from school. Rachel came and saw me and petted Mocha. Kenzie and Rachael want to spend time together, so I went and talked to Rachael's mom to see when would be good for her. We set it up for Rachael to come to my house on Monday. It took forever for Kenzie to get out. Then I waited longer as she wanted to go in and show her dog, Mocha, off to everyone. Stopped back at dad's on our way home. He had his target set up and was trying out the gun scope he had repaired. He was shooting out of his opened porch window. He hit the target right on the ring that makes up the bull's eye. Pretty good shot. He is so cute. When I see how he's doing after all he's been through the past year, I know he's a miracle of God. I am so thankful. Kenzie and Bill played horseshoes while I made dinner. Kenzie got 11 points. Bible study was great. Quite a few missing as their was a Rescue Mission dinner and many attended that tonight and said they will be here next week. It was so nice not having to rush afterwards getting Bill off to work, or packing his lunch. I love retirement.....The pictures are of my little tree out front. My carpet rose climbed up to the very top of it. There are pictures of Kenzie climbing the wood pile with her rope.

9/16/17 Today our sweet baby Adam was dedicated to the Lord.

Today our sweet baby grandson, Adam, was dedicated to the Lord. It was such a special service and he was such a good baby. Just kept smiling as usual. The pastor did a wonderful job and does the best dedications I've ever seen. He is so sweet and gentle with the little ones and prays such special prayers over them. They are blessed little ones with the godly parents God has given them. The pictures turned out really nice as you can see. We had everyone over at 5pm for chili, bread sticks, cake and ice cream to celebrate Adam's dedication, Grandpa's 91st birthday, and Bruce's birthday. It was lots of fun getting together and the kids were well behaved again as usual.
Lela, I want to thank you for your comment on selective hearing. It was an excellent comment and much appreciated....Just wait Kimmy...you'll be next

More wedding pictures....

9/15/07

We had a busy day today. First I had to make 3 appetizers and run them to a friends for the progressive dinner ride for CMA. We couldn't make it, but I had volunteered to help. Then we went to Rody's dad's funeral. It was a celebration as we know where he is, but was very sad at the same time because he will be so missed by us all. Rody wrote a special letter to be read that was just beautiful and very touching. After the funeral, we were off to our cousins wedding. We left after that wedding and headed about to a wedding Bill was doing about 45 minutes from the 1st wedding. We stopped at a McDonalds for a quick lunch to eat on the way. The day was beautiful, but a little chilly. The wedding Bill did was outside in a beautiful park (as you can see by the pictures). Horses rode through right before the wedding was to start. Bill did a great job once again and I was very proud of him. We headed back to the reception of the first wedding and got there just as it was time to eat. It was already 7pm, so we were glad we made it in time. Had a very enjoyable time watching Hailey and Max dance. You can see how cute they were from the pictures below. We also got to sit with sister Debbie and her family which was lots of fun.

9/14/07

Got the house cleaned today and dad's birthday cake baked. Busy day tomorrow so had to try to get everything done today. Went to the funeral home for Rody's dad tonight. Everyone had such nice things to say about him. Bill got up and said some wonderful things about him too. He was such a wonderful person. We felt from the first time we met him that he had been our friend forever. He will be greatly missed. After that we came home to change so we could go to the Hot Air Balloon Show. I was changing in my bedroom when I heard the phone ring. I thought it was my cell phone so I hollered for Kimmy to check and see who called. She told me it was Linda. I figured I would look at my cellphone on the way to the show and get the number and call her back. Well I checked my missed calls and her name and number weren't listed. I thought that was strange. The show was cancelled so we went for ice cream with Kimmy, Jared and boys. That's when Kimmy told me Linda was on my home phone, no cell phone. Well, we left and there she was holding to talk to me as Kimmy had told her it would be just a minute. An hour and a half later we got home and hung up the phone. Kimmy and I split a banana split which was very yummy.
Jacob played and was such a good boy. He has been having a fever but was just as good as could be still. Adam sat in his seat and just kept smiling as usual. He has the biggest smile ever. We had a fun time. You can see Jacob making a train with the jelly packages in the picture.

Dad's 91st Birthday

Today was dad's 91st birthday. How blessed we are to have him get around like he does and have such a good clear mind. We are so thankful to God.
He got dizzy while outside last night walking the dog and he fell on the cement. He knocked over the globe and it broke in lots of pieces, but dad was unhurt. Angels had to have caught him as he doesn't even have a bruise. The only marks he had were from the rose bush. Ouch...two places in his hand had thorns. Well anyhow, today on his birthday, he ended up having to go to the doctor. They did an EKG and then sent us off so he could get a blood test. That's not the way I recommend spending a birthday. He also has to wear a heart monitor until tomorrow. Dr. thinks maybe it's the heart medication as his heart was going slow and that sometimes happens with that med. He cut out the medicine for a while to see what happens.
He told me he loved the blueberry pie I made him for his birthday. We are celebrating on Sunday. Hailey and Max came for a little visit while Melissa and Bruce went to her dr. appt. I had some worship music going in the living room and they were both at the gate in the kitchen asking if they could go in and dance to the music. I put it on in the family room and they were so adorable the way they danced and clapped their hands, singing to the Lord. It really touched my heart.
Of course, I joined right in with them. Papa came home from praying for some people
at the hospital and he watched Hailey and Max while I took Taylor to the vet for dad.
He remembered I had prayed for Taylor in his office and told me our prayers were working. Taylor's eye was doing much better and he should be able to wait longer (10 days) til his next appt. They all asked how you were, Kimmy, and said to tell you hi. After we ate, I met Vikki, Rody, and Mykenzie at the school and she got her violin to start her lessons. She is very excited and so am I.
