Papa, Eli and I after his concert

I picked up Evan at 7:30 and took him to do his school testing.  He talked a lot to me on the way and sounded so grown up and so smart.  I took him in, then headed home.  Kimmy, Jacob, Bill,  Vikki, and my Lenny (dog) were sitting out on the deck when I got home.  I poured my coffee and joined them.  We talked to Melissa for a while on speaker phone.  We were going to take a walk around the yard and look at plants, but Kimmy noticed weeds in my new garden.  She asked for my new shovel they got me and started digging and pulling out weeds.  I told her not to, but she wouldn't listen, so I got the other shovel and started helping.  I had done some, but it was too wet, then I got busy, so there was lots yet to do.  We finished it (Kimmy did the most) and then I put preen down.  Thank you Kimmy.  Bill and Jacob emptied the weeds out of the wheelbarrow for us.
Kimmy also brought me a beautiful Lenten Rose which we planted on the side of the house. Bill showed Jacob how he makes pens out of an antler out in the shed.  Bill and Jacob went to pick up Max, then headed to Culver's to eat, and then dropped Jacob off at school for his half day.  On his way home, Bill told Max he would have to take him to the bird and wild animal museum someday.  Max told him, why not today, so they went back and went there.
Kimmy, Vikki and I sat on the deck longer, then came inside to eat lunch.  Melissa called and Evan was ready for me to pick up, so I left and went and got him.  I took him to McDonalds for 2 hamburgers and a shake. He didn't want fries.  He talked to me all the way home too.  I sure love spending time with him.  I dropped him off, and heard a horn honk.  Bill and Max were just getting there too.  Bill took a nap.  I was going to too, but I went to Aldi's to return something and also to pay for the wooden gazebo light I had gotten yesterday.  I went to show Kimmy how much it was (14.99) because I couldn't remember exactly, and it wasn't even on the receipt.  They didn't scan it somehow.  I am much happier knowing it is paid for.

In the evening, we went to Eli's band concert.  He did such a great job and looked very handsome.  The whole band was amazing.  The last band was really amazing too.  The one song they did, the percussion kids played different instruments up front.  They had four kids playing on buckets with drum sticks and they sounded so amazing.  I wish I could make a bucket sound like that.  When we talked to Eli afterwards, he said he couldn't take his eyes off those buckets.  Ha ha, I couldn't either.

I had a nice long enjoyable chit chat with Vikki when I got home.  Sue called me today and let me know they were moving her to rehab as soon as there is a room available at the place she wants to go.  There are a couple possibilities she would be ok with.  She sounded great.  Charlie called while we were coming home from the concert and said they moved her and the hospital told him they don't know where.  Very weird.  They have to have a record of it.  Poor Charlie.

New Candle Lantern I got at Aldi today
I sat and read my Bible outside at 8:30 tonight.  It was still light out and 81 degrees
Got this solar light at Aldi for the pergola too

It was a sunny day with 80 degree temperatures.  Went shopping to a few stores, stopped at Maddy's to get the roses she got me for Mother's Day which I forgot to bring home last night.  Picked Jack up so he could come to my house and spend the day with Eli.  Kimmy dropped Eli off, visited for a few minutes, then took Jacob and Adam to their dentist appointments.  She had an appointment too.  Eli and Jack played nerf guns out in the yard.  They also played air hockey in the basement and roller bladed.  Vikki and the kids came over after she picked them up from school.  They had fun playing too, especially hitting tennis balls.  Bill got the outside faucets in the front and back of the house all redone, so the water faucet handle is high on a post.  I love having it so easy to turn on and off.  He did a great job.  Vikki and Adam hung my lights I got from Aldi out for me.  They look so nice.  Always good finds at Aldi.  Vikki found a collapsible trash with a cover for camping.  It is so nice.  Thank you Vikki!  Kimmy had to sew one thing on it, but it is like new now.  She also sewed Bill's shorts.  She was outside and told him he had a big rip.  I sure don't know how he rips his pants the way he does...big rips in weird places!!! Thank you, Kimmy for all of your repair jobs.  I passed out big size ice cream sandwiches with cookies and cream ice cream and also drumsticks to whoever want some.  We sat out on the deck for a while under the gazebo.  It was nice to have a breeze blowing.  Kimmy had to get Jacob to a game to ref and I had to get to prayer at church.  Everyone left around the same time.

Worship and prayer time at church was so good.  So good to gather and pray for the congregation and for needs of the church.  When I got home, I sat out under the gazebo and read my Bible.  Love having it so warm late in the evening.

Monday, 5/9/22, Breakfast outside this morning, Bill mowed the grass, Sue's surgery went well, Dinner at Maddy and Alec's

Red Breasted Grosbeak visited lots today

Bill met Charlie for coffee.  I had my oatmeal and coffee out on the deck this morning.  It was 60 degrees and sunny.  The sun felt so good.  Kit Kat laid next to me while I ate.  Saw my first RBG (per Lela) of the year and also had my first oriole.  When I moved to take a picture the oriole flew off.  I waited for a while, but didn't see it come back, and had to get busy.

I cleaned the camper today.  I got everything done, but the windows washed and the kitchen and bathroom floor scrubbed.  That will happen tomorrow.  After that, Bill and I will power wash the outside.  It took me a while to get the cleaning done.  I talked to Vikki a few times, talked to Melissa and Face Timed with Evan so he could show me all of his lego projects he's completed and the pieces he's collected.  He was pretty excited and explained things very well.  He is so cute!  Bill mowed the grass while I cleaned the camper.  Bill put the heavy duty solar lights he got me for Mothers Day up and also hooked up the new water faucet extension he got me for the hose up.

In the evening, we went to Maddy and Alec's for dinner.  She made yummy spaghetti.  We visited for a while, then Bill and I went to Culver's for Concrete Mixers.  After that we went to The Home Store and got an umbrella for our new table.  We picked out a brown one and it looks so nice.   We are going to get another one just like it for our other table on the deck.

Kimmy called me and said Jacob has a dentist appointment tomorrow.  Eli wants to come hang out with Jack at my house while they are at the appointment.  I'm always happy when Kimmy comes to visit and brings the kiddos.

Sunday, 5/8/22, Celebrated Mother's Day at our house. Sue fell and broke her femur bone.

Paramedics taking Sue to the Ambulance. Me, Jacob, Jared and Adam in the picture also

We went to prayer than church.  Hailey came and sat by us.  Vikki, Rody and the kids didn't go because it would be too hard for Rody on Mother's day with just losing his mom.  I was so happy when he came her with Vikki, Peyton and Isaac to celebrate Mother's Day.  We all met and each family brought the kind of pizza they like.  I picked up some extras with extra stuff on from G's for those of us who like more than just pepperoni.  Sue and Charlie came and so did Stacie.  Kody was sick, so he stayed home with D.J.  Max was really excited about his working at the wildlife rescue place.  He told me about being in the cage with the eagle, holding opossums, and seeing a bobcat.  He told everybody else about it too.  Melissa didn't have to wear her braces a lot of the time.  God is healing her.  So thankful for how much better she is.  We spent the whole day talking, playing corn hole, relaxing and had so much fun.  Sue and Charlie left first, then Stacie.  Melissa, Bruce and the kids left next.  Everyone else hung around til evening.

Vikki, Kimmy and I were sitting on the deck swings and heard something.  We though Peyton fell or something, and went running.  It was Sue though.  She came back to get her plant that she had forgot, and missed the step on our deck and fell.  We prayed for her right away.  She couldn't get up because of the pain, so we got her some pillows and a blanket and just had her rest for a few minutes.  She still couldn't move because the pain was so bad, so Charlie called 911 and I talked to them and gave them the information.  It took them about a half an hour before they got here.  They started and IV and gave Sue some Morphine to help with the pain, so they could move her.  Bill, Jacob, and Adam helped the two paramedics carry Sue on the mat to the stretcher.  It was painful for Sue and so sad to hear her crying out in pain.  They loaded her in the ambulance while Jared and Jacob put their things in the side door.  Charlie called us later and told us she had a broken femur bone.  We watched some slides that Vikki brought of Rody's family.  We had fun watching them and eating popcorn.  Vikki, Rody and the kids left after that, then Kimmy, Jared and the boys left too.  Everybody helped clean up.  Such a fun day until Sue fell.
