Wed., July 9, 2025, Swam with Adam, went home to see Marie before her surgery, Spent the day sitting with Roy, Surgery was a success, came back to the campground

Adam slept really good and didn’t get up until 10
We went for our morning swim so I took this picture
I bought a yummy Covenant Club Sandwich for Roy and I.  It was the best.  He wanted to buy mine, but I told him I wasn’t home to bring a meal, so I would treat him.  He is such a sweet person and reminds me a lot of my dad.

I got up and went outside and read my Bible.  God put it on my heart to read Proverbs and that I should encourage the girls to read Proverbs for the kids since it teaches how to have the fear of the Lord, get wisdom, understanding and discernment.  I ended up reading 4 chapters and was so blessed.  I sent it to Stacie too and she was happy I did.

When Adam got up, we ate breakfast together, than I read Proverbs 1 to him, and talked to him about it some.  We decided to go swimming after that.  He got ready and told me which pool he was going to and then I finished what I had to do and went to the pool and joined him.  It looked like it was going to rain, so I came back quick and put the awnings in.  I also put Adam’s clothes in the clam and zipped up the outside changing room in case it stormed.

I went back and we swam about an hour, then more kids came, so I got out and sat on a lounge chair.  Adam went in the hot tub for a while and was the only one in it.  I’m not doing hot tubs any more because my eczema is completely cleared up and I never want to have that again.  One of the things recommended when I had it was not to shower or bathe in hot water.

We came back to the camper and I made chicken salad sandwiches.  Adam was only going to have one, but then said they were so good he was going to have another.  I was so happy he liked them.  We got ready for him to go home and me to go to the hospital to see Marie and Roy.  He came and gave me a hug and left first.  I left and Bill called me when I had gone about 6 miles and told me it was lightening out there and there was a storm coming.  I told him it had already rained up here for about 15 minutes and was done.  I got past the Pinconing exit, and the traffic was backed up to a standstill.  It started moving slowly.  I got in the right lane because I knew it wasn’t far to the Linwood exit.  It was still moving very slowly, so I got off at the exit and went a two miles out of my way, but could move right along. I could see lots of dark rain clouds to the right a ways ahead of me on the expressway.  I was praying for God to help me miss the storm.  When I was driving on the country roads, it would be dark, then I needed to turn and it would be light,  It kept going that way all the way to the hospital.  When I got there, it looked like half the parking lot was where it could storm any minute and the other part where I was parked was clear.  I was sure happy to go into the hospital and be dry, and I sure was thanking the Lord.

I got up to Marie’s room and the door was closed so I knocked and the nurse let me in.  They were getting her ready for surgery.  Roy had gone down to the lounge.  When they finished, I talked to Marie.  I was so happy I could see her before her surgery.  Roy came in the room and pulled a chair up for me to sit in.  We had a nice visit and she was peaceful and trusting God.  They came in and did some more preparations.  When they told us we could back in and tell her goodbye, Roy gave her a kiss, I held her hand and told her bye and I would see her soon.  The let us go to the Pre Op with her and sit by her after that.  We met the Anesthesiologist, some nurses and others who know our friend Brittany from church.  After they were done, Roy and I said goodbye again and went to the Lobby.  Surgery was supposed to start at 4, but didn’t start until 5.  Surgery was finished at 7.  Originally they said it would take 4 hours, so 2 hours was amazing.  I was in the bathroom, and someone came in and told me the doctor wanted to talk to me.  Roy had sent them in.  I met the doctor and he shook my hand.  Yikes, it was still wet as I didn’t dry it well because I was hurrying to get out there.  He told Roy and I that the surgery went well and Marie did amazing.  He said there’s a drain in the top of her head and also that the incision to take the bone out in order to work was 3 inches long.   He also said it would probably take her longer to wake up in recovery because of her age.  I had to leave to get back up north, so was going to leave.  Roy decided that he should go home since he had been there all day and Marie would be going to ICU and be pretty out of it.  He’s 90 so I told him I thought that’s what Marie would want him to do.  The lady at the desk said they would call him if there was anything that came up.  I was walking him to his car in the parking lot when I noticed a man standing next to my car who yelled something I couldn’t make out.  Roy was parked way down from me, so he gave me a ride to my car.  By the time we got there, the man and his car were gone.

I let Adam know I was going back up to the camper, so he would know he could leave and come back up north.  When he got up here, he went to the adult swim because he had been hot all day.  He was the only one there.  He came back and we had M & M’s and Cashews and played 3-13.  He beat me again.

I talked to Melissa and Bruce might pull the camper up tomorrow and set it up, then Melissa and the boys will come up on Friday.
