Hailey and Nana mashing the squash...10/12/08

Hailey wanted to help me mash the squash from our garden. She was a really big help. When it came time to taste it to see if we added enough sugar, she made a face and said she didn't like it. I thought it was delicious. It was pretty good that she tried it to see if she liked it. She's going to be a good cook some day. I'm glad she is interested in helping. Kenzie was the same way and she still loves making food. Her specialty is meatloaf (she makes the best) and choc. chip cookie dough.

Went to church this morning and taught Sunday School. Stopped at dad's on the way there. He gave me a cabbage and had me take one to give to someone at church. They were from his garden. We came home, ate and cleaned off the deck with the blower. Bruce and Melissa got here so we were very happy to see them. We visited for a while, then when Max took his nap, Melissa and I went to the baby stores and also to visit Taylor. He was happy to see us and have us spend time with him. He is doing so much better now. We pick him up at 7:30 in the morning and go back to our vet.
While we were shopping, Bill took grandpa hunting. They asked a lady if they could hunt on her property and she said yes. Within 5 minutes, Bill got two turkeys with one shot. Grandpa had to put his tag on the second turkey so their hunt was over.
Needless to say Bill was extremely happy...we were all happy for him. Lots of smiles. Hailey wanted to know if the turkey was in heaven now. Papa gave them each feathers to have. I forgot to mention the first store Melissa and I went to didn't have the color of blanket she wanted. They were 19.99 there. We went to another store and they only had two of this kind of blanket. They were both the same color green that Melissa wanted and they were on sale for 11.99. What are the chances of that happening. Thank you Lord!!! The color is beautiful and baby Jack snuggled in and looked so compfy wrapped in it. Hailey and Max picked out their pumpkins and Bruce loaded them in the van. Mykenzie, Vikki and Rody came for theirs later, but it was too dark to take good pictures. They were going to go carve them with a couple from church and their kids. They had beautiful pictures of a pumpkin patch they visited. Looked like so much fun.

Bill got two turkeys with one shot!!! How exciting!!!

Jack got his new blanket...he was very happy with it so it appears. What sweet pictures!

Today we had a color tour with our Christian Motorcycle group. Great weather and great turn out. Before we went, I went to visit grandpa's doggie in the doggie hospital. He was doing much better. After that I ran Kenzie's book bag to Bruce and Melissa's so Vikki could pick it up after her walk for cancer. I am very proud of Vikki and Rody.
They are reading their Bibles and seeking God. I couldn't be happier. They are so enthusiastic. It is great talking to them and being around them. When I got home we left. The color was absolutely beautiful. Nothing like God's beauty. We left after we ate lunch with everybody as Bill wanted to get back to take grandpa turkey hunting. They drove around and saw one person carrying a turkey they had just got.
They really didn't have a place to hunt themselves as they need permission from land owners to go on their property. I went back to visit Taylor later and then Bill and I went to visit a friend and neighbor who is in the hospital with pneumonia.
We came home and watched a movie, then it was nite nite time.

These pictures were taken when Kimmy came to sew bibs for Kelly's shower. The boys were very good and happy while we sewed up a storm. Kenzie wanted to sew too so she started making a bib. When she turned it inside out, it was a perfect cat head. So
funny even though at first Kenzie was disappointed. Kimmy is giving her lessons as she goes now.

9/30/08

Well the morning didn't start out too good today. Kenzie missed the bus (it came early)so I ran her to school. On the way, we realized she didn't have her magazine orders that had to be turned in. It was too late to go home and get them before dropping her off so after I dropped her off at school, I went back to get them and took them to the office for her. Then I was off to grandpa's house. We went to the store and got the groceries he needed and then to the gas station to fill one of his gas cans. He had a cold and now started coughing in the store. I picked up some medicine for him and checked with the pharmacist to make sure he could take it with his medicines at home. Talked to him later and he was doing better. I'm glad of that. Keep him in your prayers. I guess he caught it from Aunt Jody last week.
I ironed, cleaned, baked, made homemade veggie soup, and did my Bible Study lesson. It was a very busy day. Kenzie came home from school and we had no bake cookies and milk. We talked about her day. When papa got home we ate and then got ready for our Bible study. We had a great lesson on love. Terrific!!! I just tucked Kenzie in bed and now I am getting tired myself. Nite Nite!!!

9/29/08

Today I got up and ironed creases in dad's dress pants. Then I did tons of laundry. I was able to hang two loads out on the line which was nice. I went to grandpa's and helped him decide where he wanted to hang another line on the porch.
Took his garbage out for him and headed back home to finish staining the deck. I was working on the deck when I heard Mocha bark. She was in her cage, so I came in to see what she was barking about. I saw somebody at the front door so went to see who it was. It was Rody. He told me he had been to the Christian book store and had bought alot of stuff. Then he showed me the book the Love Dare. We didn't know they actually had that book out. It was from the movie we had just gone to see with the church. Well, he said that copy was for me and handed it to me. I was so happy and it touched my heart so, I cried when he left. That was just so sweet of him to do for me. After we saw the movie we had all commented that it would be nice if they had a book like the one they used in the movie. Such a big blessing that was. Thanks so much Rody. I love you!!! Dad was happy too. I read the first day's dare tonight. Awesome!!!

We went to church and afterward Melissa, Hailey, Max and Jack came over to spend the day. Bruce had to work. We ate pizza and spaghetti and visited. Max loved playing with the new construction trucks I found at the garage sale. I can't believe how he sits there for so long and is so happy playing with them. Hailey liked the new farm set, especially as there are so many animals with it now that I have three sets. She also liked using the coloring stencils I found at the garage sale. Love those garage sale finds. Wes and Gayla called and were going to come over, so I picked up something for dad to eat and then came home right away to visit with them. They were happy to see Melissa and the kids and Melissa and the kiddos were happy to see them. Melissa left at 6:15 as Bruce had something he was fixing in the crock pot for supper. We watched a Dave Roever video and then went out to eat with Wes and Gayla. The picture of Hailey in the cowgirl boots and hat are adorable. They used to be Kenzie's and we have cute pictures of her when she was little in them too. Jack was a good baby and I was happy to hold him lots of course.
