Tuesday, 7/6/21, Went to the Mackinaw Bridge, & Petosky, Peyton and Isaac’s first time to see the bridge and ride over it.

We all got ready and packed up to go to Mackinaw City.  Bill drove and did a great job other than making us a little nervous driving through the tunnel of trees.  We stopped in Gaylord to see the elk, but did get to see any.  The kids were super excited when they saw the Mackinaw Bridge and loved driving over it.  It was their first time seeing it and getting to go over it.  We drove through St. Ignace, stopped at an Indian shop where I got a really nice sweatshirt, then crossed back to lower Mi.  We shopped in Mackinaw City and Vikki found cool matching sweatshirts for Mykenzie, Peyton and Isaac.  We drove through the tunnel of trees which is always a beautiful drive.  Went to a campground by the hospital and we all walked along the water looking for Petosky stones and other pretty rocks. Lots of fun. We stopped at a Dairy Queen in Grayling for Blizzards.  Everyone working were wearing masks and no restrooms were open in the strip mall.  It poured for a while on the way back to the campground.  Kim and Mark Reminder came to our camper to visit while we were at Mackinaw City.  We were sorry to have missed them.

Monday, 7/5/21, went for morning swim, took a shower in our outside shower sprayed Clam to waterproof it, Talked to Marie

Did my morning devotions and Bible reading, ate breakfast, then Vikki, the kids and I went for a morning swim.  When we got back to the camper, I took a shower and washed my hair in the outside shore we got. It’s so nice.  Vikki and I sprayed the Clam to waterproof it.  I called my friend Marie. She and her husband are in their 80’s and took their 5th wheel to Shipshewana to camp.  She has been sick for over a year and unable to get around good so this is a miracle.  Their air conditioner wasn’t working so I thought I’d better check on them since it’s in the 90’s and very humid.  They were doing good and have an appointment to get the air conditioner fixed tomorrow.  I talked to Melissa and they were going to swim at our house.  Bill and I walked around the campground.  We all went swimming again, even Bill this time.  I talked to Kimmy.  Jacob was happy as he’s buying Kimmy’s Apple Watch and Kimmy is getting one like Jared’s.  Jacob will be able to compete with us in exercise and steps now! Yay!  Vikki and I played 3-13.  I won.  Bill went to the Trinity Riders meeting. Vikki made yummy rice and broccoli for dinner for us.Vikki and I walked around the campground while the kids played at the playground.  When we got back to our campsite we relaxed in the hammocks.  Bill got back.  The kids and I played a half game of 3-13 before they had to go to bed.  Vikki, Bill and I played 3-13 and Vikki won.

Sunday,7/4/21, Bill signed us up for the honey wagon, We went to Faith Alive church. Stayed for potluck after

Bill, me, Kim and Mark...they were visiting Kim's niece in the campground and texted us, so we found them and visited

Bill signed us up for the honey wagon to empty the tank as soon as the store opened.  We were 15th on the list.  We went to the store and got food for the potluck, then headed to church.  Great worship and great message.  We had fun at the potluck.  We were talking to the pastors wife and she lived in Wheeler and went to Amazing Grace and knows lots of people we know.  Debbie Clark and her were best friends. Debbie’s sister was Melissa’s best friend. Sure is a small world.  We stopped at a few stores because Vikki wanted to find chairs for the kids.  Everyone in Standish were sold out so we went to Northwoods and they had nice ones for $10. She got them. I got tent spray and we also picked up a shower tent.  We came home and Vikki, the kids and I went for a swim to cool off. It was in the 90’s today and was very humid.  Papa surprised the kids and got them knives at Northwoods to whittle with. They sure were happy.  Vikki and I tried the shower and it was amazing.  So easy.  We relaxed in the hammocks and took short naps.  Went swimming again, then ate. The kids showered while Bill and I walked around the campground. We found Kim and Mark at her nieces campsite.  She had texted me to let me know she was coming.  We visited for a while then came back to the camper and watched The Chosen. Played 3-13 after that and Peyton won

Everyone got here around noon.  We ate sloppy joes, grilled potatoes, beans and chips, and had cupcakes left over from the baptism/birthday celebration yesterday. Kimmy and Jared went for a bike ride.  Then the guys relaxed by the camper, while Kimmy, Vikki, Jacob, Eli Isaac and I walked the nature trail.  It was a hot day in the 90’s so the safe on the trail felt good.  We went for a swim when we were done. We play3-13, went for a a walk, ate more sloppy joes, then set our chairs up by the pond to watch fireworks! We were missing Melissa and family and Mykenzie and Travis. Lots of fun and great fireworks.  Love that we can just walk back to the camper. Surprise, surprise, the tank was full so we had to walk over to the bathroom by the pool before going to bed.

Fri, 7/2/21 Vikki and I went for a walk, I went home for Diane and Jame’s baptisms, came back to campground, Jacob spent the night

 Vikki and I walked around the campground.  I packed things to take home. Kimmy and the boys came up, I at least got to see them and hug them.  I went home.  Bill mowed the grass and weed whacked.  I hoed the garden, got burger and other things from Jack’s.  Went home and helped Bill put cushions on chairs on deck. I wiped off the tables.  Everyone got here around 3:15.  Bill Lucio and his family came and so did Charlie and Sue.  Bill did a good job baptizing James and Diane.  While they were drying off, I went to Sams and picked up cupcakes and ice cream for Diane’s birthday.  After everyone left, Mike Vargas came and brought a ramp.  He had a cupcake and ice cream too.  I cooked up burger for sloppy joes tomorrow and then left for the campground.  Kimmy, Adam and Eli had left, but Jacob stayed to spend the night with us! Yay!!!  We went and played 2 games of putt putt, went swimming,  relaxed in the hot tub, Jacob got the campfire ready and we did s’mores, then we played 3-13.  Vikki won and Jacob came in second.  Vikki cut onions and I mixed up the sloppy joes so I can just plug them in in the morning.  It was such a great day

Thurs., 7/1/21, Thursday, 7/1/21, Swam in the morning, took Hailey home, visited Melissa and family, Got Applebee’s and celebrated Diane and James Baptisms Bill will be doing tomorrow

Bill had to go home to mow the grass and meet Diane and James to have electric work done to hook up a amigo lift to her car. Hailey, Peyton, Isaac and I went swimming from 10 till 12:30. We walked over and checked first to make sure the hot tub was working.  Only one other person in the pool.  We had fun talking, swimming and sitting in the hot tub.  When we got back to the camper, Vikki was just getting up. She had stayed up late watching TV.  At 1:30 we all left to go home.  We dropped off Vikki and the kids at their house, then went to McDonalds and got burgers, fries and Frappes.  We went to Melissa’s first and saw everyone.  After we visited for a while, I dropped Hailey off and helped her carry her stuff up to the house.  We hugged and then I drove to my house.  Bill was gone getting the electrical hooked up for the attachment to carry the Amigo on Diane’s car.  I worked pulling weeds in the garden and watering plants. Bill called and wanted me to meet him at Applebee’s. We wanted to bless Diane and James and pay for their meal because they are following Jesus in baptism tomorrow.  Went home after that and packed up the car.  Bill found some putters at a garage sale and I packed them so we can play putt putt in the evening.  I picked Vikki, the kids and Lucy up. Went in and said hi to Rody and looked at Lenny’s damage to the wall.  We headed back up north at 8. The sunset on the way was so beautiful, we stopped to take a picture of it.  Played two games of 3-13. Vikki won the first and I won the second.  Both were close!!!
