Thurs, 1/25/24,, Went to Prudenville for our friend’s sons funeral, Stopped in Gladden and went in a shop, went to Costco,

We were riding on 18 to Prudenville, 10 miles past Meredith, when we saw flashers and a couple of fireman on the road.  The one stopped us and told us to go really slow because there was a vehicle that slid off the road.  He said a tow truck was coming and to be really careful because it was very icy.  Yikes!  Bill had been driving 55 and we didn’t think it was slippery out at all.  We went past and didn’t notice any ice.  He did drive much slower after that though.

Rehvyn was at his Grammy Vikki’s and played with the first rattle she bought him the day before she found out Kenzie was pregnant.
Peyton is loving helping babysitting him
Such a cute smile!
He and Isaac are so cute

I got up at 7 this morning and got ready.  It was pretty foggy outside.  I fed Kit Kat and gave her some attention, then went inside and read my Bible.  I did some crocheting after that.  I had to rip out some, and redo it and I wanted to do it while I remembered what I had to do.
I’m thankful I have a video to follow.  Bill got up and got ready, then we left for Prudenville to go to our friend’s, Jerry and Sandy’s son’s funeral.  He was 55 and had a bleed and died.
Very sad.  The pastor gave a wonderful message and the dad shared and lots of his son’s friends shared.  They had a nice meal afterwards.  We sat with some other friends from CMA and visited with them.  We told Sandy and Jerry goodbye and then headed home.  It was even foggier out.  Bill took it slow.  When we got by Gladwin, it started getting clearer out.  We went into an antique and clothing store and looked around.  Bill found a nice leather jacket with a zip in liner he liked, so he got that.  She came down $10 so the price was right.  I didn’t find anything, but had fun looking at everything.

We got to Midland, and Bill asked me if I wanted to stop at Costco.  I had a $10 gift certificate, so I told him yes.  We haven’t been there for a while.  We picked up a few tings and ate lots of samples.  They had some cashews in a bag for 12.98.  It looked like more than in the plastic container we buy there, so got some.  We also picked up Forever stamps at the checkout.  They are going to be the old price until Feb. 18 for members.  We were getting pretty low and didn’t get any before they raised the price, so this was a blessing.  We talked to Melissa on our way home.  We put groceries away when we got home.

Vikki face timed me and showed me how Rehvyn plays with a rattle now.  He also loved the toys hanging above him and would touch them.  He just keeps getting cuter every time I see him.  Kenzie was there so I told her I couldn’t answer my phone when she called me during the funeral.  I sure was happy to see her and the baby.  Maddy was there too, but I didn’t know it until I was about to hang up. I told her I would have said hi earlier if I would have heard right.  I thought Vikki said Rody was there.  She and Kenzie went to TJ Max and shopped while Grammy Vikki and the kids watched Rehvyn.  Lucky them!  Vikki sent me the pictures I posted of him.

Bill worked on stuff for the Seasons of Refreshing Flyer and I worked on the blog.  Going to crochet some now.

Wed., 1/24/24, Bill went to coffee with Charlie, I crocheted a lot, Went to Melissa’s and picked up some of her and Evan’s delicious cookies, took Carol to the doctor, crocheted more, FaceTimed with Melissa and Vikki

It got up to 37 degrees today and things started thawing.  It rained most of the day.
One of the delicious cookies Melissa gave us.  They are the best snickerdoodle I’ve ever tasted!
Carol sent bean soup home with me today, so we had it for dinner.  It was delicious and tasted even better out of Kimmy bowls
Kenzie sent me a picture of my sweet Rehvyn today.  He just is the cutest!

We got up at 8:15 today.  I put on good worship music.  Bill got ready and went and met Charlie for coffee.  I made oatmeal and had my coffee.  Then I read my Bible.  I’m in the Old Testament now and reading Samuel.  God’s Word shows the awesomeness of God and how important it is to obey Him.

I crocheted for a while, then got ready and went to Melissa’s at 1:30 to pick up cookies for us and cookies to take to Sister C.  I was headed to her house to take her to a doctor appt., so it worked out good for the cookie surprise delivery from Melissa and Evan.  I got to her house at 2, then we got ready and went to her appt.  We had a little accident with her oxygen tank as it got caught between the wheelchair and  the door and the piece that loosens and tightens it so you can change tanks broke.  I took her to the desk, then to the waiting room to fill out forms.  I went and moved the car to a parking spot.  When I came in I noticed the piece to the oxygen tank lying on the floor.  I picked it up and that’s when we realized what it went to.  I told the lady at the desk that Carol’s oxygen was getting low and we had an extra in the car, but we couldn’t change it because the piece had broken off.  She got the nurse and she went and got a tank they had on wheels and let Carol use it for her appt.  Carol said she could make it home on what was left in the tank.  They were so nice though and let us take the tank with us and then I dropped it back off after I took Carol home and headed home.  I was very thankful because I didn’t want her running out on the way home if something happened that it took longer.  When we got to her house, she gave me some bean soup to take home for Bill and I.  She had made a huge pot of it.  That was so sweet of her.
When I got home I crocheted more.  Then I called my friend, Vikki and we talked for about an hour.  It was so nice catching up.  She’s such a great friend.  Bill and I ate our soup after that.  I texted Carol to let her know we loved it and thought it was delicious.  She let Melissa know she loved her cookies too and said they were the best.  She invited us over Sunday to watch the game with her.  She is fun to spend time with.

I Face Timed with Vikki and Melissa and then crocheted more.  I’m making good progress now that I know what I am doing better.  I worked on that until bedtime and also did the blog.

Tues., 1/23/24, It was a snowy morning, schools were all cancelled,Bill took the trash out, He went in to town, I crocheted lots, went to prayer in the evening

Pretty outside this morning with the new snow
We had cardinals in abundance again
The grandkids didn’t have school because of bad roads...this is one of them.  Silly Lucy is in the picture too
Evan was off too and helped his mom bake snickerdoodle cookies
I love this picture of them baking together
They sure look yummy
They look pretty happy about those yummy cookies.  Melissa looks beautiful and Evan looks handsome and the cookies look amazing

We slept in again today until 9:15.  Stayed up very late again last night.  It was snowing lots and we had gotten a couple of inches.  When I talked to Melissa, she told me the kids schools were cancelled.  By that time they didn’t show all the cancellations, but it did show Midland Schools were closed.  I assume Eli’s school was closed too, but Kimmy didn’t answer my calls, so I don’t know for sure.  That girl!!

Bill took the garbage out. Then we had our coffee and read our Bibles.  We ate breakfast after that. I was happy that Jacob answered my texts.  It’s a sign he must be starting to feel better.  I’ve been doing lots of praying for him.

Bill went into town for bread, almond milk and some other things.   I wrote out some cards and got them in the mail.  Then I worked on my crocheting project.  I called Vikki and she and the kids were home because their school was cancelled too.  Bill said the roads were pretty slushy.  I’m glad the kids didn’t need to be out on them.   Bill cleaned the drive way off and shoveled the deck.  It warmed up and started raining instead of snowing.

In the evening, I went to prayer.  Our road was pretty bad because of the slush, but the rest of the roads were good.  Prayer was great and lots were there.  It went over our normal time, but no-one minded.  It was getting more slippery on the way home because temperatures were cooling down.  I did more crocheting.  I would much rather knit than crochet.

Monday, 1/22/23, Bill went to lunch with Charlie, I went to Melissa’s, Bill and I watched a movie

We slept in this morning.  It sure was nice because we went to bed at 12:30 last night.  I made Bill a coffee and me a cappuccino.  He drank his protein drink and I had oatmeal with blueberries, bananas, walnuts and raisins.  Charlie picked him up and Bill went with to run some errands and then they went to Riverside for Lunch.  I called Sue to see how she was doing and we talked for an hour.  She needed some encouragement and prayer because of all the health issues they are going through right now.  I was happy to do that.  They are like family to us.  I filled all of the bird feeders because it was snowing out and they were getting low.

After we finished talking, I went to Melissa’s to deliver their cookies and ornaments.  I stayed and visited for a while.  It’s always fun to spend time with Melissa.  Abby was snuggled comfy in her new bed.  I should have taken a picture because she was in the bed and it has a soft blanket cover attached to it.  She looked so cute.

I started crocheting the bag holder I am making for Vikki.  Learning new stitches and trying to carefully follow the pattern.  I stopped to watch a movie, called A Wave of Kindness.  It was really good.

There was an orange cat that came the night before last.  It ran off the deck quickly when I turned on the light and opened the door.  I didn’t see Kit Kat at all yesterday, but I was gone most of the day and evening.  I haven’t seen Hershey, the other cat that’s been sticking around, last night or all day today.  I think, Caramel, which is what Vikki named the orange cat, stole Hershey from Kit Kat.  Kit Kat slept on the deck by the door pretty much all day and was still there when it was dark out.

She loved her bunny
She’s so smart!  She started writing on it right away, then her mom showed her how to stamp pictures of the animals on the top by taking them out and putting them on the screen.  She put them back in place really good.  The only thing that was hard for her was pulling them out to use them.  That must be what the 18 month rating is for Amanda said and we laughed.  She’s only 14 months old but I knew she would be able to do it soon so I bought it.
