3/8/08

Went to grandpa's this morning. We always watch the weather together and today we were really thankful the storm missed us. Yesterday grandpa and I went to Meijers to get groceries. He is cute as he always reminds me to get paper bags. He has a great memory. He bought a pineapple and when we got to his house, he asked me if I had enough time to wait for him to cut the pineapple up so he could send half of it home with me. He is such a sweetie. It was the best pineapple I've ever had so it really hit the spot.
Kimmy was coming over with the boys so I went home to be there when she came. She got here and we decided to go to McDonalds for a fun time with Jacob. We also called Melissa to come bring Hailey and Max to play. It was cute to see Jacob so excited about his cousins coming. Adam was the best baby. He only had one toy, but was happy to just sit and watch everybody. Didn't fuss at all. I enjoyed seeing the kids all play together and was able to capture a good picture of Kimmy and Jacob. We headed over to pick up Kenzie from school, stopped at grandpas and headed back home. Got ready to take Kenzie to her volleyball game and as we were getting ready to go out the door she told me she didn't have any tennis shoes. She had left them at school and her room was locked. We made it to the shoe store, ran in (and I mean ran) picked out a pair she liked (they were even on sale), paid and ran back to the car. We made it to the school 5 min. before the game was to start. What a memory!
I should have let her play in her church shoes as I remember Bill taking Melissa to a soccer game in her church shoes and it was the only time she ever kicked the ball.
I couldn't believe it when I watched the video of her and she had her good patten leather shoes on. That was a good memory too. Left the game to go with Melissa to Hailey's dance class. Got to watch Max play with his friend which was really cute to see. Headed back home. I was so happy when Kimmy, Jared and the boys were still there. We had a nice visit and fun taking pictures of the boys and Kenzie. Today we went to Marylynn's daughter, Danielle's wedding. It was beautiful and the food was great. We sat with Pastor, Sherry and Cathy and had a good time. Doesn't the cross look beautiful in the wedding pictures?

3/6/08

Once again I am behind on my blog. Between appointments for grandpa and church activities I have been keeping quite busy. I have also been trying to run off pictures to send Aunt Linda.
We had a good Bible study Tuesday night, then fun at All Stars last night at church.
The kids were wonderful and so much fun. Today was cleaning day at grandpas. He wasn't feeling too good this morning so he sat in his chair looking sick most of the time I was there. Later when I came back he was feeling much better and when I went back even later to take his supper he was even better. Hope tomorrow morning goes well. Next week he has to have a ulcerated sore removed from his lip. Also has to have an endoscopy in the middle of the week. Many appointments lately, but so far we have been getting good reports which I am very thankful for. Kenzie started her volleyball games this week. Loved watching her play. She has another game tomorrow night at 5. I'm watching Max while Melissa takes Hailey to her dance class so I will have fun with him. Kimmy is probably coming over with the boys which I am looking forward to. Should be a fun day. Kenzie got marked outstanding for her violin grade. She has a concert coming up. Can't wait to hear her play with others.
Melissa, Bruce and the kids came to visit last Sunday. It was nice to have them over. I had a couple of good long phone conversations with Vikki today which I also enjoyed. Got to talk a couple of times to my sister, Linda. I was so happy to talk to her. Please pray that she gets moved to a good rehab close to her home where she can get good physical therapy. She is very lonesome for her family. Being so far away makes it hard to visit as often as they would like.

12/24/08

Went to dad's in the morning before going to church for a seminar. He was feeling a little nauseated again, but he went out to eat with grandson, Brian the night before and had fish and fries. The fish was ok for his soft diet, but the french fries were no no's. He should have ordered mashed and he probably would have been alright. He was happy that Melissa, Bruce and the kids came to visit. They stopped at our house too, but we weren't home as we were still at church. BOO HOO....I was sad to have missed seeing them which is always a joy. I miss Hailey and Max and would have loved seeing them.
We were blessed when Vikki and Rody said they were coming to visit. We had been trying to think of something to do, but there weren't any good movies on, so we were so happy to have them come over, which was more fun than going to the movies. Vikki had called Kimmy so Jared, Kimmy and the boys came too. We had a fun time and lots of laughs when we watched American Idol.
Jacob was sweet and sat by me lots, which I loved. I loved getting to hold Adam too. He is such a good baby. I love his smile. I missed Mykenzie, but she was at a friend's house having fun so I was happy for her.

2/20/07

Today was a busy day with two doctor appt. for grandpa. They both went well though.
The second dr. we went to said he was going to live to 100. That made both of us smile. Came home between doctor appointments and made smoothies for grandpa as he is still on a soft diet. He has been feeling great the past few days with no more nausea. Got a call from Vikki and she is helping move furniture to help someone out and driving a big U-Haul. She had wanted me to pick up Kenzie but with the dr. appt. didn't know if I would be able to. We got out in plenty of time so I was happy to pick up Kenzie and get to spend time with her. I'm used to having her all week, but since Vikki's laid off, she's been with mom. Tonight she gets to spend the night here though so we will have a fun time. Bill has to give a 2 hr. teaching at work tomorrow, so I have been up late each night working on it with him and typing it up. Yipee it is finished now. Bedtime at the regular time for me tonight.
Hi to Kenzie, Hailey, Jacob, Max, and Adam. Nana loves you all. xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo

2/14/08 HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY EVERYONE...

We had a wonderful Valentine's day. Dad (Bill) had given me roses the day before that are just beautiful. In the morning when I was getting Kenzie off to school, he told me he had another present and when I got home it would be right here on the cupboard. I got home and he hadn't left for work yet. There was a note right there on the cupboard where he said to look. It said to go look in the bathroom left side drawer, then there was a note there saying to go look in the right drawer of my dresser. There was a note there saying to look in the china cabinet drawer, from there it was the dryer, then the fireplace, then the freezer in the basement. ( I was getting plenty of exercise)
In the freezer was a beautiful card. The card said to go look in the tub. Of course I didn't open the card until I got downstairs with dad, so I had to go back upstairs and look in the tub. There was a big bag with hearts and in it was a beautiful bear (see picture) that he had made for me at his work. They took my mom's favorite tops, and put one on the bear and sized it to fit. The other they made a heart out of and put another white heart in the center of it. Then they wrote in memory of mom. Of course it touched my heart and brought tears to my eyes. What a sweet thing for him to do for me, and such a memory to have. Bruce and I took my dad to see a new doctor. We had a long appointment but this doctor is smart and caring so we had a great appointment so should get great results. Afterwards, he took me to get a beautiful necklace and ring he had seen in a flyer he got in the mail. It was so thoughtful and caring of him. He said it was because I was a sweetie. I will always remember this special moment with my dad also. I have a wonderful husband and dad.

2/13/08 HAPPY ANNIVERSARY VIKKI AND RODY!!!

Today I took Kenzie to school, then headed to dad's to shovel snow. After that it was time for our Wed. morning breakfast. Because of the snow, there were only 5 of us there. We had a good breakfast and great fellowship. Headed back to dad's to take him to Meijers. He was nauseated, so I just went and got the stuff on his list. I take him to see his new doctor tomorrow so hopefully he gets this nausea thing straighted out and feels better. I gave him a haircut when I got back from Meijers, then headed home to watch Hailey and Max while Melissa and Bruce went shopping. We didn't have much time, but had fun while they were here. Went to get Kenzie after that and stopped to get dad's paper and mail for him. After we were home for a while, Bill got home from work. He brought me a dozen red roses that are just beautiful and they smell so good. Got an email from niece, Shani and the prognosis for her cancer situation is good. We are thanking God for that. Have a great day and wonderful anniversary, Vikki and Rody. We love you!!! Mykenzie took the cute pictures of Mocha.
