Thursday, 1/14/21, Fun with Peyton and Isaac, Read on my book, Prayed lots

 

Envelope card from my best friend Vikki came in.  The envelope would have been enough with all the sweet sayings, but then there was a beautiful card and a sheet she made up with thoughts for the day, full of scriptures.  I am blessed with such a wonderful godly friend who is framily (friends who are family)

Isaac was up early.  Peyton got up a half hour later.  We ate breakfast and then started spelling.  They are such loving kiddos.  They read Ralph the Mouse and the Picture Bible.  I read the Little House book to them.  Vikki got here, and she brought me a sub from Quiznos  that was delicious.  Thank you Vikki!  Bill had therapy again.  He had to move his arm all over.  His therapist said he was doing great.  It was wonderful news.  After Vikki and the kids left, I read my Bible, did some praying and then read my book Joshua Code/Jesus Code.  I am trying to finish it, so Bill can read it.  I love this book.  Tomorrow I am going to start getting on the treadmill again.  It has been a while so I know I need to get back at it.

Talked with Kimmy when Vikki was talking to her while she was here.  Talked to Melissa for a while.  Stacie called in the evening and we had a nice talk.  Texted Adam.  

Wed., 1/13/21...A friend from church passed away today, very sad! Hailey got exposed to Covid yesterday, Peyton and Isaac spent the night

Found out a friend of ours from church committed suicide today.  So young and he has such a beautiful family.  Had all of his kids in my Sunday School class.  He loved God and had a heart to help the least of these.  I am so sad and am sure praying for his family.  

Hailey was exposed to Covid yesterday at school.  She has to quarantine for 14 days.  Pray she doesn't get it please.  

I am praising God for some great and happy news today.  Jared's mom got a great report.  The cancer hasn't spread, so she can have surgery!  Yay!  Please pray for successful surgery for his sweet mom!  Pray for Jared's dad's upcoming surgery too.  Two of my favorite people!

Tuesday, 1/12/21, Very icy morning, Bill had his first therapy, he helped Travis,

 I went out to take the garbage out and the driveway was all ice and so was Bill's truck.  I started praying for God to keep everyone in my family safe and give them traction.  I came in and called Vikki to let her know the roads were slippery, so she should take the main roads.  She was bringing Peyton and Isaac and I wanted to make sure she left early too.  I salted the driveway and sidewalk.  Bill got out of the shower and I let him know, so he could start his truck so the ice would be melted off it.  He had lots of trash bags from Kenzie's in the back of the truck, so he backed to the end of the driveway, and I got up and moved the bags to the end so he could put them down and drag them one handed to where they pick them up.  They were pretty heavy.  He left for his therapy appt.  Vikki called and said their was a truck flipped on the way to our house when she was almost here.  Two guys were helping the guy out, and Vikki asked if they wanted her to call 911.  They said yes, so she did.  They were very appreciative.  She said the main roads weren't bad, just the turn lanes.  Bill called me on his way to therapy and I told him to be careful when he got out of his truck because Vikki told me about people falling on ice.  Bill had therapy for 2 hours and did great and wasn't in a lot of pain.  Thanking the Lord for that.  Kimmy's boys didn't have school.  I talked  to her for a while.  Adam texted me to let me know too.  He's always so sweet!  Bill went to help Kenzie and Travis haul all the junk from the house and shed to the landfill.  He was sweet and picked up a battery for Kenzie's car and put it in and also got a light for Travis's truck to teach Travis to put in.  He had a good talk with Travis and shared about his life growing up and about God and how he made all the difference.  He told them about a church Vikki and I each found online that is by them.  After Bill left their place, Kenzie called me and told me about Papa's talk with Travis and asked me what the name of the church was.  They want to go there.  This makes me so happy.  I love those two!  Bill got home and I made him Nacho's for dinner.  I went to Melissa's for a little porch visit with her and Hailey.  Talked to the boys for a few minutes too.  Came home and read on my book, and then Bill and I watched a movie.

Monday, 1/11/21, Cleaned Kitchen and Bathroom, Bill got staples out today, Bill helped Travis get the water softener in

We ate our oatmeal, then read our Bibles.  Talked to Kenzie and Bill talked to Travis.  They were getting a different water softener today.  They thought they would have to have help getting it to the basement, but the two of them got it downstairs.  Wow!  Bill had an appointment to get his staples out in the afternoon.  All went well.  Afterward, he went to help Travis install the water softener.  They had a leak and so had to get something from Menard's.  Then they picked Kenzie up from Vikki's and went back to fix the leak.  I did my part by praying for it to go well.  I cleaned the kitchen and bathroom.  The floors sure needed scrubbing.  God protected us today.  Wes and Gayla wanted to get together.  I didn't feel like we should, so prayed that God would stop us from getting together if we shouldn't.  I talked to Gayla in the morning and they were planning on getting with us.  A short time later she called and said they couldn't.  Her brother was supposed to have knee surgery, but tested positive for Covid.  They had been with him, so have to quarantine.  Thank you Lord. I will sure listen to that voice inside from now on.  I am so thankful for God who loves us so much.  Reading a book Kenzie gave me called the Joshua Code, The Jesus Code.  Such a great book.  Reading it again!

 

Sun. 1/10/21, After church, we went to Travis and Kenzie's to work on their house.

 Didn't take any pictures today!  Busy Busy!   Vikki only took one.  At least I have one to post here.  Got the crockpots and roaster going right away this morning so the chili would be hot for our lunch at Kenzie's.  After church, we packed up and went there to help clean and work on the house.  Kimmy and her family were the first ones there.  Vikki was next, then me and then Papa with the trailer.  One of the crockpots of chili spilled in my car.  I had put an old plastic tablecloth down, so threw it away.  Some had got on the carpet edge though and was pretty orange.  Kimmy got stuff and cleaned it for me.  Vikki had some spray in her car, so Kimmy used that.  She did a great job!  What a sweetie for doing that for me.  Kenzie's puppy, Mylee, is adorable and such a nice dog.  We all ate lunch and were too full for desert.  The guys got a lot done outside.  Us girls and some of the boys got lots done upstairs.  It was fun working together and listening to K-Love while we worked.  We took a dessert break and had some pumpkin bread.  Then we got back at our work.  Got the upstairs done, except Kenzie has to wash the ceilings still.  It is going to be so nice when it's painted and the carpet is down.  It is such a cute house.  Their neighbors sure like them already.  Charlie and Sue stopped over.  The driveway was super icy, so they didn't want to get out and take a chance on falling.  They talked to us for a while, and said they would come back when it wasn't so icy.  Bill left for home, and then I finished washing the walls in the last room upstairs, and left for home too.  Kenzie helped me clean off both of my tables and pack up my stuff.  Travis wanted me to leave the chili there.  He loved it and wanted another bowl right then too.  Kimmy took her chili I made her home and didn't have any spills.  I went out to clean the carpet and make sure all the orange was out, and there wasn't any orange left.  Kimmy sure did a great job!  I still sprayed it and washed it to make sure it was all out.  Those girls and their families are sure good workers.  Kenzie, Travis and Papa are sure good workers too!  We are blessed with a family that loves and helps each other.

Started dough in the bread makers right away when I got up.  Read my Bible and then put worship music on and started making chili for tomorrow at Kenzie's for our work day.  Ended up making more than I thought.  That always seems to happen.  We won't go hungry tomorrow.  It took a long time to cook all that burger.  I brought the recycle bin in to fill because I had so much to put in it when I was done.  Made two batches of rolls, and got everything else ready to take tomorrow.  Had a really nice talk with Kimmy, nice talk with Vikki too, texted with Adam.  Bill and I watched a good movie called Summer Snow.  Melissa called during it.  I was so happy to hear from her.  We face timed (Hailey was there too) and then went to just talking.  Had a nice long talk which was so nice.  Then Bill and I went back to watching our movie.   

 

Fri., 1//8/21, Cleaned the house, baked pumpkin bread

 

 5 big loaves and 2 small loaves of pumpkin bread baked today

Ate breakfast, read my Bible and devotion, and had my morning coffee.  Put worship music on and cleaned the house.  Filled the humidifier's two jugs with water and put them in and put a jug of water on our water dispenser.  Bill told me he was going to push the snowblower out to the shed and work on it.  The electric start worked the other day, then stopped.  I started it by hand and used it.  He wanted to fix that, but I told him I would push it out for him.  I was nervous to think of him working on it with his shoulder just healing.  He told me I would have to start it for him, because he couldn't pull the cord.  He tried the electric starter first and it sounded like it wanted to start.  I prayed and it started.  Yay!  He didn't need to work on it at all.  I sure was happy.  I finished cleaning the house, then made pumpkin bread.  I like that it makes such a big batch.  I made some with nuts and some without.  Bill had to sample it of course and chose a loaf with nuts.
