Isaac with his new bike
Bill trying to beat me at 3-13.  I won -49 to 41.  I finally had a good game.
Max sure is growing up fast and has lots of muscle.
Evan and Jack are sure growing fast now too.
Peyton with her new bike...all of these grandkids are growing up way too fast
So many blossoms on my limelight hydrangea this year!

Got up thinking it was early, but it was 8:30.  I stayed up until 1:30 last night.  I did the laundry from camping.  I also turned the pool filter on and put chemicals in it.  It's amazing how clean it stayed the 3 weeks we were gone.  The pool cartridge lasts a little over 3 weeks.  I was thankful to have family swim while we were gone and run the filter for us.
I started the air conditioner right away as it was so warm.  Using electricity before two and after 7 to save $.  I went out to pull weeds from the back garden.  It rained in the morning and then we had another downpour, so they came out easily.  I'm very thankful for my muck boots which I rinsed off right afterwards.  I caught my 18th chipmunk in the evening.  I went to Melissa's and took the duffel bag for one of the boys to use for camp.  It was nice seeing the boys and talking to them and really nice visiting with Melissa after being gone 3 weeks.
I sure did miss her and will be going to visit her lots while the boys are at camp.  We have lots of catching up to do.  I picked up Souper Cafe food.  I didn't have time to eat before prayer, so put mine in the refrigerator.  Prayer was awesome.  We split into groups and walked around the church some inside and some out, and prayed for each room and those who will be in those rooms.  We prayed for the sick when we met back together.  I came home and Bill had unloaded the dishwasher for me.  He wanted to play 3-13 so we did.  I had a great game....him not so much.  He usually beats me so I did rather enjoy it.  I ate my dinner while we played.  He picked up the game and I took the chipmunk and dropped it off after our game.  Isaac and Peyton got new bikes and were pretty happy.  Can't wait to bike ride with them.  Happy 83rd Birthday to Lela.  She is one amazing person who has been through so much and blessed so many with her testimony through it of her trust in the Lord.

We had our breakfast this morning, then started with the last minute packing and getting camper closed up.  All went well and it didn't take us long.  Bill had to dump the tanks, so I headed home in my car so I could be home when Kimmy and the boys got there.  Jacob and Adam got their last Covid shot today.  They did pretty well all day, but had sore arms.  Bill got home and we unloaded the refrigerator stuff from the camper and brought it in.  He pulled the cart with the tractor up to the house and helped carry it in.  Kimmy and the boys got here shortly after.  Vikki, Peyton and Isaac came a little while after them.  We girls sprayed and washed the camper mats off.  They insisted on doing most of the work though.  Kimmy and Vikki edged my new garden area for me, while I pulled and hoed weeds.  We preened it after that.  It is looking so nice.  Bill played 3-13 with Jacob and Adam.  The kids all swam except Jacob.  He said it was too cold.  They had fun and stayed in quite a while.  We ate egg, bacon and cheese sandwiches for lunch.  Whoever didn't want that, had turkey sandwiches.  We talked to Melissa lots.  Max, Jack and Evan are going to go to camp, and since Jacob was already there, he talked to her lots too and answered her questions regarding what to pack.  Kimmy had a dentist appointment, so the boys stayed here.  Jacob, Vikki and I played 3-13 (Jacob won).  Peyton, Eli and Isaac rollerbladed in the basement and hung out down there.  Kimmy got back and she and Vikki went to Vikki's to fix the damage Lenny did to the wall.  They showed me a picture and it sure is looking better.  A few more coats and some paint and it will be good as new.  I folded the camper matts and packed them back in the camper.  I also packed up more stuff in clothes baskets to haul in.  The kids played games and snacked on crackers and cheese.  The girls got back, and Kimmy had to leave right away.  Vikki drove me and the twins to the Point to see the sand sculptures I saw on Facebook.  They really did a nice job on them.  Vikki also showed me where a car skidded off the road and hit a bunch of pine trees and broke them off.  Later she showed me a picture of the car.  Yikes....awful.  Praying for whoever was in the vehicle.

Sunday, 7/11/21, our last full day camping

Peyton with her friend MacKenzie

Got ready for church.  Took outside shower down. Put gloves on and tried to take the cover off for the honey wagon to empty. I couldn’t get it off, so Vikki put the gloves on and she got it.  Some pretty stinky liquid came out. Good thing she had gloves on and can move quickly.  We were glad when it stopped.  Our neighbor a couple of sites down was sitting outside.  All of this made us a couple minutes late for church.  The service was great and so was worship. Everyone was so nice too.  We came home and ate pizza and breadsticks after we got ice teas from McDonald’s.  Peyton wanted to go play with her friend. She was swimming, so we went to the pool to watch her swim.  They played golf after that.  Vikki and I lounged in our hammocks while they golfed and played at the playground, checking on them now and then.  Vikki and I went on a walk and went on a trail behind the clubhouse. We had to climb over some fallen trees.  We went and sat by the playground to see if Peyton would notice us. It didn’t take her long and she was waving and saying hi to us.  It was so cute how she played and was kind to all the kids.  Sure do love that sweetie.  Vikki packed up her stuff and I did some cleaning while I have water to clean with.  We packed up our hammocks.  Bill got here right before they left for home.  We put the extra wood in the truck.  Peyton was a big help.  I felt sad when they left. They are so fun to camp with.  Bill and I packed some stuff up, then decided to go for a walk.  We each carried a bag of trash to put in the dumpster.  Some nice guys on a golf cart stopped and told us we could put it on the back of their cart.  Then we just walked around to make sure we at least got 10,000 steps.  We talked and caught up on each other’s last couple of days adventures.  We sat around the campfire, then came in and played 2 games of 3-13. He won both, but only by a few points.  Kimmy called and her and the boys are coming over tomorrow! Yay!!!  Jacob and Adam are getting their second COVID shot.  Praying they feel good afterward.

Got up and got cereal ready for Isaac and made oatmeal for Rody and I.  We all ate outside. I did my Bible read Jacob and Adam got up.  Jacob had cereal.  We all had banana bread except Jacob.  Jacob, Adam, Peyton, Isaac and I all went for a morning swim. The water was so nice, and the sun was shining.  We had fun throwing a pool toy to each other until one of the workers said we couldn’t do that.  We went in the hot tub and they had fixed it.  All the jets were working great and the water was warm and clear.  The kids went back in the pool for a little while longer.  We came back to the camper and I made chicken fried rice.

We all ate that and leftover goulash. Rody and Isaac left to go home. Kimmy, Jared and Eli ate when they got here.  Kimmy, Jared, Vikki and I played 3-13. Kimmy and I tied and were the winners.  That was fun!  We went for a walk and went to the craft show.  I bought Some Rada knives, peelers and a sharpener to give to the girls for their birthdays.  We all love Rada stuff.  Kimmy and Jared helped take our clam down.  Nice to have it packed pretty when it’s dry out. They left after that.  Peyton went to the carnival and hung out with three friends she met.  They rode horses, got their faces painted, had another cones, and played on inflatables.  We had fun watching them.  Vikki and I went on a couple of walks.

Fri, 7/9/21, Kimmy and the boys came up, Stacie and Kody came up, Rody surprised us and came up. Very fun day!

We got up to sunshine which was so nice.  Set up the chairs under the awning again.  Kimmy and the boys came.  The kids went for walks and bike rides.  We girls looked at Vikki’s, Peyton’s and my rocks we found in Petosky.  Stacie and Kody came up.  We relaxed, then went for a walk, and then played 3-13 and Jacob won.  The girls all went over to watch the kids swim.  Jacob stayed here and whittled and kept the campfire going.  I made goulash.  Kimmy and Eli had to leave. Rody came which was a nice surprise.  We ate goulash.  The kids all loved it. Jacob said they would have to learn how to make it.  Kody, Peyton and Isaac all ate two platefuls.  We made s’mores after we ate.  The 3 youngest kids ate an Oreo on their s’mores.  Stacie and Kody left.  The rest of us went for a walk around the whole campground, but Isaac rode Eli’s bike.  Vikki, Adam, Jacob and I played 3-13 and dice before we went to bed and had M&M’s for a snack.  Adam won both games. Such a fun day!

Thurs., 7/8/21, Rained all last night, Watched a movie with Peyton and Isaac, Vikki drove us home to do laundry. She needed to bring Lenny’s cage to Rody because Lenny is getting anxious and chewing the wall. Took broken chair with phone holder back.

Vikki had to go get some groceries, and it was really wet out from last night’s rain, so Peyton, Isaac and I watched a movie.  Rody called Vikki and Lenny chewed the same wall again.  He needs the cage, so she drove us home.  We both did laundry, I took the broken chair we just got back to Dicks. Mike from church was working and spotted me right away and said he would help me return the chair and order one the same color.  He was so nice and super helpful.  I had prayed on my way for God to make it easy because I don’t like returning things.  He sure answered!!! I picked up an olive burger and fries from Culver’s for dinner.  Bill had to be at a meeting, so couldn’t come with me.  I weeded some, cut off some dead flowers and called Family Life Radio to see who to send a flyer for our Rally for CMA in Sept. to.  The person was really nice that I talked to.  Jacob and Adam were going to come spend the night at the campground, but Adam had to work more with his sheep, so they are all coming tomorrow now.  We are looking forward to that.

Wed., 7/7/21, Went to Bay City, swam, played 3-13

Bill left at about 8 to go home for a Dr. Appt. I was thanking God for having it not rain like they said it was going to since he had to ride the motorcycle.  He texted me and was home safe. Cooler day today.  I did my reading, devotions and praying in my room before everyone else got up. We ate sausage, eggs and toast for breakfast, then drove to Bay City. We went to Walmart so Vikki could get a new air mattress since hers leaked last night and went flat.  Went to Goodwill and Vikki gave me some shoes to try on that are like Misty’s she wears in the lakes to find rocks.  They fit great and felt so comfy. Then Vikki decided she would try one on and it fit her too and she loved it. Oh no….we both wanted those shoes then.  A girl watching us was laughing at us trying to decide who was going to be the one to get them.  We went to a couple of regular stores to see if we could find a pair but all were out.  They are called Sea Sox.  She was sweet and let me have the shoes, but we laughed lots about them.  I took a nap, then we swam. We played 3-13 with the kids . Vikki won.
