Monday, 2/13/23, Went to Barb's to visit and pray with her, Kimmy, Jacob and Eli came to visit, Stacie came to visit, Dentist visit, shampooed carpet in family room

Got to Gayla's at 9 this morning.  Elaine was already there.  The three of us headed to Barb's to visit with her and pray for her.  I drove us in my Prius.  It was a beautiful sunny day, a little windy, but nice temperature in the 40's outside.  We all were happy to see Barb and she was happy to see us.  She shared that she has Ovarian cancer metastasized.  She is waiting for a biopsy to tell her more.  We hugged, visited and then had a special time of prayer over Barb, anointing her with oil.  She shared her heart and is standing strong in her faith in the Lord.  She is such a nice, loving person.  We stayed for about an hour, then left so she would have time to rest before a friend from church dropped off lunch for her.  It was her birthday today so that was special too.  We gave her some gifts, and also gave her a card from our Faith Riders Chapter and a collection we had taken up for her.  Kimmy called when we were just leaving, and asked if they could come visit today at 12:30.  I was happy it worked out for me to be home before then.  She and the boys came for 1 1/2 hours, til she had to pick up Adam from school.  Stacie called and came over too.  We were happy she came.  We ate sloppy Joes and chips.  We had a nice visit, and the boys were a big help to Bill, getting the shuffleboard game out of the basement and out by the road.  They are always willing helpers.  When they left, I had to go to the dentist.  Got good news.  My tooth is doing good, so I don't need to have anything done with it unless it bothers me again.  

When I got home, Bill was leaving to go to a Marine's funeral, and be a part of the ceremony.  I decided it would be a good time to vacuum and shampoo the family room carpet.  I had it done by the time he got home.  We did our Bible reading and study when he got home.  

I talked to Vikki and Melissa today.  So sad there is an active shooter at MSU right now and there have been several shot and sent to hospitals.  We all started praying, and Vikki let Kimmy know to pray too.  This is so very sad.   I certainly am glad Jacob is not there now.  Praying for all of those kids who are there and going through this and all of the worried parents.  Please Lord help!

Bill, Jared, Rody and the boys moved all of the heavy furniture out to the garage for us.  They also brought up a table, chairs and a server from the basement and took the table and chairs from up here down to the basement.  Kimmy and Vikki worked hard cleaning off and redoing my shelves and rearranging furniture for us.  It looked beautiful after they got done.  Now tomorrow, I will vacuum and shampoo the carpet so it's ready for the new furniture.

We went to church in the morning.  I taught Sunday School and Peyton was my helper today. Tracy was teaching with me.  We had a lot of K-1st graders this morning.  Pastor Dan preached this morning.  I listened when I got home and the message he gave was so good.
After church, we went and picked up some burger, ground turkey, Hickory Stick, and a few other snacks for our Super Bowl last minute party tonight.  We weren't going to get together because Kimmy has been sick.  She's doing better now, and we needed some boys with muscle to help us with moving lots of furniture.  We ate sloppy Joes and then when the Super Bowl started, the guys went in the living room and found their spots and so did Peyton and Hailey.  We were happy Hailey could come.  She had gone to Ohio to see her friend, Ally, and spent the night.  I was happy when Melissa called and said she could come.  Vikki and Kimmy wanted to keep working, against my wishes as I wanted them to relax and have fun, but they said working is fun.  We did get the game on the TV in the family room, once they moved it across the room and Isaac got it hooked up for us.  He sure is amazing.  Kimmy and Vikki wrapped all the wires so they aren't hanging all over and looking a mess.  They are amazing too.  They were my Dream Team, making things look so much nicer in that room.  During half time, we put more snacks out and did some munching.  Then it was back to work.  What a great game and a great finish.  The Kansas City Chiefs won, but it was a very close game the whole time.  Our sisters and their families in Kansas are very happy.

 

Friday, 2/10/23, Bible Study at church in the morning, lunch afterward, Vikki and the twins stopped in, went to Costco, went to Wes and Gayla's

Vikki, Peyton, Isaac and Adam at Big Boy after Vikki picked Adam up from school.  Glad she sent a picture to me since I forgot to take a picture of the kids when they were here.  Bonus is I got Adam in the picture too!

Bill went to Tim Horton's with Charlie.  Charlie is doing good after his surgery on his throat yesterday.  I got ready, made my coffee and headed to Bible Study at church.  Maddy was waiting for me in the parking lot.  We went in and had a good Bible Study lesson and discussion.  Afterward, Deb, Laurie, Lisa, Dana and I went to Levi's for lunch.  Maddy said she couldn't come, but texted me a little later to see where we were.  I didn't have my phone on so didn't get the message until I got home.  Bummer!

When I got home I saw where Kimmy had messaged me to pray for Jacob, then another that let me know Jacob said his audition at Michigan State went great.  I just knew it would, but was sure happy to hear this.  

Vikki, Peyton and Isaac stopped in for a minute on their way to go to an estate sale and then they were picking up Adam afterward.   Vikki called us from the Estate Sale to ask me if I wanted something and said there were lots of tools, so Bill and I went there too.  It was close to our house.  Vikki and the kids were still there when we got there.  Vikki got a nice bottle. I got a corn on the cob thing.  

We came home, then Bill wanted to go walk around Coscto and asked me if I wanted to.  We went and used a $14 check they gave us from the previous year's membership.  We got a couple of things, then received a call from Wes wanting to know if we wanted to come to their house to play cards.  We paid for our items and then went to their house and had a fun time playing the new card game we got Gayla for her birthday that's like tonk.  Gayla was the winner.  We had homemade brownies and coffee after our game and visited.  We sure had a fun time with dear friends.

Thurs., 2/9/23, Took Bill for injections, went and got oil change, worked on Bible Study, took car in for windshield work, saw Nephew Jimmy, made chicken noodle soup, watched a movie

Raindrops on the window.  Snow is almost gone.  It was raining super hard when we went to Bill's appointment.

Baked a chocolate cake in my new cake pan.  Bill dished me up a huge piece.  He had 2.    We haven't had cake in a long time.  This is why!

We got up early because we had to leave the house by 7 for Bill's appt. for his injections. When they called him back, I asked how long he would be because it usually takes 1 1/2 hours.  This is the first time they let me in to the waiting room.  I decided to go to Tim Hortons for a coffee, toast with avocado and bacon, and a Boston cream donut.  I just finished eating when my phone rang.  It was Bill.  He was already done after just a half hour.  He asked where I was and when he found out, he asked me to get him a coffee and an Old Fashioned Glazed donut.  I got there and he was waiting by the door.  Every other time we have been there, a nurse has called and brought him out in a wheelchair for me to pick up in the circle.  He said they didn't even have him put a gown on this time.  

We went to get an oil change in my car afterward.  I pulled right in with no waiting.  They were quick and very nice.  We went home after that.  I was really tired, and I looked in the living room and he was already reclined and ready for a nap.  I decided I would do the same since it was still very early.  I ended up not being able to sleep, but did rest for a while.  Then I went in the family room, and sat by the fireplace drinking my coffee.  It was so warm and cozy.  

We read our Bibles and I did my Bible study.  James is such a great book to study.  I talked to all of the girls, and texted with Maddy and Adam.  At 1, we had to take my car and drop it off, to have the windshield repaired if they could or replaced if they couldn't seal it good.  

We decided to go see the movie, Left Behind, rise of the antichrist in Bay City.  Bill said it was starting at 1:30.  We got there and it wasn't starting until 2:40, so we couldn't see it.  We decided to get exercise and walk the mall.  Sad how it is so empty now.  We stopped at Godwin's to walk through it on our way home.  My nephew, Jimmy, who we haven't seen in a long time, came up to me and said Hi Aunt Penny.  We hugged and he talked to us for a long time.  It was so nice seeing him.  We went and walked around another furniture store after that.  We decided to stop and see if my car was done, and it was.  Went to Sam's Club and put gas in it.  Lots of car care today for my wonderful Prius.  

I talked to Melissa for quite a while.  Then I made chicken noodle soup.  I had to run to the store to get more noodles, after the soup was simmering.  Kimmy called me and told me about their Uncle Rick not doing well after a couple falls and being out in the cold for so long until he was found.   I prayed with her on the phone, then got my Bill, my BFF Vikki, Melissa, and Matthew praying.  Also put it on my church prayer page.  I sure was praying fervently.  He is such a nice and kind person, who is loved by so many.  

I made enough soup to give Charlie and Sue some.  Charlie just got home from the hospital today after surgery on his throat.  Bill really liked the soup with potatoes in it.  I also baked a chocolate cake.

Bill put a good movie called, Love Again, in. We ate a piece of cake while we watched it.  He cut our pieces and sure cut them big.  Will sure need to walk on the treadmill tomorrow.

We got great news that Jared's uncle was able to have surgery and came through it great and did great in recovery.  The doctor said they will get him up walking tomorrow.  I passed this great news about what the Lord has done on.  I sure am thanking and praising God.  We are continuing to pray for a quick recovery with no complications.  I am so happy, and I can just imagine how happy everyone in his family is.  

 

 

Wed., 2/8/23, Charlie had his surgery, took Jack's water bottle to him, went to Jack's game, watched a couple movies

Hailey with her ponder group after church. I am so thankful for her Christian friends and the good choices she makes.  I sure am missing her.

Walked on the treadmill.  Did my Bible reading and study.  Bill had an appointment at the VA.  Melissa called and she had to go to the dentist, so she wanted me to take Jack's water bottle to school.  I was happy to do that.  Bill brought me a muffin from Tim Horton's when he stopped to get his coffee.  Yum!  I talked to Melissa, Kimmy and Vikki today.  Kimmy still needs prayer to get better.  We watched a movie and then Bill put another movie on, that we didn't finish because we had to leave for Jack's game.

We went to Jack's basketball game.  He sure has improved lots and played great.  We sat with Bruce and Melissa. Evan was selling bracelets he and a friend were making, so Bill bought one for me.  Jack's team lost the game, but played hard.  

We went to Super Cafe and Bill got a small soup and a egg salad wrap.  I got a medium soup.  We came home and finished our movie.  After that, Bill put in a documentary on the two witnesses mentioned in Revelation.  It was really interesting.

Tues., 2/7/23, Bill had VA appt., Lunch with Maddy and Brielle, Visited Marie, Prayer at church, Watched the movie, The Unmiracle

Melissa saw 9 robins in her yard today.  Yay!  We are believing the robins on the ground hog lol.  Some flew into the tree when she went to take a picture.

I emptied some things that had to be thrown away out of the refrigerator.  Bill had a VA appointment.  He took the garbage out and then left for his appointment.  I met Maddy and Brielle at Olive Garden at 11.  We had the soup and salad.  Got to hold Brielle lots.  She's so cute and such a sweet baby.  

After we left there, I went to visit Marie at the hospital.  She was doing much better and may go home tomorrow or the next day.  

When I got home, I made sirloin burgers, potatoes and peas.  We ate, then I worked on my Bible study lesson.    I went to prayer group at church.   Love our prayer group.  

Came home and Bill and I watched at movie called, Unmiracle.   

 

Monday, 2/6//23, Got back on the treadmill finally Bill went with Charlie, picked up my lamps from Vikki's, Cleaned kernel burner, went to Trinity Rider's meeting

Lights look yellow but aren't.  Now when grandkids stay, they can just touch the base to turn the lamp on.  The base has a plug and also to charge ports

I smashed my finger when I was cleaning the kernel burner.  A part fell on it.

Bill went out with Charlie for coffee.  I walked on the treadmill.  I finally got back at it.  Walked for 2 miles.  I messaged Vikki to have her let me know how she was doing.  Also told her I would pick up the lamps I had delivered to her house because I was going to be gone when they came.  I talked to Melissa on my drive home.  Happy everyone is healthy at her house.

When I got home, Bill called and said he was at Belle Tire and they could work on my car.  It was out of alignment and needed new tires.  It's been since 2018 that we've had this done, and we taken lots of long trips to other states,  so can't complain.  We came home and read our Bible and devotions.  Then we took a little nap while we waited for them to call and say the car was done.  Vikki called me when she got out of work.  We talked for a few minutes and I'm glad she is doing great today.  She didn't feel good the last couple of days. We picked up my car and it sure drives great again.   

I cleaned the kernel burner. What a messy job.  I sure was happy when it started up and a nice fire was going.  Kimmy called me while I was cleaning it, so I called her back when I was done.  She has pleurisy and it's painful to cough.  My poor Kimmy.  I prayed with her for healing.  

In the evening, we went to Pondersosa for Trinity Rider's meeting.  Bill had some things to share with the chapter.  He did a good job.  There was a good message from the chaplain, about knowing God, knowing His Word and being ready.  Lots of crazy things going on in the world now days that show the signs of the times are here.  We need to be watchful and prayerful.

We watched the movie Vanish.  It was about the rapture.  Confirmation that we need to be ready!  Yikes I was nervous through that whole show.  Thankful God gives second chances to people through the tribulation, but how awful to go through that.
