12/13/07

Well it was sure a fun week. Kimmy, Jared and the boys went to the Christmas Store with us. It was so much fun watching Jacob look at everything. The live nativity was wonderful. First we sat in church and sang Christmas carols and then walked through our journey to Bethlehem, withour shepherd leading us. We had to be careful of those mean Roman soldiers. We went through the marketplace with all the merchants selling their animals and items. There was even a camel for sale. Our shepherd said we must hang on to our money for the journey though. Finally we came to the inn. We were very tired, but Kenzie and another little girl knocked on the door and the inn keeper said there was no room for us. He sent us on to a stable. There we found Mary, Joseph and the newborn baby Jesus. What a journey it was! We went in to warm up and had drinks and cookies. This is our yearly tradition. Since going once, we wouldn't want to miss it now. Kenzie did a great job on her gingerbread house. I was very proud of her. Kimmy, Jacob and Adam came over today and it was a joy having them for company. Later Melissa and Bruce dropped off Hailey and Max for me to watch. We had lots of fun and the kids were all very good. Kimmy picked up Kenzie from school for me and she and Jacob helped stack wood. Jacob was a really good worker. He loaded the wood on a sled and them pulled the sled over and unloaded it. I couldn't believe the size pieces of wood he could pick up. What a helper. Thanks Kimmy and Jacob. Kenzie has also been a very big help with the wood.
She can keep right up with me. It must be from all the pull ups she does in the basement. Thanks for your help too Kenzie. Jared helped Bill cut and stack also. Thanks Jared. Great job. After that we decorated the cookies Kimmy had baked for me.
A great big thank you again Kimmy. Jared, Kimmy, Jacob, Kenzie, and I had fun decorating and it went really fast. It was such a fun day. Loved every minute of it

Happy 2nd Birthday Max 12/2/07

Melissa came early in the day to set up for Max's birthday. They had his party at my house since they are still remodeling the kitchen. She did a wonderful job. Very cute decorations and the cake she made matched the decorations and looked adorable. Bruce made delicious sloppy joes. The cake and ice cream was so tasty too as Lucy would say (huh Kimmy). It was fun watching Max open his gifts. He opened a train
engine from Hailey first. It made actual train sounds so he was happy with that and didn't want to open any more of his gifts. We talked him into opening another gift from Papa and Nana. There was a toy cash register in the gift bag and he played with the keys for a minute, then decided the paper was fun to play with. Hailey played with the cash register with papa. We were talking him into opening another gift, but he went up to grandpa instead and just stood by him and hugged him. It was very cute and it sure made grandpa happy. Got him to open another gift from Aunt Vikki(Eddy). He pulled out the pj's and then saw a bathscrubber. He said ball right away and was excited about throwing it. It was so funny to see him use it as a ball. We all had a good laugh. He did eventually make it through his gifts. It's a good thing big sister, Hailey, was helping. After the presents were opened, it started snowing/sleeting outside. Melissa and Bruce packed up quickly to get home before it got bad out, and I took grandpa home so I could get home for it got too yucky out. What a fun night!
