Ready for take off....Bill, Don, Paul, Gayla, Mike, Wes and Elaine
Stop along the way

Hotel swimming pool was empty.  So nice to swim and get exercise.  It was nice and warm.
After I swam, I went in the outdoor Hot Tub and then laid out to dry off

Dinner with Charlie, Sue and Bill.  Celebrated Bill's birthday.

I was happy to see this surprise visitor.
It was 46 degrees in the morning, but nice and sunny and warmed up fast.We left our hotel and stopped at The TroutTown Restaurant in Kalkaska.  Bill said His was the best breakfast he ever had.  I had french toast and it was ok but not the best I’ve ever had.  It had cinnamon and corn flakes on it.  We did a couple stops along the way, and then when we got to Clare, we stopped at Cops and Donuts.  Mike left and headed home right away because he wanted to rest before he works tonight.  Paul left after he ate his donut.  Bill and I headed to Mt. Pleasant.  The rest headed home.  Bill and I went to Penney’s shopping for sales until it was time to check into our free room at the Hotel.  Bill was tired from driving and I was hot and needed exercise.  He took a nap while I swam, went in the outside hot tub and relaxed in the sun/shade.  Lots of clouds passing over, so it went between sunny and cloudy.  It felt good when the mist from the fountain lightly misted me every now and then.  Very relaxing.  Charlie and Sue came to have dinner at the Aurora Buffet with us.  All of our meals were free because they are veterans.  So nice to see them treated good now.  When we were eating, Brenda and Dan (Bruce’s step mom and his dad) came and sat at the table next to us.  We were both surprised!  They had just been in Tawas camping with Bruce and Melissa.  We called Melissa and both we were talking. Melissa was confused because I had just hung up from her and told her Sue was with me, but she thought it sounded like Brenda.  She FaceTimed us then and saw it was both of us. I had sent her a selfie we took but she didn’t get it.  We came up to our room and played Euchre.  All three were close games.  We girls wine 1 and the guys won 2.  Fun day!

Doggie named Sailor!  He is a 1 1/2 year old mini golden doodle, and was such a good dog.  We walked by him, talked to him, and he never moved from his position.  He wasn't on a leash either.

After we ate at Big Boy, Gayla presented Don with a token of our appreciation for him being our Road Captain and doing a great job leading us.  it was a Big Boy Bank

We left our hotel at 8:30 and rode to Manistee for breakfast.  We stopped at Cafe 1907.  It was such a delicious breakfast! Yum!  We drove all day with stops at scenic lookouts, Fish town, Traverse City.  When we walked by all the boats in Traverse City, we saw a cute Goldendoodle named Sailor.  He was a year and a half and was so cute and so well behaved!  We ended up in Kalkaska!  Ate at a Big Boy and had a slim Jim!  Great people to ride with.  Fred let me know he got the DVD ‘s of the Christian Movies I sent.  He was very happy.  He was happy to hear Freddie and Ashtyn rode their bikes to see Melissa and family too!

Wes, Gayla and Bill..We played outside our motel

Me sitting by our little fire place..I told Wes and Gayla I was going to sit by the fire after playing cards outside.  It was kind of cool outside.  They wanted a picture ha ha!
Met at Meijer and left for our motorcycle ride.  It was a beautiful day, 60 degrees when we left, but it warmed up fast to the 70’s.  We had a relaxing ride and stopped along the way.  Our first stop was for breakfast.  It was delicious.  We made it as far as Ludington and checked into the Lighthouse Motel.  Nice cute rooms, but small.  Renee, Dan and Greg rode to Ludington and went down by the beach with us and then to House of Flavors for ice cream.  Christine Holden walked and met us at the beach.  She walked to the House of Flavors with us and had ice cream too.  Afterward she had Bill and I come see their new Condo which was across from the ice cream place but down by the water where the USS Badger comes in.  Her condo was beautiful!  Nice pool too!  She made us coffee, and we visited and then prayed.  Got back to the motel and rested for a while, then went to watch the badger come in.  There were semi’s parked with pole parts for wind turbines. They were enormous.  We talked to one of the drivers and he had crossed on the badger and was going to go to Wheeler to deliver it.  He was a Christian and was from Florida.  We went to dinner at Old Hamlin’s.  We had the perch dinner.  The owner was so sweet.  She even came out and offered to take a picture for us. The restaurant is 60 years old and she has been there the whole time.  Everything was delicious and lots of good homemade food.  Wes and Gayla surprised Bill and I and bought our meals.  So sweet of them!  Melissa called me and told me Freddie and Ashton rode their bikes and came to see them at the State Park In Tawas.  So sweet of them!  It made me so happy! We came back and played 3-13 outside with Wes and Gayla.  Bill won.  I was the big loser.  I did stay under 200 though.
