After feeding comes changing

Isaac helping the kids in the youth group return bottles
Peyton helping return cans and bottles.  The youth group raised $420 from pop cans and bottles for their mission trip this summer

Ate oatmeal and had a cappuccino for breakfast. Got ready, then read my Bible.   Kimmy came over.  She scanned some receipts and we drank our coffee, then she wanted to go out and pick up sticks and burn them.  We went out and filled several wheel barrels full.  Kimmy started a wonderful Russell fire and kept it going.  It was sunny and 61 degrees and I was in short sleeves because I was so warm!  Kenzie came just as we finished.  We finished our last load, then went in and visited with Kenzie.  Rehvyn was so cute. We sure enjoyed holding him and feeding him.  I sure do love him.  Vikki came when she got out of work.  She held him lots and fed him when she got here.  She is a wonderful Grammy.
Melissa didn’t come because she had a scratchy throat and a runny nose.  She was feeling a little better today.  Sure am happy about that.

Bill and I went to Old Town Drive In to use our coupon.  We got two coneys each, a small fry and root beer.  Yum!

We packed for our trip tomorrow.  Then we watched a movie called Love Overcomes.  It was pretty good.

Wed., 2/7/24, Had my colonoscopy with good results, went to The Stockpot for breakfast, went to Sam’s Club, came home and relaxed

Evan took these cool pictures of the sunrise this morning

The Stockpot for breakfast.  It was delicious!  We had 2 eggs, meat, potatoes and toast and the price for each of us was 6.99 which is pretty cheap for that these days.  It was a cute little place too.

Having breakfast at the Stockpot
At St. Laurent’s candy shop...oh what fun.  I wasn’t supposed to make important decisions today, but I sure made some important ones at the candy store lol
Kit Kat and her friend Hershey

I got up at 3:45 a.m. and drank the rest of the colonoscopy prep drink.  Then the fun began.  After that, I got ready and then slept for an hour.  I read my Bible before we had to leave for my appt.  We got to the surgery center and had to wait in the waiting room for an hour.  Then I got called back, they were all so nice.  They took me to the surgical room and then gave me medicine in my IV and said I would be out in a minute.  I remember thinking I sure hope so and then I was out.  It only took 15 minutes.  Next thing I knew I was in recovery and Bill was sitting in the chair.  The doctor came and told he everything went good and there were no polyps.  Best news, plus no more colonoscopies unless symptoms would come that would make it necessary.  YAY!

We went to Bay City to the Stockpot.  It’s a restaurant Vikki told us about that she and her family love.  They wanted us to go there after church on Sunday, but we were already eating with friends.  It was the best breakfast today!  I was so hungry too.  We went to St. Laurent’s after that.  Oh my!  They have so many different kinds of candy and it was so much fun picking out some.   I got some of my favorite chocolate covered orange slices.  Bill got some chocolate covered almonds.  I got some other packaged candy too.  We picked out some for the kids and families.  I was making lots of decisions on my no decision day.

I made sure we can get the Super Bowl on our Roku for Sunday.  I can’t wait to watch the game.  We can even have it on both tv’s now

We came home and it felt good to relax.  I warmed up chicken and rice casserole for dinner. Then we watched a good movie.  I forgot the name of it, but it had another good message.  We watched it on the Roku.  They have a lot of Christian movies we haven’t seen, so I’m looking forward to watching more.

I talked to Vikki and Melissa today and texted with Adam and Kimmy.

Tues.2/6/24, Bill had biopsy, I started colonoscopy prep.,

Bill in recovery after his prostrate biopsy
I am just amazed at how tall this Crown of Thorns plant has gotten.
Isaac in his lunch line...Good thing his mom works there so we get to see pictures

I had to eat breakfast before 9.  Bill couldn’t have breakfast.  We left for the VA hospital at 9
and that’s when I had to start liquid diet.  We got to the hospital at 9:30, then they took Bill back to pre op.  I went to the gift shop.  They started Bill’s surgery at 10:53.  They came in and got me in about an hour and took me to see him in recovery.  He waved when he saw me and told me he was doing really good.  We’re so thankful it went well.  Won’t know results for a couple of weeks, so continuing to pray and believe.  He told me to take a picture of him and then after I did he told me to post it.  We were so happy to see so many people are praying for him.  I was his driver and tomorrow he
will be my driver for my colonoscopy.

When we got home, I made chicken rice casserole for Bill to eat.  I had cooked the chicken in the crockpot ahead of time so it would be quicker to fix for him.  I had chicken soup broth and some lemon jello and some lime jello.  Drank a Vernon’s and then drank water after that.  At 5 I had to start drinking the liquid stuff for the prep and had to be done with it a 6.  It tastes ok now which helps, but it seems like it works faster and gives you less time to get where you need to be. At 8 things at least slowed down some.  At 11, I am supposed to finish drinking the other half of the container.  Not looking forward to that.  Hopefully, I get some sleep tonight.  They gave me a choice of 11p.m. or 4 a.m to drink it.  Not a very good choice I would say.  I’m thinking I don’t ever want a colonoscopy again.

Talked to Melissa, Kimmy and Vikki today.  Texted with Adam.  His school was in secure mode for part of the day today.  I sure was praying.  Happy when I texted Kimmy and she said they were no longer in secure mode.  Great news for this nana.

I’m going to see if I can get an hour nap in before I have to start this prep process again.

Monday, 2/5/24, Bill went to coffee with Charlie, I did some more cleaning, went to my appt., went to Trinity Rider’s meeting

It was a pretty foggy day and the frosty ice stayed on the trees all day
I love this picture of my mom and Kenzie.  Vikki sent it to me today.
This is cute of Rehvyn in his bed watching he mobile Grammy Vikki made

Bill got ready and went to meet Charlie for coffee.  I made oatmeal and a cappuccino.
I read my Bible, then did some cleaning.  Bill called and said he had a retiree’s luncheon to go to.  I got a call from Vikki and she was crying because Rody’s Uncle Leo died.  She always kept in touch with him and he kept in touch with her.  He was so kind and she and Rody loved him lots.  They are sure going to miss him.  Her boss let her go home because she knew how sad she was about it.  I am praying for them and the rest of the family.

Bill called me because he was meeting someone who called who lives in the U.P. and his wife.  He wanted me to meet with them.  I told him I didn’t know if I had time since I had to get ready for my Mammogram appt.  Then I called him back and told him I could come.  He told me the wife didn’t come so I didn’t need to.  I watched a home Christmas movie, then got ready and went to my appt.  I went shopping at Kroger after that.  Cassie was there and came up and talked to me for a while.  She asked what I was fixing for dinner that night, then told me she was making soup.  I told her we were going to Ponderosa.  Then I told her I was getting jello and stuff for my liquid diet for tomorrow before I have to have a colonoscopy.  She asked me about it and said she needed to get that done because her sister passed away last year from colon cancer and it was the kind that’s hereditary.  I told her I would be praying for her and her family that no one else gets it.  She’s just in her early 20’s and is so sweet.  She oversees the young children’s ministry at church and does a great job.

I got home and put groceries away, then it was time to leave for the Trinity Riders meeting.  Bill introduced our new area reps that took our place over this chapter and 3 others.  They are doing a great job.  It was a good meeting and a good message from the chaplain.  The guy Bill met and talked to today came and enjoyed the meeting too.  He sat at our table.
Bill told me on the way home that the retiree’s luncheon isn’t til tomorrow.  He went and had the waitress set up the tables, then he had her set up different tables.  Then he realized after no one came it was the wrong day.  Poor Billy!

Tomorrow is his biopsy, so please pray for good results.

Sunday, 2/4/24, Went to prayer, went to worship service, taught Sunday School, went to Coty’s Landing for lunch, watched a good movie

The New Life shirts we got!  Cute models!!!

A couple of pictures Vikki took of Rehvyn

Nice sunny day with temp of 47 degrees

We went to prayer, then to church.  The worship was wonderful and the communion service was awesome.  After that, I went to teach Sunday School.  Peyton was my student helper and Bri was my helper.  It was a good lesson on the wise and foolish builders in the Bible.
We bought New Life shirts for $5 today.  After today they will be $8.  They are really comfy and a great green color.  We all put them on for church.  It was family day, and pastor went over all that has happened over the past year and what great things the Lord has done.  I have to watch it online since I was out for Sunday School.  Everyone I talked to said it was great though.  We went to Coty’s Landing with Nancy, Ralph, Roy and Marie after church.  We had such a great time!

We came home and took naps.  I didn’t sleep real good last night so it sure felt good.  Vikki face timed me so I woke up.  It was good because I didn’t want to sleep too long.  Bill ate a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.  I went to Walmart and got a H crochet hook I needed.  I stopped at Melissa’s for a few minutes.  Can’t believe how big Evan is getting.  Catching up with Jack, but Jack will probably have another growth spurt too.  I had my half sandwich from yesterday that was left over when I got home.  It was still just a delicious.

Bill and I watched a good movie called I played the Flute.  Another good movie with a great message.  Vikki and Kenzie face timed with me after the movie was over.  Kenzie wanted to show me how much Rehvyn loved the pulldown toy I got him.  He was so cute watching it.  His eyes were open so big looking at it.  Such a cute boy.   I love my family.

Sat. 2/3/24, FaceTimed with Vikki and Rehvyn, Went to Clio with Bill, went to Kenzie’s, ate at Greg and Lou’s

Breakfast this morning...
Avacado on toast and oatmeal.  Of course my coffee in my Kimmy mug too.
So much fun face timing with  sweet Baby Rehvyn

I loved holding him and talking to him.  He smiles and tries to talk back.

So precious of him and papa

Below.....Kenzie, Vikki, Rehyvn and me....4 generations

I love this cute book Kenzie’s cousins, Freddy and Ashton got Rehvyn.  I’m picking some up for gifts for new babies and kids I know.
Me in my heated coat and Bill in his heated vest...He is looking pretty slim!!
Lunch at Greg and Lou’s.  I had their Slim Greg like Big Boy’s Slim Jim and sweet potato fries.  Bill had breakfast!  We also got a cherry pie to go.
I found these two clip picture frames upstairs so put a couple of the pictures Kenzie gave me of Rehvyn in them.

I had breakfast and drank my decaf coffee.  Can’t have caffeine until after my mammogram on Monday.  We read our Bibles in the morning.  Vikki Face Timed me and I got to talk to my sweet baby Rehvyn.  He is amazing how he tries to communicate.  A little while later, Bill asked me if I wanted to ride to Clio with him to go look at a heated vest.  Of course I said yes.  It was such a nice sunny day and got up to 37 degrees. Kenzie called me and I told her we were on our way to Clio.  She told me that was only 28 minutes from her house and asked me if we wanted to come over.  Of course we did!  Bill liked the heated vest and got it.  Now we match, except mine is a jacket.  We went to Kenzie’s and Rehyvn was in his swing.  Kenzie got him out and gave him to me so I could hold him.  I let him sleep and just held him, then he woke up and I talked to him and he just smiled and smiled and tried to talk back, moving his tongue and mouth.  He’s just the cutest.  We are so blessed!  We all had a nice visit.  Travis quit working on glass for a while and visited too.  He took a picture of Kenzie, Vikki, Rehvyn and I....four generations!!!

On our way home, I asked Bill if he was getting hungry.  He was and so was I.  He wanted to know where I wanted to go and I suggested Greg and Lou’s because I love their Slim Greg Sandwiches.  We went and had a delicious meal and nice talk.  He is ordering a part to the light I thought couldn’t be fixed.  It will only cost $25.  I am happy because it’s one of my favorite lamps we have.

We came home and I fed the birds.  They are really going through the food.  Then we both got on our phones and caught up on what’s happening.  My new phone case came, so I put it on.  It’s so nice and was pretty cheap.  It’s a Mag Safe case too.  Melissa showed me it on her phone yesterday and I liked it so much I ordered it and it came today already.  Kimmy likes it too and wants to get one.  We watched a movie called, “Mulligan” which was really good.  Pat Boone was in it.
