Thurs., 11/14/24, Electrician got our power back on, Bill picked up hand warmer for Kimmy, took me to look at the house of the person who sold it,went to Menards, went to Kroger’s,

Basement after Bill and I moved all of the stuff except treadmill and paint stuff to other two rooms
My Christmas Cactus is getting lots of blossoms.  I love watching it.

I was waiting to hear from Vikki to find out if her car started.  Last night it wouldn’t start after she picked Peyton up from Youth Group.  Some people there helped her get it started and Rody came too.  She was going to call me this morning if it didn’t start so I could go give them rides to school.  I got a message from her saying it started.  I was so thankful that she has her car working.

Around 9, the electrician Bill called came.  He found the electrical problem right away and we got our power back.  It was the box that our generator connects with.  Two switches were off.  We had no idea that could affect the power if it wasn’t plugged in.  Then the electrician walked through the house and tested everything and told us what we need to do to upgrade.  He was very nice.  Bill was getting a check written out to him and he told Bill there was no charge.  They do a free inspection for all of their customers.  Bill did make him take $40 though because he fixed our problem and we were so happy he found it fast and it was so easy.  We sure thanked God lots.  We had prayed right before the guy came that he would have wisdom from God and would find it fast and it would be east to take care of.  We sure got an amazing answer from God.

Bill went to pick up a hand warmer and some lighter fluid Kimmy found on Facebook Market Place.  She just got one from the estate sale we went to and it works so well, she wanted both Eli and Jared to have one.  Bill talked to the guy selling it and he was selling his house and told Bill he was selling it for $280,000.  Bill wanted me to go look at it with him.  I did, but prayed for God to shut the door and make Bill not want it if it wasn’t His will.  We got there and it had a huge shed probably 8 times as big as ours or more.  Bill wanted me to like it so he said, see it’s a one story.  A car pulled in and Bill wanted me to walk with him and see if it was the guys wife or the realtor. It was the wife, so Bill asked if we could go through the house.  She said yes, but said it was a mess because they were packing up to move.  I only liked the sun porch, but didn’t like anything else about the house.  She said it is on 5 acres.  I don’t want more land, I want less.
Bill didn’t really like the house either.  The wife of the guy said they were selling it for 350,000.  I sure was thanking the Lord for closing the door.

We went to Menards and got some sprackling and patches to fix a spot there a rocking chair leg went through the wall.  We also need to fix spots in one corner.  We went to Kroger next and got a Turkey and a ham.  Turkeys were 49 cents a lb there.  We got home and unloaded the groceries and put them away.

Kimmy called and I met Jared at the Fencing place and gave him the hand warmer and lighter fluid.  He and Eli are going hunting tomorrow.  I am praying they are kept safe as well as all of the other hunters and that those two each get a big one.

I did my therapy exercises, then my blog, then relaxed with Bill sitting next to me. I love and appreciate him so much.

Wed., 11/13/24, Went to dr. appt., baked rolls, baked a cake and made dinner for Ron and Barb and took it to them, Bill took Sister C to her doctor apt.

No pictures taken today.  We caught two mice, so I woke Bill up to take care of them right away.  Glad to not have them on the loose any longer.  Got ready and took a bath.   Watered my plants which are really growing.  My cactus is getting lots of blossoms on it.  I didn’t take a picture but will soon.  I went to my doctor appt. which I thought was a check up after being in the ER for blood clots, but when I got there she told me it was for my physical.  At least I didn’t have time to get nervous before it.  I also got my flu shot and didn’t even feel a little bit of a poke.  Amazing!

I put ingredients in my bread maker to make dough.  I baked a white cake.  After 2 1/2 hours, the dough  was done and ready to rise.  I also made meatballs to go with the spaghetti I am making tonight for dinner.  Bill checked some more electrical wires to see if he could see a problem.  He couldn’t so tomorrow we have an electrician coming. Praying he finds the problem quickly and it’s an easy fix.

Bill took his sister Carol to her lung doctor appt.  I cooked up some burger for the spaghetti sauce tonight.   Then I took an hour nap.  That sure felt good.  I frosted the cake and then started baking the rolls and making the spaghetti.  Bill got home and brought some banana bread Carol had made us.  It was delicious. We packed all the food in his truck, and our vests and some patches Barb is going to sew on for us and went to deliver their dinner.  We visited for about 20 minutes, then left so they could enjoy their meal.  They are great friends.

We came home and ate our dinner, then had a piece of cake for dessert.  I talked with Vikki.  She found a really neat toy for Rehvyn for 99 cents.  It costs $50 to buy it new.  She always finds great deals.  I texted some with Eli and some with Adam.  Talked to Kimmy.  Bill is picking a hand warmer up that Kimmy found for $5.  She wants her hubby and son to have nice warm hands when they go hunting.  She’s such a good wife, mom and daughter.

We relaxed in the family room before going to bed.

Tues., 11/12/24, I went to therapy for my last time, everything measured lots better than when I started, Paige is a great PT therapist. Met Kenzie, Revhyn and Vikki at Sombrero’s, Gave Kenzie and Travis their birthday presents, Kenzie FaceTimed us so we could watch Travis open his.

Using the family room as our living room still is without power.  Consumers came today, but the problem isn’t outside so they couldn’t do anything to help.  Bill is steadily taking off switch covers, plug covers and checking wires is ceiling fixtures. which our friend who is an electrician said to do first.  He’s almost done with that job.
I was so happy to see this sweet great grandson today.  He is always so happy and just the cutest!  Turned 11 most. old yesterday.  Next month is his year old birthday.  Rehvyn loves his new toys Vikki got from a previous dentist’s mom.  So sweet of her to give them to her.

I got ready, put good worship music on and worshipped, did my hand exercises,  Bill shaved and trimmed his beard.  I like it way better now.  Ate breakfast and then went to therapy.  It was my last day, so Paige measured everything in my hands.  One was good in the beginning and stayed the same.  All others had improved lots! She was very happy and so was I.  I gave her and the other PT therapist in with her each an homemade angel charm, a homemade heart with a cross on it with a Scripture stuck in it and a gift card.  They both have been so kind and caring.  They each gave me a big hug and said they are trying to get an open house get together going of patients they have had and have become friends with.  They said they will let me know when it is.

I went to Home Depot and got glue traps afterwards, then went to Meijer and got a 22 lb. turkey for $10.00.  With Meijer Perks it was 33 cents a lb.  I have been watching and sure was happy for that great price.  I got other groceries I needed too, so spent a little over $100 and got a $10 coupon to use on my next order.  Yay!  I tried to call Kimmy and let her know.  She is picking one up for me to have for Christmas.  She called me back and I told her they were on sale now.

Bill helped me carry groceries in.  He was still working on the lights, and covers to switches and plugs.  What a big project.  He had the shower lights put back in and did a great job.

At 4:30, we met Kenzie and Rehvyn, and Vikki and Peyton at Sombrero’s for tacos.  It’s taco Tuesday!!!  They were yummy and only $1 each.  We had fun hanging out together while we ate.  We gave Kenzie her and Travis’s birthday presents.  She opened hers in the parking lot quickly as it was cold out.  She was happy with her dehydrator.  She FaceTimed me later so we could watch Travis open his.  He loved his new Crocs.  They looked really good on his feet.

Bill saw a mouse last night.  We also smelled a dead mouse in the family room.  I cleaned out two end table drawers that mice had gotten into and washed everything down and also washed the drawers out.  I put two glue traps out and hopefully will catch that bugger.  He must have snuck past Kit Kat.

Worked on my blog, then relaxed.

Monday, 11/11/24, Happy Birthday to Kenzie, We love you! Went to breakfast, Bill got all of his good free deals for Veterans Day

Happy 27th Birthday Kenzie!  We love you so much!
Bill, me and Jim at Golden Corral for their free Veterans meals.  Bev couldn’t make it because she fell and broke her shoulder, so we took a picture and sent it to her and told her we missed her.
Kimmy sent pictures of the boys with their pizza’s and pops from Papa
We got up early and went to Denny’s for breakfast.  Maddy and Alec were supposed to meet us there, but woke up late.  We saw Debbie and Dale Honold eating their breakfast.  We talked to them for a while, then went and got a smaller booth.  Breakfast was good.  People were really lined up to eat after we got done.  We saw Cherry and Arnie and talked to them for a while.  We decided next year we would come with them for breakfast.  Now if we only can remember.

Bill checked on getting his free haircut, but there was a long wait.  They gave him a voucher to come this month anytime.  We also got a free carwash at Tommy’s.  My car sure needed washing.  We went to Home Depot and got paint for the basement floor.  After that we got some pizzas and pop and delivered them to Melissa and family.  We went to Texas Roadhouse and Bill got his free voucher for a meal.  He can use it anytime up to May.  We delivered pizza’s and pop to the other girls for their families too.  Bill got his free pizza from Freeland.  I called and they made him one with no cheese.  This is the third year we have done that.   We went to Midland and he got a sub from Subway for half off, a free cookie and a free pop.  We came home and relaxed for 45 minutes before we had to leave and go to the Golden Corral to meet Jim there and for the guys to get their free meals.  Bev ended up not coming because she fell and broke her shoulder and it was in too much pain.  It was cold and very windy out, but we only had to stand outside in line for about 5 minutes.   We sure were stuffed after eating there.
We came home and got the internet working, then read our Bibles, and then relaxed for a while.  I did a load of laundry.

We went to church after prayer.  Prayed for people at the altar after church.  Went to eat some Birthday Cake at the VA hospital.  Brad and his mom followed us.  Everyone had already left.  We all had cake, but there weren’t any plates so we ate on napkins.  Bill did find forks in the cupboard for us.  We had some good laughs trying to eat it without forks.  We left there and went home because our friend Gene from church who is our electrician, came to try to help us figure out why our power is out.  He thinks a wire is broken so Bill has to check all switches and plugs to try to find it.  I picked Jack up at 12:45 and took him to his school for his band concert.  Went back home and we ate some goulash.  Went to Jacks concert at 2:45.  Sat with Melissa and Bruce!  After the concert, we took pictures, then headed home quickly and changed in 10 minutes, then headed to the Double Tree for the Marine Corp. Ball.  Busy day for sure!!!  We had a great time and the food was so delicious!  We came home and read our Bibles.
Relaxed for a while and worked on the blog. My cousin Jim turned 85 today!

Saturday, 11/9/24, Adam finished clearing and then painted the basement, We went to Peyton’s play

Bill got up on the roof and power washed the siding. It was moldy and dirty.  He did a great job although he made me very nervous. I sure prayed for him!
Bill also did the back of the house, the did our front sidewalk.  We have to pick up the filler for between the bricks.  That’s a project for this week
Adam’s nice paint job
Isaac, Eli and Peyton
Rody photo bombing lol
Bill Peyton and I
Cute Peyton

I got up and shortly after, Adam got up.  We ate breakfast and then I read my Bible.  I talked to Sue to see how she was doing.  She still was having a hard time so I prayed with her. Adam was already downstairs mopping the floor.  Every time we changed the water it was super dirty. He’s such a hard worker and did an amazing job cleaning it. Bill called me and was at Menards and wanted me to look at a paint sample colors and together we decided on one. We picked light grey and Bill brought the paint home.  Bill and Adam brought the air hockey game up to get rid of it because the leg was broken.  After that, Adam started painting.  He only took time off for eating lunch and dinner.

Sue called me to let me know she was with her sister in law and was heading to her friend’s memorial. I was so happy to hear she was going.  I had been telling her she should, because I knew it would be good for her to get out of the house and be around friends.

When I told Adam I was making goulash, he asked me if i would do him a big favor and make enough for him to take Hope a container of it. Of course I said yes!  He’s so thoughtful!!! Hope has walking pneumonia and is just starting to feel a little bit better.  I have been praying for her.

Kimmy, Eli, Vikki, Rody, Isaac, Vershon, Ann and Bill and I went to Peyton’s play again.  They did an even more amazing job tonight.  Lots of great actors and singers.
Peyton did so good and sang right out. She has a beautiful voice!

We got home and Adam had the whole basement painted and also the stairs and walls around the stairs done.  So amazing that he could get that all done in a day! We were looking at the basement and he FaceTimed Hope.  She wanted to say hi to me.  I was so happy to see her and talk to her.  She still looks under the weather. I told her I was sending her some goulash.

For some unknown reason, after we got home,  The power was off in the living room, dining room, half of the kitchen, the back outside lights, the lights inside our shower (the rest of the bathroom lights worked) the hallway and the light in the utility room.  The washer and dryer work, my refrigerator, stove, microwave and coffee pot all have power.  We tried lots of things but nothing worked.  Bill texted our friend Gene to see if he can stop after church tomorrow.

Friday, 11/8/24, Vikki came over, Kimmy and Jacob came over, Bill picked Max up, Bill, Jacob, and Max picked Eli up from school, They went to Jays, then Cops and Donuts

Bill and Max working on a gun
Kit Kat caught a vole and put it right in front of our door...Good Kitty!
Eli enjoying a donut from Cops and Donuts as he showed me on his phone how he checks calories and logs stuff in
Jacob...so nice having him spend the day
Adam drove over after school.  I’m so glad he loves to drive and likes to come over
Eli, me, Adam and Jacob....I am really looking short these days

Adam is giving our basement a good cleaning and is doing an amazing job.  I have been dreading doing it, but he wants to do jobs to earn money, so it didn’t take me long to find one.  Bill is going to have him paint the basement next.  He is an awesome worker who does everything cheerfully.  I sure am appreciating him.

I got ready.  Vikki came around 8:45.  Kimmy was on her way and got here shortly after with Jacob.  I had picked up blueberry muffins, so we all had one for breakfast.  Vikki had tried to make her oatmeal, but the packs she opened didn’t look good, so she didn’t eat them.
We had fun hanging out with her until she had to go to work.  I was on the phone praying with Sue when Vikki left.

Bill picked Max up and brought him over, so we all watched him skillfully working on fixing a gun he and Papa wanted to practice with.  Bill took Jacob and Max to Clare to go to Jays and then to Cops and Donuts.  Kimmy and I watched some NewsMax news and then decided we were tired so we would take a little nap until the guys got back.  Well they got back a couple of minutes later, so no naps for us.  They had brought us yummy donuts though, so that helped us wake up and not feel tired any longer.  They were the best donuts too.

Vikki called after she got out of work, and wanted us to meet her at an Estate Sale.  The first one was not going to be until tomorrow, so we met her at another one.  Kimmy, Vikki, and Eli found stuff they liked and bought.  Eli FaceTimed Rody and showed him some cool camera things that Rody liked and had him pick up for him.  I didn’t find anything I couldn’t get along without.  It was fun looking together.  The stairs going upstairs were a little scary as they were steep and the floor was crooked when you got to the top.  None of us enjoyed going back down them.  I was glad there was a handrail.  They paid for their stuff and then Vikki left to pick up Isaac from school, and Kimmy, Eli and I went to Menards so Kimmy could buy a broom to go with the cool long handled dustpan she got at the sale.  When we got back to my house, Adam was there.

Jacob had to leave.  Bill started looking for watches for Eli.  He found one Eli really liked and gave it to him.  They had fun looking at stuff in Bill’s big tote.  Kimmy and Eli left after that and Adam stayed and is going to spend the night.  He wanted to get right at cleaning the basement, so I showed him what to do.  He started vacuuming and getting all the spider/cobwebs out from the rafters in the ceiling.  When he finished that, he and I went to Subway and picked up a 6 inch rotisserie chicken sandwich.  Adam got a foot long with tuna, tomatoes, pickles and sweet onion dressing on it.  He looked at Hope’s text to see what to get on it.  He’s so cute.  Then he went downstairs and vacuumed the floor and dusted everything off that was down there.  He washed some tables off.  He came up after that and will mop the floor tomorrow.  What a great worker and wonderful grandson he is.  We all relaxed in the living room after that.  I worked on my blog to get it done, so he can use the computer to play a game with his family at home.
