With our special sweeties on Christmas day!

Christmas morning, Kimmy, Jared and the boys arrived first. We got lots of hugs and Christmas greetings.  Soon after Vikki, Rody, Kenzie, Peyton, and Isaac came.  More hugs and greetings.  Then Melissa, Bruce, Hailey, Max, Jack and Evan arrived.  We snacked on goodies and then Bill read the Christmas story from the Bible and the grandkids put the nativity together as he read the parts.  So precious to hear and see this.   Kenzie had to drive to school for wrestling practice.  We opened gifts, starting with the kids first and then the adults.  The kids were so fun to watch and so excited! Then Papa and I got to open the gifts Jacob and Adam got us when they did their shopping.  I got a beautiful flower holder from Jacob and a glow stick from Adam.  Papa got a cute ruler from Adam and Jacob got him a cool ice fishing pole.  He opened Hailey's next. She had shopped by herself too at her school and she got Papa a tape measure that said, "Caution, Grandpa at work".  So sweet and special!  We are blessed with our grandchildren. So happy they could shop by themselves and surprise us.  Their personalities sure came through with their gifts.  After the grandkids, The girls and their hubbies opened their gifts.  Then is was Bill and my turn. We all got such nice gifts and the person who got the gift was as happy as the one receiving the gift.  Such a loving, caring family!  So thankful to God for His greatest Gift of Jesus, a beautiful family and beautiful celebration of the birth of Jesus.  On Christmas Day, we started our day out by going to Melissa and Bruce's for Christmas at their house.   The kids opened their presents and then they gave papa and I ours and their mom and dad the presents they had shopped for. So fun to see what they got us.  Max got me a mug full of candy and organic tea, Hailey got me a beautiful cutting board with a beautiful saying about a recipe for kindness on it, and Jack got me a pretty little stuffed bear.  Hailey got Papa a orange and black Harley Davison Pocket Calendar, Max got him a nice pair of work gloves, and Jack got him a cute stuffed animal.  After gift opening we got to eat the goodies Bruce made...homemade bread and cinnamon rolls.  We also ate chocolate peanut butter balls and peanut brittle that Hailey helped make.  After that we went to visit Vikki, Rody, Kenzie, Peyton and Isaac.  So fun to see all the toys the twins got and watch them play.  Kenzie gave me a cute rainbow colored friendship bracelet she made.  Had yummy coffee and tried out Vikki's electric throw.  Loved it!  It was so warm and soft.  After that we headed home and got some turkey, dressing and rolls and headed to Kimmy and Jared's.  They had invited us to eat.  They had delicious ham, mashed potatoes, corn, plus the stuff we brought.  Ate too much again!  Later we had Jared's homemade banana bread.  Yum Yum!  So fun watching the boys play with their legos.  I could have sat there all day and watched them.  Amazing legos these days!  We headed home before dark and watched a couple of Christian movies and relaxed for the evening.  MERRY CHRISTMAS AND THANK YOU JESUS!

12/20/13 Bruce, Jack ,Luke, Max, Ally and Hailey singing Christmas Carols at Walmart and ringing the bells!

Our Christmas tree this year!
Loved hearing them sing!  Trying to post a video but haven't been able to so far.

When I got up this morning I turned TV on to see if schools were closed.  They were because of icy roads.  Kimmy, Vikki and I were supposed to get together to bake cookies, but decided I would start baking them at home myself.  Kimmy couldn't come because of the roads so she baked cookies at her house.  I made an extra batch to take to Melissa.  She wanted me to leave them plain so their family can decorate them.  After I dropped them off, I came home and baked 2 more batches.  I'm taking them to Kimmy's tomorrow to decorate cookies together.  Bill and I went to the Maple Grill for dinner tonight.  He had meatloaf and potatoes and I had chicken pot pie, squash and potatoes.  Very good.  We got an apple turnover to go.  Went and pick up Melissa and Evan on our way back, and took them to Walmart with us to see Bruce and the Kids Bell Ringing.  They did so good.  People really put money in the kettle.  Some would say they'd be right back and go to their cars and get their money.  One lady put money in and then gave each child a dollar to have themselves.  The kids all put the dollar in the kettle though.  So sweet.  Got home and cleaned up my baking mess and then Bill and I watched a movie.  Forgot to mention Papa took Kenzie shopping so she could get what she needs for wrestling.  Fun Papa/granddaughter time!

12/14/13 Schaard Christmas Party at Fred and Lourdes's House

Had another enjoyable and fun time with the Schaard family for our Christmas Celebration.  Ate turkey, Ham, red skin potatoes, salad, corn, and mixed veggies.  Everything was so good.  Then we played Family Feud.  Our team, Vikki, Jared, Bruce, Bill (captain of our team) and I came in second.  Fred and Lourdes had all sorts of wonderful things in a gift bag for each team.  The Baker's came in 1st.  We played another game next where Fred read a story which had a lot of left and right words.  We had all brought Lottery tickets for the game and he put them in envelopes and we all had to pass the way he read.  If you messed up you were out of the game.  Only Aunt Debbie and Denise got out.  Aunt Debbie didn't pass the envelopes and ended up with 3.
This is my gift from Debbie this year.  All my grandchildren are the little marshmallows!  So cute!  Below is my gift from her last year.  So special.  Love all those grandkiddos listed.  I am truly blessed!  Thank You Lord!
