8/10/15

Dad changing our flat tire.

We took our camper in today to get a window fixed, the awning spring fixed, a crack taken care, and the refrigerator hose replaced.  It was pouring when we took it.   Later we took a ride.  Went and had a malt (dad had a shake) and split an order of fries.  We had a flat tire so dad had to change it.  We didn't see anything in it so went to Discount Tire in Midland as it was pretty close and we wanted to have it checked out.  We just got new tires in Feb.  They found a slash in the side of it and gave us a new $175 tire for $26.  They also rotated our tires for free.  We were happy they replaced the tire for that amount.  Last night  I sprayed the bees nest.  Dad and I had gone to Home Depot to look at things to clean gutters out.  The thing Bill was looking at was $79.  I told him we needed to think about it as a sales guy was helping us.  I thought the gutter pipe was blocked but went out after dark and got on the ladder to try to clean it out and stick something down it.  It was only leaves and stuff blocking it.  I cleaned it out and the water went pouring down.  Yay.  No expensive equipment needed.  Thank you Lord.   Today I cleaned the other two gutter ends out and no more waterfall over in front of the garage.  So happy.  Made spaghetti for dinner tonight.

Bill at Culvers

Gayla told me a few days ago she had one lilac on her bush and how weird it was.  Today I noticed one lilac on my bush too.  Smelled so pretty!

Bill did a very good job sharing about CMA this morning at Brian's church in Birch Run.  It was a fun ride and we ate at Big Boy afterward.
We went to Meijers to meet to go to Birch Run Baptist church for a church visit to share about CMA.  We had 11 of us riding together and then a few more came to service at church.  Bill did great and the pastor did a great job on the service too.  We had wonderful prayer with everyone in a big circle in the church for Brian and his upcoming surgery Wed.  We all went to Big Boy afterward to eat. Bill had the breakfast buffet and I had soup and salad.  It was delicious.  Love their cabbage soup.  Rode home and rested for a while.  Decided to go visit Kenzie at work.  She was doing fryers but she saw us and came out to say hi.  Then she went right back to work and looked pretty busy.  Proud that she is a good worker.  We had concrete mixers which were yummy.  Went to Home Depot afterward and got Wasp and Hornet spray.  We have lots of wasps so needed to spray.  Hopefully that takes care of it.  Watched a good movie called The Gift on Netflix.

We got a great welcome when we got to Covenant.  Covenant employees were standing waving and yelling as we pulled in.  They didn't have a lot of pediatric patients which was good, so only about 5 people got to got up with bears.  The little girl was on a tv monitor behind  guy in this pic.  We all walked by and said hi to her and waved.

We went to the Harley Dealer today at noon.  We decided to go to Tim Horton's and then went to Walmart to get a bike post to make it easier to put it on the bike rack.  I thought it was going to be $30 but it was only $16 so that was good.  We also stopped at the camper show in Bay City and went through some 5th wheels.  Some of them were so fancy and had huge bunk houses.  We saw a little A frame camper like the one at BayShore so I took some pics of the inside.

Our care group got together at G's Pizzeria tonight.  Dennis Ward, Kim, Dennis Watkins, Penny, Bill, Erica, Andy, Shiela, Denise, Roy and Marie showed up.
Got up and washed all the sheets from the beds in the camper.  Hung them out to dry.  Called Vikki to see if she wanted to go to Sanford Lake with me.  She said yes, so she got the kids ready and I packed sandwiches, snacks and watermelon and got my water bottle ready with ice and water.  When I was backing out of the garage Isaac told me not to hit his mommy's car.  He's so funny.  We had so much fun.  The kids didn't like going in the water at first but later Peyton loved it.  We had a nice picnic and then we went to the splash park. Isaac liked it better than Peyton.  She finally went in with Vikki.  Silly kids.  We went back to the beach and they were both happy playing in the sand.  When we first got there, they reminded me I forgot the beach toys.  Someone left a bucket so after a while Vikki let them play with it.  No body ever did come back for the bucket.  There was a big metal shovel by it too but didn't let them play with that.  What I loved was that they took the things out of the parking lot that I ran over with Kimmy's van.  It's about time.  I have so many great memories as a kid and also taking our kids, grandkids and going with my dad to Sanford lake.  Love spending time there.  We left at 3:30 and went down Saginaw Rd. so we could stop at the the Country Creamery.  I had my favorite black raspberry chocolate ice cream and Vikki had Raspberry Cheese Cake.  Peyton had cotton candy and I think Isaac had superman.  We went out in the back and sat at a picnic table while we ate them.  Then the kids sat in the little chairs they had there and then they climbed in a big tree.  Got home and got ready to go to G's with our care group.  We had so much fun and great pizza.  Stopped on our way home to pick up teddy bears for Covenant Kids motorcycle run we are going on tomorrow.

8/6/15

The sweet lady to the left of the man in the blue shirt in the center had this cottage at Bay Shore.  She was always so sweet and looked just like Grandma Daisy.  I always looked forward to seeing her, but this year I found out she passed away.  I almost felt like I was losing grandma Daisy again. So weird.  Happy she knew the Lord and is with Him now.  Also happy I found this picture of her.

After spending time with the Lord and reading His Word, I started cleaning the house.  It hasn't had a good cleaning in a while since we have been gone camping so much.  Felt good to get it done.  Stopped to watch the noon news with Bill and then cleaned some more.  At 2:45 I went to Vikki's for a few minutes then headed to His Restoration to mow the grass with Kim Reminder.  We tried to start the lawn mower and couldn't.  Then Kim said she remembered you had to clamp the bars together with the clamp someone had on it.  Well she started it right the first pull and away I went.  I couldn't stop it from propelling so had to go fast on turns and when I cut around poles I had to pull really hard to pull it back where I needed it.  The sun was out bright so I was really hot and sweating.  Bill came over after he was done at the VA hospital.  I asked him to pick up the eave trough so I could cut under it as I couldn't stop to pick it up.  He mowed a couple of spots for me and showed me it was clamped wrong.  Actually the other bar was the one that needed the clamp.  Things went much better and much slower on turns after that.  Kim did the weed whacking, blew the grass away and watered plants.  Just as we were leaving, I got a phone call.  It was the Ford Dealer wanting to let me I could bring my damaged vehicle in.  I told her I didn't have a damaged vehicle.  Then she said what kind of vehicle it was.  I gave her dad's number to call.  Then when I got to Vikki's I called dad to ask about the damaged vehicle.  He said he was going to tell me.  He even gave her my number.  A week ago we were in Pinconning and he told me jokingly there was something I was going to have to forgive him for.  I right away asked what he hit with the lawnmower but didn't get an answer.  Walked around the yard the next day but didn't see any damage.  Well, today, a week later and after the call,  he told me the tractor got stuck in the ditch out front and he had to pull it out with the truck.  He hit the brick light post out front with the truck.  He was trying to miss hitting my bush we had planted last year.  Could have been upset but just too thankful he didn't get hurt bad and the tractor didn't go way down in the ditch with him on it.

Went to our officer's meeting tonight.  It was at Sullivan's because the Texan went out of business.  Nice surprise....Jackie, Craigie's mom, works there as a hostess. We hugged and were so happy to see and talk to each other.
