10/27/15

Hailey, Abby, Jack, Max and Evan

Adam and Eli at Jacob's concert

Jacob playing the clarinet at his band concert

Jacob and the rest of his class did great and sounded so good.

Eli, Jacob and Adam after Jacob's concert.

Bill had an evaluation appt. in Detroit for the VA today.  Charlie went with him because I didn't want to take a chance on missing Jacob's first band concert.  His appt. went well.  I cleaned out a drawer and updated some small picture books of the grandkids.  Then at 2:20 I went to Melissa's to watch Evan.  I drove the truck as dad had the car.  Visited with Melissa for a few minutes and prayed for her about Jack's dr. appt. she was going to.  At 2:40, Evan and I left to go pick up Hailey and Max from school.  I was so excited to see them.  On our way home, we stopped at Vikki's to pick Mocha up and drop some stuff off to Vikki.  Isaac and Peyton helped her so much watching Mocha and letting her in and out for Vikki.  Wish I would have taken a pic of them while I was there.  Sure am thankful for the good care they give Mocha.  Mocha likes it there as well as at home.  Then I asked the kids if they wanted to stop at Tim Horton's.  It was a unanimous YES.  We went there and all picked out a donut and a drink.  Evan didn't want a drink.  We saw Louise and her friends there which was nice.  Took a donut home to Melissa and Jack.  They were home when we got there. I left and dad got home shortly after I was home.  Was happy to have him home to go to Jacob's concert with me.  Right before we left, Gayla called me and I could tell she was crying.  It scared me so I asked what was wrong.  She told me Lori died.  I was so sad to hear this.  Lori was so sweet, kind and so giving.  She never complained no matter what she was going through.  She was very talented and loved making things for people.  She had a port put in last week and couldn't have dialysis after having it in.  Then least night we got a message saying she had a blockage in her neck and was having emergency surgery so to please pray.  Then today she got a blood clot which went to her brain so she passed away.  Such a loss for us but a gain for heaven.  Will miss her so much.  On the 18th we were celebrating Kimmy and Vikki's birthday at our house and Lori came to pick up two free tickets we gave to her and her mom for the Newsong Concert on Sunday night.  She came to pick up the tickets.  That was the last time I saw her.  She was happy and looked good.  She gave me a rose her mom picked for me from their rosebush.  I admired them and smelled them when I dropped Lori off at her house last week.  It was a rose bud and all week I watched it open.  It died the same day as Lori.  We left for the concert.   We were excited to see the boys at the concert.  The concert was so nice.  Jacob looked handsome and played his clarinet so nicely. His 5th grade group sounded so nice.  So did all of the other classes and the high school marching band was amazing.  Really enjoyed this.  Walked out with Kimmy and Jared and we were parked really close together which was nice because we had a bushel of apples to give to them.  On the way home Bill asked if I anything from McDonalds.  The line at the McDonalds by Jacob's school was too long so we didn't stop.  Bill stopped in Freehand instead and we got hot fudge sundaes.  They were yummy.

This was the view out of our 4th floor room window this morning.  It was so beautiful.  I don't see anyone in the outdoor hot tub.

We went for a ride and the color was gorgeous!

Love how Jacob played his song for us.  He is doing so good!

Went to Shopko in Gladwin and got a new water bottle.  Yay, I have missed mine that flew out of the motorcycle.  So happy to have another one.  I drink so much more water when I have this.

We slept in this morning.  I slept until 8:30 which seemed so nice because usually when we stay in a hotel I am up at 6:30 to get ready for a continental breakfast or meet another couple.  The bed was so comfy and pillows were great.  Took a wonderful shower and got ready.  We had time to relax and read our Bibles and check our phones before checking out.  Went to Bob Evans for breakfast.  Had Pancakes with blueberry topping, ham and coffee.  Took a ride through town and then down a country road and saw beautiful color.  Next we headed to the Shopko in Gladden to see if they had my Thermos water bottle on sale.  Yay, they did.  On the way home we stopped at Kimmy's.  Had a nice time visiting with her.  Took a walk to see her Kale.  Fed some to the chickens and then went and checked the strawberries and raspberries.  The chickens started hopping in to peck at the berries so we shooed them out.  We found a couple of raspberries to eat.  Yum!  The boys were happy to see me when they got off the bus and happy to see Papa when they got in the house.  Loved how excited they were and how they were so excited to tell Kimmy about their day.  Great boys!  Jacob played a couple of songs on his clarinet.  I was amazed at how good he plays already.  Got big hugs and headed for home.  Bill had an elder's meeting at 6:30.  Prayed for him before he left and then spent time in prayer for Pastor and all of the elders.  All of us elder's wives were praying at home.
Watched a movie while waiting for Bill to get home.

10/25/15 Cole's first time at New Life.

Kenzie looked absolutely beautiful and Cole looked very handsome at church this morning!  It was Cole's first time at New Life.  He said he really liked it.  It was sweet because Bill and I were praying for someone and Cole wanted to talk to us, especially Bill for a while before they left so they came up front and waited for us to get done.

We were surprised to have a hot tub in our free room!  It's bigger than what it looks in the picture!

Our room

Not many in the pool.  We sure enjoyed our time in it and relaxing by it

Forgot our selfie stick in our room, but decided to take one without it.
Selfie stick time now.  Waiting to get into an Italian Restaurant.  Compfy couch to wait on.
Bill waiting for his spaghetti in this really nice Italian restaurant.

We met at His Restoration this morning at 10.  We had a good turnout from both care groups.
Ladies did the inside and guys did the outside stuff.  It didn't take long with so many of us.  Afterward we met at G's for pizza and fellowship.  We had a really good time.  Came home and watched the movie, A Horse for Summer.  Packed for our trip to Mt. Pleasant tomorrow.  Can't wait.

10/23/15

                         Kimmy fixed my angel today
Peyton and Isaac playing
Kimmy, Vikki, Peyton and Isaac came to spend the day.  Kimmy fixed the holes in my angel Aunt Debbie got us for grandma's funeral.  Bill had hit it with the lawn mower and it had two big holes.  It looks great and I just have to paint it and I can put it back out.  YAY!  Thank you Kimmy.  She also sewed a shirt for Melissa and Sewed Vikki's sweatshirt.  What would we do without our Kimmy?
After the girls left, we ate and went to Bay City to Jim Jonroe's mom's showing at the funeral home.  She passed away unexpectedly.  On our way home we heard that Dennis Ward and Amy in our Bible Study were in a car accident.  Amy was unconscious for a while, her friend Cherl probably has a broken rib.  Both cars were totaled.  Please pray for all of them and for those in the other car.

10/22/15

Happy to be getting off onto our exit.  Lots of Detroit traffic so many slow downs.  It was 8:20 a.m. and our appointment was at 8:30.

Arriving at the VA Hospital

Always love walking through Great Lakes Crossing in Auburn Hills.  You know what that means!

Yummy cinnabons!

Such a nice time here

Saw our friend at the Rainforest Cafe.
We got up at 4:30 and got ready to go to Bill's appt. in Detroit.  On the road by 6.  Stopped at Tim Hortons for a french vanilla cap. and banana nut muffins.  We got caught in lots of traffic slowdowns, but made it just in time to his appointment.  Got right into the doctor and saw the physician's assistant first, then Dr. PJ second.  That's what the nurse told us they call him as we always have a hard time remembering his name, Pierre Jacques.   No trouble remembering PJ ha ha.  We really liked both of them.  They were caring and seem to have lots of wisdom.  Bill has to have blood work since the dr. saw a spot where the bone looked like it was deteriorating.  He said it could be infection.  If so they will have to do surgery, put a spacer in, wait two months for the antibiotic to clear the infection up, then they will have to do knee replacement surgery again.  We sure are praying there's no infection and for healing of the pain in his knee.  He got in right away in Xray.  Then we walked through the VA store and looked around.  Headed for the lab next.  It was very busy, but time passed quickly.  A guy asked if he could sit in the chair next to me so I told him ok.  We started talking and he told me he was a miracle and he shouldn't have made it two years ago.  I told him we had lots of miracles in our family too.  He told me he was autistic also.  I told him he was pretty outgoing for being autistic and he said he put phones in for people so he had to learn to be outgoing.  He was talking to everyone around him.  I asked him if he believed in Jesus as his savior.  He said their were many good teachers.
I told him the Bible says there is only one way to get to heaven and it was by believing in Jesus as your savior.  He said when he sees Jehovah Witnesses he always thanks them for their time and effort.  Maybe that is what he was.  We had to leave shortly after that.  Praying for him now.  We left and decided to go to Great Lakes Crossing.  Had a nice time walking through there and enjoyed their cinnabons.  YUMMY!!!  Picked some up to surprise Vikki as we know how much she loves them and we knew we would be going right by her house.  She was pretty happy which made us happy.    We stopped in Bridgeport to eat at a Cracker Barrel too.  More Yummy food.  When we got home Bill burned the stuff in the garden  and I balanced the checkbook.
