Day 131, 7/25/2020, Sarah Cline's Wedding Day, Kimmy and family called me and made my day!

Sarah was a beautiful bride
Waiting for the wedding to start. We walked to this spot from the building in the background.  The reception was outside the building in the tent and on the open deck of the building

Woke up and prayed for Sarah and Nathan and their wedding day.  They are such an amazing couple and a perfect match.  I read my Bible and ate oatmeal.  Prayed too.  I stained the top board where the solar cover goes this morning.  Bill put up another board and stained it too.  I washed out the paintbrushes and then started getting ready for the wedding.  We left at 12:30  Kimmy and family called me while we were on our way there.  It made my day!  We were both so happy to hear from them and hear some of their adventures.  We got to Rives Junction at 2:30.  It was a beautiful place called the Black Barn Vineyard and Winery.  It was quite a walk to the big tree where the wedding was.  You could ride in a golf cart, but we chose to walk.  Such a pretty setting for a wedding.  Pastor Ken did a wonderful wedding ceremony.  He choked up a few times during it.  Sarah is the last to get married and the baby of the family.  Joan and Emily were emotional too, but very happy for Sarah.   The wedding reception was supposed to be inside, but because of the Covid Pandemic, it was outside.  The owners made an area for a tent and fixed up around it beautifully.  The deck to the building had a railing like ours only they used bigger cable and the put funny looking clip things at both ends of the deck.  They had people wear masks if they went in the building or went into the bathrooms.  Last week, Sarah had to call some people that were invited and tell them they wouldn't be able to come because of Covid restrictions in place by the Governor.  She said it was so hard and she cried lots.  I can't imagine having to do that.  They had desserts all packaged up for each person to take.  Lots of hand sanitizer around to use.  We danced a couple of slow dances, and then we left for home.  I talked to Melissa and Vikki on the way home.  It was such a fun day.

Day 130, 7/24/2020, Vikki came over and we stained the deck

Plant I put in my planter is growing so much
Charlie and Sue paid us an outside visit today
I did the floor in the storage area by the filter
Vikki did the bigger storage area floor
The deck around the pool all stained

End all stained
Other side all stained
The deck all finished.  Vikki worked so hard and stayed till it was done

Got up early and hoed our garden.  Wasn't too bad so weeds were easy to take care of. Vikki came in the morning and we got the floors of each storage area stained.   Then we started on the sides.  She worked so hard.  We listened to Worship music while we worked.  Sue came to visit us for a while when we were staining.  Bill and Charlie went and got coffee from Tim Horton's and when they got back to our house, we all visited on the deck.  Vikki kept working at staining and let me visit with Charlie and Sue.  I was happy to get back to staining with her.  At 7:30 we finished the whole thing.  It looks so beautiful.  Vikki helped pick up all the paint stuff and stuff laying on the deck.  I sure am praying she gets good rest tonight.  Rody kept the kids for her.  I sure missed them today.  We didn't even go for a swim today.
When Bill can get back up on the deck when it's dry, he will finish the cable wire.  I went to Melissa's for a little while and visited.  Max came out of the driveway right before I pulled in and was going on a bike ride.  He turned around and came to see me which made me very happy.  Jack and Evan had a race down the road with their roller blades.  They sure are fast and really good skaters now.  Hailey, Melissa and I visited by the camper.  I sure have missed Melissa and was happy to get to talk to her.  Came home and relaxed in my recliner and worked on my blog.  What a big blessing and relief to have the deck done.  Amazing that we got the whole thing finished today.  What a blessing Vikki was!

Day 129, 7/23/2020, Went to Kimmy's, Bill made the backside door to the deck, Stained the deck with Vikki, Peyton and Isaac helped Bill with cable on deck and lots of other stuff

Got the deck boards under the steps done.
The deck looks great all stained.  Vikki did the big end and I did the smaller end

Peyton (taller than Isaac because of the stool and happy about it)!  Isaac maybe not so happy about it lol

Vikki and the kids came over at 8:30 a.m. and we both drove our cars to Kimmy and Jared's. We weeded the garden, watered blueberries and plants, weeded the flower beds, checked pool, and checked animals.  Gave the cats some attention too!  Isaac did and absolutely amazing job helping weed the garden.  Peyton took a while to get with it, but was tired from not sleeping good last night. She picked up speed after a while and did good then.  Isaac kept at it the whole time.  He said it was fun several times.  There were lots of weeds right by the plants, but we got them pulled.  It is so nice to help Kimmy and Jared as they do so much to help us always.  Their garden looks beautiful and is super huge this year.  It is pretty amazing to see how wonderful all the plants look.  Vikki went home to shower and eat lunch and then came over to our house to help.  Bill had the back side door of the deck done and it looks beautiful.  He has sure made the deck look great. Vikki and I worked on staining the deck.  Kimmy and family called from Eagle River today.  I missed the call because we were up on the deck staining it and I took my watch off because I didn't want to get stain on it and my phone was on the lower deck.  Didn't hear it because we had music playing.  Bummer.  They left a really sweet message.  I sure was sad I missed their call.  I sure loved their massage though.  I miss them so much and can't wait to talk to them.  Vikki and I got the deck floor around the pool done.  She sure is a hard worker and a great help always.  She did the big side of the deck.  It was like she was super woman.  Afterward, she used my brush to touch up and said her brush was so much better and held more stain.  We all (except Bill) went for a nice swim after we had and ice cream break.  We moved the pool steps and put a ladder up so we can still use the pool while we can't use the deck for two days.  Bill worked on the deck while we stained, and Peyton and Isaac helped him a lot.  It was cute how he taught them things and they were right there asking what they could do to help.  After Vikki and the kids left, we ate.  I realized then that we didn't do the deck under the steps.  I did it after I finished eating.  I sure found out how wonderful Vikki's paint brush was. Wow!  It made the job so much easier.  It was nice having it so cool and nice out too.  It didn't take long.  I talked to Vikki part of the time while I was doing it because Isaac called me.  She offered to come help me, but I didn't have much left to do.  She worked so hard today!  I know how tired she was as I was tired out myself.  I missed talking with Melissa today.  I plan on calling her tomorrow and dropping by to see her at a distance.  I am so blessed with a wonderful family!  I sure love them!

I started staining the lattice that will go behind the deck steps.  Bill met Rich Dudek this morning.
I am happy he is doing well.  I got a call from Vikki Eagle to pray for Charlie in Ann Arbor.  They are seeing how extensive the cancer of his esophagus is.  We found out he has no cancer of his thyroid though so that good.  I swam with the kids.  Vikki and Bill worked on the deck all day.  They really work good together.  Isaac learned a lot and helped lots too.  There was a chance of rain, so I couldn't stain.  I warmed up salmon on the grill, made potatoes, and hot dogs.  We all ate, and then packed up food for Vikki to take to Rody.   Peyton helped me carry my stain stuff and put it where I needed it.  I stained the top rails of of the deck.  Bill and Vikki made the door to the deck bottom and did an amazing job.  They worked all day and got lots done.  The kids were so good and great helpers.

Isaac and the sunset
Peyton with the sunset in the background

Made oatmeal, read Bible and prayed out on the deck.  Bill started mowing the grass, so I went and mowed it for him so he could work on the deck.  He told me I did a good job mowing it.  Pretty easy with a John Deere.  We went for our daily swim.  My favorite way to get exercise.  I dehydrated more Kale.  Made us BLT's for lunch with lettuce and tomatoes from our garden.  Love having the salad spinner to get the water off.  Vikki and the kids went to spend the day with Matthew.  Bill worked on the deck until he ran out of parts.  They are supposed to come tomorrow.  I pulled some weeds that were coming up in a crack under the shed garage door.  Looks much better.  We have some really nice pumpkins coming in the garden.  Fun watching them grow.  I made Salmon on the grill and it turned out so good.  Bill told me it was great when he was eating it.  We watched an old Jeopardy they were showing instead of the regular one.  Every contestant bet their whole amount and got the question wrong, so they all ended up with 0 money.  It happened 35 years ago.  Vikki cut Hailey's hair outside with face masks on, and then came here afterward and dropped off some shorts she ordered from Old Navy for me.  Bill had her help him with the deck so she stayed until after it got dark.  She sure was a great help and they got lots done.  Peyton and Isaac were so good and played so nice.  Isaac climbed way up to the top of our big tree.  Yikes!  Peyton and Isaac also helped Papa when he needed them to pick up wood pieces.  We had drumsticks for a treat.  They had fun catching lightning bugs and putting them in a Pringles can.  It was a nice cool evening, so we opened the windows and put the big house fan on.

Day 126, 7/20/2020, Went to Aldi's & Hobby Lobby, Bill started the wire cable for the deck, Vikki came over, Peyton and Isaac swam

Mini salad spinner...works great for kale and lettuce from the garden

My medium Raspberry chocolate chip ice cream

Bill is doing a great job with the wire cable

Got up early, ate out on the deck, then read my Bible and prayed.  Went to Aldi's and got salad spinners for Vikki and I.  They are mini's but are a great size and won't take so much room to store.  Went to Hobby and found some material and a planter.  The planter was regular 59.99 but it was 66% off, plus I had  a coupon so it ended up being 20.  Bill started working on the cable wire.  He needed a crimper, so asked me to ride to Kimmy's with him so he could try to find theirs to borrow.  We looked in the workshop, but didn't see it.  Bill said maybe they left it in the house, or the van.  I prayed for Jesus to help us spot it as we were leaving and right then, Bill saw it.  Yay God!  We checked the garden, looked over the garden and blueberries, and added chlorine to the pool floater. We stopped at the Country Creamery for ice cream on our way home.  They were real safe there and the ice cream was all packaged up in containers.  Even though the parking lot was full, there was no one in the store when we went in.  They had an automatic hand sanitizer, a spoon dispenser, and it was very easy to social distance there.  They have added a back patio, but no one was on it.  Everyone was spread out over the big yard in back.  We just went to our car and ate on our way home.  Came home and Bill started doing much better with the cable installation.  I went swimming, but prayed for him to do good and for God to help him.  I left the solar cover over the middle of the pool and could still swim easily under it.  The wire cable looks so nice now.  Vikki came over and Peyton and Isaac went swimming.  Papa went swimming with them too.

Day 125, Sunday, 7/19/2020, Went to church, Rain Storm and high winds

Fun watching this cute fawn in our yard today

Bill, Isaac, Peyton and Rody...lots of branches blew down in their yard during the storm.  Bill took the trailer over to help

It was stormy out and very windy when we woke up.  Vikki sent a video of lots of branches down in her yard.  We went to church, but it was raining so hard we almost turned around.  Kept going and it at least let up a little when we pulled in the parking lot.  Really good worship and message.  Came home and had brunch.  Tied up the tomato plants more and had to straighten up the pepper plants because the wind blew them all over. Bill took the trailer to Vikki and Rody’s to load with branches.   Saw a cute fawn in our yard walking all over.  Bill and I went for a swim.  Had to skim some leaves out of the pool from the wind storm.  We took turns.  Wondering how Kimmy did in Copper Harbor.  Hope no bad storms there.  Our WiFi isn’t working since the power went out for a few minutes this morning.  Replaced elastic on some face masks for Melissa and then dropped them off at her house.  Visited for a couple of minutes.
