Sat. 10/7/23, Kenzie's Baby Shower, made chicken salad croissants, picked Sue up, went to shower, Kimmy and Jack dropped our tables off

I made the croissants and put them in the refrigerator.  Got ice in the cooler and got it cooled down so I could take them to Vikki's in that and keep them nice and cold.  I picked Sue up and took her to the shower with me.  Charlie and Bill went to the Sandusky CMA chapter breakfast and meeting.  Kenzie's shower was amazing.  Everything was beautiful, the food was so delicious and the desserts were scrumptious.  Kenzie and Peyton made all the desserts....a beautiful cake, little cupcakes, dirt dessert, a dessert with lots of different fruit in it, chocolate covered strawberries, cookies, lemon bars and tiny donuts.   Vikki made lots of great sandwiches and yummy pasta salad.  It was so nice spending time with people we love and seeing Kenzie's baby blessed with so many nice things.  I got to finally meet baby Penny who was named after me.  She is beautiful and the sweetest little girl.  She's 9 months and is walking all over already.  She was so friendly and even came to me from her mom.  She loved Peyton and Melissa too.  Melissa always has had a way with baby's since she was little.  That hasn't changed.  We got to meet Alexis's baby girl too.  She's so sweet and beautiful too.  I was happy to see Jessie, Bruce's sister there.  I haven't seen her since she was a little girl.  She was so nice.  Vikki, Kenzie and Kimmy did an amazing job preparing for, decorating and putting this shower on. The prize table was amazing. Kimmy made some pottery gifts that were beautiful and Vikki and Kenzie found such neat stuff.  What a fun shower it was.  Kenzie looked beautiful!  It was fun watching her and Travis open all those baby gifts.  Can't wait for great grand baby #1 to get here.  Love him so much already.  I felt him have the hiccups today.  So cool.  Kimmy and Jack brought our 3 tables and 4 chairs back here.  That was so sweet of her to do, so we didn't have to go back and pick them up.

Friday, 10/6/23, Went to Sam's Club and Meijer, went to Vikki's, went to Melissa's, picked Peyton and Isaac up from school, washed windows, cut croissants in half and made chicken salad for Kenzie's shower tomorrow

I can't believe I didn't take any pictures today.  I drank a thermos of water before having my coffee.  Then I ate my oatmeal a had my coffee.  I got Kenzie's shower gift and card ready.  Bill took his summer clothes upstairs to the closet and brought down his winter clothes.  He also thoroughly cleaned his closet downstairs.  It had lots of books and things piled up that he went through and took to Goodwill.  I donated a few things and added it to one of his bags. We loaded the tables Vikki wants to use in Bill's truck, then loaded the folding chairs she wants to use in my car.   I listened to another one of Jacob's pastor's messages while I drove in my car.  Such amazing messages!  I went to Sam's Club to get the croissants and chicken salad for the shower tomorrow.  Bill met Charlie for coffee.   I sampled some delicious salad with apples, almonds, bacon, gouda cheese, and lettuce at Sam's Club.  It was so good, I picked a bag up.  I don't usually buy what I sample.  I went to Meijer afterward and picked up a few things and also got a Starbuck's 4 pack of Cappuccinos.  I went to Vikki's at 1.  We put the Cappuccinos in the freezer so they would get nice and cold.  We worked on hanging a beautiful Welcome Baby sign, and set up the tables and put table covers on.  I ran to get some command hooks from the Dollar Store.  Kenzie put prizes together and arranged the prize table.  It was beautiful.  Kimmy had made some pottery pieces for prizes, and Vikki and Kenzie found such cute stuff.  They had all made the balloon arch before I got there.  It's beautiful too.  We ate delicious scalloped potatoes and ham that Vikki made lots of for us.  She is like super amazing.  Kenzie and I ate the salad.  The girls don't like nuts and are fussy about what kind of dressing they have.  Kenzie takes after me and likes almost everything.  Bill didn't make it on time, but called later to see if he could still come eat.  Vikki told him yes, so he came and ate too.  I picked up Peyton and Isaac up from school.   It was fun listening to them tell about their day.  We stopped at Melissa's so I could drop off Evan's headphones papa gave him.  Then we went to McDonald's and I got them a hamburger and a frappe. I dropped them off at home, then went to the Dollar Store to get some wrapping paper and a bow since Debbie didn't wrap her gift.  Kimmy and I wrapped it for her so it would look pretty tomorrow.  Kenzie and Peyton were making desserts for the shower when I left.  Everything looks so amazing.  It is going to be a beautiful shower with nice gifts for everyone and yummy food and desserts.  Kimmy, Vikki and Kenzie all did an amazing job!  Kenzie knew just what she wanted it to look like and found beautiful things at great deals.  She takes after her mom. I washed the outside windows when I got home and unloaded everything from the camper that needed to come in for the winter.  I gave Kit Kat some attention too.   I ate dinner and then made chicken salad up, and also cut the croissants in half so tomorrow all I have to do is make the sandwiches and cut them in half.  Kimmy got to feel the baby kick really good, but when they told me and I felt, baby stopped and went in to rest mode.

Thurs., 10/5/23, Kimmy came over, We listened to Jacob's pastor's message, The Kernel Burner guy cameMelissa and Evan came over, Vikki came over

This picture came up in my memories today.  Adam was so cute and little.
Evan sitting by our first fire.  The guy started the fire to make sure it worked fine after he pulled the whole thing out and cleaned it
Silly Evan or should I say, the Statue of Liberty
Evan tried it on Badger
Me and Brielle when I got to watch her for a little while tonight
Brielle loved worshiping with Phil Wickam.  She would raise her arm move it around.  So precious
She didn't want to put them in the shape top, but loved putting them in the bucket and taking them out

She's getting so big!

Kimmy came for a visit.  I made coffee and started cooking burger to make goulash.  Ate some oatmeal.  Kimmy had already eaten oatmeal at her house.  We talked to Kenzie for a while.  After that, we listened to Jacob's pastor's message on Roman's online.  What a great message right from the Word of God and preached in truth.  He sure was interesting the way he gave word pictures.  He has a great voice to listen to and you can sure tell he loves Jesus and follows him.  Loved his boldness for the Lord.  I am so thankful Jacob has such a great church to go to and a great Christian group on campus.  I can't wait to listen to another message later.  Melissa and Evan came over to visit.  Evan has today and tomorrow off from school.  He loved showing us his new keyboard with all the colorful lights.  Very cool!  He was so happy when Papa got here and played ping pong with him.  He is going to be a great player.  He already plays really well.  He is so much fun to have around.  I made goulash to have for lunch.  We all were eating and the guy came to clean our kernel burner.  He cleans it once a year because he pulls it right out and cleans the chimney part way and makes sure everything is working well.  He found a bat again.  He finds one every year.   He gave me some tips for when I clean it again.  It started right up when he turned it on and it ignited.  We all went in to sit by it for a few minutes after he left, then we turned it off.  It was starting to get warm even though it was just a small flame because it was turned way down.

Melissa brought Badger.  He sure did lots of neat tricks.  Our favorite was waving.  He would lift his paw up and then move it up and down.  He was so cute.  He is such a nice dog.

Bill was going through some of his stuff and was passing lots of stuff to Evan.  Some junk, some treasures lol.  He gave Kimmy a couple of treasures too....two pair of reading glasses.
Vikki came over when she got out of work.  She ate a bowl of goulash and we visited and relaxed.  It was sure nice having the girls and Evan here.

Kimmy left when it was time to go get Eli.  Melissa left at the same time.   I read my Bible and then got ready to go to Maddy's to watch Brielle for 1 1/2 hours for her.  Alec had an interview he had to go to.  Brielle was so sweet and I was happy she remembered me.  I haven't seen her much as we have been camping lots and had lots of stuff going on for a couple of months now.  She ate good for me and then I gave her a sugar cookie I brought her and she really loved that.  Maddy's mom and dad live in the duplex next door and heard Maddy's puppy, Winston, barking.  They came and got her and took her to their house where the puppy's sister lives.  Maddy's mom was going away for a while.  She held Brielle and hugged her and kissed her.  I thought Brielle might not want to come back to me from her grandma, but I held out my arms and she came right to me with a smile.  I was sure happy about that.  We had fun playing and watching Phil Wickham's worship video.   Alec got home and I talked with him for a while about how his interview went.  Then I left and went to Walgreen's and got a pretty baby gift bag, some cards, and some lotion.  When I went outside it was raining lightly.  I tried to cover the gift bag with my two other plastic bags and make it to the car without it getting wet.  I put it in the hatchback and shut it, got in the car.  Stacie called me and I talked to her for about 15 minutes.  She passed her test to be an insurance person.  It was a hard test and she took an accelerated class so had to learn lots in a short time period.  I am very proud of her.  I hung up because Bill had tried to call me and I wanted to see what he wanted.  He wanted to know if I wanted him to bring me a 5 Guys hamburger home.  Of course I said yes.  He and Max went there.  I have heard about how good they are.  I started driving and it down poured.  Boy was I glad that didn't happen when I was caring the gift bag out.  It would have gotten ruined.  There wasn't a bag big enough to put it in.
I was going to drop off Evan's headphones, but decided it was too hard to see to drive with the downpour, so just headed home.  I prayed right away for Bill and Max because I knew they were driving back from Flint and didn't want them to get caught in a downpour.

I got home and put everything away and turned the outside lights on for Bill so he would be able to see good when he got home.  He got home and gave me my burger.  It was the best hamburger I have ever eaten.  YUM!  So delicious.  I see why Max loves them now.  Bill read his Bible.  Melissa and I talked for a long time on the phone.  I love my family!

Wed., 10/4/23, watered the grass, walked the rail trail with Melissa, Kimmy, Adam and Eli came over, then Jared brought our car back, went to Jack's game

Another beautiful day for reading the Bible.  In the 80's
Me and Melissa on our walk
It was beautiful on the rail trail.  A breeze was blowing, the leaves were falling and the shade was appreciated
Some colors as we walked....Melissa with her beautiful smile!
Jack...3rd from the right..This was taken really far away.  Bill's phone camera sure takes great pictures
Jack in the middle next to white shirt #3
Jack walking 4th from the left...Beautiful sunset in background
Kenzie's ultrasounds today....looks like such a beautiful baby.  Reminds me of Kenzie in these

Jack played great tonight.  They won 3-1

I watered the new grass all morning.  Kept moving it where needed.  It is looking good.
I sat out on the deck again this morning and read my Bible and drank my coffee.  Kit Kat was right by my side again.  Bill read his Bible inside.  At 12:40, I went and picked Melissa up and we went to the rail trail and walked almost 2 miles.  Then we stopped at McDonald's on our way home and got cheeseburgers, frappe's and split a large fry.  It sure tasted good.
The Nationwide Alert went off when we were driving home.  When I got home, Bill was tilling the garden.  He looked tired, so I took him out a water.  He doesn't stop to drink like he should and ends up having cramps in his hands.  I am trying to help get him drinks so that doesn't happen.  I cut down some of my peony plants and pulled grass out of my flower garden.  Kimmy called and said they wouldn't get their car for another 3 weeks.  I told her it is a good thing we are going to be gone for a week, because we wouldn't need my car.  Then she told me it would be done today and they were bringing my car over.  Jared had told her it would be 3 weeks.  I told Bill the same thing and he fell for it too.  Kimmy, Adam and Eli got here after Adam got out of school.  I got snacks out for them and totally forgot to take pictures of them.  Jared came shortly after and had a few snacks too.  After they left, I made some chicken noodle boxed soup and Bill made his special dumplings for it.  It was so hot, he had me pack his up to eat at the game and I left mine home to eat when I get home after the game.  We picked Melissa up and took her to the game with us, then Bruce and Badger came after half time.  It was a great game.  We came home and I ate my soup and enjoyed it at the right temperature.  It was my day to pray for our pastor who is on a prayer retreat, so I did some more praying.  We sat in our love seat recliners and relaxed.

Tues., 10/3/23, Walked with Melissa, Went to Vassar with Melody and Debbie Davis to pray for a client of Melody's

Kit Kat was pretty comfy next to me while I read my Bible outside.  She liked her paw on it.
Beautiful fall day in the mid 80's.  Always cool on hot days on this side of the deck

Day of fasting and prayer today.  I spent the morning searching for Scriptures for our prayer time in Vassar today.  I went to Melissa's to walk around her subdivision and get some exercise while spending time together.  Melody picked me up at 3:15 and we went to Frankenmuth to pick our friend Debbie up.  Then we headed to Vassar.  We had all been praying and now prayed together.  We shared some scriptures God had put on our hearts.
We went to Heather and Chris's house and sat at the Kitchen Table and talked.  Heather was so nice and after we shared God's Word and our testimonies with her, she wanted to pray and accept Jesus as her Lord and Savior.  We led her in a salvation prayer.  Talk about great joy.  We were rejoicing with the angels in heaven.  We walked through her house and prayed over each room.  Then we went out in the shed and prayed over it.  The previous owner had committed suicide out there, so that was the main reason why Heather wanted us to come pray.  She told us she was moved to tears and this was such a special day.  Then she asked if we could pray for her mom who is having knee surgery on Wed.  We all prayed and then left.  We were sure rejoicing at what God did!  Nothing gives you more joy that's for sure.
We dropped Debbie off, then I called Bill to see if he could meet me at the church because Melody had Bible Study there at 6:30.  I shared with him all that God did.  He saw Charlie today and said Charlie was doing much better since his procedure yesterday.  So thankful.  What a great day!

Monday, 10/2/23, went with Charlie and Sue to U of M Hospital

Sue and Charlie looking at Coloring Books a girl gave us. She gave us crayons too!  They are neat coloring books.  I think Peyton will like mine
They just took Sue back to recovery.  Not many people left in the waiting room now!

We got ready, ate breakfast and drank our coffee, then waited for Charlie and Sue to pick us up.  It was in the 60’s when we got up, then got up to 80 degrees quickly .  Nice day for a ride and a nice visit along the way.

We got to the right building easily and then sat in some comfy chairs and waited.  We had to be there 2 hours early.  That gave us time to pray for successful surgery with no complications.  There was an emergency surgery, then another surgery before Charlie’s, so our wait ended up being longer.  They took Charlie back to prep him for surgery at 3.  Bill, Sue and I went to the cafeteria and got yummy salads for lunch.  We passed a worker who offer Sue a wheelchair.  That sure helped her as she will be having knee surgery in November.  Vikki called and I talked to her for a while.

Well because of complications with other patients, Charlie’s surgery didn’t start until 6.   We should have prayed for on schedule surgery lol.  At  7 we talked to the doctor and he said everything went well.  Waiting for him to get out of recovery which can take are up to 2 hours and then will finish this blog post.  Yay it is 7:55 and they just came and took back to recovery.  He’s awake now.  Thanking Jesus!!!  Charlie felt bad because we had to spend the whole day there, but we told him we didn't mind at all and that is what friends are for.  He would do the same for us.

We had a peaceful ride home with the moon shining brightly and not a whole lot of traffic.  We got home around 11 p.m., read our Bibles, and went to bed at 12:30.

Sunday, 10/1/23, Went to prayer, to church service, to lunch with Marie and Roy, Roy and Marie stopped over afterward, went to see The Blind with Kimmy, Jared, Adam and Eli

Lunch at Olive Garden with Marie and Roy.  The guy at the table in back of us was a veteran and was celebrating his 99th birthday.  He was so nice to talk to.
Bill, me, Kimmy, Adam Jared and Eli at the show seeing The Blind!  It was so good and very touching.  It brought tears to my eyes several times.  What an amazing true story and testimony of Phil and Kay Robertson of how Jesus changes lives.
Eli and Adam after the movie.  We were missing Jacob.

We went to prayer first.  Prayer was awesome and so was worship and the service.  Pastor Ken gave an amazing message.  We went up to pray for people after the service.  Then we went out to lunch at the Olive Garden with dear friends, Marie and Roy.  We had a great lunch and a good visit.  They came over afterward to see our motorhome.  They are selling their 5th wheel and are thinking of getting something smaller.  We sat in the motor home and visited for a while.  We read our Bibles and relaxed for a while, then headed to Midland to see the movie, The Blind, with Kimmy, Jared, Adam and Eli.  We all loved it.  The movie theater was almost full which was great to see.  What a life changing movie for people to see.  Adam said afterwards, he wants to take Claire.  It will be a movie I buy.  We wanted to buy popcorn and pop for everyone, but Kimmy had bought their snacks.  Bill did get a refill for free of our large popcorn, so he sent it home with them.  He loves doing that!  What a fun day it was.  God is good and has blessed us so much.
