10/8/07

These are two pictures Kimmy took of Hailey and I at church. Everyone thought it was so cute that we dressed alike. However, we didn't plan it. It was nice having Kimmy, Jared and boys at church today. We were glad they came to visit. It was nice having all the grandkids in the same row. We got many compliments on them of course. After church, we went to Aunt Milda's 80th birthday party. Very good food there so we were stuffed when we left. After that we were on our way to an Elder's training session at church again. They had subs there for us. Talk about eating good. We sure did. The picture of Mocha was taken by Kenzie. At first Mocha would sleep behind the orange bed grandpa gave her. After a day or so, she moved into the bed and now I have to drag her out of it in the morning to go outside potty. I'm at Melissa's right now. She is doing so much better today it is amazing. I am very thankful. We just ate Coney dogs for supper. Yummy. They were from our favorite coney place.

10/6/07

Well, I don't have time to put pictures on, but Kimmy has great pictures on her blog so click on her name to see them. Today was really busy. 114 of us met at church and put on our tee shirts on and went to clean up some city blocks. Lots of work to be done by some very hard workers.
Bill and I felt bad that we could only help for 20 min. then we were off to his cousin's funeral.
He was 59 and died from Parkinsons. Very sad because of the loss, but joyful because he trusted Jesus as his Lord and Savior so we know where he is. After we left there, we stopped back to finish helping the church crew. Then we were off to our last ride of the year for our motorcycle group. The ride was nice, but there were two accidents. One guy didn't stay focused and missed a curve. Praise God he was just scraped up and not much damage to the bike. If he would have flown over or under the guard rail it would have been bad as there was complete drop way down on the other side of the guard rail. The other accident happened when one motorcycle about 10 bikes ahead of us hit another motorcycle. No one hurt again, but lots of damage to both bikes. We are thankful for God's protection over them and all of the rest of us.
It could have been so much worse. We came home and went to visit dad and then Melissa. Bruce was making two cheese cakes. He may not know how to hang laundry out, but he sure can cook and bake. What a blessing to Melissa!!! He is taking great care of her.

10/2/07 Forgot to mention...

Forgot to mention the other day I saw signs of a mouse so I set a trap. Caught a big one in the glue trap. Couldn't seem to catch him in the regular trap. This morning I got up and saw something in the dog's water dish. I thought it was a big leaf and almost picked it out until I saw the tail. A small mouse had drowned in the dog's water. Jared disposed of it for me when he brought Kenzie home. Then when he picked Kenzie up after he got out of work, he saw a mouse in the bathroom and stomped him to death. Jared is irreplaceable that's for sure. Thank you Jared. You can do the mouse stomp here anytime. You're amazing!!!

Haven't blogged for a couple of days so have lots of pictures I've been storing on my camera to post. I've been keeping Melissa company and helping with the kids while Melissa takes it easy and recovers from her surgery. She was much better today re the headaches, but still has the swelling and drainage. I will be so glad when that clears up and she's back to normal. Anything to do with the spinal cord makes me nervous. I was glad she went to the doctor today for him to check on it and he thinks all is well and whe will be better soon. Thank you Jesus!!!!
We have had nice visits and many good videos to watch. Hailey and Max have been very good! Hailey did want to know for sure that her mom was just going for a check up and she would be right home. She asked me about it a few times. She is so grown up at times and she sure prays some great prayers and always volunteers to be the one to pray. She is so cute. Max always adds a loud amen at the end of her prayer.
The picture of Max with the funny look on his face is the one I took when Melissa told him to make his happy face...He sure don't look happy to me. Hailey helped me cook dinner. She put the french fries on the baking sheet and did a great job.

Jared and Kimmy had fun with the kids in the leaves. They always make fall a special time for the kids. They found a huge beehive up in the tree by the house. I've never seen such a big one. Yikes...I will keep my distance.
Tonight Jared picked Kenzie and Mocha (our dog) up to go to their house and spend the night. Kimmy groomed Mocha with her new clippers and did a wonderful job. I put a picture on that I took from Kenzie's blog because I thought it was so cute.
Kimmy does better than the professional groomers. I am thankful she is so good at all the different things she tries. Kenzie loves going there to spend the night. There are so many fun things for her to do and she loves Uncle Jared and Aunt Kimmy to pieces. I wish I would have had an aunt and uncle like that when I was growing up. My mom was an only child so I missed out in that area.

9/29/07

Bill and I went to Kimmy's yesterday and we took lots of pictures while we were there. We got some very cute ones of the boys, even though Jacob likes to run away when he sees a camera now. In one both Adam and Papa are biting their lips. Then there are a few of Sammy. We took him some apples. Jacob carried three for him and the picture turned out so nice. Sammy was his loving, happy self now that the vet took care of him. He sends a big smile to all of you. (See picture) He's my favorite horse in the world and it's so good to see him so happy again. Nutmeg liked her apples too, but she is very lonely now that Celeste isn't there with her.
I especially like the picture of Bruce's laundry on the line. I think he took lessons from Bill as they both hang clothes out the very same way. They need to take lessons from my dad, 91 yrs. of age, who hangs laundry out perfectly. Mom trained him well! I had a good laugh when I saw Bruce's hanging job. He is doing a terrific job taking care of Melissa, Hailey, Max and Champ. I took Hailey to her dance class. I set the video camera up in the corner and taped the teacher so she could practice during the week. I also got Hailey on camera. At first she didn't participate, but when she turned to look at me (I was kneeling behind her) I whispered to her that if she did what the teacher said, I would take her for a surprise when she was done. She stuck her little foot out there and tapped, tapped, tapped. By the end of class she was doing everything and the teacher high-fived her. All the teachers said how great she did this week and asked her if she wanted to lead the train. The kids form a train and march out the door. She said yes and walked right over to get in front of the line. She was so cute. I had to smile. When we got out to the car, she told me she wanted to go to Tim Hortons. Off we went and got donuts for Hailey and the rest of us. I told her I will take her bowling when she goes into her dance class by herself. Now she is talking about doing that so we are excited. When we got to her house and watched the video, she did every single move. Max did all the moves too and was adorable to watch.
Today, Bill did a wedding. It was beautiful and a gorgeous day for it. We went to the reception and God opened the door again to share the miracle He did for Melissa with the couple we were sitting with. I love tellling "what good things the Lord hath done". God is great! On the way home from the wedding, we stopped at a moving sale and hit the jackpot so to speak. Bought a beautiful couch and I don't know what you call the other chair thing. Also got a beautiful patio set with two glider chairs and 4 regular chairs, thick cushions, big table with umbrella and small round table. Also got some nice other things, including a basketball hoop for the grandchildren. Maybe the big children in the family too.
