Fri., 5/24/24, Fed birds, watered plants, packed last minute stuff, baked a rhubarb pie, took a chipmunk to it new home, went to Sue’s, left for

Below are pictures of our Russell hardworking grandsons working at their Aunt Debbie and Uncle Tom’s. She said they were the best workers!

I ate breakfast and drank my cup of coffee, then went outside to see if I caught anything.  I caught another chipmunk and delivered him to his new home with his relatives.  I loved seeing my bluebirds this morning. Didn’t see my orioles, but filled their jelly jars and put a new orange out. I put sprinklers on my plants I didn’t water last night.  Packed last minute things in the camper.  Went to Sue’s to drop off some cabbage buns.  Charlie was just getting home. He wasn’t doing good last night, so I asked if I could help him.  I took the groceries into the house for him while he put olipops in the refrigerator in the garage.

I talked to him more when i went back outside to leave and gave him a hug goodbye.  He found out what his problem was so should be doing better soon.

I came home and fed the birds, then we left for BayShore.  We got there at the same time as Barb and Ron.  Wes and Gayla came about 25 minutes later.  We parked in a square facing each other, with the fence making up the last side of the square.  The guys helped each other with outside stuff.  We all played the penny game with Wes and Gayla and had fun.  Ron and Barb came and learned how to play it too.   Wes, Gayla, Bill and I went putt putt golfing.  We are camped right next to it.  We had lots of fun and the temperature outside was perfect.  Bill was the winner.  We ate, then went to ride the wagon into town to there’s Barn for ice cream.  We had a nice time visiting while waiting in line.  We came back to the campground and it had cooled down a lot.  Some workers got let off the golf cart at the Ambian hall and the young girl driving offered me a ride.  I hopped on and rode the rest of the way.  I sure did thank her.

We all got warmer clothes on , then sat outside together and visited.  I talked to Hailey and Melissa while they were walking two miles.  Hailey is coming up to visit us in the morning for the day! Yay!  We came in the camper and read our Bibles, then played 3-13.  I was the winner tonight, but it was close.

Thurs., 5/23/24, 17 years today my mom and best friend passed away, I miss her everyday! She was the best mom ever! Made bread dough, made brownies, picked rhubarb, Wiped down tables outside, put cushions on swings, Kimmy came over, we took a chipmunk and dropped it off, had our coffee outside on the deck, went to two Aldi stores, Menards and the Home Goods Store, took Bill for neck injections, put umbrellas on outside tables, moved tables and cushion box, weeded around shed, Bill power washed lounge chairs, a table and umbrella stands, I watered plants outside

Silly Kit Kat relaxing while Kimmy was here
My beautiful sweet mom
Made brownies and cabbage buns for our camping trip
Table Bill pulled out from the storage area under the deck
After he power washed it!!!!
Moved stuff around on the deck....moved the table over so it’s not under the tree so hopefully doesn’t turn green anymore.  Moved the box we store our cushions in on the other side of the fire place so it is now closer
When Kimmy was here this plant was completely drooping over.  I watered it and tonight it is almost back to normal.

It’s been 17 years since my mom passed away.  She was so loving and we always spent lots of time together and made so many wonderful memories that I treasure.  She was the one I always wanted to talk to when something good happened or something bad happened.  She was my encourager.  I miss our talks and her great hugs so much.  Because she trusted Jesus as the only way to heaven and I do to, I will get to see her again.  I am so thankful to God.
I got up early to start two batches of bread dough in my bread makers.  After that, I made brownies.  I went out on the deck for a while, and saw that I caught a chipmunk.  Yay!  I tried Lela’s (Jared’s mom) method of no bait.  It worked great as I caught another one later too.  Both were dropped off across the river with their many relatives who have gone before them.  Kimmy drove me the first time and the road was closed, so we had to go to a different spot.  When I took the second one later, the road was open.

Kimmy and I sat outside on the deck and drank our coffee and watched birds.  We decided to go to Aldi to look for tables for her deck like mine that fold.   We went to the first Aldi and no tables.  Then we stopped at Menards and they had one, but it was super heavy and was 40 dollars.  Yikes.  We went to the other Aldi’s but they didn’t have any either.  Kimmy checked and Target had some like I have.  We went to the Home Goods Store too and they didn’t have any.  We came home and I told Kimmy to take my round table from the front porch.  We don’t sit on the front porch very often, so I didn’t need one there.  It took me some taking, but I finally talked her in to taking one.  She had to leave and I had to get Bill to the pain clinic for his neck injection.  It didn’t take long and he came out.  Kimmy messaged me and she found one just about like the one I gave her at target and got a price match on it so saved money.   I made my cabbage buns and baked them.  They turned out really good.

Bill and I put the umbrella’s out in their stands over each table.  He got them from under the deck and they were really dirty.  He found a little round table just about like the one Kimmy took, but it doesn’t fold up.  It will be a perfect replacement for the one on the front porch.  I would give that one to Kimmy too, if it folded and also matched better.  Bill power washed everything while I weeded around the shed to finish the weeding job in the whole yard.  Yay!   We moved tables and chairs and the rubbermaid box I keep the cushions in.

We came in and had peanut butter and crackers for a snack.  We each had a cabbage bun for dinner, then we read our Bibles.

Wed., 5/22/24, cleaned house, grocery shopped, watched bluebirds, Facetimed with Kenzie andcRehvyn and also Vikki and Peyton, Vikki and Isaac had eye appts. And ordered glasses, packed some stuff in camper

My Clematis was so beautiful this morning in the sunshine.  It sure is loaded with blossoms
Male bluebird in flight on the left of the birdhouse.  Female on top of the bird house
Mrs. Bluebird was busy as could be and sat on top of the bird house lots even until 8 p.m.
Mr. was busy too, but mostly flying to and from the bird house and going in instead of sitting on top
After I shopped at Sam’s club, I got a piece of deluxe pizza and a big pop combo for $2.50.  I couldn’t believe how big the pizza was.  The picture doesn’t even look as big as it was.  I couldn’t even eat it all. I never have done this before, but will be doing it again.  It was so good.

It was nice out this morning and 70 degrees, so I opened up windows and doors and turned the attic fan on to suck in the cool air.  It works great to cool the house down before we get  the air conditioner in.  Bill met Charlie for coffee.  Charlie said that he didn’t have to have much fluid taken off the lung that usually has lots.  He said it was a miracle.
My foot was great today. l could even go up and down stairs without it hurting at all.  Dr. did a great job freezing it yesterday.  I vacuumed the downstairs and scrubbed all of the hard floors on my knees.  I thought of Bill’s grandma asking us to get her knee pads when she was 77 so she could scrub her floor.  I used kneeling pads that are for the garden and they worked quite nicely.  Sure helps be comfy while you scrub.  Kenzie FaceTimed me and talked for a while.  I got to see my precious Rehvyn and talk to him too.  He was smiley as usual.  Kenzie was making cabbage buns so was making the dough.  Talking to her is what made me decide they would be good to bring camping.

I ate a late breakfast and then read my Bible out on the deck.  I bird watched too.  I was super happy when I saw the female bluebird on the house. At first I wasn’t sure because I was far away, but then I saw the male bluebird and I knew for sure.  I haven’t seen them since Kimmy took the picture.  I have been gone quite a bit though.   Kit Kat laid by me and was a good Kitty.  She has been doing good with the screen door so far.

I went to Sam’s Club and got the burgers and hotdogs for Memorial Day.  I froze them and will put them out the day we leave for camping.  Sam’s Club had great sales on all of their chips too, so I picked up lots of them.  Got all the buns we will need, but there were sure not many left on the shelf.  I think only 4 packs of hot dog buns and I took 2 of them.  Must be graduations and Memorial Day shoppers buying lots.  I talked to Vikki, and she and Isaac had their eye appointments today.  She needs bifocals and Isaac got glasses that turn into sunglasses in the sun.  They are really cute on them.  I just saw the frames because they have to wait to pick them up.

I brought those groceries home and Bill helped carry them in.  Bill needed a tension rod for the outside storage area of the motorhome, so I went to Meijer’s and got that and a couple more items I needed.  Then I went to Jack’s and then to Aldi.  I picked Bill up a Rotisserie Chicken Sub for dinner because I was full from all of that pizza.  I cooked burger, cabbage and onion up so I can make cabbage rolls tomorrow.  I will make the dough in the morning and am also making a rhubarb pie for our camping trip.

When I got home, I saw I had a message from Bill’s sister Debbie.  They got all the cancer by doing the hysterectomy so she doesn’t need Chemo or Radiation.  I cried tears of joy, and sure was praising and thanking God.

I loaded stuff in the refrigerator and freezer in the camper and also some stuff for the cupboards.  Kimmy is coming tomorrow!  Yay!

Tues., 5/21/24, Bill had dr appt., i had planter’s wart froze at my doctor’s, did some weeding and put preen down in all of my flower beds, went to Jack’s band concert at St. Lorenz in Frankenmuth

Pictures and a video from Jack’s band concert.  He plays the French Horn.  He did such a great job and so did everyone else.

Bill got up at 7 because he had a doctor’s appointment.  I woke up and couldn’t get back to sleep, so I got up with him.  It was nice and cool out and I knew it was supposed to get up to 85 degrees, so I opened the doors and windows with screens to let the cool air in.  We still have to put in our air conditioner.  I called my skin doctor to make an appt. to get the planter’s wart on my food taken off.  I couldn’t get in until August 28.  I decided to call my family doctor to see if she could do it.  They got me right in at 11:15 today.  She said it was a deep one so froze it 3 times.  Then she did something that hurt some but I could stand it.  Then she cut the calloused skin off and that didn’t hurt at all.  I got back in 2 weeks unless it is gone by then.  It felt better right as soon as I left.  I am very thankful.

I did some more weeding by the shed, then put Preen down everywhere I have weeded.  I’m glad to have that done before more weeds start coming.  The rain sure was good for my plants.  They are growing and I even see sprouts coming up where my Hibiscus was transplanted in my new flower garden.  Yay!  The ferns I transplanted are growing lots too.

We did get our little nap in.  Then we went to Old Town Drive In and ate a coney dog and then split one too.  We had fries and Root Beers with it.  Yum!  I talked to Melissa while we were there.  They were heading to Jack’s concert and that’s where we were heading after we ate.  We got there at about the same time.  Melissa and I went and talked to Jack to find out for sure where he would be sitting in the band.  He is in the Wind Ensemble.  It was at St. Lorenz’s new Worship Auditorium.  It was so nice and the seats were really comfy.  We had great seats where we could see Jack really good.  He sat on the end which really helped.  He did a great job and we are so proud of him.  All the choirs and bands did an amazing job.  It was such an enjoyable concert.  It was called Praise to the Lord!

We came home and read our Bibles.  I am almost into the book of Ezra.  I am reading in the New Testament too.  Worked on my blog after that.

Monday, 5/20/24, Went to Boehler’s, went to Debbies, out to breakfast, to Zhenders, to Bronners, drove around Frankenmuth, back to Debbies, Home before heavy rain came, walked around outside, grilled outside, sat on deck, talked to the three girls and to Kenzie

Debbie and me at B Dubs in Frankenmuth for breakfast

Kenzie facetimed me so I could see my sweetie this morning.  I parked by Debbie’s driveway so I could talk to them.  I didn’t notice all the stripes until I looked at the picture later.  Such a cutie even with stripes from the blinds.  I’m so thankful for my FaceTime moments with Kenzie and Rehvyn
Debbie is doing good after her surgery.  She gets her results on the 22nd.  Praying for a good report.  Bill and I got her a couple of cute things for her flower beds outside.
Matthew and me...he was happy about the cookies I brought him.  He is just the sweetest nephew
Grilled steak with barbecue sauce Melissa and Bruce got us from the Maple grill.  It was delicious
Kenzie made this dangle.  She’s going to make me one!
More striped baby pictures lol
Our happy baby with no stripes
Bill and Max saw this truck on fire by the Frankenmuth Birch Run exit on I 75 on their way home.  Yikes!  I’m glad no one was killed or injured.

I got up early so I could get to Boehler’s at 8:15 a.m. and pick up something to take to Debbie.  Bill and I stopped yesterday at Bequick’s Nursery, but didn’t see anything I wanted for her.  I had seen some things I liked at Boehler’s, so knew I wanted to get her something fro there.  I found a pretty heart with blue in it.  I knew she would like it.  I also found a solar light up glass flower mushroom for her.  I left and went to her house after that.  When I got there, no one answered, so since the garage door was opened and house wasn’t locked I walked in and hollered to see if anyone was downstairs.  Tom and Matthew were and Shiraz came to greet me.  We visited for a few minutes, then Debbie came downstairs.  She liked her gifts.  She showed me the remodeling work they have had done downstairs and in the jacuzzi room.  It looks very nice.  They had the upstairs redone too.

We went to B Dubs and had a delicious breakfast and a wonderful time visiting.  I am so happy she is looking good and doing well.  We went to Zhender’s afterward and I got Tom, Matthew, Debbie, Bill and I some cookies.  They are so yummy.  We went to Bronner’s after that and Debbie ordered an anniversary ornament for Peggy and her husband.  He is ill with stomach cancer and is home on hospice.  Their 40th is coming up in June, so her Peggy wanted an ornament.  Her husband is another one we are praying for.

We went to the other end of Bronner’s, and Debbie had someone she knew come take our picture in the Christmas Wreath.  She was super nice and was happy to do it for us.  Afterwards, we drove by Bavarian Inn Lodge to see how they are coming on the 8 Million Dollar Waterpark they are adding.  There were other new buildings going up in town she showed me too.  Then we went back to her house and she showed me the upstairs remodeling job.  It looks so nice.  I visited with Matthew for a little while.  He loved his cookies and was so happy I got them for him.  Then he showed me his new Bible.  It is a big one like Bill and I have.  He ordered a case for it which was really nice.  I am going to order Bill and I each one because it would make it much easier to carry them when we go camping.  Some friends from Matthew’s church put markers on his pages for the books of the Bible.  He loves reading his Bible.  He has been sending his mom a verse a day to help her through all she’s been going through.  I am so proud of him.  I left and came home.  As I got closer, it was getting really dark out.  I was going to call Bill to put the cushions from the swings away, but thought I was too late anyhow.  I got home just in time to put them in the in the outside deck storage box.  Bill was still gone with Max.  He called and they were in Davison.  It just sprinkled there.  We got a downpour and some thunder.  Nothing severe though.  Good for my plants and good for me because I won’t have to water for a while.

I grilled sliced potatoes and steak on the grill.  Made string beans to go with it.  I put Maple Grill Barbecue sauce on my steak.  Bill likes his plain.  Everything tasted yummy.  I talked to Melissa while I ate, then Vikki called, so I hung up, then Kimmy called so I hung up, then Mykenzie called.   Kimmy and Jared were putting two swings together so they are ready when their gazebo comes.  They are going to love being able to sit under it and be comfy and also in the shade.  I’m so happy for them, because I know how much I love sitting under ours.  Jacob’s first day of work was today.  He worked hard and liked it, but was tired and went to sleep when he got home.  He worked where Hailey is working, so that was nice.

Bill took the garbage out to the road and covered the grill for me.  I put the 3 cushions I got out away because it stormed again.  Lots of loud thunder.  No high winds though.

Sunday, 5/19/24, Went to prayer/church, LA Joiner preached a good message, Went on a motorcycle ride, sat on the deck for a few hours, watered plants

Pastor L.A. Joiner preaching on Sunday
We went on a nice motorcycle ride today
Bill had a great idea...ice cream at Purtell's in Pinconning.  We both got the banana hot fudge sundae.  It was on sale for a $1 off.  It was huge and delicious
Woody waiting too get on the suet feeder
It wasn’t easy for him to get in position to eat the little bit of suet left in there, but he finally managed.  Waiting till they clean it out good before putting a new suet cake in

Read my Bible before going to church and prayed for our service today.  We went to prayer, than to the church service.  Pastor LA Joiner preached a good message on the fruitfulness of repentance.  Many went forward to the altar for repentance and then prayer afterward.  The Holy Spirit moved.  I ate the left over chicken salad I brought home yesterday.  Bill warmed the left over hotdogs up.  We decided to go for a motorcycle ride since it was so nice out.  Bill said we would leave in a half hour.  Well both of us fell asleep, so it was an hour before we actually left.  We headed to Bay City, but then Bill asked if I wanted to go to Pinconning instead for ice cream.  They have the biggest and best, so of course I said yes.   It was a nice ride there too.  We ordered the banana hot fudge sundaes and Bill ate his and helped me with  eating some of my ice cream.  I did good on eating most of it though.  Sue called me while we were riding, and told me she and Charlie were headed to the ER because he was having trouble breathing.  I had just been praying for both of them before she called.  She couldn’t hear me after a while, so I called her back when we got to the restaurant.  She didn’t answer so I left a message.  Charlie called Bill then and said they got there and didn’t go in, but headed back home.  Wes called and asked if he and Gayla could drop off some red bud tree starts of for Kimmy and I.  We had told Gayla we wanted some.  I was sitting on the back deck when Gayla brought it to the door.  Bill brought them to me.  I tried to catch Gayla to be able too say hi to Joel, but they were already out of the driveway.  I went back outside and listened to Pastor Steven Furtick from Elevation Church.  His message was so good!  Bill came out and sat with me for a while and of course Kit Kat was right by me.  I love how it’s always cool on that side of the deck.  I finally came in and got a blanket.  It was 88 when we went on our ride.  I watered a couple of sections of  flower areas around the house.

Came in to work on my blog.  Made two strawberry popsicles with the left over strawberries and then ate a bowl of them to finish them off.  They are so good.
