My pretty Hyacinths today...they smell so good

We met at Meijer at 9:30 and left for the Maple Syrup Festival at 10.  We had a good group (16) go today.  It was a beautiful day and got up to 80 degrees.  Wonderful day for a motorcycle ride.  The pancake and homemade sausage breakfast was good as always.  We had fun walking around.  It sure got warm while we looked at all the stuff the vendors had outside.  We sat for a while and got to know a little about Devin.  It was his first time riding with us, and also Brad and Jenny's.  He talked a lot about reading his Bible, taking care of his 10 year old sister since his mom died, and witnessing for Jesus.  We left at 2:00.  On our way home, Devin, Jenny and Brad were behind us.  Bill noticed Devin wasn't behind us, so we turned around to see what happened.  He was parked and Brad was with him.  He was feeling dizzy and anxious. We prayed for him, he took his medication, and after about 5 minutes said he would be able to make it home.  I looked up and right where we had parked to pray for him was a mailbox with Jesus is Savior on it.  That made me smile.  We got going for just a little ways and he wasn't feeling like it was safe for him to drive so we stopped.  We told him we knew the people in the house we had passed back a quarter of a mile, so we would take him there.  We knocked on the door and Jan answered the door and gave us a very warm welcome and got Bob to come out and see us too.  We explained the situation and they got waters and pops for us, offered us food, offered to let them park his bike in their shed, and said they could take his truck home and just bring it back when he came to pick up the bikes.  They had never even met them before, but showed the love of Jesus in an amazing way.  Then Wes called to see how things were going, and offered to bring his truck and trailer over and take Devin and his bike home. We sat visiting on the deck for over an hour and then Wes came.  He got the bike loaded and took him home.  Bill and I headed home because Jack and Evan were coming to visit us, while Melissa and Bruce went for Hailey's Prom pictures.  We got Culver's burgers and concrete mixers to eat for dinner.  That's what the boys picked.  They shot their bow and arrows and have sure improved.  They gave Kit Kat lots of attention too.  Bruce, Melissa and Max visited for a while when they got back and Melissa showed me the pictures they took of Hailey.  Hailey looked so beautiful in her gorgeous dress!  She sent me pictures when she was at her prom which was sweet.  Melissa sent me the pictures she took too.  I can't believe my Hailey girl is graduating from high school already.  What a blessing she is and she's so much fun too!
Texted with Adam.  Talked to Vikki, Kimmy, Kenzie and Melissa.

Fri. 4/22/22, Met Maddy for breakfast, Bill worked on emptying water out of cistern, pulled weeds, made chicken noodle soup

Adam sent me this picture.  They are looking good!  Maverick City Music is my favorite worship group

Kimmy sent me these cute pictures of Adam and Jacob in their new Maverick City Music shirts!  So cool and love the colors!  They are really handsome grandsons too!

Hyacinths are almost ready to open.  Probably tomorrow when it's 80 degrees
Daffodils are opening

Got up early, got ready, then went to meet Maddy at I Hop for breakfast.  I got the senior Breakfast Sampler and it was delicious.  We had a great visit over breakfast.
When I got home, I did my Bible reading.  Walked outside and looked things over.  Changes in plants every day now. It was nice still day which was great after yesterday's wind.  I put Easter baskets and stuff away til next year.

Sue called me and she has to have her heart shocked to get it back into rhythm.  Charlie has a tooth infection and will need a root canal.  They have lots going on right now.  I made chicken noodle soup with homemade Amish noodles. I invited Charlie to come eat with us, but his mouth is too sore.  Praying for both of these dear friends.

I caught up on my blogs, did some reading, and walked more outside and pulled weeds.
It's nice having them pull out easy because of the ground being wet yet.  I also planted some Zinnias today so they have a head start when I plant them outside.

I texted with Adam, Kimmy, Hailey.  Talked with Vikki and Melissa.  Vikki still is having sinus issues so I am praying for her too!  Melissa is getting lots of plans going for Hailey's graduation party.  It's going to be so nice.

Thurs., 4/21/22, 63 but very windy out, Went to Campers World in Birch Run, Spent time walking around looking at plants outside, found an Easter Egg that was missed

My chives are doing great already
Went to hang my birdhouse Kenzie made me in it's usual spot and found a big nest in the branch it goes on.

Decided to walk through the new garden on the stepping stones.  It's starting to dry up so I will be able to do some hoeing soon, then planting will be next
I found a missed Easter egg in the center of the bush by the stepping stones and got a quarter! Yay! Guess adults like Easter egg hunts too!

Did our Bible reading, prayer and devotions, then went to Tim Hortons and I got an Ice Capp and Bill got a black coffee.  We went to Birch Run to get a camper switch and walked around Camping World.  It was fun looking at everything and going through a few campers.
We stopped at Old Town Drive In on the way home.  They have the best coneys there.  James and his mom were getting there when we were.  They talked to us for a few minutes, then they ate inside.  We had already got our order for outside.

I wanted to do some outside work, but with the awful wind, it was too cold for me to want to stay out there long.  I pulled a few weeds, but that was it.  Nice to see the plants poking through.  Kit Kat followed me around.  I was happy when I found a missed Easter egg.
They don't miss many, that's for sure.  I'm still looking though.

I talked to Melissa.  She had found some pictures on her blog of my dad and Hailey, but couldn't print them from her blog.  I went through her blog and also my pictures and found some and sent them to her.  They are for Hailey's graduation party.  I did get side tracked reading Melissa's blog and watching and listening to videos on there of all the kids when they were little.

Wed., 4/20/22, Filled bird feeders, put some more deck things out, pulled some weeds, cleaned the kernel burner, went to Midland with Vikki

Got this Orange Cream Soda at the Amish store and it is the best
Messy job that is good to have done
Peyton and Isaac.  Found the decorative hanging over the door at  Salvation Army today.

Bill went with Charlie for coffee.  I made oatmeal and coffee.  While I ate breakfast, I noticed the bird feeders were low and there were lots of birds wanting food.  I filled all of the feeders, then hung a bird house Kenzie made me when she was in shop class, put some outside things on the deck, and put the rain gauge outside.  I played some worship music, then read my Bible and did my devotion.  Sent Debbie a scripture message.  Her appointment in Lansing is today.  I am praying they can help give her answers and get her  back to feeling good. Bill went to pick up Max and take him to Culver's to eat lunch.  I talked to Melissa for a while.  She said Bill wants to bring the puzzle that was so hard home for us to do.

I started cleaning the kernel burner and just after I got started, Vicki B. called me to see if I could pick Iain up from school at noon.  I worked for a half hour, then left to go get Iain.  He was happy to see me.  He talked lots on the way to his house.  I sure enjoyed getting to spend some time with him.

I came home and started working on the kernel burner again.  I got it taken apart and cleaned, and was putting it back together when Vikki called to see if I wanted to go to Costco with her to get gas.  I did, so changed again and went with her to Costco, Salvation Army, Goodwill and then to get hot fudge brownie cakes at Big Boy.  Yum!  Vikki and I each got some nice tongs, I got a decorative wall hanging, and Vikki found some great tennis shoes for Peyton for $5.  They are selling the same shoes on Amazon for $145.00.
I found a nice purse too.  We got home just as Bill was going to the Marine Corp. League.
Vikki and I hung the decorative hanging I found over the door on the front of the house.
I took a picture of the kids because we forgot to when we were having our hot fudge ice cream cake, then they left for home.

I put my old clothes back on and finished working on the kernel burner.  Got it all back together. Cleaned up and washed everything, then washed up myself, and washed my old clothes.

I sat down to relax and watch a movie.  Bill got home about 15 minutes after the movie started, so I started it over for him to watch with me.

Tues., 4/19/22, Went to take my ring in to be fixed, went to Tony's for breakfast, went to Clare

We dropped off my wedding ring to be fixed and have a diamond replaced.  Bill had his cleaned and polished.  What a difference!  I was so shiny when I looked at him driving.
I love driving in Amish country
Can't drive by Cops and Donuts without visiting

Coffee and Donuts Yum!
Evan and Melissa finished that hard puzzle today

We got ready and went to the jewelry store next to Tony's to leave my wedding ring to be fixed.  We went next door and had breakfast at Tony's afterwards.  Sherry saw us and came to talk with us.  Her grandson, Cole was sitting in the booth behind us.  He is in high school and is in duel enrollment and will have 3 years of college finished when he is through.  So nice they have this program for kids.  I had him in my K-1 Sunday school class. Wow time flies by.

We headed to Clare to go for a drive and visit 4 Amish stores in the area.  We went to the hardware store (that was for Bill), to the Country Outdoor Furniture Store, to Yoder's Kuntry Market, and to the huge Country Store.  How fun to walk through and look at everything.  We sure picked a day when it wasn't busy.  Probably because it was cool and there were wind warnings.  On our way home, we went through Clare and, of course, stopped at Cops and Donuts.  We each had a large coffee and donut, and also brought a donut home to eat tomorrow.  Bill filled my car with gas in Midland where it is cheaper on the way home.  It was such a fun day.  No cooking tonight, because we are still eating yummy left overs.

Adam texted me to let me know he finished his first drive in driver's training.  He said it went pretty good.  It's hard to believe he is old enough to start that already.  Grandkids sure grow up fast!

The soldiers sponsored kids in  the orphanage so they could attend school

Bill went to coffee with Charlie.  Kimmy, Vikki, Peyton and Isaac came over this morning to hang out.  Kimmy brought her slide projector and screen so we could watch our old slides. Kimmy and I ate oatmeal for breakfast.  No one else was hungry.   After we ate, we went up in the attic and found the slides right away.  Bill got home and we all watched the slides he took in Vietnam first.  He took lots of pictures including some of the Bob Hope Show.  We were happy he had pictures of him too.  We sure enjoyed seeing them.  Next Kimmy put in the family slides we had.  We don't have many, but it sure was fun watching them and they brought back lots of memories.  Kimmy took pictures of them so we could have them.

We ate leftovers from yesterday for our lunch.  We sat and visited, and then it was time for Kimmy to go pick up Adam from school.  Vikki and the kids left too.  The day sure flew by with watching the slides.  Bill and I read our Bibles and our devotions.  Then we both took naps.  It was such a dreary day out that it was a good day for that.
