Friday, 12/26/25, Icy sleety morning, lots of accidents out there, big pile up on the Zilwaukee bridge, Kimmy and Jared are waiting to leave for Indiana, our left over day is post poned til tomorrow, good day to stay indoors

Kimmy sent me these pictures in the morning.  It was worse at their house.  It started there first.

This is an amazing picture too, but Jared fell and hurt his knuckles when he took it.

These are my ice pictures

I love my slippers!  Ha ha, I was showing Vikki my top she gave me and telling her how nice her shower cap works.  Then I just had to get my pretty and comfy slippers in the picture so ended up in the shower!

I had two small hooks that were really hard to put dish towels on under the sink.  Today I used my rechargeable drill to take the screws out and the top board off.  then I had to paint it.  Tomorrow I will hang my round hoop towel hanger that Vikki and family got me for Christmas.  It sure will make things easier.

I used Kenzie’s green egg mold this morning and made scrambled eggs with potatoes for Bill and the same for me only I added cheese to mine.

 It was really icy in the morning, with Midland getting it worse than us.  I talked to Kimmy and they were waiting to leave for Indiana til the roads were good.  I was happy to hear that.  There was a pile up on the Zilwaukee Bridge this morning and many accidents all over.  It’s a good day to stay in and not go outside.  

Our Christmas leftover day was cancelled because of the roads.  I was able to get some Christmas things upstairs put away and some laundry done.  Bill went to Spectrum later on in the day when the roads were better to see why they raised our bill and see if they would lower it.  It is just for the internet.  

I did my exercises while he was gone.  The hard ones get easier every time.  I sat in the family room for a while and watched the birds.  We sure have a lot of them right now.  

Kimmy called to let me know they were leaving in the evening to go to Indiana because the temps were a little above freezing and the roads were good and would only be better the farther south they traveled with the temperatures rising.  I’m glad they waited and I prayed they would have safe travels.  Kimmy texted me when they were bout 45 minutes away and said she was really scared.  They were having problems with the van and they thought it was the suspension.  They ended up getting on the back roads and traveling slowly to get there.  I was so happy to hear they had made it.   

Thursday, 12/25/25, Christmas Day! Happy Birthday Jesus! We went for breakfast to Bruce and Melissa’s, then we went to Vikki’s, then to Kimmy’s.

The table was set beautifully.  The bowls Kimmy made for Bruce’s mom to give Bruce and Melissa for Christmas the past few years looked beautiful and were so nice.

Cheese toy Hailey got for Bill.  You can stretch it and make a hat.  When you sit it down, it goes back into a square like it came.  Good hand therapy squeezing it too.  I had fun with it.  Of course Bill was so happy with a cheese toy.  Good job Hailey!

We went to Bruce and Melissa’s at 10 a.m.  We had homemade cinnamon rolls that were delicious.  We sat in the living room and everyone opened their gifts.  Everyone got such nice things and lots of love and thought went into the gifts you could tell.  Papa got a cheese toy that he will love for a long time.  Thanks Hailey.  He turned it into a hat tonight and had it on his head.  I FaceTimed Melissa and Hailey to show them.

We all ate after the gifts were opened.  Bruce had made everything you could think of for breakfast....pancakes, eggs, fresh fruit, fried potatoes, corned beef hash, bacon, sausage, and cheesy potatoes.  This has been our tradition on Christmas for quite a few years now.  We sure look forward to it and sure appreciate Bruce and Melissa going to so much work making everything for us.  Everything was super delicious.  We cleared the table and Bruce got the kitchen cleaned up, then we sat and visited longer.  

We had to leave to go to Vikki’s next.  Vikki had an electric throw turned on and ready for me when I got there.  I was so sleepy, I fell asleep in her chair.  Peyton and Isaac showed me what they got for Christmas and Isaac played the electric guitar and Peyton played the ukulele.  They sounded good.  We stayed there until they had to get ready to go to Rody’s family Christmas at his aunt Ann’s.  Please keep Aunt Ann in prayer.  She has cancer again and has to have radiation.

We had to leave to go to Kimmy and Jared’s next.  I was happy I could go up their deck steps the right way.  We had fun visiting and drinking coffee.  Then Jared, Kimmy, Bill and I decided to play Euchre to help Kimmy learn better.  We sure had fun.  Kimmy was getting it down real good at the end.  We wanted to play another game, but Jacob told us the Lion’s were playing, so we stopped and watched the game. Kimmy made us lots of popcorn to eat during the game. They started out good and went down hill from there[ and ended up losing.  We took a picture with the boys in front of the tree, then we left to come home.  I had a turkey sandwich when I got home, and Bill had some white meat.  We went to bed after that.  They are saying the roads are going to be very icy and we will get sleet and snow from 5 am til 4 p.m. Friday.  Kimmy and Jared are watching the weather to see if they should wait to leave for Indiana.  I am praying for them to get there safely when they go.

Bill took these pictures of me today.  He sent them to the girls.  He’s so funny.  He will be glad when I am sleeping better too.
