Fun morning swim

She told me I should check the picture.  I didn’t til I got back to the camper. Guess she was right!!

Vikki surprised me and brought her favorite bird feeder.  It is so neat, I went and bought one for home!  It’s going to be my favorite too!

We got up earlier today.  We ate breakfast, then the kids went to the store.  When they got back, we went for a swim while Vikki napped in the hammock.  We swam for about an hour, then came back, and I read my Bible while the kids went to the clubhouse, and then to the old playground.  We all ate lunch, then the kids went on another bike ride.
Went for a couple walks in the campground.  Enjoyed relaxing at the campground. Laid in our hammocks and got some good rest.
Peyton, Isaac and I went to the store, then picked up pizza from Fergie’s.
A friend of Peyton’s stopped over and Peyton showed her her real life looking doll baby.  Natalie liked it, so they got on their bikes and Peyton took her doll along.  I love that she’s like Hailey and still loves dolls.
Peyton started the fire tonight and did a great job, even though it took a little long to get it going.  We sat by the fire , then came in and the kids and I played 3-13.  We have to finish tomorrow as we stopped at 11 p.m. at the Queen round.  I am in the lead at -20.  We will see what happens tomorrow.

Peyton won our game of 3-13 although Vikki trumped it with her 313 points

We slept in because we stayed up so late last night.  We made eggs, sausage and toast for breakfast.  After breakfast, we went to Northwoods to return Vikki’s knife she got yesterday.  She thought it broke, but it was actually a safety feature.  She kept the knife and was happy with it again.  When we got back, we went to the outdoor pool to swim and go in the hot tub.  Got some good exercise.  Came back and relaxed outside.  Air quality warning today because of the wildfires in Canada.  We ate hot dogs and potatoes cooked on the grill for dinner.  We went for a walk and Isaac rode his bike.  When we got back, Isaac started our campfire.  We sat around it and when it burned down enough, we made s’mores.  Then we came in and played 3-13.

We went to prayer,,then to the church service.  After church we went through a car wash, then went home and ate goulash.  I packed up my stuff to take up north and went to pick Peyton up to go with me.  We loaded her and Isaacs bikes on my carrier and then left.  We unloaded the car and got everything in the camper. Then we went to the store and looked around. Right after that, we had a downpour.  We were thankful to be dry but we’re so thankful for the much needed rain.  We decided when it let up to go swimming at the indoor pool.  It was pretty packed.  We had the hot tub to ourselves.  After we got out, we went to the outdoor pool.  We stayed in a while and went in the hot tub, then it thundered and the worker had us get out.  We made it back to the camper before the next downpour. We played 3-13,  tonk and then watched the movie, Love Come Softly!

Saturday, 6/24/23, Jacobs graduation party day !

Vikki’s goulash

Beautiful salads Kimmy and Vikki made

Bill and I came home at 8:30 in the morning so I could make 5 batches of goulash.  I got everything I needed to take to the party ready and Bill got all of our chairs loaded and the volleyball net loaded.  We had light rain the day before and heavy rain the day after, but today’s weather was nice.  It was nice in the shade of the pavilion with a light breeze blowing. Everything looked amazing! Kimmy and Vikki did an outstanding job!  Their chocolate chip cookies were so yummy!  Kimmy did an amazing job making and decorating all those cupcakes too and making those delicious rolls.  Kimmy, Vikki, Melissa and Bruce, and I all made lots of goulash and it all was so delicious!  Kenzie helped with a lot too! Everything was sure wonderful! Jacob did great had greeting and talking with his friends, family and all who came!  He sure is a nice young man. God has great things planned for him!  Good friends, Charlie and Sue were the first ones to come.  They stayed almost to the end.

We  got to meet Marcia and Dennis who we felt like we knew from talking on Facebook.  They are close friends of Jared’s family and have camped with them for many years in Copper Harbor.  We hugged each other and then talked to them for a long time.  My sister Brenda and her husband Dave surprised us and came down from Ellsworth.  She kept it a sect that they were coming so when we saw them come we were all so happy.  Vikki and I were crying tears of joy when we went out to greet them and then Brenda tested up too. What an awesome surprise.  I was so happy she could meet Stacie, DJ and Kody.  The older kids and the youth pastor from Jacobs church had fun playing games outside.  Bill and Peyton played ladder ball. Jacobs friends that came were so nice. We were happy when Debbie and Matthew got there too, and then Wes, Gayla and Joel.  We sent lots of food home with them. We missed Jared’s parents.  They wanted to be there but Lela had surgery right before so it didn’t work out for them.  I know how much they love Jacob and that their hearts were there!

It was nice to be able to relax when we got home.  Jacob called us and thanked us for helping and for his card and money.
