9/30/16...Took Joel out to Pizza Hut to celebrate his summer birthday we missed

We had a fun time with Joel celebrating his 46th Birthday!
Canned pears in the morning.  Happy to have that done.  Have been loving eating fresh pears that Wes and Gayla gave us from their tree.  Went to Vikki's to take garage sale stuff Kimmy had given me to give her and some stuff I had for her.  Melissa was there so we all had a nice visit.
Went to Meijer's and got the dvd God's Not Dead 2  for Joel's gift.  Wes and Gayla picked us up at 5  and we went and got Joel.  We went to Pizza Hut (Joel loves pizza) and had good pizza and lots of fun.  After we dropped Joel off, we came back to our house and played 3-13 with Wes and Gayla.  Bill won both games.  Last time I won both games.  We need to start letting our company win some.  We had lots of laughs.

10/2/16...Went to church and then out to eat afterward, Planted a Knockout Rosebush, Went to care group,

Planted a Knockout Rosebush today
Beautiful picture Vikki took at the park with Peyton and Isaac in it

Rody took these amazing pictures at a nearby park today!

Stephanie's son, Alec,  sure reminds me of his cousin, Jacob, in this picture!

Pastor preached a really good message on Parenting today.  After church, we went to Applebee's with Vikki, Rody, Peyton and Isaac. We had such a nice time.  Saw Chuck and Jackie Wade there and talked to them for a while.  Came home and planted my rosebush.  Brought in all the stepping stones and lawn ornaments.  They are supposed to start our roof at 9:30 in the morning so we are getting ready for them.  Prayed for our care group and went over the lesson some more.  We went to church for it and had a great discussion about the lesson after worshipping and watching the video.  There were 12 of us there tonight.

10/1/16...Went to Adam's soccer game. Loved seeing Adam play! Picked up Evan after I got home.

Adam playing with his soccer team
He's going after the ball at top speed!

Nana and Adam after the game!

Evan

After all Evan's hard work, we went to McDonald's so he could play and have fun!

This picture of Evan is blurry, but it was so cute of him I decided to post it anyway

Hailey texted me and sent me these pictures of Max and the fort they made with the flexible fort makers.

Took this picture of Max when I dropped Evan off

Got ready in the morning and gathered my lawn chair, blanket, umbrella and headed for Adam's soccer game.  Our motorcycle ride to St. John's was cancelled because of rain so I was excited to get to go to see Adam play.  Eli and Jacob were excited to see me when I got there.  I got some really big hugs.  The soccer game had just started when I got there.  Adam's  coach had lots of nice compliments for Adam.  He said it was the most aggressive he has seen him play.  He played a very good game!  Loved seeing him and cheering him on.  After saying our goodbyes, I went to Home Depot.  Got a beautiful bright red Knock Out Rose Bush.  Came home and Kenzie stopped over for a while.  She had a bowl of my homemade veggie soup. She asked to take a bowl home with her too.
We had a nice visit.  We were so happy because I made her an appointment over a month ago to see a dermatologist because she had two big planter's warts on her fingers and another one coming under her fingernail.  Couldn't get her in until Dec 15th.  Now we can cancel the appt. because you can't even tell she ever had them.  We sure were thanking God for that.  After she left, I went to pick up Evan.  I brought him to my house and we practiced numbers.  He is a super good reader, but is having some problems with numbers in the teens and also writing some of his numbers.  I thought I could make practicing with Nana fun for him.  He did really good and he sure liked the candy corn I gave him.  They sure have kindergarteners do a lot of work at the Christian School.  Would sure like it better if they didn't push kids so hard and let them get to love school that first important year.
We went outside so he could spend time jumping on the trampoline.  Came back in and worked some more with flash cards.  He never complained and sat there for the longest time.  I'm sure the candy corn helped!  We went to McDonald's on our way home so he could play.  He played for a little while, but there were some really wild big kids playing who were bouncing on the netting over the little trampoline and were crawling all over the outside of everything.  The mom was yelling from her booth really loud, but never really did anything.  I decided not to stay very long after that.

Jack wanted to play Indiana Jones after he got his schoolwork done

Norman was having a good day. I was happy when Kimmy sent me this cute picture of him!

Kimmy came over in the morning.  We drank our coffee and visited.  She hurt her knee yesterday, so I prayed for her.   We just hung out at my house.  Melissa came over after Kimmy got here.  Always so nice to get together.  We missed Vikki as she was sick and couldn't come.  Boo Hoo!!! We ate Vegetable Soup for lunch   Kimmy groomed Mocha for me and did such a good job. Thank you so much Kimmy.  She looks great.  I appreciate you so much.  Bill went to pick up water for our water cooler.  He found a snowblower attachment for our John Deere tractor and also a nice cover while he snow blows.  Kimmy and I helped him get the mover box Wes gave him, off the trailer so be could pick the other stuff up.  We were a little nervous because it was so big, but Bill put some wheels under it and everything went well.  I went and got Jack and took him to McDonald's to eat and play.  We had fun together.  He was so sweet and cute.  We ate, then he played and then we got hot fudge sundaes.  Jack wanted me to have the one with the most hot fudge because he thought that would make me happy. What a sweetie!  We went to my house afterwards we kicked the soccer ball around.  He is pretty good at it.  We went inside and he did his homework.  He learned his scripture memorization really quick.  It was Acts 2:38.  When Papa got home we went out to see him and see what he got.  Looks really nice and sure will help him this winter.  Jack drove the cart all over and had fun going fast.  After that, I cooked up some squash while he played Indiana Jones.  Sat and watched him play,  and he is getting really good at it now.  He picked out his pumpkin while he was here.  Took Hailey and Max's pumpkins to them too.  Sure was a good year for pumpkins this year.  Melissa was watching her neighbor, Amy's four kids.  The baby has gotten so big and is a toddler now.  She was so cute.  Melissa is so good with kids and has such a love for them.

9/28/16...Kimmy to the Rescue....thanks Kimmy

Made strawberry freezer jam today!

Turkeys strolling through by the garden behind the shed.  Only got the last two.  They were nice ones.  Turkey fever!  I thought of my dad and how excited he was when he saw turkeys!  He would call me and tell me about it.  Sure do miss him.

Bill, Eli, Adam and Jacob.  The boys were really interested in the television Bill was trying to fix and had the back off.  Almost looks like a sheep in the front of the picture.  We put that on our motorcycle seat when it's cold out.

Eli looking so cute.  He had a doctor appt. today

Adam relaxing on the trampoline

Cutie Adam!

Adam jumping

Cutie Jacob reading his book

Aam, Jacob, and Eli getting ready to go home.

Went to Sportszone and walked 3 miles.   Bill was playing cards by the time I got there.  He and Charlie were pretty happy they were winning.  Pastor Schultz was there walking so I talked to him for a while.  Went to Pat's to get probiotic yogurt to take with the antibiotic I am taking for the root canal I am having done on Monday.  Came home and got jars washed for making jam.
Got the strawberries ready and started making the jam.  Kimmy called and asked if I was going to be home so her and the boys could come over.  I was excited and told her yes and to come.  I finished the batch of jam I was making and got it into jars.  Started another batch and when Kimmy got there she offered to help me.  Well help me she did.  I realized I had used 4 cups of strawberries instead of 2 like I was supposed to.  Jacob and I ran to the store to get 2 more boxes of sure jell.  I decided to get more sugar while I was there.  Wasn't going to but changed my mind.  Got back to the house and Kimmy mentioned if I needed more sure jell than I needed more sugar.  Was I ever glad I had picked it up.  We emptied the jars already filled and added the sugar and sure jell to it and then redid both batches.  Looks like it turned out really good!  THANK YOU KIMMY!  Kimmy cut the hair on Mocha's face.  She looks so cute now.  Thanks Kimmy.  The boys sure like seeing the TV Bill was working on.  They thought it was neat to see the inside of it.   Bill mowed the grass.  The yard looks great now!  Vikki was still sick today with a cold.  Praying for her.  I taught my class at church.  Nice to have Peyton and Isaac there.  Missed Evan tonight!

9/27/16....Busy and fun day

Picked Kale and put it in the dehydrator

Squash baking in the oven

Made vegetable soup

Cut up Kalarabi

Went to Hailey's volleyball game

Hailey is a great server

Bill and Hailey after her game

Went to our breakfast and then stopped at Melissa's afterward for a little visit.  Her carpet looked amazing after she shampooed it.  After I left there I went and visited my friend Lila who is 97.
She moved into a new assisted living place which is beautiful.  She was hard of hearing so I had to talk into her good ear for her to hear me.  She was so sweet.  I prayed with her before I left!
Isaac called me and told me he had a Tomato drill at school.  Had to laugh.  Of course Peyton corrected him and told him it was a Tornado drill.  Such cute kiddos.  Went to Meijer's for some groceries and then came home and picked kale and dehydrated it, made veggie soup, cooked yummy squash, cut up kalarabi.  So thankful for garden stuff.  Bill and I went to Hailey's volleyball game.
Bruce was their so we sat with him.  Celeste wasn't playing, so she came to sit by me.  After the game, I went and got my hug from Hailey and gave her a couple of dollars for a treat!  It's tradition!
After that, we headed to Mt. Morris to go to a CMA chapter meeting at Good News Riders.

9/26/16...picked the rest of the garden, sorted pears to can and worked on the newsletter for Faith Riders

Vikki sent me this cute picture of Peyton and Isaac at their desks.  Vikki just found the desk for Isaac today

She also sent me this picture of Melissa and Lenny.  Lenny had been sitting right on Melissa's lap in a sitting position
Bill went to the sports zone, then took Stacie's dad to the VA to help him with things.  I sorted pairs and started canning the few that were ripe.  I only got one jar after getting everything ready and that jar broke in the canner.  Big waste of time.  First time I ever had that happen.  Lesson learned is not to can them unless I have more to put in the canner.  I picked all the squash in the garden.  Got lots so will begin cooking that and putting it in the freezer.  Love squash!  Picked some kale to dehydrate and also picked some tomatoes and green peppers.  Garden is done now!  Going to be watching the debate later.
