4/18/08

Well finally I am putting blogging. I guess I am kind of a once a month blogger right now. Hailey had her first visit to the dentist and it went very well. She was a big girl and sat in the dentist's chair all by herself. The only thing she didn't want done was X-rays and I don't blame her for that I guess. I took some cute pictures when she got to my house with her new toothbrush and toothpaste and her awesome big smile.
I thought the pictures of Hailey and Mykenzie were pretty cute (oh Mocha too!) and the one of Max smiling is expecially cute. I love the pictures of Jacob and Adam with great grandpa Max. They were so good letting grandpa hold them and stayed that way while I took pictures and videos both. Thanks boys! Precious memories with grandpa being 91 and little Adam almost 1. Of course Jacob will be a big 3 yr. old soon. Today, Vikki, Mykenzie, Kimmy, Jacob, Adam, Izzy (Vikki's dog) and I all had fun at the park. Kenzie wanted to fish of course and she gave lessons to cousin Jacob. It was fun being together in such a beautiful place with such beautiful weather. I took bubbles for the boys but it was a little too breezy. Got home and Kimmy and Jared were a blessing and took Grandpa his dinner. I met Bill and we went to Sanford. He had just done a funeral and wanted me to go the the dinner with him.
We got home and got there just in time to catch Melissa before she left with Hailey and Max. She had taken Hailey to dance class. Vikki went with her to watch Max for her while she took Hailey in the classroom. We all ended up going to get a Concrete mixer...yum yum yum. We were wishing Kimmy and Jared were closer so they could come, but we only had a short time before the movie Bill and I wanted to go to started. We went to see Expelled. I think everyone should see it. Sure makes me want to pray harder for our nation. It was a busy but wonderful day. I forgot to mention the ice cream dessert last week with Kimmy, Jared, Vikki, Rody and families.
Notice the picture of Bill and I with our hands on our chins. It was unplanned. I can't remember who captured that moment but thank you very much. Ha Ha

Went to grandpas and then to church. Taught Sunday School and the kids were so wonderful. After church we came home, ate, changed, then decided to take a motorcycle ride. We ended up in at the shopping outlet and got some great deals.
The weather was beautiful and I didn't get cold even on the expressway. Wonderful time riding together. We also stopped at the ice cream shop for a delicious waffle cone. Yummy!!!! When we got home, Vikki, Misty and Kenzie came over. We played volleyball and had lots of fun and lots of laughs. Good thing Kenzie has tons of energy. She went and chased most of the far out balls and brought them to us. Vikki had her two dogs here and Misty had her one dog. They were all well behaved and stayed in the yard. I was glad to get all the exercise after the ice cream.
Very fun, relaxing day.

Today, Bill had a funeral to do up north. It was a beautiful day for a ride so I went with him. He did a wonderful job on the funeral and many hearts were touched. It was a very nice family and they all just think the world of dad. We stopped at Salvation Army on the way and picked up outfits for a 50's-60's birthday party we were going to later.
Got home and stopped at grandpas to change, then off to the party we went. It was so much fun. They had it decorated so nice and had great food...scrambled hamburgers, hot dogs, rootbeer floats..etc. They had a dj playing oldies which was fun. It was also neat to see how everyone was dressed. Lots of poodle skirts. I had made poodle skirts for the kids when they were in school for a 50's party and also got some oxford shoes. Well the shoes fit but forget the poodle skirt. I couldn't squeeze into that for nothing. Anyway the evening brought back many memories. Dad found a shirt with old cars on it. He looked cute in it. They had bubble gum blowing contests, hula hoop contests, best dressed contests, ect. I thought the little girls outfit was so cute. I wish it wasn't so dark.

Notice the picture of Kenzie with the wedding dress she used to practically live in.
It is so small compared to her now. She loved dancing in it when she was little.

Cute picture of Hailey in her dance costume huh? I love the one where you can't see her face. Where did she go?

The boys were enjoying their suckers on the couch, just being little angels.
Adam loved the piano and Hailey loved giving him lessons on it.

Have been enjoying having Vikki over. Nice to be able to spend lots of time with her. I will miss you now Vik. We enjoyed our visit to Kimmy & Jared's to see the chickens, horses, etc. Fun place to go for sure. Loved our walk through the mall too Kimmy, Jared and boys. We're so glad you met us there.
I have enjoyed seeing lots of Melissa, Hailey and Max when they do the laundry here too. This has been an enjoyable week with most of my loved ones around alot.

Grandpa had his ulcerated sore removed from his lip this morning. He did great and even wanted to go look for honey rock cantelope seeds afterward. So far he hasn't even needed pain medication for it so he's really happy about that. We also went to the store as he wanted to get some soup to eat. Bill stopped in at lunch time to see him and then took me to lunch at Subway. Aunt Jody called to see how he was doing while we were there.
Went to get Kenzie from school and then back to grandpa's. The therapist called him to see if he felt like doing therapy and he did so she was there shortly after we got there. Came home and some friends stopped over to show us their new Cadillac.
It was luxurious. Heated front and rear seats plus heated stearing wheel. Many other wonderful features too. I still like my Honda better though especially with gas prices like they are. They brought their dog (a big Rotweiller) with them. She was such a sweet, friendly dog. She didn't want to move over in the back seat so I could get in so I squeezed in with her where she was. She gave dad a big lick on the back of his neck. You can imagine how much he liked that. We ate and now Kenzie is taking a big bubble bath with the Conair Water Jet sprayer that Vikki got for me a few years ago. Still love it Vikki. You pick out very nice gifts by the way. It is such a wonderful way to relax. Kenzie is going to give me a foot massage tonight. I didn't know until Vikki had her give me one yesterday, how very relaxing it is. She said she would give me a back rub too. I will be spoiled soon I think. The one picture is of Kenzie sweeping the garage. She is trying to earn money to buy something she wants.

Went to grandpa's this morning and he was feeling great, which I am really happy about. After that, I was off to church. Had fun teaching Sunday School. We came home, ate lunch, and then Vikki, Rody and Kenzie came for a visit. They brought us great chicken salad sandwiches and chocolate cake. Vikki's loves them and has been wanting us to try them. They were delicious. Thanks you very much you guys! Very nice of you. After they left we were off to visit our friend Maynard down the road. Enjoyed out visit. Left and headed to the store, then to get a Concrete Mixer. Soooooo delicious.... Came home and started sorting pictures and looking for one I ran off the other day. Can't seem to find where I got it from, but I searched for an hour so am giving up for now. I wanted to put it on the blog as it was of all the girls and the grandchildrenon the couch. Anyway, no pictures for todays blog. This is short but sweet.
