Our new grandson has arrived!!! 7/15/08

Our new grandson, Jack William, arrived today. He is beautiful and entered the world with a strong healthy cry. He was born at 4:39pm. He weighed 7 lbs. and is 19 inches long. I love seeing the birth of my grandchildren and am so happy the girls let me be there for all of them. It is so touching to see God's miracle creations. Melissa is doing fine and smiling lots of course. Bruce too. He was a great coach. I left the hospital a while after he was born so that I could go watch the other 5 grandchildren and Kimmy and Vikki could go up to see their new nephew. When they came back to Melissa's we got Hailey and Max ready to go see their baby brother. They each took up gifts their mommy and daddy had gotten for them to give the baby.
They were absolutely adorable with their new brother. Such sweet kids. I got great videos of course.

I stopped at grandpa's this morning. He hadn't got his paper yet which is unusual. When I walked in the door I could see why. He was reading up on his new walkie talkies. They have a turkey call on them so that's what he wanted to have before he goes turkey hunting in the fall. I left for church and dad met me there. I taught Sunday School. The kids were so wonderful. Great class. A couple from church invited us out to lunch so we went and had a wonderful visit. Afterward, Bill picked up Mykenzie on the motorcycle and took her to Maynard's grandaughter's graduation party at his house. I went in the car, but had to get a card first so they beat me there. More good food and fellowship. After we left there we went and got a new digital camera. Glad to have it before my new grandson arrives. Now I will have a camera I can count on. Kenzie was happy to get my old one though. Kenzie worked on decorating her butterfly and netting. She made it look so beautiful. We have to get more glitterpaint and beads before she can finish it. Let me know how the pictures come through girls. Vikki and Rody came over and we had lots of laughs and fun taking pictures.

Kenzie making her butterfly net for in her room.

Dad didn't want his picture taken.

7/11/08

Today I headed to grandpa's to clean his house and stopped at a couple good garage sales on the way. Found a cute battery charged car and got it for $5. Unbelievable as it is in great ship. It's a cute girl car so Hailey will like it and Kimmy's upcoming twin girls....Found a Fisher Price Barn (the big one) and also a Little one for Kelly's shower. Great buys. I finally made it over to grandpa's and started cleaning. I took a break to bake dog treats for Taylor and when I looked out the window, there was a doe and two fawns standing back on the end of grandpa's property. So beautiful. He had told me about them and how cute the fawn's play together. He was outside washing the birdbath and hadn't noticed them. I wanted to let him know (the doe was just staring at him), so I snuck out the front door and went to where grandpa was. The doe must have spotted me as she was no longer there.
I cleaned some more, than dad called to say he was getting gas for $3.93. Grandpa and I headed there and I filled my car and he filled his gas cans. Got back
to grandpa's and dropped him off. Met Michelle from church for lunch at Applebee's.
Great lunch and company. Pastor's wife, Sherry, was there with Karen, and also Barb Rosteutcher with her husband and aunt. Went back to grandpa's and finished cleaning the house. There were a lot of spots on the carpet, so I decided to shampoo it.
Grandpa was so happy to have clean carpet. He smiled and offered to take me out to eat. Dad was already taking me to Applebees. We had to meet a couple he is marrying at Tim Horton's so decided to eat before we met them. We stopped and got some M & M's and took them to Joel. He wasn't there, so we left them in his room.
Stopped on the way home to look at the hall the couple is having their reception at and ended up going a few miles farther and visiting friends. Met Vikki and Kenzie for ice cream afterwards. They surprised me and each painted me a beautiful bird house. They both did such a wonderful job. Can't wait to set them out tomorrow. Thanks Vikki and Kenzie.

6/10/08

I picked Hailey and Max up in the morning so they could spend the day and night at nana and papa's. We stopped at McDonald's on our way to Nana's and got Happy Meals plus cookies. Right after Hailey finished eating she said she had to go potty. She doesn't like the way the toilet flushes automatically and the loud noise it makes so I couldn't talk her in to going there. They didn't get to play, but both were just as happy as could be and were so cute as they said "we all have to take hands when we leave. We got home and played for a while. When it was Max's naptime, Hailey and I swam for a while.
She wanted me to call Kenzie to come play with her so, Kimmy dropped Kenzie off. Max woke up and we all swam. Hailey had so much fun playing tag with Kenzie. Max loved just riding in the boat. I loved getting the exercise. Papa got home and we all raced for the first kiss. That's something Kenzie and I started when she was small. She loves to beat me. I was the last one since all the kids beat me. We ate supper and Hailey was asking to say the prayer. She prays so sweetly and says nice long ones. God has to be smiling down on her. We played some more and than read books before Max had to go to bed. We did "what do today". And Max told me a couple of things. Hailey had a whole list of course. Max goes to bed amazingly good. I can't believe how he doesn't complain but gets his blanket, has his milk, and heads for bed. Kenzie, Hailey and I watched a movie and had a snack and then we were off to bed too. The girls wanted to sleep on the bean bag and I was going to sleep on the bed. A few minutes after they layed down, they both decided they wanted to crawl in bed with me. They were asleep in a few minutes. It must have been all that swimming that tired them out. In the morning, I got them up early as we had to get ready to take them home so I could take grandpa to his appointment for his hearing aid at 10am. On my way to take them home, grandpa called me on his cell phone and said "aren't we gonna go to get my hearing aid checked; my appointment is a 9 am? He had told me on the phone two days ago that it was at 10. We started heading right over to his house, called to see if he should still go to his appt. and then I dropped him off, took the kiddos home, and went back to pick grandpa up.
He hadn't been hearing too well out of his one hearing aid, but it just needed cleaning. He heard me great once I picked him up. We stopped at a shoe shop to see if they could sew a glove for him. The man did it for me right while I waited so grandpa was happy when I came back to the car with it. I am getting really excited about my new grandson's arrival...So is Bill. Can't wait!!!! Bill and I met with a couple he is going to marry. They were so sweet. They brought us a beautiful salad that they had made from stuff out of their garden. It was delicious. We stopped at Bruce and Melissa's since we were in the area to look at their ironing board cupboard. The kids were swimming and Bruce was cooking. Melissa must have been supervising I guess. You go Mel!!!

Hailey wanted me to take a picture of her with her toothbrush.

Look at those clean teeth!

4th of July 2008

It was another great 4th of July celebration. We went on one night with Vikki, Rody & Kenzie and then went with everyone the next night. We always go early and just enjoy relaxing, visiting and watching the kids. The fireworks were great both nights. Bill always knows how to get out of town fast afterwards and beat the crowds. I see Jared was pretty fast this year. They were home by the time we got through the crowds. They did leave earliler than we did, but they had a long drive. I was happy to hear they were home and also happy when I heard everyone else in the family was through the traffic.
I always love seeing the kids watch the fireworks. Hailey didn't even cover her ears this year. I got to hold Adam and loved watching his eyes follow the fireworks. About half way through, he fell asleep. It was so nice having our sweet friend, Melissa there with us along with her two precious children. Hailey loved playing with Eve, and all the kids played and got along so well. Very fun time!!!

What is papa teaching Kenzie...see next picture..She learns fast.

Jared sure looks cute as can be in this picture.

Dad looks pretty handsome with hair. He used a little too much moose though.

This is how Rody looks with hair. Dad was kind enough to share with him.
