10/18/08 HAPPY BIRTHDAY KIMMY AND VIKKI...WE LOVE YOU!!!

Happy Birthday to our sweet twins, Kimmy and Vikki. Hope your day is special.

Last night Melissa and Bruce dropped Hailey off while they go on their trip. She was so sweet. We did her night time routine and I was so blessed to hear how she prays. She prays better than alot of adults do. Amazing!!! We read her books and she listens so good and answers all the questions. She is quite a conversationalist now. She is growing up so fast into such a nice little girl. Nana is very proud of her. She went to sleep in our room on a compfy bed made of blankets and a sleeping bag. She slept all night through and didn't wake up until I woke her in the morning.
Today we got up and went to a Mission's breakfast at church. Hailey was very good there too. We left and went to grandpa's house. He was happy to see Hailey.
I gave Taylor his IV and it went quite well although it's not something I enjoy having to do. Grandpa was a big help to me. We came home and Hailey and I went to make Aunt Kimmy and Aunt Vikki's birthday cake. We started and realized it was a brownie mix. We made them because Hailey said she wanted to eat a brownie at the party instead of cake and probably some of the other kids would want to too. She helped me make cabbage buns while the cake and brownies were baking. She had lots of flour on her face and hands but did a great job spreading the dough out for me to put the hamburger filling on. When we were done, we frosted the cake. Then we played pretty pretty princess. She beat me bad. She had all the good jewels and crown and I had the ugly black ring. After we were finished we went outside and raked leaves so we could play in them. She worked very hard raking and kept right at it until we had a big pile. We had fun and took lots of pictures. We came back in the house for a while and she played with play dough. She was so happy when her mommy and daddy called and talked to her. She ran for the phone when I told her who was calling. She told them everything she had done, and had lots of kisses and hugs to give them over the phone. All day she was looking forward to the birthday party. She picked out a beautiful white top with sparkles and put it on and said it would be perfect for the party. She made beautiful cards for her aunts too.
Papa started working in the garden and she wanted to help him clean it out. She was hauling corn husks for him and worked real hard. I left to pick up grandpa while she ate and papa watched her. We went to Kimmy's and had a great time. We ate lots of yummy cake and ice cream and watched the girls open their presents. The kids loved helping blow out the candles. It was so fun watching all the kids play together, including big kid Jared. He had them laughing. He put the tunnel over his head and would go looking for kids to pick up and take inside it. Max was scared and sat by me so I would hide him with a pillow. Pretty soon Jacob was hiding with him with another pillow. All the kids would laugh when Jared got them except Max. He wanted nothing to do with it even though he saw it was Uncle Jared in there. He clung to me to hide him. He was so cute. One time Hailey wanted the car Max was playing with so Max came up to Vikki and me and said, "Do we have to share the car" in his little accent. It was so cute. Adam smiled his cute smiles when Kimmy would ask him to smile. So adorable. Kenzie made us all cards. They were so sweet. That was so thoughtful and we all sure loved them. She is so kind hearted and very good with her cousins. We miss Jack. He went with his mommy and daddy. We missed them at the party, but know they are having fun.

Hailey like this huge leaf she found and wanted her picture taken with it.

Hailey took this picture of nana. The one above we set the self timer for.

Hailey and Nana mashing the squash...10/12/08

Hailey wanted to help me mash the squash from our garden. She was a really big help. When it came time to taste it to see if we added enough sugar, she made a face and said she didn't like it. I thought it was delicious. It was pretty good that she tried it to see if she liked it. She's going to be a good cook some day. I'm glad she is interested in helping. Kenzie was the same way and she still loves making food. Her specialty is meatloaf (she makes the best) and choc. chip cookie dough.

Went to church this morning and taught Sunday School. Stopped at dad's on the way there. He gave me a cabbage and had me take one to give to someone at church. They were from his garden. We came home, ate and cleaned off the deck with the blower. Bruce and Melissa got here so we were very happy to see them. We visited for a while, then when Max took his nap, Melissa and I went to the baby stores and also to visit Taylor. He was happy to see us and have us spend time with him. He is doing so much better now. We pick him up at 7:30 in the morning and go back to our vet.
While we were shopping, Bill took grandpa hunting. They asked a lady if they could hunt on her property and she said yes. Within 5 minutes, Bill got two turkeys with one shot. Grandpa had to put his tag on the second turkey so their hunt was over.
Needless to say Bill was extremely happy...we were all happy for him. Lots of smiles. Hailey wanted to know if the turkey was in heaven now. Papa gave them each feathers to have. I forgot to mention the first store Melissa and I went to didn't have the color of blanket she wanted. They were 19.99 there. We went to another store and they only had two of this kind of blanket. They were both the same color green that Melissa wanted and they were on sale for 11.99. What are the chances of that happening. Thank you Lord!!! The color is beautiful and baby Jack snuggled in and looked so compfy wrapped in it. Hailey and Max picked out their pumpkins and Bruce loaded them in the van. Mykenzie, Vikki and Rody came for theirs later, but it was too dark to take good pictures. They were going to go carve them with a couple from church and their kids. They had beautiful pictures of a pumpkin patch they visited. Looked like so much fun.

Bill got two turkeys with one shot!!! How exciting!!!

Jack got his new blanket...he was very happy with it so it appears. What sweet pictures!

Today we had a color tour with our Christian Motorcycle group. Great weather and great turn out. Before we went, I went to visit grandpa's doggie in the doggie hospital. He was doing much better. After that I ran Kenzie's book bag to Bruce and Melissa's so Vikki could pick it up after her walk for cancer. I am very proud of Vikki and Rody.
They are reading their Bibles and seeking God. I couldn't be happier. They are so enthusiastic. It is great talking to them and being around them. When I got home we left. The color was absolutely beautiful. Nothing like God's beauty. We left after we ate lunch with everybody as Bill wanted to get back to take grandpa turkey hunting. They drove around and saw one person carrying a turkey they had just got.
They really didn't have a place to hunt themselves as they need permission from land owners to go on their property. I went back to visit Taylor later and then Bill and I went to visit a friend and neighbor who is in the hospital with pneumonia.
We came home and watched a movie, then it was nite nite time.
