Adam by the round bale.  He looks so tall by it now.  He used to look really short by them. I borrowed this from Kimmy!

After I ate and read my Bible, I started painting the dresser upstairs with primer.  I finished in time to get ready and go to Eli and Adam's games.  I watched half of Eli's game first.  He did great and was really on the move and in the action.  He kicked the ball a bunch of times.  At halftime, Jared and Jacob came to watch the second half of Eli's game, and Kimmy and I went to watch the second half of Adam's game.  Adam played great too, and when ever the ball came down at his end where the other team was trying to make a goal, he kicked it and got it going in the right direction.  He was on the move lots too.  I loved watching them play.  They are moving really fast, with all the practice they are getting at home.  They wore face masks the whole time they were playing.  Kimmy and I were hot just sitting there wearing our face masks.  Can't imagine playing soccer in one.  I met Bill and some friends from Faith Riders afterward.  It was pretty out with some of the trees we passed, starting to change color.  I gave the dresser a second coat of primer.

Eli called me over to look at what he made.  I didn't have my camera, but he told me his mom took a picture.  Thanks Kimmy...I borrowed both of them

Sanded the dresser tonight

Bill and I went to Menards, then Vikki's and Home Depot.  We measured Vikki's fireplace for the mantle Bill is working on for it.  Bill had a coffee.  I took pictures of the kiddos.  We went to Home Depot afterward, so I could get the primer and paint for painting the dresser.  When we were checking out, a older gentleman in line who reminded me of my dad, turned and noticed Bill was a Marine.  He told him Semper Fi and they talked about their time in the service.  I thanked him for his service.  He was so nice.  After he paid, he threw a $20 bill on our paint can in our cart.  He told us to put it towards our stuff.  Bill gave it back to him, but he put it right back on the can.  He told us God had blessed him, and he had to bless others so to keep it.  Bill told him we were Christians too and asked him where he goes to church.  He was such a blessing to us.  We prayed for him when we walked back to our car.  When we got back to our house, I started cleaning out the drawers in the dresser I'm going to paint. Kimmy called me and told me they were here on the back deck.  I was so happy to see them.  We visited on the deck and social distanced since they have a probable case of Covid at Jacob's school.  Vikki and the kids got here next.  She made her, Kimmy and I a specialty coffee that was like Starbucks!  It was delicious!  I made pizza and put it on the deck for lunch.  Vikki sanitized and dished it up.  Also warmed up stuffed peppers and baked potatoes for those that wanted them.  The boys practiced their soccer.  It was fun watching them.  It was a beautiful day and we all enjoyed sitting out on the deck visiting.  I am so thankful every time I look at the deck and think of all the hard work the kids all did and the love they showed us by being such blessings to us.  Joel called us and told us he was using his birthday gift card we got him at Cracker Barrel.  He said his food was really good and thanked us.  We love Joel!  Everybody left to go home.  Jacob and Eli did their famous stand out the window wave.  I talked to Melissa a long time and had a nice talk.  Took the handles off and sanded the dresser upstairs.

Thursday, 9/24/2020, Watched Peyton and Isaac, Cooked more squash, Helped Vikki plant some plants

So many blossoms on my knockout roses...I cut the old blossoms off and there are so many new buds coming.  Just beautiful this year.  My Yarro plant from Kimmy is doing great too with lots of new flowers coming

Peyton doing her spelling words

Isaac having fun with his new circuit set he got

Peyton and Isaac playing 3-13 with me....We had to quit at Queens so we could go see Vikki.  To be continued...Nana is ahead...usually these kiddos beat me

Got up at 7:30 and put things back in the bedroom upstairs.  Vikki brought Peyton and Isaac around 8 for me to watch.  Vikki had some of my yummy squash for breakfast.  Peyton had toast and I had oatmeal.  Isaac said he wasn't hungry because he had cereal at home.  They were excited about their circuit sets they got yesterday.  After Vikki left, we put worship music on.  Then we did spelling.  Isaac didn't get any wrong and Peyton only missed 4.  She wrote the words she missed 5 times and then we practiced more.  After that we read The Hideout chapter book, they read Pony Pals, and also the Picture Bible.  I love to listen to them read.
We were ready to play 3-13 then.  We had fun and while they dealt, I cooked and mashed the squash so I could send some home with Vikki.  We stopped during the Queen round, because we wanted to go drive through the school and see Vikki and talk to her.  She and Jamie were handing out lunches.  They had worship music playing and it was so nice to hear.  Such a blessing!  She gave me the lunches for Melissa's kids and we delivered them to her house.  We picked up McDonald's Happy Meals for them at the one by us and came home so they could eat.  They loved the dinosaur egg with the baby dinosaur in it that came with the meal.  I warmed up the chicken and potatoes I made on the grill last night, and also heated up the squash for Vikki and I.  After that, we went to her house and I helped her plant plants outside that her Landlord brought over to plant.  It went pretty quick with both of us working.  Looked very nice when we were done.  We talked to Kimmy for a while.  I came home and picked some big green peppers and made stuffed peppers, baked potatoes, corn and warmed up the squash for me.  Bill doesn't like it.  We read our Bibles and then did some other reading.

Wed., 9/23/2020, Worked outside, Shampooed carpet, sat by fire in the evening

Beautiful fall morning.  Tree is starting to change color

Cut down my plants by the shed today.

Enjoying my outside plants while they last

Cooked squash from the garden today

Handsome grandson, Jacob

Bill and I enjoyed sitting by the gas fire pit tonight
Nice Fire on the deck tonight

It was just a beautiful morning.  We ate our oatmeal and read our Bibles.  Got my oriole feeder and two hummingbird feeders washed to put away till next year.  I left one hummingbird feeder out just in case one still comes around.  I filled the hanging bird bath Vikki made me and saw chickadees drinking from it.  Bill mowed the lawn, and I cut down my plants by the shed deck.  After lunch, I shampooed the carpet in the big bedroom upstairs.  I also did the stairs.  Bill worked on the downstairs bathroom door.  It wouldn't latch right and wouldn't lock on the bathroom side.  They didn't have the part the lock goes in in the right place, so he moved it,  and it works perfect now.  I am sure happy to have that done.  I always locked it with the other lock from our bedroom side.  I cooked potatoes and chicken breasts on the grill for dinner.  Had yummy squash too.  We sat out by the fire pit in the evening.  It was so nice and relaxing.  Talked to Vikki a couple of times today and talked to Kimmy for a while.

Some pictures of Hailey with her friends!

Peyton and Isaac were up when I got up.  They were so quiet I didn't even hear them.  They made their bed before they came down.  We ate breakfast and then worked on spelling.   They both did good on their first test before seeing the words.  They wrote the ones they missed 5 times and then we did a test on those words.  I read our book, The Hideout, we've been reading and then they read the picture Bible to me and also Pony Pals.  They did great reading.  We played 3-13.  They do a good job adding their points.  Vikki came after work and we all ate lunch and visited.  After they left, I cut down my peonies, washed my oriole feeders and a couple hummingbird feeders, and filled my other feeders.  Bill got home from his MRI appointment in Detroit, and we went for a 3 mile walk down our road.  When I got home, I had to get ready to go to my prayer group at church to pray.  It was an amazing time of prayer.

We packed up and headed back home.  We got home around 5:30 and unloaded the camper.  We emptied it out because that's our last camping trip of the year.  We had beautiful weather the whole time, even though it was cool at nights (in the 30's).  Always nice to get home.  Melissa called me when we were almost home.  They took Jeffrey, their guinea pig camping with them, and he was dead when they got up.  He was good at 2 a.m. when Melissa was up.  At least he went peacefully.  I feel bad for the kids because I know how much they loved him.  They always took such good care of him.  They stopped at Kimmy and Jared's.  Jeffrey used to be theirs.  They buried him where all their other pets are buried and got a special stone to mark the grave.  I know that had to help them feel better.  Melissa loved Jeffrey too and so did Bruce.  They were always giving him special treats and sharing their salad.  He even got Christmas presents.  They are sure going to miss him.  I'm sad too because I liked him too. I liked Melissa's camping pictures so I borrowed some.
