Kenzie sent me these adorable pictures of my sweet Rehvyn today

I made a cappuccino and had a muffin with it that Bill had picked up at Tim Horton’s for me.  We read our Bibles and did our devotions afterwards.  I finished some Christmas cards I had to get in the mail.  I read in one of my handwritten journals about when my dad in his 90’s told me his secret.  When he got a Christmas card that year, he would cut out the return address and then write out a Christmas card to them and stick the return address on the card to mail it.  I sure had to laugh at that memory.

I made up a list of things I still needed to pick up for Christmas gifts for a few people.  Kenzie sent me some adorable pictures of Rehvyn.  It is so sweet of her because she knows I love getting pictures of him and love him so much.  Kimmy called and was going to stop over before the boys dentist appointment and drop off a couple of gifts she picked up for me.  I was supposed to go meet Vikki at 2 at Hobby Lobby, but she had to cancel and we will go tomorrow.  Kimmy got to my house and came in for a couple minutes, then left for the dentist.  I was happy to see my Kimmy even for a couple of minutes.  I went to a few stores, then came home so I could get Hailey’s birthday present in a gift bag and fill out her card before we went to celebrate her birthday at Texas Roadhouse.   Kenzie called me and wanted me to order something for Travis for her.  I started doing that so it would maybe come before Christmas, when Hailey came.  I finished talking to Kenzie, granddaughter #1  and then we gave Hailey granddaughter #2 her gift.  I had to get my hug from her after she opened her card because I was on the phone.  She was very happy with her gifts because they were on the list she gave me.  We went to eat, and we all had sirloin steak and mashed potatoes.  We all loved the rolls there too.  They are the best. We always have fun with our Hailey girl. Bill and I had a salad too and Hailey had big Texan Fries.  She took lots of her food home.  We brought Hailey back to our house to get her car, then we drove and she drove to Evan’s Christmas program.  We saved seats for Melissa, Bruce, Jack, Dan and Brenda.  We had really good seats to see Evan.  It was a really nice program and Evan sang so nice and did his Scripture reading really well too.  We visited with Ginny, her mom and Ally after for a while, then with Brenda and Dan.  I took my traditional picture of Hailey and Ally, like I have done since they were in Kindergarten together.  We left and came home and watched a movie.

We had a great praise report from Bill’s sister, Angie.  Her husband had prostrate cancer and it went into the bone.  We had prayed with him to receive Jesus and for healing when we visited Kansas and stayed with them in October.  He had testing done and the results show no detectable cancer.  Yay!  What a Christmas miracle.  What a great and awesome God.  He had many praying for him for a long time and God was faithful to answer.  I am so happy.

Monday, 12/18/23, Made 2 batches of Christmas Cookies, Vikki came over and we made cabbage buns, dropped off Jack’s card and note, Vikki and the kids helped decorate cookies

Love this picture of Rehyvn smiling so cute
I loved feeding Rehvyn his bottle yesterday.  Didn’t know Vikki took this until she sent it to me this morning
Blooms are opening on my Christmas cactus
Two beautiful cardinals on the feeders.  Looks like they are posing for me.  There were 3 but one flew off.
Great helpers today.  Vikki helped too!

Woke up at 5:30.  Looked out the window and saw the new kitty jump off the top of Kit Kat’s house.  Peyton named it Hershey.  She jumped down quickly and ran off.  I decided to go back to bed, but then after a few minutes, I thought I’d better get up and make Christmas cookies, because Vikki and the kids are going to help decorate after school.  I made 2 batches.  After that, I got dough going in both bread makers.  Vikki is helping me make cabbage buns for her and I too.

Kenzie called and Rehvyn had his first dr. appt.  He weighs 7 lbs. 6 oz., so is almost back up to his birth weight of 7 lbs. 8 oz.  She said he’s doing great!

Vikki came over when she got out of work.  The dough had to raise another half hour.  I offered to make her something to eat, but we decided to have cabbage buns when they were done.  We did have a snack to hold us over though.  Vikki was tired, so I told her I would go get the kids.  I had written a note and a page of Scripture for Jack and I needed to drop it off at Melissa’s.  Jack’s Algebra teacher wanted parents and another close family member to write an encouraging letter with Scripture verses for his students.  I had forgotten about it until Melissa reminded me about it today.  I was just finishing it when Vikki came.  Well, I went to get the kids and when I got there I realized it was 2:45 and they don’t get out until 3:45.  At least I got the letter to Melissa.  Vikki was on the phone with Kenzie and didn’t realize I had told her I was going.  Otherwise she would have told me it was too early.

The dough was raised nicely, so we made the cabbage buns.  We made 24 of them.  Vikki, Bill and I ate some, then I split the rest with Vikki so she could take some home.  She left to  go get the kids.  I made the frosting so when they got back we started decorating cookies.  We did all but 2 1/2 dozen that I saved out to take to Melissa so they can decorate them.

Vikki and the kids left, and when the frosting on the cookies was hard enough, I packed some up for the freezer and put the rest in a container to have for us and visitors.

We watched a movie in the evening.  It was a Christian movie that was very suspenseful, but had a good ending.  Bill scared me a few times during it to be funny.

We went to prayer, then into the church service.  In prayer, Frances prayed an amazing prayer for Rehvyn.  I was so thankful she just did that on her own.  Rody and Isaac worked in the technical room.  After church, we prayed for people then, visited some and then we took took Isaac home with us.  We changed, loaded the cabbage buns and gift to take to Kenzie’s and the banana cream pudding dessert to take to the Christmas party.  We stopped at Subway and got subs for lunch.  Isaac had said he didn’t want anything when we left home, but changed his mind when we got there.  He got bacon on his sandwich so Bill decided to try some on his turkey sandwich.  He told Isaac he’s going to get that from now on.

We went to Kenzie’s and Bill waited by the door so we could go in at the same time.  I was unloading the cabbage buns and putting the gift bag down, so Vikki handed Rehvyn to Bill.  He got to hold him first.  I took pictures of them and then I got to hold him.  He is so precious and sweet.  I got to feed him a bottle too.  He sure is a good eater.  It was so much fun.  I took pictures of Isaac holding him and Peyton too.  Isaac wanted to hold him again and took a bunch of pictures of the baby and the baby smiled in them for him.  Kenzie and Vikki took lots of amazing pictures of baby.  Travis took Bill out to show him his work shop.  They spent a lot of time out there.  We enjoyed all of our time with baby and each other.

When Bill came in, we got ready and left to go to the CMA Flint Chapter Christmas party.  We sat with Bev and Jim and had a good time.

We came home, read our Bibles, did our devotions, and then watched a good movie.

Sat., 12/16/23, Went to Meijer’s and Jacks, Vikki and I made cabbage buns to take to Kenzie and Travis

Baby Reh today!  So adorable!
When Jacob helped Papa put the snow plow on the tractor yesterday, Papa gave him a jacket to wear.  Jacob liked it, so he gave it to him.  He had bought two of them.
My first along side the road pick up.  I’m learning from Vikki.  I found this beautiful OXO highchair.  It is wooden and will look nice in the kitchen when baby is the age to use it.  Vikki and I cleaned it up really good.  The people even set out the directions for it.  They live on our road.

Cabbage buns all made for Kenzie and Travis
Peyton with the cute sign Vikki found at VOA Thrift store for $10
Vikki tried it on my wall and we liked it so well, she let me buy it and have it.  It’s so peaceful to look at.

Slept in until 9:45.  I couldn’t believe it!  Bill was already up and reading his Bible.  I had wanted to get up early so I could take cans back and get some coffee and filters.  I decided to shower later and leave right away to go to the stores.  When I was leaving Meijer, Vikki called me and we decided to make Kenzie and Travis some cabbage rolls today.  I picked up some burger from Jacks and headed home to start some dough in the bread makers.  On my way home, I saw a really nice high chair out by he road, so I turned around to go look at it.  It was beautiful and very sturdy, so I picked it up.  It was a first for me.

I got the dough going, then cooked the burger, onion and cabbage.  While it was cooking, I worked on cleaning the highchair.  Vikki dropped Peyton of at a friend’s house to decorate cookies and go to their Christmas party.  Then she came to my house around 4 and helped me finish cleaning the high chair.  She took the straps out so we could soak them and clean them with a brush.  It sure cleaned up nice.  Then she thought the sign she got today would look really good on my wall. We held it up and it looked so nice.  She said I could buy it from her if I wanted.  It looks so nice, but I wanted to make sure she didn’t want it at her house.  She didn’t, so we hung it up and found stuff I had to go with it.  It looks so nice.  Thank you, Vikki for always being so generous.

After we were done, the dough was raised so we started making the cabbage buns.  I spread the dough out and Vikki put the filling on.  It sure is easy with two of us working on it.  Kenzie loves cabbage buns, so we are very excited to give them to her.  We sure love our girl!  Bill, Vikki and I sampled some to make sure they were good.  They were!  Vikki hung out here while she waited for Peyton to call for her to pick her up.  We had some Oreo cookies for our dessert.

Made banana cream pudding dessert for our Christmas Party tomorrow in Flint with the CMA chapter.  Yay, before we go to it, I get to meet Rehvyn for the first time.  Vikki is going there first, then we will get there shortly after.  I let her take my car home tonight, so she and Rody could put the chair I am going in on for Kenzie for Christmas in it and take it to her tomorrow.  It’s a pretty new chair they are letting Kenzie and I buy.  It’s what Kenzie wanted from us for Christmas.  She sure will enjoy having it with the baby.

Friday, 12/`5/23, Kimmy and Jacob came over, We FaceTimed with Kenzie and Rehvyn, we all went to Culver’s for lunch, Kimmy and I went shopping, Jacob picked Eli up, Vikki and the twins came over, Jared picked Kimmy up

I made Jacob a cappuccino when he got here.  He loved it like the rest of us do.
I love FaceTiming with sweet baby Rehvyn.  He’s a heart melter
Kimmy moved by me and joined in the fun.  We could watch him all day he’s just so cute.
Bill, Jacob and I at Culver’s.  After this picture the four of us moved to a booth
Kenzie sent me this.  Isn’t he just the cutest baby!
His little feet are so cute too!
Peyton...she’s so pretty
Isaac...he’s so handsome

Bill went to coffee with Charlie.  I got a few things done, and made my oatmeal and cappuccino.  Finished drinking my cappuccino while I read my Bible and did my devotion.  Played For King and Country’s Christmas video on You Tube.  It was playing when Jacob and Kimmy got here.  He sang along and knows every word.  He’s a great singer.

I made cappuccinos for Kimmy and Jacob when they came.  It was the first time Jacob had one and he liked them like we all do, excluding Bill of course.  He’s just a plain coffee drinker.

Bill went out to mail something and our neighbor across the street asked him if he heard all the police cars and emergency vehicles in front of our house at 2 a.m..  He told her no. She said a drunk driver went in the ditch and so she called 911.  The driver got out of the car and started running off.  The police were shining lights all over our property.  We both just slept right through it all.  Our neighbor, Chase, behind us, texted Bill in the morning to see if we were ok.  Bill thought it was a scam, but then found out it wasn’t so answered him back.  I am so thankful for good neighbors who watch out for us.

Jacob and Bill went out to the shed to put the snow plow on the tractor.  It didn’t take them long at all.  Of course, Kimmy and I were FaceTiming with Kenzie and Rehvyn, so time flew by.  It was such a fun part of our day.

Bill asked if we all wanted to go to Culver’s for lunch.  We did of course!  Bill and Jacob drove together, Kimmy drove her van, and I drove my car.  We all enjoyed our lunch together.  Jacob picked Eli up for Kimmy.  He was so thoughtful because he told Kimmy Eli wouldn’t want to just wait 20 minutes at school.  Middle schoolers don’t like to do that.  Then Kimmy told him he could take Eli to McDonalds and he told her he had already planned on that.  What a kind brother.  Bill had an errand to run, and Kimmy and I went to Goodwill, TJ Max and Dick’s Sporting Goods.  We found everything we wanted and got great prices.  We were looking for something at Goodwill for Jared that Vikki got for us that were new, but they were out.  We looked to see if they had any at TJ Max, but they didn’t.  Then I told her we should go to Burlington’s and look.  We found the exact same thing we wanted for 3.99.  Plus Kimmy got my Christmas present there too. We were both so happy.
It was nice to find that extra thing that Kimmy, Vikki and I love to throw in with Jared’s gift.

Vikki and the kids came after she picked the kids up from school.  She had to get an oil change in her car right after she got out of work.  We were happy she could come.
Melissa didn’t come because Bruce had a runny nose and was sneezing and didn’t know if it was allergies or was a cold starting.  We prayed for him and prayed protection for the rest of the family...especially Melissa.

The new kitty was here in the morning, but I didn’t see it after that.  Bill and I watched a movie.  It was a true story about a couple who almost died in a snowmobile incident.  It was good because of the great ending.
