We let Hailey know Rwhvyn was here and she came over right away to see him.  She sure does love him!

My favorite Hibiscus
Evan loves Rehvyn too and is so good with him!

Hailey is amazing with Rehvyn

We had our girl's Friday gathering with the grandkids included.  Melissa couldn’t make it, but Jack and Evan did. Kenzie and Rehvyn came too.  We haven’t seen them in a long time because of going to BayShore, then covid spreading.  We were sure happy to see them both!
It rained pretty hard out for a while, then just rained gently.  My plants are happy and so am I that I don’t have to water them.  At 11, Vikki and rode with Kimmy to take Adam to school to get his schedule and pick up his computer. We parked and waited for him and he was out in a few minutes.  We saw the deer Bruce hit yesterday on our way to his school. We came back to our house and Kenzie and Peyton came back with Culver’s small sundaes for us. Yum!  Thanks Kenzie!  We ate lunch and had fun with Rehvyn while hanging out together. Kenzie had to leave and Vikki is having Rehvyn overnight.  Rehvyn watches for Kenzie and when he sees her he smiles so big.  He was happy to see his daddy when she FaceTimed him too.  Vikki is sure is happy she gets baby for the night.

We girls rode together again to take Adam to his soccer practice.  We almost left because no one was at either field and it was 3:30.  We even ordered a hot fudge brownie dessert from Big Boy for Adam with our orders.  Jared called and said practice was at 3:30 today, but then saw it was going to be at 4.  We dropped Adam off and went to Big Boy.  Vikki cancelled Adam’s dessert and we headed there.  Kimmy called Jared and was talking to him, then he surprised us by pulling in the parking spot right next to us,  Guess we shouldn’t have  cancelled that extra dessert.  Jared headed to Great Gifts because they are closing the store so they can help their parents more. Jared went to talk to them about moving their pottery and shelves out.  We were sad to hear they were closing.  We enjoyed our desserts but were really full afterwards.  We stopped at an antique store on our way home.  We had fun looking at things. Vikki got a Doiley and Kimmy almost bought a cute breadbox.  She didn’t, but called me later and I am picking it up for her tomorrow.

When we got back, we called and let Hailey know Revhyn was at my house. She came over and played with him until she had to leave for Bible Study.  It was so much fun watching them together.  Kimmy git a call that Adam got injured at soccer practice.  He got kneed, then stepped into a hole.  He said everyone could hear his knee pop.  Yikes.  They have to call an orthopedic surgeon on Monday.  He is on crutches for now and said his pain is a 7 out of 10.  We all felt so bad that this happened to our Adam.  He is just so sweet and such a great kid.  We know Romans 8:28 though...that God works all things out for good for those who love God and are the called according to His purpose.  So thankful we know the Word so we can stand on it when something happens.  Many prayers are being prayed for our Adam.

Thursday, 8/15/24, Pulled some weeds, made roast, carrots and potatoes, took Sue to pay a bill, then brought her to our house to have dinner, we went to see Charlie

I didn’t take any pictures today.  Started the day out with breakfast and coffee, then filled bird feeders and turned on the pool filter, then came in and read my Bible and my devotion book.  Bill read his at the same time.  I’m in Jeremiah now.  It mentions many times about people being led astray by their Shepards and everyone worshipping things other than the True God who created everything.  Says many times they needed to turn back to God and follow his commands, not their own ways.  They wanted to do evil back then too.  Only way to know His commands is to read the Bible and know His will for us.  I will almost be done with the Old Testament and back in the new.

I peeled carrots which was a hoot with my right hand in a splint and plaster by my fingers.  I managed with my thumb and pointer finger which are out, but it sure wasn’t easy.  I ended up just washing the potatoes and when Bill came in from fixing a broken wire in the light of the trike, he poked the potatoes with a fork for me.  He cut up the onion for me.  Then he put it in the oven for me.  I listened to Sunday’s message I missed because of being in SS.  Took a twenty minute rest, and then went to pick up Sue to take her to pay a bill.  They were going to charge her because she didn’t have Charlie’s card it was charged on.  We will go back a different day and pay it for it without a fee.  We came to my house and had the roast, carrots, potatoes and applesauce.  Sue had seconds and so did I.  Sue and I had ice cream for dessert.  Bill wanted his ice cream later.  He sure helped me with putting the food in serving bowls, cutting the meat and washing the roaster pan afterward.   Sue and I went t visit Charlie afterwards.  He had eaten all of his chicken Alfredo for dinner.  We all had a really nice visit.   We talked about how we are family even though not blood related.  He grabbed my hand when it was time for us to leave and gave it a big long squeeze.  Then he blew Sue a kiss.  He has some favorite nurses and CNA’s who are his favorites and he is their favorite patient so that helps him lots while he has to be there.

Relaxed, did my blog, and then going to bed.

W ed., 814/24, Happy Birthday to our dear friend Joel! Did laundry, took meal to Sue, went to Visit Barb, drove past Hailey’s apartment for college, went to 5 guys, drove in Outdoor adventures new campground, watered garden

Happy Birthday Joel! We love you!
Bill and Max had fun target shooting
We had a great time visiting our friend Barb today
Bill, Barb and I!  We love this s sweet friend!

We drove through one of the newer Outdoor Adventures.  It was so nice.  We will have to plan a stay there.

I had my coffee with one of the cookies Bill made for the party.  We read our Bibles.  Bill picked Max up and brought him here to hang out and practice shooting.  I read up on my washer and washed two blankets.  It sure is fast and does a great job getting it clean and spinning it almost dry.  The dryer works great and is fast too! What a difference from the ones I had.  I sold my Maytags and bought these ones that Rody’s mom bought.  Vikki and Rody already had a great set when they moved into hr house, so where these were new we figured they would be better.  Ours were 12 years old and someone still bought the set for $450.  Right away I knew the Maytags were far better and faster.  Bill just decided he wanted Maytag again so found  this pair.  He didn’t realize the washer was a GE until he got home and I showed him.  They match really well.  I looked up the GE and it gets 5 star reviews and is quick and efficient just like my Maytag was.  It is a joy to do laundry again!

I took some stuffed peppers, a baked potato and some corn to Sue and dropped off 4 protein drink 15 packs for her.  She put them two at a time on her walker and waled them up the ramp to their house.  I couldn’t help because of my hand.  I did open the boxes for her with my left hand though because they were hard to open.

When I got home, we left to go visit Barb, our friend who is battling cancer.  We split a Butterfinger and had some red licorice on the way.  The place she is in is so nice and she gets such great care she said.  She was so sweet and kept talking about the goodness of the Lord and giving Him the glory for everything He has done.  What a joy to be around her.  Jeannie who goes to church with Barb came there too because she knows us from when Kimmy and Vikki were 2 and Melissa was 4 1/2.  Long time!  We had a great visit with her,  then she left and we visited another hour with Barb.  What a treasured time it was!  We hugged and said our goodbyes, then left.  We ate at 5 Guys and the burgers, fries and peanuts were the best!  We drove through Outdoor Adventures to see what they have done too it sine we were there last time.  Then we headed home.  What a fun day!

I watered the garden in the evening, put pool weekly maintenance in the pool and ran the filter, gave Kit Kat some attention, and then came in to work on my blog.

Tues., 8/13/24, Cleaned the washer and dryer, made stuffed green peppers and meatloaf with Bill helping with what I couldn’t;t do. went tp prayer

Still lots of blossoms every day!  The vinegar, dawn soap and water mixture took care of the bugs on it.
Kimmy’s Zinnias along the stepping stones look so pretty now

Pretty bouquet Marie and Roy picked and brought me tonight
Pretty flowers our church sent me

Max was watching with me to see how Bruce and Bill were going to get the heavy washer in place...They took it off the dolly and both slid it in place

Sue called me in the morning for prayer.  Charlie called Bill at the same time and asked him to pick up protein drinks for Sue.  He wants Bill to come visit which made Bill happy and me happy too.  I made us coffee and we read our Bibles and did devotions.  I wiped down the washer and dryer.  Then Bill hooked the dryer up

I filled bird feeders that needed filling and put suet in the suet feeder.  I watered some plants because it's been so dry out.  I made stuffed peppers and meatloaf.  I was able to do everything but cut the last two tops off the green peppers, lift the mixing bowl up and put the stuff in the oven.  I had made extra to give some to Sue, so the pan was heavy. I mixed the ingredients with the mixer since I couldn’t use my hands.  It made it very easy.  I set the timer and when it went off, Bill got the stuff out of the oven for me.  He didn’t know the meatloaf pan had two pans together and only picked it up by the top draining pan. the other pan with all of the hot grease dropped on the floor and the grease went all over the middle of the floor.  Praise God none got on Bill.  That would have burned him badly.  He cleaned up what he could with paper towels, then asked where the mop was and was going to mop it up.  I told him it had to be cleaned up with rags and hot water and dawn.  I went to get a wash tub to put the hot water and some Dawn in, and when I came back in the kitchen, Bill had squirted lots of 8 shapes of Dawn all over the floor.  Yikes.  I told him a little Dawn Powerwash goes a long way, so I took paper towels and cleaned off as much
Dawn as I could.  Then I kept wiping up the floor and rinsing my rags out that were overflowing with suds.  I ate a few bites of my waiting dinner, then put the rest in the refrigerator for later.  I told Bill he would have to keep rinsing the soap out of the rags.  I had to go to Prayer night at church.

Worship and prayer were really good.  Then we got into groups of 4 and prayed the Scriptures over leadership and others we had to pray for.  On our way out when we were done, Marie told me they had flowers for me. I offered to drive up by their car, but Roy said he would walk them to my car.  He’s 89 years old.  He prayed for me in Prayer before service on Sunday and prays so powerfully and sweetly.

When I came home, everything was put away and the dishes that couldn’t go in the dishwasher were done.  Bill had the screen door parts back on and the old dryer door back on.  The washer was hooked up and ready to use.  I tried them out and did two loads of laundry very quickly.  I’m so glad to have fast effecient laundry machines again.  Yay!
Bill got the last load out for me.

Monday, 8/12/24, Peyton and I went to watch Eli show his sheep. He did a great job and got 3rd Place in Showmanship, Bill picked up Jack and spent the day with him, Jacob drove to our house with Eli, they helped Bill pick up a washer and dryer

Peyton, Adam and Hope
Eli before he showed his sheep, Salami
I took this picture and then we all had a good laugh because it looked like Hope’s leg is missing.  I did a retake then which is below
The girls are finally taller than Adam

Lots of great pictures of Eli showing his sheep.  He did great and got 3rd place!  His sheep didn’t cooperate at times, but he still did amazing working with it to place 3rd.  I loved watching him!
It was a Nana and Peyton fun day too!  We took a selfie at the fair!
Jack and Jacob helping move the old dryer out
Eli had to take the dryer door off and got right at it without even being asked

Bill dropped Jack off at his house because it was after 10 when they got back here.  Eli, Jacob and Papa deciding how to get the heavy washer into the house.  It’s going to have to come in the front door so will be a project for another day.  They were tired and sore from bringing it up awful stairs at the other place,

I picked Peyton up at 8 a.m. and we headed to the fair.  We got to park again for free.  There’s never anyone at the gate that early.  Kimmy and Jared didn’t know that and could have parked lots closer all these years.  I guess I should have said something a long time ago, but I didn’t know they didn’t know.  We walked to where they show sheep and found them right away.  Took pictures as is tradition.  I was very proud of Eli and the way he showed his sheep.  He is quite an amazing grandson!  He also had to go out again for the meat showing.  His sheep didn’t end up weighing as much as the thought it would.  The judge still had great things to say about it.  I was going to take Adam to his school, but where Eli got done so quickly, Kimmy and Jared did.  Peyton and I walked with them and Eli to Tropical Smoothie to get Peyton, Adam and Hope.  That was right by where they had parked.  We got our hugs and said goodbye, then Peyton and I headed back to walk around the fair and go through the Merchant building.  We looked at some stuff for sale that Peyton liked, but she didn’t want me to get her anything.  After we walked around, we went through the 4 H building which was fun.  Then we decided to sit on a bench for 10 minutes til the Merchant building opened.  Kimmy called and she found knee braces for Adam for great prices at Walgreen’s.  Adam’s knee was bothering him some, then he and Jacob were wrestling around and it got hurt worse.  He is having Soccer tryouts tonight so really needs a brace.  I wanted Kimmy to use my card to get them free, so we headed to meet her.  I really want Adam to have these for tonight and free is the right price! We went to the wrong store, but Peyton had fun looking at Squishmallows while I called Kimmy to see which one she was at.  It was only a few miles away, so we headed there.  We got to the right store and found Kimmy.  She got them.  We went out to the parking lot and talked to Jared, Adam and hope for a minute, then left.

Peyton and I planned on going back to the Merchant’s building, but she asked me if we could just go to thrift stores instead because it would be more fun!  I agreed.  I love this girl so much.  We did have so much fun!  I told her I would get her something but the only thing she really found she liked was a set of bracelets for $3.99.  I got them for her and she put them on right away.  She reminded me so much of her mom when she looked at stuff.  She said she wasn’t hungry when I asked her if she wanted something to eat.  When we only had one more store to go to. Melissa and I talked and were saying how delicious the pulled pork Bruce made for the graduation party was.  He took some to work, but left some home for hr and Jack.  She told me Bill picked up Jack, so I should come over and eat his because he wouldn’t care.  By this time Peyton was hungry and wanted to go to McDonald’s.  We went through the drive through and got her a hamburger, fries and a Oreo McFlurry with extra Oreos.  She was very happy with that.  I took her home and then headed to Melissa’s.  We had our yummy pulled pork sandwiches and then had dirt dessert with gummy worms left over from the party! Yum!  Evan was so sweet and fun while I was there.  I use do love him too!  Melissa  were talking to Vikki and she and the kids wanted this dessert too.  Melissa packed some up for them.  I went to. the Library to pick up more free covid tests for Vikki because she had to use the last one she had.  Then I dropped off the tests and the desserts on the porch.  Peyton came out to get them.  I sure am missing my Vikki!  It was cute because Lateran I was telling Vikki that I had so much fun with Peyton and Peyton had told her that she had so much fun with Nana. It was a special memory making day the entire day.

I got home and I heard Jack and Papa in the basement laughing and having so much fun playing ping pong.  It made my heart so happy to hear Jack laughing like that!  I love him so much too!  They came upstairs and I hung out with Jack for a while.  He helped me put chlorine tablets in the pool floater dispenser,  Then he and Bill put liquid chlorine in the pool.

Jacob drove Eli here and all three boys helped get the old washer and dryer out of the house.  They left to go to Yale to pick up the new ones.  It was a long drive and they had to carry this super heavy washer upstairs.  When they got here, they brought the dryer I, ut the washer wouldn’t fit through the door from the garage so will have to come in the front door.  Jacob said his arms were sore and all agreed it would be another days project.  I was glad and prayed for all of them after all that hard work and body strain.  I love them so much.  I love all my grandkids and family!  I am blessed.
