Sweet picture of Marv and his wife Jeanette. He was so sad because he's missing her, but he knows he will see her again. He kept telling us we should do what we want to do as a couple now, don't wait. He told us they had plans for next summer and now he wishes he would have done them last summer. He told us all the things he did to bless her when he took care of her when she was sick. What a kind sweet man who loves Jesus so much and had such a great love for his wife. We will sure miss her at the Shack.
Got to Wes and Gayla’s at 9 a.m and they had us park our car in their garage. They drove us in their new van. We stopped at The Crystal Fountain Restaurant for breakfast. We had eggs, American fries, ham, (bacon for Bill) and homemade wheat toast with homemade strawberry jam. So delicious! It was four miles from Blanchard. We went to Blanchard after that and went into a quilt shop and also a second hand shop. I picked up a cute book for Brittany’s baby shower. Bill bought a digital camera he and Wes thought was great. Got it for $7. We got to the Shack and found out the owner, Jeanette, (the wife who was 84) passed away in August. She cut all of the bananas for the banana splits each night. We poured the water and filled the topping containers next to her when we were there. One night there were over 177 in line. She was so nice and I’m so happy she knows Jesus. Sad without her here. Haven’t seen her husband who is 88. He is missing her and turned the ice cream scooping over to someone else for a while. No he is scooping the ice cream again.
We loved our beautiful room! We reserved it last year because we liked it so much. Charlie and Sue got here an hour after we did. We went for a walk down the hallway and looked in all the rooms before all the other guests get here. Such nice rooms. Some have red heart shaped hot tubs in them. Ate meatloaf, chicken, mashed potatoes and Bess for dinner. Played Skip Bo until time for or banana splits. I won the first game, Sue won the second, and Bill one the third. Bill and I went to ask Marv if he needed us to help with waters and coffee. He didn’t. We told him we were sorry about his wife passing and he gave us some advice. Do what you want to do now. He and his wife had day trips planned for next summer but he wishes the would have done them last summer. His wife could only do day trips. Our banana splits were delicious. Marc’s granddaughter and her boyfriend scooped ice cream and cut the bananas.
