Panorama of our Faith Rider's Christmas Party
Made a cheesy potatoes and banana pudding dessert for our Christmas Party for Faith Riders tonight. Went to Isaac's first basketball game. Vikki was able to leave her bazaar to come see him play which was so nice. Misty and her mom covered for her. Rody's mom, Aunt Ann and Vershon were there too. It was fun to watch both teams play. The other team was really good and made lots of baskets. Isaac's team is a little more inexperienced, but played pretty good. No points this time. The coach asked Rody to be the assistant coach so that was nice. Vikki, and both of us grandmas decided we would coach him too....keep your eye on the ball, go after the ball, etc. ha ha! Isaac really needs to just know how you play the game and he's going to do fine.
Went to pick up Melissa's laundry and got some great hugs from the boys. Evan even was first!!!
I went upstairs to say hi to Hailey, and we decided to go to Taco Bell for lunch. We had a nice time and a good talk. I took her home and picked Max up. He was in his snowsuit playing in the snow and working on a fort. I took him to Tim Horton's for a birthday donut. He picked out a Boston Cream Donut and orange pop. We ate our donuts and had a good talk too. Love going out with my grandkids and spending time with them. Came home and helped Bill unload wood pellets. The guy that is working on our garage pillars, Mike, helped us unload too. We went to our Christmas Party at the Fire station and had a great time. The food was delicious and afterward we had Christmas Story readings from the Bible that a lot of us took turns reading. Elaine had printed sheets up and had our name by what we were to read.
Then she sang a song, and Fran sang a song. The rest of the time, after a reading we would all sing a Christmas song that went well with the scripture. It was so meaningful and so special.
We raised $340 for Mike who is doing some jobs for Bill. His wife had two strokes and six months ago, their daughter got married and the next day she died. They are having a hard time dealing with it and they are sad because they don't have enough money for a tombstone for her grave. Bill called them and they came to the party and Bill presented the gift of money to them. They were in tears. When they walked in they were carrying a dog who looked just like Mocha.
Cheryl packed up some food for them to take with them and everyone was so nice to them. He went to school with Bill and Jackie Mallory at Community Baptist. We watched a Hallmark Movie when we got home. We also raised $250 for Run for the Son at the party. Wonderful Missions to give to. What a blessing!
