Peyton on the rail trail
Isaac on the rail trail

Kimmy sewed the big holes in the trampoline.  It looks great.  Thanks Kimmy

We had a good game of kick ball today.  Kimmy, Vikki, Peyton, Isaac and I were against Kenzie, Eli, Jacob and Adam.

The team was in a huddle!!!

Kenzie on her phone and eating rollup tostito chips.
Slept in until 8.  Got up, got ready and made a coffee to have with my cheerios with blueberries and bananas.  Then I sat outside on the swing and read my Bible.  Had to come in and put a sweatshirt on and put a blanket over me because it was cool out.  Mocha sat on the swing with me.  After that, I talked to Vikki and we decided to walk the Rail Trail.  Kimmy called to see if I would be home so she could come today instead of tomorrow because Jared has tomorrow off.  After we walked, I went to the bank and by the time I got home Kimmy and the boys were there.  Vikki and the kids came over too.  Kenzie took Papa and treated him to Culver's for lunch.  Such a sweet granddaughter.  I think it's my turn next, right Kenzie.  When I got home, Kimmy was sewing the holes in the net around the trampoline.  She did such a great job and it looks so nice now.  Thanks Kimmy.  Then we patched the screen in our camper.  After that we watched a video on how to take it down the right way.  We took it down and it went well.  Dad came out to help us.  Vikki had been watching the kids and playing kick ball.  Adam got a black eye when he and Jacob were on the trampoline and knocked into each other.  Poor Adam.  When Kimmy and I were done we all played Kick Ball.  Kimmy, Vikki, Peyton, Isaac, and I were on one side and Kenzie, Adam, Jacob and Eli were on there other side.  We had so much fun and got lots of exercise.  Bill decided to kick the ball instead of the kids kicking it and he kicked it hard alright.  It went into the woods where the poison ivy is.  I wasn't getting it and neither was Kimmy because we just had poison ivy and don't want it again.  Bill got it and then I told him to was his hands with soap and water and I washed the ball with soap and water.  Needless to say the game was over.  So fun to be able to play games like this with the kids now.  It will be real fun when we play with Melissa and her kiddos.

Peyton and Isaac sitting like Nana.  Love it when they do this.  Isaac is so funny!

Isaac and Peyton with their family!

Isaac and Peyton with their cattails.

When I left this morning there were two fire trucks and a rescue true at our neighbor's driveway next to us this morning at 10:15 am.  Now tonight, they are back at their driveway again.  About a dozen firemen were there.

Then they moved to our other neighbors driveway on the other side of us.

Walked two miles at Sports Zone this morning.  Came home and cut my dessert for the memorial service for Duane Kasper at church.  Got ready and left so I would get there early in case they needed help setting up.  There were two fire trucks and a rescue truck in front our our neighbor with the gate's driveway.  Couldn't see why they were there.  Lots of firemen were out of the truck and in the driveway,  When I got to church the parking lot was full and the church was packed.  I had signed up for clean up afterwards.  They didn't need more help before because they had plenty of volunteers so that was good.  The service was amazing.  Duane had set it up with Pastor Jeff and picked out the songs and what he wanted in the message.  He wanted Jesus proclaimed to everyone.  Pastor Jeff did an amazing job.  He was a long time friend of Duane's.   Joanne and Steve from horse therapy were there so I was happy to see them and get to talk to them.  They let Kimmy keep Sam at their house when she first got him.  Didn't charge anything either.  For Kimmy's wedding she made them a beautiful rug out of spun wool.  Visited with some people and then headed to the kitchen to help.  There was extra food so we got to eat before we started cleaning up.  Had fun working with everyone and clean up went fast.  Afterwards, Phyllis and I went to visit Ruth Kish.  She just turned 99 on June 30 and the day before her birthday she fell land broke 3 bones in her leg.  She was the same age as my dad.  She was in the hospital, but they moved her to Healthsource for rehab.  We went there and they sent us to her room, but the bed was stripped and she wasn't there.  We asked and after checking a while they told us she was moved to Covenant Harrison.  We went and saw her and she was pretty tired out.  We said high and she said hi and then she quoted Psalm 23 to us word for word.  She is a very faithful witness for the Lord.  When I got home, Hailey called me and then face timed me to play a song for me on her instrument she is taking to band camp.  She played it so nicely.  She just learned it today.  I think it was Nothing But the Blood of Jesus.....will have to check on the title again ha ha.  Vikki called and she, Peyton and Isaac came over.  I decided to make spaghetti real quick so they could eat with us.  Afterward, we went outside and looked at the garden and then went and sat in the camper for a while.  The kids were really good at throwing frisbees.  Isaac could really throw it far.  When they left, the fire trucks were back in front of the neighbors driveway again.  Then a while later they moved to our other neighbor's driveway.  I was nosey so sat out on the porch to see if I could hear them talking, but the fire truck was running and was too noisy.

Eli wanted his picture taken with this bowl on his head.

This is Abby before Kimmy groomed her.

Abby after Kimmy groomed her.  She does such a great job.  Doesn't Abby look cute?
Adam, Eli and Jacob

Fern  (Kimmy and Jared's new lamb)

Kimmy gave me a good lesson on the spinning wheel.  I am finally catching on to the top part.  Just have to put the pedal with it now.

Isn't Norman cute....he posed for me when I took his picture!

This is Norman's other pose.  He sure was funny

Nana, Eli and Abby.  I stooped down to be Eli's size for the picture and then he stooped down to be Abby's size.  Ha Ha

Went to our Tuesday breakfast.  Afterwards, I stopped at Melissa's and picked Abby up to take to Kimmy's so she could groom her.  She was pretty shaggy and matted.  Kimmy gave her the tranquilizer to calm her down during the hair cut and when it started working she cut her.  Abby was so calm she didn't even want to stand up.  She was very good during the hair cut.  You can see by the picture above that Kimmy did a great job  Abby looks so cute now.  Melissa sure was happy to have that done for summer.  I know I was happy when she did Mocha for me.  Kimmy and I had our coffee and she had made egg salad up so I had a yummy sandwich.  Thanks Kimmy.  After Abby was done, we walked outside to look at her strawberries and raspberries.  They look so good.  They are in beds that Jared made.  Then we went and saw the new lamb and other sheep.  It is so cute and very friendly.  The boys played good with their legos and were so cute.  They sure are good about letting me take their pictures.  So was Norman ha ha.  We also had water melon that Kimmy had cut up.  She taught me more about how to spin wool into yarn.  I did better this time.  Thanks for the lesson Kimmy.  You are a great teacher.  Then we sat out on the deck for a while on grandma and grandpa's glider.  Such a fun day.  On my way home, it started raining pretty hard so I came home Saginaw Rd. instead of the X-press way.  About a mile down Saginaw Rd. after turning off from Stark Rd. a deer ran out in front of me.  I missed it by about a foot.  Thank You Lord!  I always pray for God to protect me from deer and he sure has.  I have had some pretty close calls but never hit one.   One time about six surrounded my car and I still made it without hitting one of them.  I know God got me out of that one!  No other explanation.

Fran, Melissa and Aunt Vikki
Did a load of laundry and went to the Sports Zone to walk 2 miles,  then went to Melissa's to meet Vikki Eddy and her Mom there.  She was dropping off some deck paint for Kimmy and Jared.  I was happy to see her mom and also to see Vikki twice in three days.  Melissa had her house looking so nice.  She also had a yummy blueberry dessert for us.  Vikki and her mom had just had something at Panera's so Melissa and I ate our piece later.  She sent some home for her dad too which was sweet.  He loved it.  She showed us the camper where it cracked and Bruce was working on it.  Sure am praying for God's wisdom for Bruce and that it turns out great.  Here they were trying to take such good care of it and putting a tarp over it and that's what caused the problem.  Praying for God's provision too.  After I left there, I walked through Salvation Army until Vikki was ready to meet me at the rail trail and walk with me.  We walked 2 miles.  Came home and was going to have Bill start the tiller so I could till the garden.  He did it for me though so that was very nice.  Everything is growing nicely including the weeds.  Bill had and elder's meeting and at the same time Faith Riders were showing the movie Courageous at the Rescue Mission.  I went there and took two big cooler jugs of lemonade.  Gayla brought 50 bags of popcorn.  28 guys came and they were very happy to have the snacks and drinks.  Wes decided to have intermission and after that only 14 came back.  They all want us to have another movie night.  One of the guys came up to me and thanked me and said, "that was a good message, I got the message".  Such a blessing to see God touch hearts like that.  Wes, Gayla, Brian, Ed, Tom, Bob and I all showed up to help.  We all cleaned up afterwards.  Walked 17,600 steps today.

We went to church.  Melissa and her family and Vikki and her family were there too.  We got out earlier than usual.  Came home and let Mocha out, changed clothes and headed to Shields.  We set up the stuff in the booth.  Fran and Gordy came over to see us.  Sue, Troy and Nathan came to see us  too.  Then Greg came and then Wes, Gayla and Joel.  Had fun visiting.  Gave one of my dangles to the girl at the booth a couple down from ours.  She was really sweet and sold makeup.  She also sold cookies that were delicious.  When I gave her the dangle she gave me a big hug.   Talked to Vikki and she, Peyton and Isaac came to visit too.  We were so happy to have them there.  The kids sure had fun with the balloons.  They were so well behaved and fun to have around.  Came home and watched a movie called the Prodigal Son which was very good.

6/27/15

We walked in the Shield's Parade for Faith Riders today, handing out water bottles and candy.  It was amazing how many kids and adults asked for water bottles.

Honoring Bill today and thanking him for serving at the Warrior Appreciation Rally.
Bill with Ken Horn in Frankenmuth.

This couple have been married 70 years.  They are dancing a waltz in their wheel chairs.  The looks on their faces  were so sweet.

Good turn out for the Warrior Appreciation Rally.

Fife and Bugle Corp

They had many people serving food.  Had hamburgs, hotdogs, chips, cheetos, cookies, and strawberry shortcake.

We went to the carnival in shields and set up the stuff for the booth.  Then we headed to TSC to park so we could walk to where the parade started.  Joanna, Bob, Chuck, Bill Smith, Luis, Bill and I walked to meet Wes who was riding the motorcycle and carrying water bottles for us to pass out..  The parade moved fast so we had to almost run the whole thing to keep up. I was so happy when we turned the corner from River Rd. to Gratiot.  Started looking for the kids and grandkids.  Didn't see them for a ways and thought maybe they changed their minds because of the rain and didn't come.  Loved it when I saw them and could give them candy.  So blessed that they were there.  Bill and I didn't quite finish because we wanted had to go to Frankenmuth.  We also wanted to see if we could find the kids.  We did find Vikki and family but not Melissa.  Ended up passing Melissa though.  We got out to Frankenmuth for the Warrior Appreciation Rally.  It was so nice and there was such a good turn out.  Got to thank many for their service to our country.  They had lots of food and strawberry shortcake for dessert.  We spent a couple of hours there.  They had a good band that sang some oldies and also some nice songs about God.
So nice that they do this every year.
