9/12/15

We ate breakfast at Bringer Inn, then when we went to leave we had to wipe our bikes off because it rained.

Waiting for our instructions to block intersections to help police for the motorcycle parade

Lots of people and bikes even in the rain

Tons of motorcycles

Dad and I blocking this side of the road and Wes and Gayla blocking the other side of the road

I had 5 layers and a vest on....

Getting off our bikes and getting ready to go through town

Love this picture of Greg and Bill

Bikes on the Bricks

Head to Bringer Inn at 7:30.  Stopped at Kroger to get grass and saw Bill Smith there.  Sabrina came shortly after.  We waited for them and then on our way we got caught in the rain.  Bill and I, Wes and Gayla, Sabrina and Bill, Chaplain Bob, Greg, Don and Diane, Brian and Luis all ate breakfast.  Katelyn and Rocco came when we were leaving and rode with us.  We stopped shortly after leaving Bringer Inn to put our rain suits on.  It misted all the way to Flint and didn't stop until the parade started.  Pretty nice ride but pretty cool day, in the 50's.  When we got to our corner to block the police motorcycle pulled in ahead of us and then when we followed he took off.  We had to wear bright orange security vests.  Once all the other regular riders went through, an ambulance came and would slow down so we could pull out in front of it.  Pretty well organized.  People were standing out all along the way waving.  When we got to town we walked around, ate, watched the police do the bike challenges, and helped out at the CMA booth.  We left around 3:30 pm and were going to go to Tony's in Birch Run but they had a super huge line up.  We went to Big Boy instead.  Bill had breakfast and I had a Slim Jim.  This is the last day for it to be a Big Boy.  Tomorrow the restaurant becomes Leo's.  It was nice and sunny on the way homeI was happy to get home and crawl under my blanket.  We are going to put our electric blanket on tonight.

9/11/15

Chuck, Sue and Bill.  The Market was closed for private use.  Boo Hoo

They were honoring these officers who died in the line of duty.  The one on the far left was on his motorcycle on I-75 when he was it by a car hauling a trailer.  He was dragged 4 miles.  He was a Christian and was a youth leader at his church who touched many lives.  He had a wife and 4 children.  Their babysitter set up a go fund me account and have raised over 150,000.  They were honoring these officers and having other officers sign a frame for a picture.

Bill and I.  The police are riding an obstacle course behind us.  Tomorrow we will be helping pick up the cones if they knock one down.

Chuck, Sue and Bill at Mega Diner. We ordered yummy shakes and malts and they were huge.

An Egret flying at us on our tour of the Shiawassee flats

Tons of ducks

These huge fish (we think they were pike) would be floating on the top and then stick their heads up.  Mostly you just saw their backs like in the picture.  There were lots of them.

Loved seeing this beautiful swan.  Such a nice ride through here.
We left at 10 to go with Chuck and Sue to go to the RV show in Birch Run.  They didn't open till 11 so we went to Meijers for their $1.00 donut and coffee deal.  No tables so we sat in the truck to eat them.  Went back to the RV show.  So nice walking through all the RV's.  Some were amazing.  Very happy with the one we have that is paid for though.  We went to Bikes on the Bricks after that and walked around.  Saw some of our CMA friends that had been at the State Rally.  Also saw Chris who was in Trinity Riders with us and does the commercials for Security Credit Union.  We left there and went to Mega Diner to eat.  The guys wanted coney dogs and they had a two for one special.  Their food and shakes were delicious.  Had a picture of a long table set and an invitation to Believe in Jesus.  It was so cool to see it in there.  On our way home we decided to take the 7 mile tour through the Shiawassee Flats.  It was just beautiful and so enjoyable.

9/10/15

Isaac had fun with legos. Norman was a good doggie and just watched

Peyton eating her snack

Very happy when the boys got home.  Took this pic of Eli with  his kitten

Started getting ready to go to Kimmy's.  Melissa called and their was a big circle spider web and  a spider in her van.  She didn't want it in there when she had to go pick up the kids so called me to get it.   I went and took care of it for her.  On my way there I talked to Kimmy and she said Vikki was going to ride with me to her house.  I had asked her but didn't hear her answer.  I headed her way and she called me and said she would go.  We went on the expressway and had to take a detour. Got to Kimmy's and had a good visit and coffee.  We watched Gifted Hands, a story about Ben Carson.  Great movie.  Then we watched clips about his running for president.  Walked to get the boys when they got off the bus.  I was excited to see them and they were excited to see us.  Loved hearing about their day at school.  We drove home the expressway and got caught in a traffic jam. There was an overturned beer truck.   They had to unload it all before they could put it back upright.  Got home just in time to get ready quick and ride with Bill on the motorcycle to Sullivan's for our meeting.  Bill did a great job leading it and we were excited to have 5 new people there.  Two of them said they wanted to get their colors.

Hailey's volleyball game!

Papa and Hailey

Called Vikki and met at the rail trail to walk. The kids brought their scooters to use.  They did ok, but still need to learn how to steer a little better. Vikki did lots of scooter pushing.  We only went a mile but still had fun.  I went to her house afterwards to pick up Mocha and her stuff.  Visited for a while and played with floam with the kids.  Got to see Rody which was nice.  Came home for a while and did laundry and dishes.  Then went to Bethlehem for Hailey's Volleyball game against Peace.  They lost but it was fun watching them play and eating snacks.  Jack came with Melissa.  I should have taken a picture of him.  After we left we went to Taco Bell and TSC.  Came home and watched the news.  Worked on balancing the checkbook and watched the movie Gifted Hands again.  Very good movie.  So happy to have a godly, smart caring man running for the Republican Nomination.

9/8/15...Fun day celebrating our 42nd anniversary!

Dad went to bed a few minutes before I did and when I walked out to the kitchen this is what I found on the cupboard.  So sweet in more ways than one.

Then today I came into the living room and there were packages and a card in the chair.  These silicone things to set hot stuff on, this beautiful diamond bracelet and a chopper for chopping veggies fast.  I sure am blessed.

This is what my beautiful diamond bracelet looks like up close.  If a diamond gets lost they will replace it even when it is passed to someone when I die

These are what the silicone hot pads look like folded

Isaac and Peyton openig gifts at Culvers

It was raining and the wind had stopped so they could use their umbrellas.   They were so cute and happy

Nana, Isaac, Peyton, Bill and Kenzie

This pig was plain white and Kenzie did the art work on it with permanent markers.  She did such a beautiful job.  What an artist

Now Pey Pey gets to put all of her change in it.  Yikes

Dad got me this hilarious card.  It is so us!  Had a good laugh

Outdoor Adventires in Mt. Pleasant

Lots of nice pull through spots with 90 spots having full hook up

Cement slabs for picnic tables and nice big grassy spots.  Firepits that can't be moved

They have done so much work in such a short time.  Can't wait till they put the pool in so we can camp here.  It's open already

This playground is pretty cool.  Our grandkids will love it

Nice rising spot for them too

Fireplace in the Casino Hotel
Went to breakfast this morning.  Afterward I met Vikki at Walmart and got umbrellas for Peyton and Isaac.  There was only one boy's one left.  We went to Tim Horton's after that and when we left we got Melissa a Mocha.  Wish Kimmy lived closer because we would have gotten her one too.  We visited with Melissa and Evan for a while..  Prayed for her because she has a cold.  Evan was so cute and sharing.  He gave me a cute decorated bag to take home.  Gave Aunt Vikki one too.  Came home and unpacked the camper.  Kenzie came over for Papa to look at her car.  She decorated Peyton's pig for me and it's beautiful.  I called and they could get her car in so we drove over to the Muffler Man.  While they worked on it we went to Culver's.  Vikki and the kids met us there.  It started pouring and the wind was terrible while we were there.  The kids opened their presents and were excited about their umbrellas. We had concrete mixers and fries.  When we left they could use their umbrellas because the wind had died down. So much fun watching them.  We headed back to Muffler man and got caught in a downpour.  Could hardly see and went through big puddles.  After that we came home and put dry clothes on.  Decided to head to Mt. Pleasant to check out the campground because we had got an email saying it was open.  It is beautiful.  We went to the casino to eat (we get $10) off on a meal and can get free ice tea in the casino and take it in the restaurant so its pretty cheap.  We had breakfast because we weren't too  hungry after Culver's.  We also reserved rooms for this month and next.  Dad puts it off if he has to do it by phone.  We came home and watched the news.

9/7/15. Time to go home

We stopped over to see Peyton and Isaac and take them their birthday presents.  Nice seeing Vikki too of course.  We had yummy cake and ice cream too.
Vikki put this cute picture on of their new blankets.  They look pretty comfy and wanted to sleep in this all night like Kenzie did last night.

We are going to miss this beautiful place that we love coming to.

Getting ready to drive our camper home.  Bill is going on the motorcycle ahead of me.  Wes and Gayla left a little earlier.  Faith Riders cleaned up the campground after most of the people left.  We picked up papers, vacuumed in the family center, emptied all the garbages and turned the garbage cans upside down, and picked up extension cords that we had to borrow from Bay Shore to run electricity to campers in the parking lots.  Such a fun stay even though we were the host chapter and  had work to do.  Bill and Wes really did a great job getting people into dry spots no matter how late they came in.  I'm always sad to leave this place, but happy to get home to see family.  We ran into a few sprinkles when we were almost home.  It was looking pretty dark out so we were happy to make it home and not have it pouring.  We grilled burgers and then got ready to go to Vikki's to see our birthday twins.  They were so cute.  We gave them their presents and then had to leave to meet Bill and Sabrina at the new movie theatre to see War Room.  Phyllis and Andy walked in the door so we asked them to sit by us too.  It was such a good movie.  God is moving in our nation.  All the previews we saw were about the Lord too.  Praising God for this.
