Our handsome grandson Eli has band camp this week and is having fun even if it is hard work. I can’t wait to see him in the marching band

The zinnias Kimmy started and gave me are so pretty

Some more pictures of Peyton and Isaac and their Youth Group friends and leaders during Serve Week.  They sure had fun and sure worked hard.  They had Bible studies too.

Isaac making a basket

Slept in my recliner until 6:15 this morning so my hand would be elevated.  Then I went to bed for the next three hours and slept really good.  No swelling in my hand and I didn’t need any pain med after 2:15 p.m.   I can use my fingers which is nice!  Bill went and got some groceries for me after he read his Bible.  I sat outside on the deck and read my Bible and prayed.  I gave Kit Kat some attention too.  I relaxed for a half hour, then Bill grilled chicken, I made air roasted potatoes, and we also had peas.  I dipped mine in Maple Grill sauce and they were yummy.  Bill cleaned up the grill and the kitchen for me.  He’s being so sweet and helping Mme so much.  All of the girls are checking on me too.  Evan tested negative for Covid today so that was good.

I hunted for a 6th grade picture of Max.  Bill helped me and we found the tub with the frames but no pictures.  I found the pictures in manilla envelopes.  It was so much fun looking at all the grandkids pictures from little up.  It brought tears to my eyes.  I sure love all of those grandkids.  I got a really nice card from my friend Vikki today.  My sister, Brenda texted me and said they are coming to Max’s party. That makes me happy!

Tues., 8/6/24 Up at 4;30 a.m., surgery at 7;15 a.m., in recovery by 8;15 and left for home at 9;15, goy food from Tim Hortons, rained hard on the drive home.

Only two pictures I have from today and Bill took them.  He wanted to send them to the girls he said.

We were up and at em early this morning so we could make it to U OF M
OUTPATIENT at 6;15.  It was raining out and dark out, but Bill got us there and to the right entrance 10 minutes early.  They took us back before we could even sit down.
They did all the pre-surgery stuff in the room and gave me a nerve block in my arm. I watched the ultra sound the Anesthesiologist used to direct the other two Anesthesiologists
where to inject the blockers.  They told me I would be awake for the surgery and would hear voices.  Also said to let them know if I felt pain during the surgery. I didn’t hear anything or feel anything. I was happy about that.  I ate graham crackers and drank apple juice, then left for home. I texted the girls to let them know all went well and we were on our way home. I was very thankful for their prayers and all the prayers from church family on the prayer page.  Vikki called me to check on me. We stopped at Tim Hortons and got bagels, a donut and coffee for Bill and an ice capp for me. It rained most of the way home.  It stopped when we got close to home.  We had 3 inches in our rain gauge though.  when we got home I got out of the car and my arm fell out of the sling.  I still didn’t have any feeling in it so it felt like a heavy log to me.   It was so weird.  That happened a couple of times to me.  Kimmy called me to see how I was. We talked and FaceTimed a long time, then I FaceTimed with Melissa, Vikki, and Kenzie too.   Around 4, feeling came back in my arm and hand, so I was able to take the sling off.  I could raise my arm up myself and put it on a pillow to elevate it. my hand is in a splint until August 19th when they take it off.  I got lots of messages checking on how I was.  I talked to Sue, Wes, Gayla, my sister Brenda, Debbie, and my BFF Vikki. Bill too good care of me all day and picked up Popeye’s chicken tenders for dinner. there is so much I can’t do without my right hand.  I am so thankful to God that my surgery went great1  He answered all those prayers and gets all the Glory.  He has blessed me with such a caring family and such caring friends.

Monday, 8/5/24, Sue called early, Went out and hoed the weedy garden, I picked up all the weeds I threw in the bucket and also in piles around the garden, picked up dial antibiotic soap and a Covid test, packed and headed to our hotel close to U of M, Posted a prayer request for my surgery on our church prayer page, Got to our hotel, went to dinner at Texas Roadhouse right down from us a little ways, came back and relaxed in our hotel.

Garden all weeded before my surgery tomorrow

Lots of zinnias blossoming

Hibiscus is just loaded with blossoms every day

Our hotel room was so peaceful and very clean

I went out early to Joe the garden.  It was 72 outside nice weather.  How can so many weeds grow in a week????  I hoed out the   eMaimed at roots and then picked up the weeds and threw them in a big tub.  I did all around the inside of the garden and down most of the rows.  I had to redirect the watermelon plants.  If they touch the electric fence, they ground it and bunny can get in without a shock.  By the time I went in the house 3 1/2 hours had passed by.  I was so tired and thirsty that all I wanted to do was lay in my recliner and drink my ice water.  Sure felt good. I had the fan aimed at me too.  After I rested for a while, I took my shower, then packed for our hotel stay.

Bill went to pay bills, then came home and picked up my weeds and pulled the last weeds out. The garden looks great.

I did laundry, put what came from the camper back in the camper.  Evan called me and said I’m your favorite right nana, then said thank you and hung up.  They must have been playing the phone game.  I texted all three kids that they were all my favorites.  All my grandkids are my favorites!!!

Bill mowed the grass and I went to get the dial soap I need to shower with in the morning before my surgery. I also got two Covid tests.  I did one and I was negative. So thankful!

We packed the last minute things and headed to Ann Arbor.  We are staying at the Hilton Honors Hotel and it is so nice.

We went to the Texas Roadhouse for dinner. So yummy!

Came back and relaxed.  Going to bed early as I have to get up at 4:45

Sunday, 8/4/24, Watched online New Life Church service, made eggs, bacon, potatoes and toast for brunch, Kenzie FaceTimed me, cleaned house, went to Jacob’s concert

Kenzie FaceTimed me and let me talk to Rehvyn.  He was so cute and had us laughing.  He put his pacifier in his right hand flat on the couch then put his mouth down on it and popped it in. That was our first laugh.   Then I was telling him goodbye and waving and he was in the position in this picture and rolled on his right side and waved at me with his left hand.  It was just so cute and funny at the same time.

Jacob playing with the Eddy Band

Me, Kimmy and Jared at the concert

Bill took this picture.  I sure would like to know what they are laughing about.

I checked the jelly feeder and not much jelly was gone.  Usually is it totally empty.  Maybe our Orioles left while we were gone for the week. We watched our church service online.  It was on prayer and was so good.  We took communion when they did and used our wooden communion cups we got at the Jesus Experience in Florida when we took communion there.  I made eggs, bacon, potatoes, and toast for our Brunch.

At two, Bill went to pick Max up and spend the day with him.  I cleaned the downstairs, except I will scrub the floor tomorrow.  I will also clean the upstairs tomorrow.  I hopefully can get up early and weed the garden by the plants and Bill can till between the rows.  Trying to get everything done before I have surgery Tuesday morning for Dupreyton’s Contracture on my right hand.  For a while I will be using my left hand which I am not too coordinated at.

Kenzie FaceTimed me which I wrote about under the picture above.  It was such a fun time with both of them.

In the evening, Bill and I went to Jacob’s last summer Eddy band concert.  Kimmy and Jared sat next to us but we left more space between us than usual because of being exposed to Covid.  Jacob came heading at us to give us big hugs, but we had to stop him.  I sure will make up for that big hug when we are over being careful.  There was a new conductor tonight from Saginaw Valley.  The band played great, but I didn’t like this concert as much as the rest I have been at.

When we got home, we had ice cream with chocolate chips, chocolate, and cashews on it.  It sure tasted good.  Bill asked me to put another scoop of ice cream on his.

I talked to Melissa and texted with Adam.  Talked to Vikki a couple of times today.  The kids were feeling better today.

Sat. 8/3/24, Melissa called and said Evan tested positive for Covid. Then Vikki texted and said Isaac tested positive too. Later Peyton tested positive also. Yikes! Bill went to help at a booth the Marine Corp League had at the car show in Merrill.

Kimmy accidentally included some Creeping Charlie with the plants she gave me.  It sure did creep all over the place the week we were gone.  Yikes!  I
Marine Corp. League Bill worked at
This Hibiscus is one of my favorite plants
Zinnias are starting to bloom in the garden by the corn. I love Zinnias too!
My Hibiscus has blossoms all over it and lots more to open. Love it too!
Our Limelight Hydrangea has so many blossoms too.  I guess I love all my plants

Vikki was a blessing and had Evan come stay with them so it might keep Melissa from getting it.  I emptied the refrigerator and freezer, and brought everything that needed to come inside in.  I filled the feeders for the birds.  I checked the pool and it was nice and clear!!!!  I also gave Kit Kat some attention.  I returned my Chaco sandals from Amazon to Kohls.  I filled up my gas tank at Sam’s Club too.  The price was 3.45. I worked on some blogs, walked outside and looked at the gardens.  Veggie garden needs weeding.  Flower garden did great with Preen on it. Only a couple really tiny weeds.  I talked to Kimmy and she was time she had to pull out lots of Creeping Charlie.  She wanted to know if I had any in your garden.  I took her out and FaceTimed with her and Creeping Charlie has overtaken much of my garden too.  The yarrow blossoms are turning brown, so will get cut down as soon as soon as it cools down outside.

We went to Souper cafe for dinner. Bill had an egg salad sandwich and I had a turkey and Swiss.  I talk to Vikki all the way home.  She showed me their the dyed shirts.

I pulled all the Creeping Charlie out of the garden and cut down the Yarrow plant.

Goodbye Creeping Charlie...Took al of this and put it in the yard waste trash can.

It was a fun day at BayShore.  Classes were amazing again!  We will have to stream the classes we didn’t get to go in from the app when we get home.  I took Hailey to Taco Bell to pick up lunch for her.  The rest of us ate left over pizza.  Pauls mom came for a visit, and then Wes and Gayla came.  After Paul’s mom, Barb, left, Wes, Gayla, Bill and I played golf.  I was nervous on the first hole because of Jack getting stung yesterday.  I got the best score I’ve ever gotten and won.  We went to tie dye shirts at 4 and Gayla went for a swim.  They let Hailey make one even though she wasn’t signed up because 8 people who signed up couldn’t do it.  After that, we took Hailey;s tent down and ate dinner.

We packed up the motorhome, and Bill dumped it, then parked it so it’s ready for me to just pull staring out.  He got his motorcycle and put it next to it.  Then we went to the evening service.  Worship was just so good again and so was the message.  Lots of notes to go home and study from  this week. We saw Becky and Dave as we were coming out of the bathroom and said goodbye to them.  They are so sweet and invited us to come up and visit any time.  They live in Petosky and have had us spend the night a couple of times.  Very hospitable people and great friends.  We left after that, and got to drive mostly in the light of day.  Got a little dark right as we got home, but not bad yet.  Vikki and the kids came after they got out of Impact, and picked up all of their stuff out of the camper and got her car.  Hailey and Evan got home around the same time.  Melissa called to say Evan had a sore throat and Isaac had told Evan he did too.  We are praying!
