9/28/16...Kimmy to the Rescue....thanks Kimmy

Made strawberry freezer jam today!

Turkeys strolling through by the garden behind the shed.  Only got the last two.  They were nice ones.  Turkey fever!  I thought of my dad and how excited he was when he saw turkeys!  He would call me and tell me about it.  Sure do miss him.

Bill, Eli, Adam and Jacob.  The boys were really interested in the television Bill was trying to fix and had the back off.  Almost looks like a sheep in the front of the picture.  We put that on our motorcycle seat when it's cold out.

Eli looking so cute.  He had a doctor appt. today

Adam relaxing on the trampoline

Cutie Adam!

Cutie Jacob reading his book

Aam, Jacob, and Eli getting ready to go home.

Went to Sportszone and walked 3 miles.   Bill was playing cards by the time I got there.  He and Charlie were pretty happy they were winning.  Pastor Schultz was there walking so I talked to him for a while.  Went to Pat's to get probiotic yogurt to take with the antibiotic I am taking for the root canal I am having done on Monday.  Came home and got jars washed for making jam.
Got the strawberries ready and started making the jam.  Kimmy called and asked if I was going to be home so her and the boys could come over.  I was excited and told her yes and to come.  I finished the batch of jam I was making and got it into jars.  Started another batch and when Kimmy got there she offered to help me.  Well help me she did.  I realized I had used 4 cups of strawberries instead of 2 like I was supposed to.  Jacob and I ran to the store to get 2 more boxes of sure jell.  I decided to get more sugar while I was there.  Wasn't going to but changed my mind.  Got back to the house and Kimmy mentioned if I needed more sure jell than I needed more sugar.  Was I ever glad I had picked it up.  We emptied the jars already filled and added the sugar and sure jell to it and then redid both batches.  Looks like it turned out really good!  THANK YOU KIMMY!  Kimmy cut the hair on Mocha's face.  She looks so cute now.  Thanks Kimmy.  The boys sure like seeing the TV Bill was working on.  They thought it was neat to see the inside of it.   Bill mowed the grass.  The yard looks great now!  Vikki was still sick today with a cold.  Praying for her.  I taught my class at church.  Nice to have Peyton and Isaac there.  Missed Evan tonight!

9/27/16....Busy and fun day

Picked Kale and put it in the dehydrator

Squash baking in the oven

Made vegetable soup

Cut up Kalarabi

Went to Hailey's volleyball game

Hailey is a great server

Bill and Hailey after her game

Went to our breakfast and then stopped at Melissa's afterward for a little visit.  Her carpet looked amazing after she shampooed it.  After I left there I went and visited my friend Lila who is 97.
She moved into a new assisted living place which is beautiful.  She was hard of hearing so I had to talk into her good ear for her to hear me.  She was so sweet.  I prayed with her before I left!
Isaac called me and told me he had a Tomato drill at school.  Had to laugh.  Of course Peyton corrected him and told him it was a Tornado drill.  Such cute kiddos.  Went to Meijer's for some groceries and then came home and picked kale and dehydrated it, made veggie soup, cooked yummy squash, cut up kalarabi.  So thankful for garden stuff.  Bill and I went to Hailey's volleyball game.
Bruce was their so we sat with him.  Celeste wasn't playing, so she came to sit by me.  After the game, I went and got my hug from Hailey and gave her a couple of dollars for a treat!  It's tradition!
After that, we headed to Mt. Morris to go to a CMA chapter meeting at Good News Riders.

9/26/16...picked the rest of the garden, sorted pears to can and worked on the newsletter for Faith Riders

Vikki sent me this cute picture of Peyton and Isaac at their desks.  Vikki just found the desk for Isaac today

She also sent me this picture of Melissa and Lenny.  Lenny had been sitting right on Melissa's lap in a sitting position
Bill went to the sports zone, then took Stacie's dad to the VA to help him with things.  I sorted pairs and started canning the few that were ripe.  I only got one jar after getting everything ready and that jar broke in the canner.  Big waste of time.  First time I ever had that happen.  Lesson learned is not to can them unless I have more to put in the canner.  I picked all the squash in the garden.  Got lots so will begin cooking that and putting it in the freezer.  Love squash!  Picked some kale to dehydrate and also picked some tomatoes and green peppers.  Garden is done now!  Going to be watching the debate later.

9/25/16...Went to church, to the Maple Grill and back to church!

Meeting to ride together

Stacie, DJ and Kody!  Fun time with this sweet family

We had a nice group of us!  Always love helping Veterans

We went to church!  It was an amazing worship service!  Good message!  Vikki, Rody, Peyton and Isaac were there and Stacie and Kody.  The kids went to their classes.  Peyton went joyfully and Isaac hesitated and was teary eyed.  He wanted to stay with his mommy and daddy.  He went though and didn't really cry.  Amanda said he was good once he was in the room.  After church we came home and changed and headed to the Maple Grill.  Bill stopped at Meijer's and saw our group from Faith Rider's there.  We stopped and saw them and then all rode together.  We had our cage and not the bike!  Boo Hoo!  Stacie saved us a table and we sat with her, DJ, Kody and Stacie's dad.  Kody was a very good boy.  Melissa called me and she said Evan learned to ride his bike without training wheels.  He just got his bike and took right off.  She put a video on and it is just amazing how he does.We left there and came home and looked over our stuff for care group.  Headed to church and had yummy healthy treats from Maryjane and Cary's care group.  Pastor talked with us for a while, then we worshipped, then we filled out a conflict questioner to help us see how we handle conflict right now, and then we got in our small group and discussed things and prayed.  Came home and brushed Mocha

The pool is closed now!

Wes being silly wearing his name tag on his forehead.  Liz watching.  She ended up with somebody's name tag on her back.  Wes was saying his wasn't sticking and then stuck it to his forehead.

Love these pictures from Kimmy's blog so I borrowed them!  Their fun trip to Copper Harbor!

Did laundry and hung it out it the morning.  Then got ready and went to Andy's Aunt Ida's Memorial service.  It was very nice.  We went to Sullivan's afterwards for the luncheon.  When we got out of the car, we were surprised to see Chris Turner and her mom right next to us.  It made my day.  We talked for a while in the parking lot.  She was taking her mom out for fish.  It was really busy inside.  They had a spider motorcycle group, and two funeral dinners in the back room where we were.  Some people had to wait for seating.  They also had a funeral dinner in the front half of the building.  They sure did overbook.  They did a good job serving and we had a nice time visiting with Nancy and Randy who sat with us.  We went to Stacie's after that and Bill helped her fill out some paperwork for the VA for her dad.  Kody was cute and so sweet.  They showed us their floor they are putting in their shed.  They had the heating coils for the floor put down.  It will be where DJ works on cars so it needs to be warm.  It's going to be very nice.  Got home and gathered some things to take to Vikki's for her to sell at her garage sale.  They just decided to do it at noon so I was amazed to see all they had gathered and set out.  Peyton and Isaac were cute.  They came running out for hugs and then helped carry some of the things I brought.  Could only stay for a minute as I had to get home for West and Gayla to pick us up at 4:30 to go to BayShore for a fundraiser.  It was a beautiful day for the ride there.  We had a very nice time there.  They had a coffee/tea bar set up where you could get cappuccinos, mocha's, frappes, smoothies, hot chocolate, and chai tea.  You could pick your flavorings you wanted in them and also had whipped cream.  You could get as many as you wanted.   The food and cake were delicious.

9/23/16....The motorcycle the lady donated is tuned up and ready...Bill rode it home

Bill after we picked the motorcycle up!

He loved riding it home

Nice country drive
Baby James is such a cutie

Cool and rainy today!  Vikki and I were going to go turn in our applications for working the election and decided we would walk the rail trail while we were there.  The rain changed our minds though.  We came back to my house and listened to worship music, visited and had warmed up roast, potatoes and carrots for lunch.  She tried blueberry pie for the first time too and said it was good.  Lenny came too and was a very well behaved doggie.  My sweet friend, Vikki, called me and we are planning a get together with the girls.  She sent me some pictures of her new grandson, James.  He's so happy and such a cutie.  Bill and I went and picked up the motorcycle that was donated for Run for the Son.  Bill drove it home while I followed.  We went to a movie with Chuck and Sue in the evening.  We saw Sully.  It was very good and an amazing true story.  Didn't like all  the swearing in it though.  I thought it wouldn't be too bad where it was rated PG-13.  Guess that doesn't mean a whole lot now days.  The previews for the upcoming movies were terrible.  No wonder our world is in the shape it is in.

9/22/16...Had to get a new microwave! Wes and Gayla came over for dinner and then we played cards

Made a blueberry pie right away so it would be done before I had to put the roast in the oven.  Used Kimmy's (Jared's mom's actually) pie crust recipe which is so easy and is delicious.  Peeled potatoes before I left to pick up applications for Vikki and I to work the elections  Met Vikki at Jack's and gave her hers.  We shopped and I got a roast, carrots, and potatoes to make for tonight and also some ice cream for the pie.  Got home and peeled carrots.  Set the table with Grandma Daisy's good china and her stainless steel silverware.  Bill and I had to go get a microwave.  Ours started running in the middle of the night the other night.  I almost was too tired to get up and see what the beeping was but I sure was glad I did.  Kimmy read up where microwaves can easily start fires when they do that.  It kept beeping and giving messages all the time too.  Really liked that microwave, but we did find one we liked and it had great reviews.  It's an infection so will have to study up on how to use it.  Wes and Gayla came at 5:30.  We ate and then played two games of    3-13.  I won both games. Wes was way ahead until right at the end when he got stuck with lots of points.  That game is never over until it is over.  We had fun playing cards and then we sat in the living room and visited for a while before they left.  They sure are special friends.  We are blessed that God gives us friends who are family in our hearts.
