11/27/18..Went to breakfast, Took Melissa to therapy, Went to Flint CMA chapter meeting

Love spending time with the Lord by the Christmas tree in the morning.  Went to breakfast at Sullivans.  Good time visiting with each other and praying together.  After breakfast, Bill and I went and picked up water from Shays.  Came home and started Melissa's laundry.  She had some washed that just needed drying, and some blankets and clothes that needed washing.  I went back to pick her up from therapy.  She was on the lokomat.  I went and talked to her in patient therapist, Shewale.  Told him she was very happy to have him on that Saturday on the lokomat.  He asked me why she fainted.  I told him she fainted once before on him and he knew what to do is why.  He laughed.
Bill and I went to the Flint CMA Chapter's meeting with Wes and Gayla.  Had a nice time.

Lots of school closings because of the snowstorm.  None of my grandkids have school.  They were sure hoping they would have today off.  Nice for Kimmy to have a day off after getting back from her trip.  Bill went to the SportsZone, but I stayed home and hibernated today.  Vikki, Peyton and Isaac came over and spent the day with us.  The kids helped me decorate.  Isaac did the nativity, and Peyton and Isaac decorated the little tree in the family room.  They did a great job.  Vikki brought Lucy and she sure was a great doggie today.  She even laid around a lot.  She loved being in front of the fireplace.  We had a nice visit and it was so nice having them over for the day.  Bill worked hard, plowing the driveways and shoveling and snowplowing paths.  We watched a Hallmark movie and had popcorn in the evening.

Went to church.  Great message and worship.  After church, Diane and her son James wanted us to go out to eat.  We went to the Olive Garden.  We had a nice visit and the food was delicious.  After we got home, I put some more Christmas decorations out.  Melissa, Bruce and the kids got back from Muskegon.  Bill and I went to Vikki's to drop off her cake pan.  We stayed for a while.  Bruce dropped Melissa off at Vikki's while he took the kids to get their costumes on for the rehearsal of the Boar's Head.  Kimmy, Jared and the boys got to Vikki's while we were there, so that made my day.  I got my hug from Kimmy, and then went out to the van to see the boys and get my hugs.  Wyatt was sure happy to have his family back and they were very happy to see him.  Bill, Melissa, Evan and I went to the church at 6:30.  The kids all did an amazing job.  Love the Boar's Head.  Such great music, singing, acting and the focus is on Jesus.

Tree is ready to decorate

The tree is decorated

We slept in this morning until 7. Bill had to meet Kevin for breakfast.  I took Melissa's laundry to her house.  Came home and brought the tree stuff down from upstairs.  Finished spreading the branches out and then started decorating.  It's always fun looking at all the special ornaments we've collected through the years.  Happy that Vikki is feeling better today.

11/23/18...Ate breakfast at the Shack, Checked out, Went to the Amish Store in Fremont, Stopped at Petticoat Junction for pie, Came home, Picked Melissa 's Laundry up and did it, Brought the tree up to get ready to decorate for tomorrow

I vacuumed leaves on the deck.  This sycamore leaf was huge.

We packed everything in Wes and Gayla's van.  Walked over to the main lodge and ate a yummy breakfast at the Shack.  We left after that and stopped at the Amish Store in Fremont.  We had fun walking around it.  I got some molasses cookies and red cinnamon pieces for Christmas cookies.  Also got a very cute book for Brittany's baby shower.  Bill got a Bible he has been looking for.
We stopped at Petticoat Junction by Alma and had pie and coffee.  Met a relative of Fisher's there and talked to him for a while.  He was a cousin.  He had graduated with Gayla.  It was beautiful out and in the 40's with the sun shinning.  Got home and Melissa called to say her dryer wouldn't heat up so wanted to know if I could pick up her wet laundry and dry it.  They were heading out the door to Muskegon to visit Bruce's parents.  I picked up the wet laundry and did her other laundry too.  Poor Vikki is sick today. Sure am praying for her.  We brought the Christmas tree up and I worked on straightening the branches.  We watched two good movies, Reunited and The Switched Princess.

11/22/18...Happy Thanksgiving!!!.Went to breakfast, played Skip Bo, Had Thanksgiving Dinner, Walked through the museum, Played more Skip Bo, Ate dinner, hung out, Had banana splits

Woke up giving the Lord thanks for all of the many blessings He has blessed us with.  So thankful for Jesus laying down His life so we could have salvation through faith in Him, God's Word to lead and guide us, The Holy Spirit to teach us, Our wonderful family who is so caring and loving.  We are thankful for our friends and for all of God's amazing creation.  All we have is from Him!  We had a great day.  Had a yummy breakfast in the morning, Walked around the inside of our lodge and then went to the museum and walked around and looked at all the neat antiques.  Played Skip Bo.  There were lots of Amish playing Rook at the the table next to us.  We talked to an 85 year old Amish man from Indiana about Jacob's Choice.  He has read the books and his wife was a relative of the family in the book.  We told them about Jared and his parents being relatives too.  There weren't as many Amish there as usual, but still had lots there.  They were very kind and friendly to us.  We had a wonderful Thanksgiving Dinner with the works and lots of pie to choose from for dessert.  We had apple.  Not as good as Kimmy's Apple Pie though.  We went to our rooms and relaxed for a little while.  All of a sudden we heard something at our door and it flew open.  Sue thought our room was hers and came right in.  We all got a good laugh and teased her over that one.  Was happy to get a call from Kimmy wishing us Happy Thanksgiving.  We played some more Skip Bo.  Everybody won except Charlie. Worked some on a puzzle that was on the table.  Found a few pieces.  It was a very hard puzzle with tiny pieces.  We had left over turkey and all that goes with it for dinner.  We all ate light because we were still pretty full and needed to have room for our banana splits.  Played more Skip Bo and Charlie still didn't win.  Had our banana splits which were yummy.  Mary's granddaughter and her boyfriend did a great job scooping ice cream and cutting bananas.  They put a whole banana in our dish and three huge scoops of ice cream.  I only took two scoops tonight though.

11/21/18...left for the Shack, Went to Blanchard, Got to the Shack

Sweet picture of Marv and his wife Jeanette.  He was so sad because he's missing her, but he knows he will see her again.  He kept telling us we should do what we want to do as a couple now, don't wait.  He told us they had plans for next summer and now he wishes he would have done them last summer.  He told us all the things he did to bless her when he took care of her when she was sick. What a kind sweet man who loves Jesus so much and had such a great love for his wife.  We will sure miss her at the Shack.
Got to Wes and Gayla’s at 9 a.m and they had us park our car in their garage.  They drove us in their new van.  We stopped at The Crystal Fountain Restaurant for breakfast. We had eggs, American fries, ham, (bacon for Bill) and homemade wheat toast with homemade strawberry jam.  So delicious!  It was four miles from Blanchard.  We went to Blanchard after that and went into a quilt shop and also a second hand shop. I picked up a cute book for Brittany’s baby shower.  Bill bought a digital camera he and Wes thought was great. Got it for $7.  We got to the Shack and found out the owner, Jeanette, (the wife who was 84) passed away in August. She cut all of the bananas for the banana splits each night.  We poured the water and filled the topping containers next to her when we were there.  One night there were over 177 in line.  She was so nice and I’m so happy she knows Jesus.  Sad without her here.  Haven’t seen her husband who is 88.  He is missing her and turned the ice cream scooping over to someone else for a while. No he is scooping the ice cream again.
We loved our beautiful room!  We reserved it last year because we liked it so much.  Charlie and Sue got here an hour after we did.  We went for a walk down the hallway and looked in all the rooms before all the other guests get here.  Such nice rooms. Some have red heart shaped hot tubs in them.  Ate meatloaf, chicken, mashed potatoes and Bess for dinner.  Played Skip Bo until time for or banana splits.  I won the first game, Sue won the second, and Bill one the third.  Bill and I went to ask Marv if he needed us to help with waters and coffee.  He didn’t.  We told him we were sorry about his wife passing and he gave us some advice.  Do what you want to do now.  He and his wife had day trips planned for next summer but he wishes the would have done them last summer. His wife could only do day trips.  Our banana splits were delicious. Marc’s granddaughter and her boyfriend scooped ice cream and cut the bananas.
