Meeka, when I came into the waiting room |
I was doing my inductive Bible Study for my class and all of a sudden, the wind blew so hard, the snow came flying at the windows and you could hardly see out of them they were so wet. The sun came out just then and they were so pretty and sparkly. |
This is our new spot for Bill's Marine wreath Debbie had made for him. I couldn't stand not seeing out the front door window. I like to check the flag to see which way and how hard the wind is blowing. |
I made a yummy pot pie tonight. Got the recipe online and tweeted it a little. Bill said it was really good and I thought so too. Will be making that again! |
Christmas decorations are gone and regular things are back in place. I sure am glad the girls helped me with the tree, or I would still be working at getting this all done. Bill went to meet Charlie for coffee. I started bringing totes down and then packed some Christmas decorations away. I made a coffee after I saw Bill making a coffee. Then I had my oatmeal with strawberries and blueberries. I got back to work after that, and Bill went outside and snow blowed the driveway and sidewalks again. Kit Kat was scratching at the door because she wanted in. She does that a lot. I yelled no at her and got the spray bottle so she would know to stop. Later on, I looked at the temperature and felt sorry for her. I didn't know it was that cold out. Poor Kitty. I didn't see her the rest of the day or night. I hope she is in a warm spot. I wanted her to be in her house. She did this the last time we had a frigid cold spell. Hope she comes to eat in the morning like usual. I talked to Melissa, and she told me Evan threw up in the middle of the night a lot. She had quite the mess to clean up. Poor Evan and poor Melissa. He threw up some more in the morning. Later in the afternoon, she called me to tell me that he had gone a long time without throwing up and was asking for food. I was so happy to hear that. He was happy he had 9 people praying for him in the morning. He's so cute and such a praying kiddo. I made a pot pie for us for dinner. Right as soon as I took it out of the oven, Rody called Bill and wanted him to come meet him at the car dealership to look at a car. He left and said he would eat when he got home. Rody ended up getting the car he wanted and got a good deal. Bill gave him some good wheeler dealer advise. I talked to Vikki a few times while he was gone. He came home and ate some of the pot pie and said it was really good. He ate a piece and a half. I did too. I go to a periodontist tomorrow so he can look at a tooth that's been giving me some problems. It feels fine right now, but it bugged me for 3 weeks. It's the gum, not the tooth, therefore my dentist is sending me there. Praying for a good report. Maddy is going to her cardiologist tomorrow. We are praying for each other. In the evening, Bill and I watched a good movie, Singing with Angels. We actually turned the kernel burner on at about 9:30 tonight because with the cold temperatures and the wind it wouldn't heat our big house and keep it warm enough all through. |
Beautiful pendants Kenzie made. I ordered a heart like the pink one. I told Kenzie I wanted to pay what she charges because she always blesses me with things she makes and I wanted to bless her. She said only if I let her give me one of her clothing line shirts. I told her no way, I would love one of her shirts, but would pay for that too. She is pretty stubborn. We will see who is the most stubborn |
Lots more snow fell after everyone left yesterday. |
Bill using his new lawn mower with the snowblower attachment on. It sure cleaned the driveway good. The snow was very wet and heavy, so he had to unclog it a few times. I got up to look and see if church was cancelled, but it wasn't. We got ready and decided to take the truck to church today. Bill started it a while before we left, then went out and cleaned the window off. It was nice and warm on our trip to church. Not too many at church today. Great worship and a good message. Prayed for Amy after the church service was over. Visited with Brittany and her family and mother in law for a while after church. Her mother in law was in a Community Bible Study a few years ago with Melissa, so she wanted to know how Melissa was doing and wanted me to tell her hi for her. She is really a nice person. We went home and ate lunch, then packed up the left overs from last night and took some to Melissa and her family because they have so much going on right now, and we girls thought it would bless them. I also took some to Sue and Charlie who are having health issues right now. I drove the truck with 4 wheel drive because the roads were slippery. Debbie had some home to our sister Carol last night who has health issues and couldn't come yesterday. Vikki and Rody always come for left over day after holidays, but this year thought we should donate it to people it would bless, so she, Kimmy and I all agreed. No leftover food in my refrigerator now. Love the happiness and smiles the food brought. God is good. Bill snow blowed the driveway and sidewalks. He also did a load of laundry. We both listened to CMA Officer training videos. We watched a movie after that. |

Shelf Vikki helped me make and hung for me last night after she and her sisters helped me take our Christmas tree down. Got up early to get food going and everything ready for the party. We read our Bibles and devotions. Vikki came early because she had a call from someone who wanted to buy the paddle boat she found and we picked up down our road for her last summer. Kimmy and her family got here next, and Melissa and her family got here at the same time. Debbie, Tom and Matthew came and then Kenzie. The kids opened their ornaments from Aunt Debbie, then Debbie gave us a beautiful ornament with all the kids and grandkids names on it. She also gave Bill a Military wreath she had made especially for him. That made him happy. Vikki took pictures afterward. We got the food on the table, and the person came to buy the paddleboat. Bill, Jacob and Adam and Vikki went out to take care of it and load it. We waited to pray until they got in. I said a prayer with Hailey, so she could eat quick as she had to leave at 4. Everyone came in from outside, and the rest of us prayed together. We all ate and then visited afterward. It was so much fun hanging out together. We ate dessert later on. Shani and Steve didn't come because they were getting over colds and also have a new puppy they didn't want to leave for a long time. Amanda had to work 16 hours, so she didn't make it. We were getting a snow storm and they said we could get 7 or 8 inches, so Kenzie headed home. A little later Debbie and family started to get ready to head home. I noticed a bag of food with a pop on the stairs and asked Debbie if it was hers. She said no, she had hers in the car. I remembered Kenzie packed leftovers for Travis and put a pop in it for him. Vikki called her and she came back to get it. She didn't stay long because she had a long way to go home. The other girls wanted to take me tree down. I told them no, and that they should get going because of the snow storm. They insisted, so the boys hauled the boxes for ornaments downstairs and we girls and Jared took the tree down. The girls laughed when they saw I had the boxes the ornaments came in and had written on each box what ornament it was and who it was from. It took extra time, but they were blessings and actually enjoyed seeing the ornament and knowing who gave it to me. So funny. Jared did an amazing job in the back of the tree finding ornaments we read off. It was great teamwork with amazing people I love. So thankful they did that for me. They even took the boxes upstairs and moved our furniture back where it was before the tree was put up. Rody helped us do that. Thanks everyone for all your amazing help and love. Kimmy, Jared and the boys left. Rody and Isaac left. Vikki, Peyton, Melissa, Jack and Evan hung out longer and visited. Jack cleaned the windows off the van and car. There was about 5 inches. Melissa and family and Vikki and Peyton headed out. Everyone let me know when they were home. I was happy to hear they were safe and sound. I emptied the dishwasher and put some things away, then sat down with Bill for a while. I went through the pictures Vikki took, but didn't do my blog. I will do two tomorrow. Such a fun day with my wonderful family God has blessed me with. |
Lots of birds flying and eating at the feeder |
Peyton, Rody, Isaac and Bill at Sombrayo's |
I started the dough in the bread maker as soon as I got up. Got ready and went to Bible Study at church. We are studying the book of James. One of my favorite books in the Bible. Maddy forgot all about it, so she didn't make it. Brielle was up lots last night. I met Bill at Kroger and he filled up my car and his truck up with gas. We got $1 off of 35 gallons. I went to T.J. Max and 5 Below. Got a watch charger stand for $6. I talked with all of the girls. When I got home, I baked the rolls, made the pies, and got lots of stuff ready for tomorrow. Bill and I decided to go to Sombrero's. Vikki and Rody love the Mexican food there and she told me about it. We called and invited them to meet us there and they did. The kids came too, but they don't like the food there. Vikki and I split a small Nacho. It was so big that neither of us could even eat our half. Bill couldn't eat his either. We were all super stuffed. It was fun getting together. They were stopping at McDonald's to get the kids some food. We came home and I peeled potatoes for tomorrow. After that, we watched a good movie. |

Mr. Squirrel was busy eating! He brought some of his friends before I took this, but they disappeared somewhere |
Lots of Cardinals visited this morning |
Evan at Culvers! Papa took him to celebrate him getting the "Overcomer" Award at school. Evan always has an amazing attitude, prays about everything and believes God will answer. He is an amazing kid! He's definitely and overcomer!!! Bill went out to snow blow the driveway and sidewalks and then shoveled paths on the deck. Our friend, Barb, that is in Faith Riders with us, called me and shared some sad news. She has been diagnosed with Ovarian cancer and an abdominal aortic aneurysm. I talked with her a long time and prayed with her. She was at a friend of mine's house from way back. Jeannie and her family went to church with us in the 80's. So thankful someone is close by and helping her out. She doesn't have biological family but has a great church family. She wanted to be put on all of the prayer chains and wants as much prayer as she can get. I ate my oatmeal with strawberries and raisins in it and drank my coffee in a Kimmy mug. While Bill was busy, I cleaned the bathroom downstairs and scrubbed the floor. Did my Bible reading time and prayer time. Bill took Evan to Culver's and I planned on having the kitchen floor scrubbed by the time he got home. Kimmy called so I talked to her, then talked to Melissa, then talked to Kimmy again. Bill got home, so I just did the floor after he was home. Melissa and the kids came over for a visit. We gave Hailey her pocket scarf. Good night for that because it started snowing again. Vikki called a couple of times. She's pretty sure Peyton's toe is broke. Another one is hurting. A kid a school stepped on her foot. Poor girl. I know what it feels like. We all, except Jack, watched the movie I Am Gabriel. Jack had to get homework done. After the movie, the boys played air hockey and hung out in the basement for a while. Then they left for home. It was still snowing and Melissa called when they got home and said the roads were slick. |
